You know what I love the most about your channel? The reverence and love in your eyes when you look at your father. May the Lord continue to bless you both abundantly.
I have to say that this is by far one of the best gardens and garden channels I've ever seen. The amount of care and attention to detail for both is admirable. Keep it up. Fair winds and many blessed harvests to you and yours!
Thank you! 😊 The garden is a calming and peaceful place as long as there's not a lot of weeds yelling at us to remove them, I enjoy having a basically weed free garden! May God bless you!
Your garden is beautiful. I like how you've sown the corn at different intervals. I'm certainly going to use your method of trellising tomatoes with our next planting season. I am in South Africa and we are currently in mid winter here
Looks amazing, nice and green! I've adapted alot of the ways you guys do things i must say my garden is much more plentiful and happy got our very first watermelons getting bigger each day as everything else in the garden thanks for the information and knowledge from the both of you! Have a blessed day!
I love the tours. It would be wonderful to see a rough sketch/layout/dimension/garden plan of the whole thing to try get a sense of how everything is integrated together. I see close walks thru fruit rows, and corn rows, and potato rows, and other wide rows, and find myself wondering how big it actually is and where the rows are when watching a walk thru. Appreciate the peek either way.
I love, love, love your garden! I grow lots of peppers and plant them in pairs like my ancestors did and have more abundant crops. For next year will definitely try your pepper trellis. God bless you!
Hello and thank you both for sharing your knowledge on organic gardening with us all😊...Sir can you tell me how to kill or destroy nematodes from my garden soil ..please .Thanks 😊
Hello from Trinidad. You are both truly inspirational. My dream is to be like this with my sons one day. Your Dad has a super green thumb , like the Incredible Hulk. Thanks a lot. Stay blessed.
I put the chicken manure on throughout the winter fresh from the coop. I just sprinkle it around and then when it's time to plant I use a pointed hoe and make a trench and drop in seeds and cover and tamp down lightly and it's done. Have a blessed day!
The corn got some chicken manure spread on it throughout the winter. If you check out some of the other videos we go over what we used for fertilizer for each crop. Blessings to you!
Very nicely done! Thanks for the tour! I see you have irrigation set up, can I ask if you have that on a timer and what is your watering schedule like? Thanks again! God Bless!
I always enjoy your videos. Do you use the same soil/amendments for all your vegetables as you do for the tomatoes? How often do you fertilize your garden
Good questions, no I use different amendments depending on if the plant is a fruiting plant or a leaf plant. And I use different amounts depending on vigor of plant. I only fertilize once a year in spring for most crops but some I'll do some in fall and spring. May God bless you!
You can do that but the bark isn't going to last very long and it's doesn't provide as much drainage as the perlite, you'll also need to add a little dolomite lime to balance the acid in the bark, but if it just for one season I'm sure it'll work as long as you follow these suggestions . May God bless you!
It's lovely! My green bean leaves have gotten so pale, do you have a fertilizer you use during growing season for greenbeans? And what is the name of that beautiful, deep burgandy-colored head of lettuce you grow? God bless you!
No ,I only do pre season amendments, you could try feather meal or some organic liquid fish fertilizer which will be much quicker action. The deep red lettuce is Merlot.
@@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork Thank you again for answering my questions :) I definitely want to grow that lettuce, and will apply organic liquid fish fertilizer (I do not have the feather meal, but adding it to my notes).
Excellent question! No weeds because of no-till practices and being diligent in pulling weeds when very small and NEVER let a weed go to seed that along with drip irrigation so I'm not watering everything else but the most important is the no-till as your not exposing old dormant seeds to germination possibilities. May God bless you!
Good morning, brothers! I noticed your dad is using a drip-line to keep the gardens watered. Do you feel this is cost effective as to just letting the rain water? Have a blessed day!
We don't have any rain all summer and we have lots of triple digit temperatures so there's no choice but to provide some sort of irrigation and yes the drip is a very cost-effective system. May God bless you!
Love your shade system/trellis for the south side of the tomatoes!!!…BTW does your lettuce turn bitter with the heat we are having now???.. I am in North Idaho zone 5/6..Monday was 103!!!…thanks
Thanks for the compliment! No, our lettuce doesn't get bitter until it actually bolts to seed and it's been 108⁰ and triple digits for 3 weeks and it's still Forcast fir a while yet😥 blessings to you!
