You've made my day. It's always a wonderful day when you post a video. Hope everyone is well. I hope your lil man is letting you sleep more. Have a great day.
Beautiful garden... reminds me of all the gardens my parents and grandparents had when i was growing up, and seeing your kids working in garden took me back to helping when I was a kid. When my grandparents got too old to do it themselves, we kids planted and tended the garden ourselves, with my grandpas direct supervision (he never got to old to supervise and share his wisdom) I love seeing when people grow a more traditional garden like most people used to do.
The garden looks beautiful. I so impressed with your enthusiasm when so much to preserve and succession planting is still at your feet. Thanks for sharing your hard work. Be well!
You guys are so inspiring, glad your next video came out today as I’m at the hospital with my 97 yr old grandma and we love gardening and it was a wonderful distraction and blessing.❤ it is winter here so we are looking forward to planting vegetables soon
Wow...my favourite video of all so far...I love your garden vids...could U please do one like this but ten times longer hahahhaha. I just love your content, brightens my day
Your garden /home is developing so well, and even with the new addition of baby your still doing so well and we can see the fruits of your labour of love in the garden 😊👍
Your garden is lovely! It’s definitely a challenge to garden with little ones ❤. I would love to see a video that showed the details on your irrigation setup. I’m wanting to install one in my garden for next year and need all the tips!
We got a lot of cucumbers too, and since I only planted English cucumbers this year, our neighbors has been blessed with a lot. We got just under 400 of them. For the first time, I also made freezer pickled cucumbers. I am very excited to see how those turn out. I am also pickling cherry tomatoes for the first time, since those are giving us a lot this year. I have removed my cucumber plants, since they were done, and have planted melons instead. We will have hot/warm weather until November, so it should be enough time for them to grow and set fruit.
I love that your entire family is so involved in your homesteadig. Your kids are so active in this life and gardening.it's so refreshing to see this, so many would not even touch a plant let alone get their hands dirty and be digging around for their food. Great job on The gardening and raising your family.
Your garden is looking beautiful and seeing all your harvesting is such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing, I am always happy to see a new video pop up!
Any chance of video on storage including potatoes, how long your crop lasts or do you freeze dry or preserve to get through the year? Watching from New Zealand. Love Seasonal Homestead! Thanks for all your posts…
We just keep losing plants as rain continues to be elusive, we ended up losing every zucchini plant and got 5 or 6 zucchinis, tomatoes we should have harvested 100lbs by now and have harvested maybe 4lbs. Not a single pumpkin or melon yet, maybe a dozen cucumbers, no peppers harvested. Rotten year. 😭And day 136 of unemployed life.
I was about to comment on the distinctive shape of the Rose Of Milan ... and then it was confirmed. A great Onion choice. We do about 800 Onions for the year. Half are Rossa di Milano.
Are you going to be taking part in the 'Preserving the Harvest Every Day in August" I started watching various channels taking part last year. Three Rivers Homestead and Living Traditions Homestead are the ones I watch most. Just wondering is all. Thank you for the video and also, thanks for putting the date stamp for the various times certain things were done. Your hard work is greatly appreciated.
Love those channels! We naturally preserve a little bit each day all summer. It’s the best way to get a big amount preserved for winter without the overwhelm. I’ve never formally participated in the challenge just because I’m already doing it.
So if you take a piece of thick wire and you make like a swirl on the bottom and having the other end stickup Street what you do is you poke your onion stem into that middle piece and slide it down and you make every other one I think I'm explaining that right but anyways you do that and you can cut the ends of the onions prior to doing that or you can cut it when it's on that bunch it's almost like braiding it
