You'd be surprised how "fast" this "extension of your body" can occur. From everyday life, when you drive, don't you feel the same way with your car as an extension of your body? If not, don't consider becoming a fighter pilot! 😂 It could occur within 2-3 years, and interestingly, the min time for training combat certified pilots in the USAF is around 3 years if public information is correct.
Find, if you have the opportunity, the answers of the test pilot Bogdan about what this aircraft is designed for and what maneuvers it performs (what these maneuvers are for).
Well a lot of people have the credentials to be labeled a professional, yet they are ignorant as a brick wall. Still he had a very non biased review of what he was seeing!
Keyboard warrior here. If I'm being honest, i would have given very similar feedback. To channel the late great Denny Green, when it comes to the Su-57, it is what we thought it was.

Great info. Sad. 71 is still pretty young. The insane thing are those claiming it has a 0.1 meter RCS. The freaking scaled up 1970s Super Hornet + RAM has a sub meter RCS, yet, PFA, chimes + RAM = 0.1 !? I'd bet $$ that it was the geometric RCS excluding RAM, as geometry is visible, and RAM is materials tech that required say ... the shooting down of an F-117 for China, Russia and likely Iran to get it's RCS info.

Very good neutral analysis. He did the cobra at 8.42 min . Sergei Bogdan is 62 years old and is the sukhoi factory test pilot . he fly the t50 (prototype nr4 ) during airshows . When he flew his demo all activities stopped on the ground . It was that impressive. Best solo display i ever saw . You can find that demo on UA-cam. Le bourget Paris airshow has a UA-cam channel .
I wonder if Mr. Bogdan gets special aircraft flight envelope expansion programed into the aircraft he flies? It would be interesting to learn about flight envelope expansion based on demonstrated pilot proficiency and improvement. The better you get the more aircraft performance you get. Presuming that an SU57 is similar to an F22 or F35---a computer with wings and engines.
@@LoserDestiny That's not strictly true, if you examine the wing root and box they are fundamentally different, but it is built with the same goals, just with a slightly reduced radar cross section. You seem confused. Critiquing the reality of the Su-57 program (they simply can't produce them at any meaningful number) is not the same as 'dissing russia', it's commenting on reality. Much like the Armata, performance in a show is really unimportant - They remain prototypes.