We pull them at a very young age and NEVER let them go to seed, the most important thing to do is practice no-till along with drip irrigation. Have a wonderful day!
Thankfully I don't have any pests with my onions😊 I'm sure you probably know that healthy plants don't have pests, pests are garbage collectors removing sick plants from the eco system ,so if you have pests there's something out of balance somewhere, I'm certainly not saying that I don't have any oest pressure but it's just a signal to me there's something not quite right so then I try to figure it out. May God bless you!
This has nothing to due with this post but since i follow you guys i have a question i just got our first Blue Java Banana tree and was wondering if i can use the same fertilizer and minerals as we use in the garden I'd figured I'd ask you guys since i use the methods you do! Any help is greatly appreciated thanks! Have a blessed day!
Sure you can use the same amendments, I'd suggest a nice loose soil that drains well and slightly acidic. Maybe add good compost to the planting area as well. May God bless you!
@GardeningHomesteadingWoodwork ok will do much appreciated thanks for answering that for me I have some good fresh compost I'll be using! Thanks again I'll keep you posted! Have a blessed day!
Question regarding tomatoes, I have a few plants and I had a ton of flowers however some ofvthe flowers in bunches formed tomatoes that grew but others just stayed really small that started to form. Any idea why these never formed?
Love the videos! Where do you all live? I am also very curious about what the name is to the specialty tomato that was small with more tomatoes than leaves?? Do you have a video on how you installed the irrigation? If not could you maybe talk about that? Thank you both and I pray God protects and blesses you all and the family in Jesus name AMEN!
Maybe you can help, my pepper plants grew nice but only 1 pepper per plant, do you have any idea why only 1 pepper, we`'ve had a lot of rain. Nancy from Nebraska
Lack of nutrients probably, without you describing what your setup is and what your fertilizer/ amendment program is I can't even guess, if you give more info maybe we can help.
When you asked what the name of the amendments are, did you mean the brand of the amendments? We get them wholesale and they are a bunch of different brands. Soon we should be selling them online. What are you looking for? We have some stock and could possibly ship you what you need.
I did mean the brand it was everything I ordered that your dad shared on mending the dirt for the tomatoes and I think he said to do it again when the plants are making fruit. Is this correct? I have a lot of green tomatoes they have not blushed yet. Some leaves are turning yellow
I don't transplant except for the very first crop, all the rest is direct seeded. Any higher nitrogen amendment Wil work as they aren't a heavy feeder, you can use composted chicken manure, feather meal, blood meal, bonemeal, organic dairy compost, crabmeal,or just plain compost. Thanks for watching and have a blessed day!
Hi there! I'm a new subscriber and working on a video about the nutritional decline of store-bought vegetables and the importance of adding trace elements to garden beds. Your plants look incredibly healthy and vibrant. Can I use some of your footage in my project?
Approximately 9" in row spacing and one row on both sides of the drip tape, the drip tape is 24" apart,I wouldn't go any closer than 24". May God bless you!
We call them earwigs around here and they are a terrible pest on a lot of my plants! This year I have been making up a solution of 40 ml of diatomaceous earth to a L (quart) of water, that’s 120 ml per gallon and spraying it on my vulnerable plants. It really seems to be a great organic solution. It becomes effective once it dries. If it rains you need to reapply. I try to keep it off flowers to avoid hurting bees. 🐝
If you're referring to earwigs yes we have plenty but they don't seem to do any real damage, if your biology is good and the plant isn't stressed in other ways pests really aren't a problem, there's always a reason why pests do damage as they are the garbage collectors, they're getting rid of sick unhealthy plants.
Pincher bug is a kindergarten term, I’m located just below the 49th parallel in Ontario, Canada, earwigs have forced me to stop using leaves as mulch to not provide a cool environment for them during the heat of day. Earwigs love pepper plants and actually bore holes in a few of the fruits each year, quite frustrating.

We've grown Patterson for many years but we're trying a new one this year, well let you know what we think at harvest time, may God bless you!
