@@vicluv1165 is the upgrade programme available in your country?? It's worth doing. I'm gonna be paying less for the S23 Ultra than I am for the S22 Ultra right now! 😂
The main reason to upgrade would be the Snapdragon chip that should help with battery life qnd processing during photography. I've noticed my S22U taking its sweet time with some images and especially during video recording the live feed stutters even if the result is smooth. Filming with the S22U isn't much fun for that reason alone and its HDR10 video mode doesn't even always look good on its own screen. For everything else, the S23U sounds like a minor upgrade (or even "downgrade" as with the front camera - which remains to be seen). What I really hope for is Samsung pushing the new processing to their older models, like the S22 line. Yes, the Exynos models might be less powerful, but firmware and software updates, especially for night time processing and photo color balance are things that are not exclusive to the new CPU. The new sensor does play a part, but it's only fair to set the expectation for support of the pre gen devices if it's software that has gotten better. Everything else should be considered negligence - but my honest guess is that we won't see it and theat they don't care.
I just wanna say, less Mega Pixels in a camera isn't a downgrade necessarily, less MP captures more light and more MP are only useful if you crop a lot into pictures, but all of that is tied to Samsung's processing of course, so yes, everything remains to be seen :),

I have not owned a Pixel 7 or an iPhone 13 (I despise Apple), but based on reviews I have seen, the S22 - S23 Ultra had the best still photos of any camera phone. i have taken pictures in nearly pitch black conditions with my S22 Ultra and I have gotten beautiful pictures. One photo I took at night had only a streetlight that was several hundred feet away and I took several photos of a huge storm that hit my house. The water level in the street got up to over a foot deep (my house is raised above the street) and several hundred square feet of the street had become a swimming pool. In near pitch black, rainy conditions, I took several photos. Get this, the photos not only came out brilliantly accurate they showed colors very well. For all those who are "upgrading" from S22 Ultra - thank you for making Samsung fan base so strong that there really aren't many improvements. On contrary, everything they could - they really did remove (headphone jack, memory card slot, charger...). Curved screen that noone really wants is still there, no design changes, front camera downgrade. Not to mention 8/128 Gb base version, while Note 9 in 2018 had same 8 Gb and Note10+ 12 Gb. Keep "upgrading" each and every year, I'm pretty sure we will be getting the same devices, just like Apple fans do, and of course - prices will be higher.

In regards to charging speeds it looks like they're going for longevity of their products so it makes sense. Especially considering their new 4 years of software pledge.
I truly don't get this stuff about battery charging speed. Longevity of the battery is way more important in my view and 45w charges the S22 ultra quickly enough. Main reason to upgrade, as far as I am concerned, is SD 8 Gen 2....instead of the usual Exynos..Uurgh
just ordered the S23 Ultra, upgrading from the S22plus....first time i've had an Ultra...with a trade in Samsung upgraded from 256gb to 512gb...looking forward to it :-)
They are only offering $500 for the S22 Ultra as a trade in. That's super low compared to the last few years on their flagship phones. I'll probably keep my S22 Ultra.
Phone repair tech here. I actually don't mind the lack of ultra fast charging compared to other devices, because that "super fast charging" actually degrades your battery faster. Typically Li-ion batteries last roughly 4 years before noticeable degradation with regular charging, but with that super ultra fast charging (35+ watts) it can degrade it to the point of only 2.5-3 years before noticeable degradation. As nice as it is to charge your phone really fast, realistically the long term consequences outweigh the benefits, at least with current lithium ion technology.