Russia has 32 su57 in total(9 prototypes out of 10 as one crashed and remaining 23 production varient) further more orders have been stopped as airforce wants it with new stealth al51 or izdeliye 30 engines which is also the most powerful engines on fighters producing peak wet thrust of 171 kilonewtons each and its bit smaller than al41 on su35. But Sukhoi has said that they'll continue producing the airframe of su57 but will deliver it when engine will be ready in 2nd quarter of 2025. Also they've got export order so they don't want to stop production and keep on the production rate like f35 or else it'll turn out like rafale where they've so many orders but production rate of 12-14 per year
They have 20+ Production Su-57's and 10 prototype T-50's which are each dedicated to specific systems testing, the one you most often see at airshows is the Engine test bed, They have even done airshows with 1 test engine and 1 prototype Izdeliye 30 engine, which is hugely impressive. It has 6 radars. Nose mounted, L&R Cheeks , K or L band in the wings and one set in the tail stinger. 360 degree coverage though the Stinger one apparently is more EW focused. It also has DIRCM for anti-IR missiles as well as the usual massive amount of flares and chaff. Its an amazing jet
The F-22 achieves ALL of that with sensor fusion. Why are we impressed by the SU-57 needing 6 seperate radars because they couldn't figure out fusion? 😂 Why are we impressed with IR systems or chaff and flares? Is this what we have to do to be impressed by Russian aircraft? Act like these things, that have already been done for years, are impressive somehow? It's Child's Play to the U.S
Having multiple radars for different purposes isn’t that unusual. Multiple smaller radars are for example used as part of the EuroDASS Praetorian of the Eurofighter, the AN/ASQ-239 Barracuda of the F-35 or the AN/ALR-94 of the F-22.
"It has 6 radars." Correction, it has 6 radars that we KNOW about. And 5 of them can overlap in a narrow nosecone to provide extremely powerful fused radar pictures, while 3 of them can overlap to either side from the nose to do likewise to a lesser degree. It has been speculated that there's another radar in each wing, or possibly even 2 each and possibly another 2 in the aft.
The T50 is not really a training-machine designation but rather an early pre-Su57 prototype - any they are fully functional avionics. At that point things like flash panels and rivets are not a major concern. Parts of that air plane were still handmade. The aerobatic moves also look nice but are often wasting so much energy. And yeah the Suchois in general look beautiful and nice to fly - if that translates into combat capabilities? Who cares. I am just looking forward to new nice looking planes in movies and games :)
this is a prototyp, if you watch the wings over russia documentary on the T50 they specifically show this airframe, IIRC Red 04 is the Engine prototype , it has even flown airshows with 1 prototype engine and 1 production engine...which says a lot about their trust in the AL41f's reliability.
This is a prototype, so of course it does not have a great finish. There are nearly 20 SU-57 combat built but like this T-50 they are using a stand-in engine. They are waiting on the intended engine to enter production, it offers about 15% more thrust, better economy and supercruise. They have no sanctions problem with the SU-57 just trying to keep the production busy while waiting on the engine.
Russia has likely paused production of its Su-57 stealth fighter due to the significant impact of Western sanctions, which have severely restricted access to essential components needed for the aircraft, particularly advanced electronics and manufacturing equipment; essentially "crippling" the production line.
I saw the imperfections of the SU-57 at the airshow and thought the social media reaction was a bit overblown. Since they haven't been able to enter serial production with this airframe, I figured they would have sent the least viable prototype. Didn't realize it was an entirely different version as the T-50, so thanks for that trivia!
Its not often that I comment or like a video but its so refreshing to see a professional admire the 'opposition', especially with a military subject. It says alot about your personality and how you must be an expert in your field. Fantastic video! (Uk)
The SU 57 series is built with Izhelyja Saturn 41 vector engines. The T50 series also received the AL-40 engines from the SU 35. The Saturns have a characteristic whistling sound.
The situation is typical for ussr/russia aviation. Airframe designed for engines, that are under development. And most probably will never be delivered as promised. The only way for su57 got decent engine is steal something from pratt and whitney inc. :-)