@@TheSeasonalHomestead It would cost about a quarter of what you paid for that freeze dryer. 164 foot rolls are around $200. You also have to consider the cost of materials and the hours upon hours of wasted labor growing those plants only to be eaten by the wildlife.
@@waynespringer501 Yes, true. But I already have a welded wire fence that keeps out the big wildlife so what I will likely do is add a hot wire along base of the fence or maybe even some chicken wire, for a fraction of the price. We already have a hot wire at the top for raccoons. The other pest I've had is voles! Lucky for me, a stray cat has made a home under our new shed and its picking them off :)
Provider Bush beans are a very good choice. You grow a few varieties that are my favs. Sweet potatoes don't stand much of a chance in the midwest with all the deer pressure. Cucumbers are the same but cucumber beetle is the worst. You are doing very good things here. ❤
Wonderful video! Becky, can I ask what brand/style of muck boots you have for the garden? I can't find ones I love and I like the look of yours (sidenote : I'd be a fan of a video of your garden wear/gear you love!)
Maybe sometime you could show us the details of your irrigation system. It looks like you use a lot of drip irrigation. I searched the UA-cam site and it seems this topic has not been covered in the past.
this is so beautiful. I hope i can make my own homestead with my hubby soon! What state do y'all live in? weve been looking for good states to homestead in
Yes! Actually it’s slightly less… 10,000 square feet in that garden. We have a second garden next to it (same size) but it’s only been used for cover crops and kids gardens so far.
Love your videos - a good mix of artistry and always learn something! How do you accomplish such a full zinnia hedge row? Do you just mass plant/sprinkle seeds directly in row? Thanks!!
The Buckwheat……why would you grow it, then crimp and tarp it? Do you harvest any wheat from it? I’m totally ignorant about stuff like that, so I don’t understand….thanks to anyone who can answer that.
What state is this? You guys seem to have a mild summer compared to GA. The only reason we'd wear long sleeves is to keep the mosquitos off, it's hot and humid here!
It’s Arkansas. We’ve been over 100 degrees for the past couple weeks. High humidity too. Video was shot in the morning when it wasn’t as hot. I do wear long sleeves a lot more often now when I garden even in the heat because I don’t like the itchy arms from weeding and picking squash and tomatoes.
Why don’t you use the green onions portion of the onions? I saw another UA-cam just drying them as well. You can chop them up and freeze to use for cooking.
There are two things that you could do did keep bugs from eating your vegetable 🥒🍆 and fruit 🍓🍑. Primanti's accident spelling it right Knoebels walking stick bug. And the one that I use in my garden is ladybugs . You can buy them an order by hundreds or thousands ladybug 🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞. You will not have no pest 🪳🦟
Drip lines are on four different zones. Right now we have 12-18 100 foot long drip lines on a zone. We get 15 gpm from our well. I’m still testing it out, I think I need to drop to 10 lines a zone for optimum watering.
Everything looks soooo beautiful ❤️ I have a question, though. Do you experience any bruising on your potatoes? Because I have heard they bruise pretty easily and seeing the kids throw them like rocks really freaks me out 🤷🏼♀️ I'm sorry
Haha! It would definitely be nice if they were more gentle. I think they were more concerned about getting the job done 🤣We didn't have any bruising, at least as far as I know.
@alindalt2897 it threw me off when she was talking about being in the south. I'm in Georgia and we don't get snow in the winter. I just had it in my head that was where they were lol. The south definitely has places that get snow even if my corner maybe gets some once a decade or less
Garden production area is 100ft x 100ft. 10,000 square feet is less than a quarter acre. I do have a second garden seen in above shot (same size) but it’s only been used for cover crops and kids gardens so far.

