How To Get Your FIRST 50 Followers On Twitch!

- Starting a Twitch channel essentially means you're going to be trying to grow from 0 viewers, and 0 Followers, this is a massive hurdle to overcome as a new Streamer.
You even have to expect 0 to no viewers for your first stream or week, I want you to turn off the viewer count, and Stream Like You Have 100s of viewers for two reasons, first to build up your confidence and practice your skills as an entertainer.
And second, you need to stream with the idea of making content for Tik tok, Yt shorts, instagram, full youtube videos, and any of the thousands of other platforms.
It sounds like a lot, but you need to go above and beyond to get your first 50 followers on Twitch!

How To Choose a game for Twitch Growth
Personally, I think too many people rely on looking at the top games by viewers on Twitch to pick what they play, because I think there is a much better number.
Category Followers. These are the people who have hit follow on a category or game, and if someone has done that they are pretty much going to get recommended on their homepage that category. They’ll also get recommended other categories they like watching, but you can’t see that number.
An example, Stardew Valley a game I got a lot of growth in when I started, took me from 10 avg to 20 avg, has 798,000 followers, an incredibly active community who love it religiously, it still gets updates, has npc’s that are chatty so it's good for smaller streamers with less twitch chat to respond to, but it only averages at 500 - 800 total viewers and you only need 5 viewers to appear in the top 3 rows.
The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.

Awesome video! I feel like a lot of people struggle with motivation these days and making that further step to stand out. And it’s honestly crazy how greatly shorts can influence a community. Also I feel that finding what content to make can be a little bit tricky too and how to shift your presence on screen with your REAL personality, and not a fake one to please others. Great video, always learn so much from these!

People hate to hear it, but UA-cam is definitely the place to be if you're looking to grow. Having videos, shorts, and live streams all in the same place is just so much easier than trying to build a following across three completely separate platforms.
I was starting to invest in youtube growth when I started seeing comments saying. Literally "violence and harrassment against women is just natural selection" and thats, apparently, not against youtubes T&C's but a creator saying "f**k" in their vod is a big deal.
And I, very quickly, decided if something as super plain anf easy to chuck in the trash as THAT was okay here then clearly I'm not okay here

Oddly, it was more difficult for me to hit 50 followers than it was to get 3 average viewers and the 5 concurrent chatters, though I had been told it's usually the other way around.
I'm still learning, and your tip from another video about watching your own VODs back to see what can be improved is what's really keeping me motivated and wanting to create more.
What kind of content do you do if you don't mind me asking? I managed to hit Affiliate in 8-9 months but I'm struggling to keep the retention and the people continuing watching my streams, it's really demoralising. I can't find a game that is both lucrative for viewers and enjoyable to play.

I exclusively do shiny hunts on Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, specifically targeting fans of the franchise that prefer more of a relaxed community. I'm still trying to figure out my brand actually, but I feel like the value most of my viewers get is the relaxed environment but also having a good laugh at my reactions to finding shinies.

I’ve been streaming for a couple months but only can really do it in the weekend. I’m at 28 followers, I don’t get but hurt or anything when only 1-2 people are watching and one being me lmao. I just stream and play the game and talk as if there was an audience.

Is it possible to recover the chat history on twitch?
I had someone who messaged me while I was offline and when I entered OBS and opened the chat, their message was there but I was like I start the stream as planned and will get to the person later but now I can't find it because they only show the messages from the stream. These are great tips. The only thing is, I’ve uploaded a couple videos on UA-cam and I’ve gotten literally 0 views. I feel like UA-cam’s algorithm just isn’t as good as, let’s say, TikTok, or even Twitter.

Personally I wouldn't bother trying to make it big, just make what you love, and enjoy, if it happens awesome.
I don't make the content that gets the most views here, I got stuck doing that for a while, so these days I just make what I feel like, views are lower, but I'm earning a decent living, and not in a rat race.

Using UA-cam to promote Twitch is backwards. The money is on UA-cam. It makes money when you’re sleeping. Twitch only makes you money while you’re streaming. Use Twitch to promote your UA-cam channel!

Building an audience on youtube is definitly the easiest way in my opinion. I had my forst stream on twitch last night and I hit 58 followers because my UA-cam audience came over to check me out.