I remember reading an article a few years ago comparing Russian and US fighter jets, while there may not be a huge difference in performance and regardless of the debates on that the thing that was really surprising was the cost of certain components and instruments, while the US is paying millions on certain components for their fighters the equivalent components in Russian fighters cost next to nothing and were much simpler in design and function but performed the same. The article was basically pointing out that US military equipment manufacturers/suppliers make massive profits compared to their Russian counterparts.
The fact is that in Russia the military complex cannot increase the price of its products that it sells to the state. at the same time, these same enterprises can sell similar products to other buyers or for export equipment, several times more expensive than to the government customer.
This also includes the fact that, according to Russian military-technical doctrine, all military equipment should be manufactured and repaired as simply as possible, even in battlefield and camp conditions.
A balancing factor to this is that all Soviet/Russian aircraft are very high maintenance. This is because they have to operate in much harsher conditions than their western counterparts. So they use the cheapest parts where they know they're going to break, and design everything around it to be as easy as possible to replace. The plane itself is cheaper, but the maintenance adds up quick. Then again, it also means combat loss of an aircraft isn't nearly as big of a deal since most of the plane would be replaced soon anyway. As always it's about tradeoffs.
@@Colonel-Sigma It's still a pretty big deal if you're struggling to produce them. Thing can take $1 to make, doesn't matter if you can't produce em, yk? Also, the costs of the Russian jets aren't that much under the f-35 (and they aren't getting export orders, at least yet) and the F-35 is more modern with active developments and updates ongoing, with proven capabilities right now. As it is, we will have to wait and see what the finished SU-57 pricetag is, as it's currently speculation
I loved hearing some of your personal interjections on the moves we were seeing and how difficult it could make it for a 4th gen pilot to react to! This is definitely similar to watching the Raptor fly at shows and it never ceases to amaze me of its power and finese. The ability of both plane and pilot to excute all of those different maneuvers at such slow speed in that small of an area is mind boggling at times. Some of the things I love the most about the Raptor is its extremely quick transition from normal takeoff to full vertical and back to level flight in what seems like just a few hundred feet and inna matter of seconds. Then when it climbs vertically relatively slowly and then just backflips in what seems like the very same spot🤯
Sure. Electronic warfare can degrade long-range capabilities. Also not all conflicts involve high-end missiles. Or it can be urban or crowded airspace, which also limit long-range engagement. This is similar to how battleships initially thought long-range guns would make close combat obsolete, but reality proved more complex.
all the fancy maneuvers are very relevant for avoiding the incoming missile by confusing it's guidance system and not giving it enough time to readjust.
with both opposing jets being somewhat low-observable, and radars being able to pick you up at 20-40 miles without AWACS or Ground Radar, dogfights may become a real scenario again. So it makes sense to have a decent dogfighting capability, which both the Su-57 as well as the F-22 have.
The "SU" line of modern jets are sexy. The airshow stuff is definitely impressive but the chance of these guys making to a merge in today's tech is very slim. Love watching it tho.
You don't quite understand the Russians. They rely on reliability, efficiency and low cost of production. They don't need one high-tech plane worth a billion dollars that will be shot down by a $10,000 missile.
"but the chance of these guys making to a merge in today's tech" Dude, they wont be making it to a merge, because they already shot everything down that was coming at them. Why don't you go look up the Nato evaluation of Soviet equipment from when they got their hands on the real thing back when Germany was reunited? You know, the massive document where the single most common evaluation amounts to "better than Nato equivalent in every way except ergonomics". Which caused the development of the next generations of Sidewinder and AMRAAM, just as the 2 most obvious examples. In particular the Sidewinder was found to be embarassingly inferior. This was back when EVERYONE KNEW that Nato was quality and USSR was purely quantity. Whoops, turned out that outside of the propaganda hype USSR was both.