Irrespective of pros, few cons(if considered)1. no sd card slot,2. Spen is still on the left side. 3. Same old 45 watt charging support which the started with note10 plus. Its been a while OEMs are not focusing on newfeature inclusion. So no point upgrading from S22 ultra.
Dope vid, and happy seeing someone else feel the S23+ is definitely the value pick, chances are that's the one I'll go for. Actually thought I was gonna have to go with the Ultra to get the 12mp selfie camera, super happy some of the leaks were wrong and I don't, people are sleeping on the S23+ haha.
@@dksun Just researched and I couldn't find any definitive answer but seemingly no since the only time I saw writers say improved ois it was in reference to the Ultra.
At £1250 it is very expensive and the freebies in the UK are poor, just a 6 month subscription to Disney+ (we got a year for S22U). Nothing else, and the trade-ins are below market values on eBay. I understand why Samsung has put prices up and are offering little incentive-wise; 2023 will be a bad year for most OEMs and like Apple, they are not a charity. Def a year to take stock and even though I would love to dump my Exynos S22U for an SD8G2, I am unwilling to lose £600 in a year by trading in my S22U. I will leave that to people that have trust funds or are talented with good jobs.
I honestly don't see any point in releasing a new phone every year. But making money is their primary goal so that will continue to be the case no matter what.
I have been watching their presentation stream and the only thing that was talked about is how good the camera is nothing else. So why is it 150-200 euro more expensive then lol
I'm upgrading from the S22 Ultra more for the improved battery life, speakers (more bass and volume), dramatically faster CPU, GPU and NPU and of course ram. Don't need to upgrade but I thought why not. Trying out the green so we'll see how it looks in person. If I don't like it I'll be swapping for phantom black again.
What's the best thing? You didn't pay $2500 for it? The fibs they're telling about the camera and megapixel downgrades (40>12) with this phone are getting out of hand.
I love tech! but after being a 1st adopter for years (when upgrades mattered) I realized I wasn't really getting anything of value for the price. incremental cpu speed, display and cosmetic enhancements charged as if they were revolutionary, no thanks.
May I ask if the s23ultra’s main camera captures instant shots, or does it have a high success rate in shooting fast objects? Is there a serious sense of oil painting when zooming in on photos? Because I was dissatisfied with the two aspects of s22ultra last year, so I sold it to a friend, thank you
On a hands on with another dude , slow shutter I observed too , perhaps there is a mode where it can shoot faster , but having 200 pixels there are definitely questions to be answered about the extra processing that will be required, also possibly over heating camera , and I would imagine rolling shutter in video , and moving objects when taking stills might be an issue , it will be interesting to see if samsung can pull a rabbit out of the hat on this one. Battery consumption might also be an issue when shutter bugging?
@@fuzer4047 shutter lag is one of major downsides of Samsung phones. At least on Exynos versions available in my region. Ruined so many photos, even with good light conditions. I don't care about 100x zoom or Moon shots if pic of anything that's moving will come out as blurry mess. I really can't understand why don't they do their best to fix it. It can't be that hard.
If Samsung is only offering $500 for the S22 Ultra this year wouldn't the trade-in value be even less next year when the S24 Ultra comes out? So even though the trade in value this year is terrible wouldn't you be better off still taking the deal this year for the 23 Ultra and then perhaps flipping the 23 Ultra next year for the 24 Ultra for those that typically upgrade every year or 2?
Managed to win a mystery box so got the ultra 512gig, Galaxy Buds2 pro, watch 5 pro with 1 year free esim and 30gigs 5g for a total of 42 gdp per month for 24 months here in Sweden though a collab between samsung and a provider so im happy and already got the phone in hand.
History? Maybe you forgot only when then had iphone 11 pro max when iphone started winning from the battert race with samsung. Now s23 plus beats the iphone 14 pro max.
Why do you "need" fast charging? I've been merely charging overnight for the last year on my S22 Ultra. The thing it needs is iris recognition like the Note 9 had. I'm hoping my S23 Ultra will have better fingerprint recognition - the Note 9 was brilliant. Pre-order discount and trade in meant only £620
Yeah you need to get the phone, because you missing out on what you should be reporting on, one of them is the speakers. The speakers are way better and I’m glad they getting back on board on doing their speakers like they use too. The sound is rich and sold and the base is really nice too. Way better then it use to be.

