While not technically an ADV bike, adventure is what you make it. Mike proves that, indeed, the nc750x is an adventure bike if you want it to be. Iv'e watched a lot of technical reviews of this bike, but this is the best. Covered in mud and dropped a few dozen times ... now that's a true test of its metal.

My 2013 NC700 has done 150,000km, never cleaned, never repaired, never dropped. Chains last 50,000, and I change the oil every 40,000km, and it's still good. Mobil 1 only. 80 to 85 mpg. It's been awesome. A bit heavy and gutless, let down by cheap brakes and suspension, but awesome value and economy. All commuting in New Zealand.

Your videos and updates are one of the reasons I trust my NC so much. It has 116,000 KM, which might seem like a lot to people who ride bikes fron a different brand, but for the NC it's practically nothing.
Ride safe, and keep up with the good content!

Hi Mike - one of your earlier videos inspired me to buy this bike midway through 2020 as a retirement gift to myself. I have the DCT version. I've only done about 6500 kms due to having a couple of non bike related accidens over the past 18 months. Last week I undertook a crazy trip. Although British by birth I've been based in Mexico for half of my life and a couple of weeks back I undertook a rush round trip from Mexico City to McAllen, Texas to buy a drone - a DJI Mini 3 Pro - and save around 30% avoiding paying import duities. The round trip was 2,400 kms traveling most of the time at maximum highway speeds in hot and windy conditions both at day and night. With a few rest stops on the way and a couple of hours of sleep during he early morning hours I covered the round trip in just a shade over 54 hrs. The bike never faulted and gave me a consumption of 3.4 liters of gas per 100 kms. Love my bike. Its a pleasure to ride and is totally reliable.
    Great review MIke.

I have mentioned this on a few other channels that make reference to you and your trustworthy NC750X, but you are a "walking & talking" infomercial for this Honda bike, & for the dependability of Honda motorcycles in general. At the very least, and my view on this subject is hardly unique, but I am shocked that Honda is not sponsoring your adventures & providing you with a new NC750X. Your riding experiences and ongoing product testimonials, are without any doubt, the most significant reasons why I've decided to purchase this specific "Mak Mak" motorbike. Chok dee Mike!

    Hey Mike,
Just got to this video. Man, am I impressed or what! There are soooooo many other types and makes of bikes that sure seem that would make for better suited for your needs. But, you've chosen the NC750X and, the DCT model too, YAHOOOO! I had an '18 Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT and loved it. But after about 3 years and only 7,500 miles, I determined it was just plain too big. I have replaced it with a 2020 NC750X DCT and have only had it for a couple of weeks.
So far, I'm totally happy with this NC. I know this is not important to you but, the bike I bought was ALL BLACK when I purchased it and I hate black but, it was the only one available in the western part of the U.S that fit the bill for me. So, I bought it. I just finished reassembling it due to me painting all the black parts. Now, it looks like a motorcycle to me, not a black blob. Anyway, back to you and your adventures and your analysis of the NC750X. You have confirmed what I've seen so many times in videos. And that is the fact that about 99.999% of the riders and testers of the NC750X (and the DCT) are totally happy with it.
You have stated that you have been on many, many trips to various places. That is absolutely great. I never want to know anyones personal life but, may I ask what you do or did for a living to be able to afford not only the cost of ALL those trips but, also to have the time available for each one? I envy the heck out of you Sir. We (the Wife and I) live in the Sw part of AZ in the U.S.A. and not much by way of scenery here but, it's what we have so, we enjoy what we can. Thanks so much for a detailed review and being a confirmed NC rider.

I can afford this lifestyle because I live in Thailand where the cost of living is at least half of what I would spend in Canada.
I also ride a CRF 250l which I love to ride when I go to Laos or less traveled roads, it is super light in comparison, but I still plan to use my n.c. until it dies or maybe it will be me first!!!!!
Enjoy your adventure and ride safe

Hello from South Africa ...thank you for making this video . i currently ride a CBX250Twister , it's my going to work motorbike . i'm looking into the NC750DCT model for the past year now and i am quite confident enough to purchase one for myself after watching your video here (if GOD ALMIGHTY WILLS),as soon as i have enough money . i was worried that the DCT gearbox would not be as reliable as a manual . turns out its perfectly fine . i only put about 1000km a year on my current motorbike , i wonder how much more riding I'll do when i buy my NC750X .

    I have two NC bikes, a 2013 NC700S with now 121.000 km and a 2014 NC750S with 41.000 km.
These bikes are the best combination of durability, longevity, practicality, simple straight forward maintenance and fuel efficiency.
I have decided long ago to never sell them since there aren't any better alternatives on the market.

Thank you for the review, in comparison with your NC mine it's still a baby at 41,000 Km 😁. Nice to hear that your bearings lasted so much, are you using the OEM bearings? Could you please provide us a link with the brand of the front suspension? How are your TKC tyres on wet tarmac, can you rely on them? Many thanks again for your review, it's so motivating to see the reliability of the NC. Greetings from Romania!

    • @mikefreeriderAsia
      @mikefreeriderAsia  2 роки тому +10

Thank you for your kind words, bearings are hit and miss,on my CB500X they only lasted 35,000 km on the rear so you try to avoid high pressure washing around that area and keep your chain adjusted properly so it doesn't put too much pressure on the bearings. The suspension is from YSS Thailand , I'm sure you can find their web page if not contact me because the suspension could be a little different for different model year.
I really love the TKC tires , my first set was TKC 80s which are awesome in all conditions but the rear will not last very long approximately 10,000 K , so the last two sets I used the TKC 70 on the back , which lasts much longer. I also ran a pair of continental trail attack 3 which is a road tire Great in all conditions except for anything off-road. I've tried Dunlop, pirelli, Metzler, Heideneau, Shinko, and Mitas, but I love the Continentals. Please ride safe and give her good maintenance and she'll give you good performance

I really like what Honda has introduced to the market with this bike. I think many people don't fully comprehend the design goals Honda was aiming for with this bike. Easy handling and economical in every way; affordable price, great fuel consumption, easy to maintain and long maintenance intervals. Have you ever had to remove or disconnect the fuel tank for maintenance purposes? Ever had to take the front trunk of for any reason? What other bike in the world can run for 200.000 km without the need to disconnect the fuel tank even once? I love what you've done to the bike and how you are proving all the marketing surrounding the "true" adv bikes is just a bunch of nonsense. The first time it fell under warranty, so no big deal but the second time i've had to pay full price... Other than that, also a great bike for typical european roads and road touring. I'm planning to buy the X version when i get tired of mine. I agree 100% that the DCT is awesome. Since 2016 they did a revision of the DCT and they absolutely nailed it. This is my 16th set of tires and these are my favorites. Well the screen I actually just replaced it with an original one that I found on Lazada because you couldn't even see through it anymore it turned white. But definitely a lot of options regarding the screen.. I did a little modification on the seat because I'm only 5'4 but it's the original seat and I use a comfy cheek seat pad on long rides but lately I won't even need it cuz my ass is just like leather and I just completed an 800 km charity ride in one day without even having any issues with my ass.

Also a good time to replace the fork caps with fork caps with a 1" (approximately) additional length to stiffen that front fork.
Hope to see you around Thailand.