F-22 Raptor is a 22-year-old design as it was brought into production in 2001 su-57 is still under production. The F-35 can have its Electronics intercepted and overridden as was proven over the continental United States last year the F-22 and F-35 require AWACS aircraft Russian aircraft do not require that
Russia must have a lot AWACS planes that it "doesn't need" then!! Funny that they built so many expensive AWACS planes for nothing! Seriously?!? Please stop your fantasies.
@Rassah again straight from Wikipedia...the F-35 fighter jet heavily relies on communication with other aircraft to function effectively, as its design is centered around sharing real-time sensor data and coordinating attacks with other planes through advanced data links, making it a crucial part of a networked warfare strategy; it cannot operate optimally without communicating with other aircraft in a mission.
@markr.1984 Russia has a lot of different types of aircraft that uses including helicopters it needs an awac to communicate where to have refuelers for aircraft and helicopters such as the Ka-52k and to coordinate missile strikes and uavs along with its non 5th generation aircraft like their nuclear strategic bombers. None of Russia's aircraft require a data links to function effectively or independently unlike the F-35 which was recently hacked over the United States and the pilot ejected and then was flown by the hacker before they crashed it.
I like how you said that Russia did not want to risk losing a Su-57 if it crashes at the air show. I was expecting you to say something a long the lines of oh “Russia doesn’t want china to copy data and copy this that from the Su-57”. Thumbs up for that!
T in T-57 is abbreviation of Test not "Trainer" hance not aliened panels. It is testbed, prototype example. It is in the show as Suhoj concern representative not Russia representative.
2:25 what your referring to is the tail boom most SU aircraft have that most notably on the SU-34. The tail boom houses the chaff/flare dispenser, fuel jettison valve and usually a drag chute. No butt radar 😅
"I would rather fly a Raptor F22 in a dogfight with this SU57 ...." but an F16 regularly beats an F22 in any close quarters visual range dogfight. That probably makes traditional dogfights obsolete because most aerial combat would likely be beyond visual line of sight in a combined arms theatre.
Max is one of my go to aviation channels. There was an article on RT about the Su57 by a pilot who goes these air shows and, of course, the issues came up about the F-22. It appeared to me, Russian and American pilots have a great deal of respect for each other as he basically said, it's the pilot, not the machine. An average pilot flying the Su57 will have his hands full with an excellent F-16 pilot in a dogfight as you pointed out, the aircraft becomes an extended part of your body and that makes that pilot very dangerous. Lastly, there is little to no chance of Su35/57s going head to head with F-22s, it's not really the point of 5th Gen aircraft, but one thing is for sure both will have state of the art BVR capabilities so Dog fights won't happen. I wish I could find the article.
Yeah no chance because there's like a whole 12 SU-57s that are supposedly commissioned and yet that might still be a lie... I'm sure they can scramble one of those 12 planes in time right? 🤣 I can't wait to see Algeria's reaction when they realize they've been scammed LOL
"both will have state of the art BVR capabilities so Dog fights won't happen" Russia designs for high performance and agility specifically because it both increases the chance an enemy BVR attack CAN be avoided, and because they do not assume that air superiority is either a must have nor potentially even possible. And there's also EW. Greatly increasing the probability that there WILL be dogfights as well, eventually. And even if there isn't, it helps avoiding BVR attacks, so it's not a wasted ability.
I think Russia has about 20 in service of the "mass" production version. It is not just the plane, it is the missiles they carry and the little side drone that can fly with them that makes this a very interesting system they have. And I believe they have even better updated engines coming in the next year for these bad boys.
do you really think f22 is the same manuverable, or is it just a patriotism? i believe f22 has it worse, than a su27 - you guys still don't have 360-degree thrust vectoring. also do you really believe in stealth? that heat signature is glowing, bro, so there is almost zero reason to go stealth. it's just a marketing, but still su57 is stealth from below and it's where a plane should be stealth. almost zero reason to be stealth from above. keeping in mind, stealth is basically anti-aerodynamic
There's not much reason for thrust vectoring when modern air combat is done at long range. The SU will still be detected by modern radar on the F-22, while the SU-57 won't even know it's there. Even worse for the SU-57, the F-35 (and I believe F-22) can target and get a missile lock on an enemy from any direction, even if the enemy is behind. So while that SU-57 is doing fancy thrust vectoring moves, the F-22 will just lock onto it and fire on an almost still standing sitting duck of an aircraft. The SU-57 is unlikely to even get a lock. In practice fights between F-22 and other modern US fighters, other fighters couldn't get a missile lock on the F-22
@Rassah 1. When we talk specifically about maneuverability, there is a huge reason for round thrust vectoring, read and listen more carefully 2. on which data do you make any conclusions about locking targets? Especially with that radical words. Why do you state su57's inability to lock a target from behind while in the video author himself points out a huge element, most likely hiding a rear radar? P.s. I will not try to answer constructively if your response will be the same bs as this one.
@@ilyanizhnik68741) Yes there's more maneuverability. But you also have less stealth as a result because round reflects radar everywhere. And modern fighters aren't supposed to be in dog fights. 2) The data is F-22 practice fights against other US fighters. Those other US fighters had modern radars too but they couldn't get a missile lock on the F-22. Even if the SU-57 has radars all around, it probably just displays the other aircraft on screen for situational awareness. We know that F-22 has helmet mounted targeting and lock system. If you can turn your head towards it, you can see it "through" the plane and lock onto it. SU-57 doesn't have that advanced tech, just using windshield projected lock and targeting like other planes. Russia either doesn't have that technology (especially due to sanctions) or figured it's too costly to put into this plane.