Love the Pampers box window shade!!! Life with a baby!😂
Gardening is like going on a Treasure hunt that you create!
Valuable treasure with life lessons along the way. 😀

Just found your podcast. Love everything !! I’m LDS too. God bless your family❤️
Podcast? So they have a podcast as well?
Yay! I can’t wait for all the preserving videos to come! ❤
I'm amazed at all the different things you grow!
The diaper boxes on the windows made me laugh because I use diaper boxes for everything 😂😂😂 they are such good boxes!
Love watching the kids working together 😊
Love your videos!! The kids are getting so tall!!
What a joy to watch your bountiful garden 😍😍😍 Thank you for sharing 👏👏👏 Love from the UK x

Love seeing a new video from you! Please keep them coming :D Makes me so happy to see you all living the dream!
We're super jealous of your watering system... Gonna go for it next year!
Beautiful garden. So nice and clean looking. Some people I watch plant and their gardens are covered with weeds. Good job.
Beautiful Garden! Love seeing the family harvesting. 💜🦋
Lots of hard work. Well done to you all. Beautiful garden and productive
I love your videos!! They make my day and inspire me! Thank you for sharing!
Would you ever do a video teaching how you plan out your rows?
Beautiful garden tour is very fertile..wish you success and be healthy always
Love your garden & what you've all accomplished together❤
Lol I save beans in my back pocket too! Just shows the love!
Wow, that’s a lot of asparagus! I was excited for the tiny patch that came with our new house. I guess I need to expand on it.
Awesome video and garden tour! (You look incredible by the way - it always took me closer to a year to look more of myself after having a baby!)
Absolutely incredible.
Beautiful. You and your family work very hard!
Hello Janice
How are you doing today?
3:51 what is that tool? It look like it is a hand powered tiller?? Please tell me where to get one. Thank you! Great video!
Looks like you all really have had great harvest, fantastic.
Hello Karen
How are you doing today?
With your abundance of cukes try FD then thinly sliced with hidden valley ranch dry mix. So good!
Curing potatoes that way looks very interesting that might be worth its own video

Correction: we have harvested some super chillis but nothing mild.
Hello, I really love your garden. You're doing an amazing job. Can you make a video about the tools you're using in your garden?
I can say that after 4 years i have again enought cucumbers for pickleing.. Hello from Czech :D
Outstanding family amazing kids!!!😇😇😇
Wow that is amazing and Impressive !!!! Sure looks like more than a 1/4 acre though ?? Well done !!
for your squash bugs, have you tried spraying tea tree oil on it? also good for lace
great video, great sucsesful crop, well done thank you for sharing

Premier 1 electric poultry fence solve my rabbit, squirrel, and raccoon problems, none of them will come anywhere close to my garden now.
I love that idea, but it would be so expensive for my garden! 800 ft of fencing to go all the way around the perimeter 😬
I've considered that for putting around my fruit trees when they're in season.

If that honeypatch squash is anything like the honeycup we get from our CSA, it is so good!
Hello Elizabeth

Love the garden tour, your all are amazing! Do the kids like helping? Guess they like to eat😊

My cukes are the same- taking over!
sheep, green corn or other plants can be used as feed

do you have a video on your first year of homesteading? would be helpful to know how much you've evolved since then.
Yes, if you go to our playlists, we have one titled “gardening year 1”
We have been homesteading on a small scale for many years before we moved to our current property though.
Wonderful! ❤️
Love your content. Where do you purchase your cover crop seeds from?
Wow beautiful 😊
Excellent video.
How are y'all liking the flavor of the peacevine tomatoes and how big a packet did it take to plant that many zinnias? They are Beautiful
PLEASE SHARE THIS; THERE IS A VIDEO CALLED BACK TO EDEN. IT TEACHES NO WATER GARDENING. YOU CAN ALSO PUT A FOOT OF LEAVES AROUND ANY BASE...
Would have loved to see ur harvest videos ❤
this is so beautiful. I hope i can make my own homestead with my hubby soon! What state do y'all live in? weve been looking for good states to homestead in

Hi Becky! I’m wondering if you’ve considered running chickens over your garden in a chicken tractor.
What are the brown boots you’re eating in the video?
Fun video.
The Buckwheat……why would you grow it, then crimp and tarp it? Do you harvest any wheat from it? I’m totally ignorant about stuff like that, so I don’t understand….thanks to anyone who can answer that.
