It's a fact - they may not be at the technological leading edge, but there is NO doubt... the single-seat MiG-29 and Su-27 are the two most beautiful fighter jets ever made.
Agreed. The ugly little F-16 was easy to beat with the MiG-29 aesthetically, but the Eagle is beautiful. The Soviets had to make the most beautiful jet of all time to edge it out. The Su-27 is menacing in a primal way, like a Klingon Warbird from Star Trek
Could you explain a couple of real ATC videos? The terminology and timing is confusing. So having you call some of their plays would reallybe informative and entertaining.@MaxAfterburnerusa
I remember reading after the fall of the Soviet Union and Poland joined NATO they let a F-16 Pilot fly a Mig-29 and he said the F-16 had better electronics but in a dog fight the Mig-29 would win. The Mig-35 is a improved Mig-29!
I'm sorry but the Fulcrum series of planes are just sexy as hell. I remember the first time I saw a MiG-29 and I just fell in love. It's on my list there with the P-51; F-14 & F-15. They simply project power with finesse as well.
I like this channel. It is about the airplanes not a d measuring contest. Like su57 kills all f22, or su57 is worse than the f4 phantom and uses duck tape to fly. My experience with most channels.
8:07 his minimal speed during that pass was 190 km/h, slightly below 120 mph. Also, the MiG-29OVT with 360-degree thrust vectoring flew quite well, you should check it out.

Awesome critique Ryan, like always on point. your knoledge and training shows on your explinations of the task you choose to deliver. As an old retired police officer from the City of Miami and also with expirience in aviation as an airframe and powerplant mechanic since the late 1980's, performing overhauls to the P&W J79 motor also the JT3 and JT8 and some CFM56 from GE. and to close 50 hrs of prfivate pilot lessons from a school in the Opalocka Airport "Burnside Ott". You make and old man smile remembering those good old days. I thank you for that Sir. Keep up the good work.youre an awesome example to all who served in our Military👍. God be with you.
this, alongside the multiplying annual production numbers for the su-57 seem to indicate that russia has made decent progress on solving the production bottleneck caused by the lack of western components. really nice to see.
It also comes down to the skill level of the stick operator. You can have a plane with exceptional ability, but if your pilot is not good, it won’t matter.
Basically it's the Russian Federation's production version of the Soviet-made MiG-29. Russia has given a new designation for many Soviet-made vehicles that it started to produce again.
Russian military aircraft are painted in a camouflage pattern, the upper part is for when the aircraft is parked at the airport, and the lower part is for when it is flying to blend in with the airspace and be as invisible as possible from the ground. That's why there is a difference in the colors, and yes, the lower part is painted!
Ex-Aus Infantry here. four trips. I've always had a keen interest in aviation, and finding your channel this month has been remarkably entertaining. The DCS + commentary is peak fangirling from me, and whilst humorous and entertaining, it is surprisingly educational, and I can appreciate the dichotomy of seriousness when needed, and the rest being ball-tearing jokes. In saying that, keep it up Freddie XD!
Oh, and for funsies, I could give you some real world contact narratives whereby we called in CAS for you to roleplay. DCS has the exact locations for the firefights, and i've got a pretty sharp memory, and as a fireteam commander the CAS was often requested by myself or a peer, meaning I had a fair whack of SA as to enemy force composition and movements. If you feel like doing a roleplay for 2010, Uruzgan province? RAF Tornado, USAF A-10, and USAF F15 are three separate contacts with tallied targets across those airframes... HMU if you want :)

I find it funny when an American sees Russian-invented airplane moves and calls them American names. As if Americans invented them. Americans are good at PR and self-deceiving, I’ll give them that. 😂
One of my favorite things is when I can click on a fellow American's video analysis, and have so much faith in his judgement and perspective and neutrality and critical and insightful thinking...that I can just hit like before the video even loads. I really love that. Thanks Mr. Afterburner Your name reminds me of one of my cat's names, I named him Tumansky R-29 Turbojet. Yes it was worth the few moments of eye-glowing recognition of nerdiness. Unless they’ve edited it out pixel wise, they have done a good job getting rid of the smoke the old R33s emited. Really the MiG-29K, the Dassault Rafale M & the FA-18 would make a good comparison.
ASMR of jet engines... I do not think I have seen that. I am, however, keenly aware that there is an eight hour F-16 cockpit background noise video that UA-cam really, REALLY wants me to watch. I can count on it being prominently displayed in my recommendations list every time I so much as look at the thumbnail for a video about airplanes, or about DCS, or about airplanes in DCS ... especially airplanes in DCS.

I really enjoy your positive and high spirited takes on all jets no matter where they come from. It shows that you just love aviation.
Because we real pilots love all airplanes, we have aviation blood, we are not "fighters game players and haters" from behind the computer :)
@ I’ve see at least one real pilot channel where they can’t bring themselves to appreciate the plane because it’s “communist” :)
Ya that why we will watch it but once they start we we we the best all other crap, I leave the channel

Maybe Canada might need a few, given the current state of relations.
Canada should threaten to enter into a military alliance with Russia and have Russian bases along the USA border. Hardball!

I'm pretty sure they started serial production of the MiG-35 in Oct to bolster regional air defense and replace older MiG-29's.