The Ivs -50 flight computer controls everything from pilot input to surfaces . It’s got two of them and an anti stall computer as well . Don’t forget it’s also AI and AI assist to fly the jet ( finish testing 2016 ) . As a pilot you should understand vortex generators on the leading edge of the wing instead of canards . You’ll understand this explanation, it’s like a hoover sitting above an airfix plastic jet ( induces the main wing into an air break ) . Once people understand it’ll turn tighter by inducing so much drag then you got twin independent 3D thrust vectoring . Both engines are independent to each other and that goes for the nozzles also . The f22 just has twin fixed thrust vectoring , they not independent vectoring . So with these nozzles pointing the jet in what ever direction it’s main wing can become a flat surface. Basically if a fighters in a banked turn the felon can barrel roll as well and turn . Simplest explanation would be the felon does to modern jets what the Pitt special did to bi-planes , change the game completely. Yeah Russia didn’t just take a tech leap , they built a jet to suit bogdan’s requirements. Everyday he gets up and flys to an airport , he picks up a jumbo full of aircraft plant workers and flys them to work . He then jumps in the felon for more testing ( as far as he is concerned, you can always make things better so it will always be updated ) . Then he repeats going home , now that’s commitment to Russian airforce . When you have a great pilot and an aircraft company that works with them , sometimes something really special is created . Surely you recognise that with great American pilots in history when America produced game changer aircraft
How many seconds can planes with the letter "F" fly on the afterburner, and how many minutes can the SU-57 fly at a speed of 2000 km / h? The F-35 flies for several seconds on the afterburner, and then the stealth coating falls off (this is prescribed in the operating rules).
@@BinHandler12 please if you going to spew nonsense at least look it up first ! do you need a link to find it ? Russia doesn’t just have that in the felon , it’s also on the su35 as well . The Su-57 is a fifth-generation stealth fighter with a blended wing and body configuration. It has a range of weapons, including air-to-ground missiles, precision-guided bombs, anti-radiation missiles, and anti-ship missiles. The Su-57 is designed to be highly survivable, with a low signature and modern onboard defense complex, fuel range without refueling 2,175 miles plus the Russians NPP Zvezda K-36D-5 ejection seat meaning that the pilot can be ejected safely even if the aircraft is inverted 100 ft off the deck. The F-22 it's not equal in electronic warfare weapons, capability flight maneuverability and fuel capacity and weapons capabilities. As Russia recently demonstrated with their fourth generation. The 4 fighter jet, SU-35 fully armed escorted the president of Russia in tight formation without refueling non-stop round trip Moscow to Al-Dhafra and back. The F-22 would have required a minimum of two mid-air refueling to perform the same mission.
The 57 is not a stealth fighter, like at all. When you have exposed bolts on the fusilodge and completely exposed engines this thing would get picked up on radar and tracked 100%. The Russians themselves never said it was stealth. If they did, it was retracted pretty damn fast.
@TheMoonisFlat223 your wrong my comment is a copy and paste from Wikipedia as this: The Su-57 is the first aircraft in Russian military service designed with stealth technology and is intended to be the basis for a family of stealth combat aircraft. Just like western propaganda, they claimed it was the best tank in the world. A bradly with a TOW missile proved them otherwise.
@Rassah The Su-57 is the first aircraft in Russian military service designed with stealth technology and is intended to be the basis for a family of stealth combat aircraft... this is taken from Wikipedia also it says The Sukhoi Su-57 (Russian: Сухой Су-57; NATO reporting name: Felon)[5][6] is a twin-engine stealth multirole fighter aircraft developed by Sukhoi. The Su-57 is a fifth-generation stealth fighter. Guess you shouldn't be paying that much attention to TV such as Tom Cruise's Maverick where a tomcat shoots down two 5th gen Fighters
How many seconds can planes with the letter "F" fly on the afterburner, and how many minutes can the SU-57 fly at a speed of 2000 km / h? The F-35 flies for several seconds on the afterburner, and then the stealth coating falls off (this is prescribed in the operating rules).
This is by far now the greatest looking plane! And not only a pretty face, clearly performance in line with the best! Thanks for your un bias review, do not often get that from Americans.
With the Oreshniks, all future aviation is redundant. Apparently, that Ukrainian military factory was destroyed all the way to 4 stories underground with just kinetic energy warheads.
Keep in mind, that the defense concept of Russia relies on supersonic fighters that can cover a range from coast to coast. Speed is for this reason a value itself.
And Felon is designed to be a missile platform (thing can pack a lot) with reduced RCS capabilities as it can carry few really, really long range missiles, it doesn't need to be truly stealthy, albeit they are working on improving it. Also, the fact that Felon shot down Okhotnik over UA airspace, goes to show that 1) UA is running out of AA systems or 2) Both aircrafts are invisible to radars.
I don't think the intent was to have China purchase the Su-57, considering China already has the J-20 and soon the J-35, both land and naval variants, so why have a third one that isn't built and maintained in China. North Korea also seems unlikely, especially since their air force or more of a shoot everything and die group and not very important to their government. Iran has purchased multiple new equipment and jets from Russia though if Iran is interested in the Su-57 is debatable. From what I've heard recently Algeria seems to be the most likely buyer. I believe the purpose behind this was to show it to China's friends. From what I've seen China is doing significantly better selling their equipment than Russia, so if Russia joins the Air Show they can get those customers eyes on them. I would say though that if China is interested it may be more of a joint project to try to help the Russians bypass the corruption these companies have and make the Su-57 better and more procurable without all the hassle. I do enjoy your videos a lot and can't wait for the next one.
Highly unlikely that China would be interested. Russia invited China to join the PAK FA (now Su-57) programme early on but China declined, presumably because it already had the J-20 in development. With the J-20 and soon J-35/35A, there is really not much room for another fifth gen fighter. Not unless it can fill a different role (e.g. fighter bomber).
Many countries will want to have the Su-57. Some of the possible buyers are South Africa, Venezuela, Guatemala. Nauru may also want to buy it, which will lead to worsening relations with Australia
Bro you seriously have to watch the f-15qa eagle video that is one nasty plane also. I mean the f-15 eagle is already an amazing plane. But the maneuverability of the new eagle just kind of blew me away!
saw this Zhuhai show the other day - never been interested in aircraft displays until I saw this show. Piqued my interest so I had a look at a lot of other shows and planes. Have to say that in just aerobatics, the SU planes are far nicer to watch and behold than any other jet. The non SU jets just fly around a bit whereas the SUs are just astonishing - the contrast in the aerobatics is fairly extreme. The SUs 30 and 35 are also really good to watch. Particularly the SU30 as it is a very nice looking jet and seems compact and with the front winglets perhaps gets more control. I'm in the UK and there are the Red Arrows which is RAF supposed to do this type stuff - pretty much should just retire those planes because they are just a waste of kerosene.

