Why oh why oh why does Honda keep missing this - 1. CRUISE CONTROL!! - 2. TFT Screen with smart Phone connectivity - Its a deal breaker for millions of people around the world. These items are becoming the norm on budget bikes so why the hell Honda keep missing this is beyond me. There are enough videos and complaints on YT to substantiate this comment. Rant over, great video as always, thank you.

And, add heated grips and panniers plus 5 move HP for highways. I had an NT700V with shaft drive and it was bullet proof / maintenance free - great for winter commuting. Also, move the gas cap from under the rear seat to the side so you can fill up without removing stuff tied down - like camping and rain gear. Overall, its a boring bike but for hard everyday use and weekend trips, boring is exactly what you want.

I have had every kind of bike, so far this is my favorite. It has the low end feel of my XS650, only with more power, and the freeway at 70mph is nowhere as buzzy as my V-storm was. It is not a dual sporrt in the same way the the V-storm was a dual sport. It's too low for that, but fire breaks and gravel roads it's ok. You'll need a skind plate for more than that, but light ADV is no problem. All the power is on the low and mid range of the curve which is nice, and it is nowhere near as top heavy as the V-Strom. I can flat foot the ground most of the time. I used sport mode in the twisties, and switch to eco on the flat or freeway, I get about 68 mpg with a 50/50 combination of modes. Gas mileage is best under 70 miles an hour, and it is very smooth on the freeway. It steers a little heavy, but that may be the stock tires, which are really soft and close to the wear bars at 3300 miles. It is worth the price? Yeah it is. DCT takes some getting used to but it shifts faster and better that I would.

I am currently in market and looking to add possibly a dual sport or adv touring and then this ole girl pops up 🤗. The 750X has so much to offer that she’s a top 3 and really making it difficult to decide 🧐. So much to offer in an unpretentious extremely affordable option that checks off so many boxes, all while being made by one of the most reliable companies on the market. Sooooo many decisions 😱 Thank you for sharing 🙏👍🏻🤘🏻

Just discovered you channel and a fan, nicely different content. I have an ‘18 with a DCT but won’t change. Lowering it and making the already marginal room backside to feet still smaller is a deal breaker for this 6’2” guy, shame though as the improved seat and reduced weight are a step in the right direction.

Hello Scott. Another essential presentation that proves that you have nothing to prove!
A friend of mine has the 1st version of the 700 cubic centimeters without the DCT gearbox. He recently covered 300,000 km without having "open" the engine. The reliability of this particular motorcycle is representative of the old honda. Of course the reduced horsepower helps in this direction. Maybe engine torque is a fair compensation for the lack of power.
It would be very interesting to have a presentation of you with her hybrid sister who listens to the name X=ADV.
I will once again praise the kindness you show to the people who watch your channel!
Thank you and I send you warm greetings from Greece.

HONDA'S NCs are an unusual range of motorcycles. For a start they've got an engine based on a car's. The starting point for the parallel-twin design was half a Honda Jazz engine. They have the character of a car engine too, with a bland power curve to a lowly 6,500rpm red line.

I use my cruise control without ceasing to prevent me from getting tickets just out of carelessness. Really too bad. I'm otherwise sold. Come on, Honda, now that it is ride by wire, cruise control is just software and a switch. :-(

Spent sometime on a 2021 DCT model and I thought it would be an excellent commuter and sound all around bike. The bike was my friend’s motorcycle but disturbingly enough it would it would stop on occasion intermittently after a complete stop while applying the throttle. Honda USA gave him the run around and never addressed the problem. He sold the bike because he was afraid of an accident and a three weeks after that he found out that Honda acknowledged the problem after a few law suits. If your buying this bike do your due diligence or consider a non dct. I have lost faith in Honda after my buddy’s experience. I enjoy your videos, thanks.

