I love the Arnold Palmer (zero sugar for me because diabetes) myself. But yes, traditional Southern sweet tea is *very *very* very* sweet because it has *so much* sugar.
My step brother has type 1. It was eye opening to say the least watching him count carbs. You never think about how much sugar is in everything as a healthy person. It's a privilege most people probably don't realize they have. And insulin prices are ridiculous, a literal crime against humanity for a vial of insulin to cost 400 dollars.
@@michaeldaigle7207 I consume 3 vials a month for 27 years. I have literally paid for stockholders' retirement. In Ireland it would cost damn near nothing.
Being from the South (US), sweet tea is life. The absolute best is sun brewed in those large glass dispensers with the spigot built in. The only time our 100 degree weather is a positive. I'm a bit of a odd-ball in my region as I don't like my sweet tea to be made with half a pound of sugar. Lightly sweetened, served over ice, with a squeeze of lemon wedge. Perfection. As for Arizona, I like their Arnold Palmer and the Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey.
“Sweet Tea” is a very specific thing, only served in U.S. southern states and not liked by everyone in those states nor anyone in any other state. It is NOT the same as sweetened tea. Just if you ever visit, know what you’re ordering or being offered. Unsweetened Tea = no sugar, only tea Sweetened Tea = some sugar, can still taste tea Sweet Tea = a feckton of sugar, can barely taste tea
I'm from Michigan and I love sweet tea. I picked up a taste for it 30 years ago when I spent 6 months in Augusta, GA. Quite a few people I know up here like it as well.
Funny enough, those differences are in the way they're made. Sweetened tea is brewed and cooled tea with sugar added. Sweet tea is sugar water with tea bags added. 😁
I was timing how long it would take for someone to mention how it would go with alcohol and it took over 5 minutes. Longer than usual but my man Paddy didn't disappoint.
I love either drinking the sweet tea or the green tea with ginseng and honey is just the best. I also like the Fruit Punch and the Peach Fruit Punch from the Arizona brand.
What I love about Arizona tea is the ingredient label is short and doesn't consist of a bunch of industrial chemicals but the cans are still only $0.99US. Quality product for a reasonable price. That's why I always go for them when I want a cold drink in a convenience store.
Shannon: "Why would nyone drink that much tea?" Sweetie, y'all ain't never been in the American South-Eastern states, have you? The Arizona stuff is sweet, but it ain't SOUTHERN sweet. You know, where you take a sip and can taste the diabetes? That's SOUTHERN sweet. My mother-in-law was born and raised in Texas. Trust me....I know "sweet". And they drink LOTS of it.
Iced tea with a varying amount of sugar (depending on how close the drinker is to diabetes) is a staple here in the SE US. Best is sun tea - tea bags into large glass container (think 5 gallon water container) and sat in the full strong sun for most of a day, then served poured over massive amounts of ice with simple syrup added for sweetness
Thanks guys, I found you all a way back and have been crushing on your show ever since. I'm sure every one of you would be a blast to tip a glass with. Keep on keeping on. Txs

Death Valley is in California. Part of the Mojave desert, also happens to be part of our national training area for soldiers. Ft. Irwin....the box! Half way from LA to Vegas baby, Barstow...middle of nowhere. Spent many a day.
I grew up in Lancaster and can confirm, aside from Edwards AFB there is absolutely nothing between there and Prim basically
Colin’s laugh off-screen gets me every time!
I've been drinking these since grammar school, thank you Paddy and Anne for calling out the amount of sugar and how they don't quench your thirst. I once drank two cans back to back and was still thirsty. Felt like ass for the rest of the day afterwards.
The energy herbal tonic flavor is the best IMO. But it’s really hard to come by where I’m from lol
There's a few places I can go to, and if they're out I just have to wait a couple of days. #KCMO
There's 4 places i can get it around me, and one of them is the local comic book/ game store.
Omg the blueberry white tea is my FAVORITE Arizona!!!!!
I rarely drink these anymore and yet of course cosmically I'm sitting here drinking one of their energy blends while watching this video... Cheers!!!
Arizona tea is a blessing. I wish we had the half and half tropical and the blueberry white tea here!
Rx Energy Elixir is my favorite. don't remember seeing some of those here in states.
I've seen it here in Michigan, but it was years ago, might be gone now
@@ajsparx4133 my cvs in Maryland
I love the green tea with honey and ginseng, and the Rx energy.
The best one is Arizona Black and White. Also, I'm from Arizona and they don't make these here, they make them in New York
Yeah, we should be getting a royalty from them for our State's name. Everyone thinks it's from here.
But she would still be better off visiting Arizona than New York so hopefully she doesn't find out
Yes and yes. I live in Phoenix.
New York City??? Get a rope. Anyone remember that commercial.
Cousin can I get ariz tea in ariz? Had to cancel my ariz trip I'm sad! I may move back to ariz for the climate! I'm sick always in my native state! Lived in Tucson for 4 mths we got lots of Jan flatland snow cold summer in 1976!
Just love these kids! Never fail to make me laugh. Thanks to you all.
Well... consider that the current temperature in Phoenix Arizona is 43.9 C, with 16% humidity... it might explain the size of those cans. :-)
For those of us from the AZ desert region, the end of August is when our wills run weak and we are whining, "when will it end?!?!?!" We have at least another month to go before temps will cool down - ugh...
But these aren't made in Arizona....lol
Always nice when Shannon shows up for a video. Her and Jamie are great together.
Yes you should come to arizona. Death valley is in California. The grand canyon is in Arizona. Arizona sweet tea brand is actually not from Arizona. It's in new york
When I was a teenager I used to buy the can's of Arizona Raspberry iced tea, I loved that stuff!