@@GamingInfested if you take a stealth plane into a dogfight, you're stupid. It's like taking a sniper rifle into a close quarters firefight indoors. My point isn't "will other countries dogfight the stealth planes" it's "will the stealth planes let the other country's planes approach them to dogfight" and the answer should be no. Iirc, they didn't follow the proper procedures. Also, the F-117 dealio had like 10+ aspects that allowed it to happen, I'll rattle a few off. 1: literally no other planes were in the sky 2: the Serbian AA had eyes on the airfield as the planes took off, and let the entire grid of AA emplacements know beforehand to be looking 3: for a reason I can't recall, specifically against procedure, there was no electronic warfare plane sent with them which would prevent anything 4: again, everyone was notified and there was nothing else in the sky, so the tiniest possible blip that would normally be filtered out was focused on 5: iirc the equipment was being used abnormally 6: out of all the sites only one actually caught anything 7: the commander had effectively removed all minimum radar safeties on the missiles, so they would more or less blow up on ANYTHING, like a random bird 8: the air force got complacent and we're sending the 117s on the exact same path every time more or less, so they knew exactly where to put the missiles and radar systems 9: even with all of the above The only reason anything hit at all was because the operator was changing modes(?) in the literal 1 second that it took for the bomb bay doors of the f-117 to open and close - an astronomically tiny chance - and several missiles were fired, one exploding close enough to cause fatal damage to the plane Other note: The F-117 by this point in time was as old as the missile system that hit it was when the f117 began flying. So calling the system ancient, the 117 was already insanely outdated by the same metric (or more, tbeh, given the progress made) considering that the b-2 and F-22 were already in the air by this point.