Hi! Thanks for the videos and for putting in the efforts to share all the nice information. I have 2 questions for you, if you may please answer:
    1) I am going to be moving to Hamburg (Germany) for long term and would really like this motorcycle as a daily commuter + weekend tourer. I ride a Suzuki GS150R at my home country and am planning for the NC750x DCT version with restriction kit for A2 licence (once I obtain it after moving to Germany). Question is - could you please give me some guidance regarding the approximate cost of ownership of a motorcycle this size (insurance, maintenance cost from OEM, any taxes or other costs?) That will be helpful because at the moment I can't seem to find much information about it.
    2) Will it be possible to ride this motorcycle during the winters in Hamburg Germany? The place where I live right now doesn't get any snow at all and I know that the northern German winters are quite harsh. I have to figure out if this bike can be used for commuting all year round (I read that a different set of tyres are used on cars during winter but most motorcycles are just parked away on garage for the winter)
Would be great to hear your thoughts. Thanks a lot. Regards and best wishes

Riding a r1200gs now it will get used to the lack of power, but it all makes it good when the Honda only has to go to the workshop for its oil change where the BMW sometimes lives in the workshop (Beemer quality is inferieur to Honda quality). Well, I didn't do all touring on a tank so it was really a mix of both town/country. BUT with the longer gears 4, 5 & 6 (DCT) it should do better on a tour. So typical is 400km/250mi on a tank, depending on your driving habits 🤔

Yea, I have a problem getting my helmet into a lot of bikes hard cases, even when they say "fits a helmet" sometimes for me...sigh...no...this was one of those, I mean, I can force it but why make it right at the limit, just a little bigger and it would be perfect. 😒🙄
But other than that, I really do like this bike now!

So in reality you could turn that 23 Ltr storage space into another fuel tank up another 22 Ltr's and have a MASSIVE 36.1 Ltr fuel onboard via the two tanks.
I'd go down that road if I ever purchased one, but I would guess it would rule out any off road action then given the extra weight and top heaviness.

    • @NothingToProve

Tracer7 is not a crossover bike. It's a flat out sport touring bike with no ADV intention at all. And this is not me saying this, this is the OEM, Honda and Yamaha. But I kind of agree with you if I were shopping I'd consider both bikes.

I'm looking to replace my 1998 Honda ST 1100. It's just too much motorcycle for me now that I am over 60. Can you recommend a replacement, something later that is a sport tour and perhaps with a little less power? Many thanks, take care. And by the way I really like your , they are always very informative.

    • @NothingToProve

Hey, I had a 2001 Honda ST1100 back in 2001! Loved the bike although a little heavy compared to todays bikes like the BMW 1250 RT. The 1250RT is 45kg/90lbs lighter than the ST. So you might want to consider that, I loved it so much that I bought one. I did a 6 month review of mine: ua-cam.com/video/KEA4aGj6Jec/v-deo.html
I am finding the weight of this bike low and easy to handle, I'm 55yrs old, so we are not that far apart 😁
If you want to go even lighter/smaller, Yamaha 900 Tracer or BMW 900XR or to the ADV side the Triumph Tiger 900. Those 3 are 100kg/200lbs lighter than the ST1100.
      take care,
      Scott

@@NothingToProve yeah, thanks Scott. Good advice. Always a pleasure watching your reviews and easygoing Style. I've watched a lot of reviews on the 900 tracer but I am thinking BMW my last time around. I'll probably take a look at your recommendation for the 900 XR and see if I can dress it up with some hard case saddlebags and a bigger screen. Will probably need some hand protectors as well. Take it from me, you're in for a big change from 55 to 62. And my brother tells me I'm in for another big change from 62 to his age, 70. I think they call it just getting old. Thanks again and take care.

The lower seat height on this update makes it much more appealing to me as a short rider. I wish it had a touch more power though. I've been wanting a z900 or GSX-S750 for awhile now for that reason. But this Honda does make a strong argument as a commuter.

    • @NothingToProve

Hmm...for trips the Versys all the way but for town then I'd take this. Oh boy, you have a dilemma. Both are bulletproof reliable but the Honda has better build quality and a more solid feel to it but the Versys is lighter and has a lighter turn-in and is a bit more nimble. Looks wise, which is very subjective, they both look good but the Versys cockpit is getting a bit dated.