2:25 Paddy: "This is unhealthy. This is going to kill us."
He says that when he's a Try-er of all sorts of weird, high proof alcohols in this channel. XD
Arizona tea is iconic. One of my favorite childhood drinks.
The Sweet tea is my favorite, I'm actually drinking it right now.
I've noticed more and more -- nice background music. That whistling Ennio Morricone type thing was fitting.
Beware of antioxidants. I ran out of oxidants once, it was a horrible experience.
Yes, you're right Paddy....GA. Peaches can be quite lovely,lol! Speaking as a "GA.Peach" myself.😁
Jamie and Shannon 😍 They're both so adorable
They’re a good fun pairing for this vid ✨🙌
As an adult I don't drink it anymore, but this brings back memories of being in middle school in NYC, going with my friend to the pizzeria after school, getting a slice of pizza each and sharing a 99¢ Arizona, because that's what we did to be able to afford a slice and a drink. It was normal though, and we were young, happy, and naive lol. Great video guys!!!! Love from NYC!!!!!
There used to be a blueberry pomegranate iced tea. I think it was a white tea. I used to get it every Friday when I would go skating, then they DISCONTINUED IT because no one was buying it.
I was. I was buying it🥺
America is always does amazing with drinks, snacks and fast foods.
I'm glad we're slowly catching up with these American products here in the UK!!!!
It's no more sugar than a coke, it's just the can is twice the size. A 24oz coke would have 70 grams of sugar.
@@michaeldaigle7207 I consume 3 vials a month for 27 years. I have literally paid for stockholders' retirement. In Ireland it would cost damn near nothing.
I didn't know there was a sugar free.option. thanks!
@@thokim84 Yes that sucks. I hope you at least bought shares of the company years ago.
I wish we still had the White Tea w/Blueberry here in Arizona.
I know. I've only seen it once here and that was quite some time ago.
No Arnold Palmer?! Awe, you’re missing out!
Unsweetened Tea = no sugar, only tea
Sweetened Tea = some sugar, can still taste tea
Sweet Tea = a feckton of sugar, can barely taste tea
I'm from Michigan and I love sweet tea. I picked up a taste for it 30 years ago when I spent 6 months in Augusta, GA. Quite a few people I know up here like it as well.
Funny enough, those differences are in the way they're made.
Sweetened tea is brewed and cooled tea with sugar added.
Sweet tea is sugar water with tea bags added. 😁
There's sweet tea...then there is southern sweet tea.
I think that's a mostly fair assessment. Everybody who is native southerner likes sweet tea.
this is the episode I've always wanted but never thought about to ask for!
I'm drinking a Mucho Mango right now!
Yes Paddy. That's exactly where you drink ice tea. On the porch with a cool breeze blowing through the magnolias, visiting with the neighbors
In a Mason jar!!
I love how blown away they are by the sugar content in U.S. treats.
What I love about Arizona tea is the ingredient label is short and doesn't consist of a bunch of industrial chemicals but the cans are still only $0.99US. Quality product for a reasonable price. That's why I always go for them when I want a cold drink in a convenience store.
Most of those "industrial chemicals" you're thinking of are just the scientific names for vitamins like Folic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, etc ..
@@liamengram6326 No, I am quite knowledgeable about food ingredients and know the difference but way to be a condescending ass.
@@KenS1267 So what are these "industrial chemicals" in other soft drinks that you worry so much about?
I find it funny how they said imagine drinking the whole thing LMAO i can literally down 2-3 in minutes
It's always a good time watching The Try Channel. Nicely done.
Shannon: "Why would nyone drink that much tea?"
Sweetie, y'all ain't never been in the American South-Eastern states, have you? The Arizona stuff is sweet, but it ain't SOUTHERN sweet. You know, where you take a sip and can taste the diabetes? That's SOUTHERN sweet. My mother-in-law was born and raised in Texas. Trust me....I know "sweet". And they drink LOTS of it.
RASPBERRY! It's my favourite Arizona iced tea. Refreshing. There is also Arizona hard iced tea. I am interested in trying that.
Fun fact: Arizona was originally a beer company.
From New York. 🤔
@@Harv72b Yah I remember the Frisco Kid, he was from Jersey, fought in Chicago :B
Arizona ice tea is actually from New York, on Long Island specifically. :)
We don't have all of these varieties in my part of the US. They look delicious. I love the Green Tea with Ginseng and the Sweet Tea
Their mango-flavored sugar water is delicious.
I put that one in the freezer just long enough to slush and it's so refreshing.
@@dasdovian7785 I never even thought of that, but I am 100% doing that with the next can! 👍
arizona is great and the blueberry white tea is a new favorite for me i always have to get one when i see it
You need to drink that much when it's 116° F!
Thanks guys, I found you all a way back and have been crushing on your show ever since. I'm sure every one of you would be a blast to tip a glass with. Keep on keeping on. Txs
I can’t get enough of the chick in the pink sweater, she’s fucking adorable
Arizona has so many flavors they just touched the surface.
More flavors please. Y'all definitely went outside the can with those flavors.
Thank you for brightening our day!
My friend here in the South of the USA makes her own sweet tea. She makes it even sweeter than the Arizona teas!
I'm a transplant from the NW of the USA and, after 16 years here, still can't drink sweet tea!
Midwesterner here, and I can’t stand cold teas, sweet teas. Never could understand how people could drink it. My best friend moved to Texas and has become a sweet tea addict.
As a native Arizonan, be prepared for 40 to 43c summers. Also if you ever do visit, Walnut Canyon is beautiful.