Love the space zoom.. love shooting at night stars 🌟 and moon 🌒
4:42 The S23 series including the basic S23 do have a display max out at 1750 nits.
6:16 S22 Ultra uses HM3 as the main sensor instead of HP3.
I want to upgrade from my note 10+. Should I get the s23 ultra or save some money and get the s22 ultra
Dope vid, and happy seeing someone else feel the S23+ is definitely the value pick, chances are that's the one I'll go for. Actually thought I was gonna have to go with the Ultra to get the 12mp selfie camera, super happy some of the leaks were wrong and I don't, people are sleeping on the S23+ haha.
does the plus have the improved OIS?
You're summed up exactly what the reality is this year. Sadly Samsung has made it impossible to upgrade this year. Its not financially viable.
Does it have the ultra sonic max you demoed a couple years ago?
I honestly don't see any point in releasing a new phone every year. But making money is their primary goal so that will continue to be the case no matter what.
I have been watching their presentation stream and the only thing that was talked about is how good the camera is nothing else. So why is it 150-200 euro more expensive then lol
for the plus it could be because now 256gb storage is default
I have been using the A71 since launch, I guess I will upgrade this year.
If you want one and dont have a s22 ultra then get it. If you already have the 22 ultra, then you'll be fine.
@@Yielar1 Same boat here. And I have a very good example of S22U, no problems whatsoever.
Imma keep my s22 ultra 😍
Me too
No sd slot? Staying with the N20U. I got it new one year after release, so have more time LOL.
What's the best thing? You didn't pay $2500 for it? The fibs they're telling about the camera and megapixel downgrades (40>12) with this phone are getting out of hand.
Your Video quality is awesome , 1080p looks better than 1080 p
i hope to see review if samsung 23u better on stabilizer video than iphone 14 pro max action mode super steady when running?
Does it finally support Blutooth APTX lossless audio headphones?
The pixel 7 and 7 pro are genuinely really good deals right now. I mean £850 Pixel 7 Pro vs £850 S22, I think everyone would pick the pixel
the hardware is not really fitting for a flagship phone. G2 is an inferior chip that geats beaten by a 2yr old snapdragon 888
Kind of jaded over Samsung lowering the trade-in prices. You used to be able to trade in the last phone and get 1000 off the new one.
Has the finger print sensor really changed?
Why do only 1 model behind comparison when most ppl on a 2 year contract. Is it worth upgrading from s21?
I love tech! but after being a 1st adopter for years (when upgrades mattered) I realized I wasn't really getting anything of value for the price. incremental cpu speed, display and cosmetic enhancements charged as if they were revolutionary, no thanks.

May I ask if the s23ultra’s main camera captures instant shots, or does it have a high success rate in shooting fast objects? Is there a serious sense of oil painting when zooming in on photos? Because I was dissatisfied with the two aspects of s22ultra last year, so I sold it to a friend, thank you
According to MKBHD shutter lag is still there...
@@stevanb.2590 he tested it with 200 mp mode not the regular mode the regular mode is still faster than s22 ultra
@@fuzer4047 he showed the shutter lag in an S23+....

Love your reviews 👌🏼 hello from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Managed to win a mystery box so got the ultra 512gig, Galaxy Buds2 pro, watch 5 pro with 1 year free esim and 30gigs 5g for a total of 42 gdp per month for 24 months here in Sweden though a collab between samsung and a provider so im happy and already got the phone in hand.
Does the base model with 256 GB have 8 or 12 GB RAM? Because some pages said 8 GB
It's 8gb in most countries but some countries like Iraq get 12gb RAM on all models
With Samsungs terrible history with batteries, I don't think we should be encouraging them for faster charging 💥 😂
Lol🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
History? Maybe you forgot only when then had iphone 11 pro max when iphone started winning from the battert race with samsung. Now s23 plus beats the iphone 14 pro max.
23 ultra 200mp Lets goo
What's your opinion about zoom 3X if you compare with s22 ultra? Is it the same quality!?
Every year, I swear you always capture my bro Kadesh from Samsung. Maybe next year I'll try get a invite.
Why do you "need" fast charging? I've been merely charging overnight for the last year on my S22 Ultra. The thing it needs is iris recognition like the Note 9 had. I'm hoping my S23 Ultra will have better fingerprint recognition - the Note 9 was brilliant.
Pre-order discount and trade in meant only £620
Going to upgrade this year. Currently using note10plus
Yeah you need to get the phone, because you missing out on what you should be reporting on, one of them is the speakers. The speakers are way better and I’m glad they getting back on board on doing their speakers like they use too. The sound is rich and sold and the base is really nice too. Way better then it use to be.
Upgrading to s23 ultra 512gb from s10 base model. Can't wait to get it ❤️