It also has DIRCM for anti-IR missiles as well as the usual massive amount of flares and chaff. Its an amazing jet

Correction, it has 6 radars that we KNOW about.
And 5 of them can overlap in a narrow nosecone to provide extremely powerful fused radar pictures, while 3 of them can overlap to either side from the nose to do likewise to a lesser degree.

The situation is typical for ussr/russia aviation. Airframe designed for engines, that are under development. And most probably will never be delivered as promised. The only way for su57 got decent engine is steal something from pratt and whitney inc. :-)
I share your posts all the time. Just shared this one out to X. You do good work. You deserve more followers. Thanks Max!
Appreciate that, thank you so much!
The crazy guy in the Redbull Mig-17 will always be my fave show - This was also nice!!

AA missiles are now killing things 150km out. Are dogfights even a thing any more?

F-35 is its own AWACS. It can fly stealthy and provide AWACS information to all other F-35 in the area.
I always wondered what that was ty for explaining it. Why doesn't USA use that boom ît looks very functional?
I can't wait to see Algeria's reaction when they realize they've been scammed LOL
Appreciate the comment!
dogfights could ALWAYS happen !! at least high off boresight fox 2 fights....but yeah, most of it would be amraams and now 174's from miles away.
@@myprivatewar22 wins in any dogfight since it can literally fire behind itself with Aim-9x
"both will have state of the art BVR capabilities so Dog fights won't happen"
Russia designs for high performance and agility specifically because it both increases the chance an enemy BVR attack CAN be avoided, and because they do not assume that air superiority is either a must have nor potentially even possible. And there's also EW. Greatly increasing the probability that there WILL be dogfights as well, eventually. And even if there isn't, it helps avoiding BVR attacks, so it's not a wasted ability.
The way drone warfare is advancing by leaps and bounds, I have a feeling the time of the manned combat aircraft is coming to an end.
This plane can fly without a pilot...
I think Russia has about 20 in service of the "mass" production version. It is not just the plane, it is the missiles they carry and the little side drone that can fly with them that makes this a very interesting system they have. And I believe they have even better updated engines coming in the next year for these bad boys.
"маленький" беспилотный аппарат это С-70 Охотник , по размерам он чуть меньше СУ-57
Dude I love your objectivity very professional commentary
Because it is your rival’s equipment does not make it automatically bad
Great review.. as far a beauty.. this baby is up there with the F-22 beautiful aircraft.
do you really think f22 is the same manuverable, or is it just a patriotism?
i believe f22 has it worse, than a su27 - you guys still don't have 360-degree thrust vectoring.
also do you really believe in stealth? that heat signature is glowing, bro, so there is almost zero reason to go stealth. it's just a marketing, but still su57 is stealth from below and it's where a plane should be stealth. almost zero reason to be stealth from above. keeping in mind, stealth is basically anti-aerodynamic
@Rassah
1. When we talk specifically about maneuverability, there is a huge reason for round thrust vectoring, read and listen more carefully
2. on which data do you make any conclusions about locking targets?

Surely you recognise that with great American pilots in history when America produced game changer aircraft
su 57 has 2d thrust vectoring but they are angled, not 3d

There were always 0 chances of china buying su57s, the last time there was talk about china buying the su57 it ended up being a national scandal
Russia is decades behind China technologically.

1: literally no other planes were in the sky
2: the Serbian AA had eyes on the airfield as the planes took off, and let the entire grid of AA emplacements know beforehand to be looking
3: for a reason I can't recall, specifically against procedure, there was no electronic warfare plane sent with them which would prevent anything
4: again, everyone was notified and there was nothing else in the sky, so the tiniest possible blip that would normally be filtered out was focused on
5: iirc the equipment was being used abnormally
6: out of all the sites only one actually caught anything
7: the commander had effectively removed all minimum radar safeties on the missiles, so they would more or less blow up on ANYTHING, like a random bird
8: the air force got complacent and we're sending the 117s on the exact same path every time more or less, so they knew exactly where to put the missiles and radar systems
9: even with all of the above
The only reason anything hit at all was because the operator was changing modes(?) in the literal 1 second that it took for the bomb bay doors of the f-117 to open and close - an astronomically tiny chance - and several missiles were fired, one exploding close enough to cause fatal damage to the plane
Other note:
The F-117 by this point in time was as old as the missile system that hit it was when the f117 began flying.
So calling the system ancient, the 117 was already insanely outdated by the same metric (or more, tbeh, given the progress made) considering that the b-2 and F-22 were already in the air by this point.
