I just came back to watch again. Im doing my first fondant square cake for my sons wedding. Black fondant though, then black edible lace. Im terrified but your tutorials always calm me down.
Amazing as always. You can't even see a seam. I'm sorry I missed the live stream. I was babysitting my 11month old grandson and just lost track of time. Next week I'm setting an alarm. Keep on caking!!!
Loved the video! I tried your method yesterday but my fondant was too sweat which made my cake with not regular finish. I had to keep it overnight to dry
Oh man. I seriously think I should have known this all long ago, but the truth is my paneled cakes have always looked terrible. Thank you so much for the tutorial. I will use this information for sure!
Those edges are so sharp!! Could I do this same technique with modelling chocolate? I was hoping to hand paint over the modelling chocolate too once finished. With gel colours mixed with rose spirit and brushed/flicked/dotted on to create a kind of watercolour effect. Can you use gel colours on modelling chocolate or would it repel the colour?
Liz can you please panel in the modeling chocolate? I love ur videos and when unmentioned that in this video I like I haven’t seen anyone use modeling chocolate to panel
I'm late, but here 🙃 My word, woman, when are you due?! You are positively radiating! Loved all the tips and instruction...I took a class many years ago but did not pursue the craft - you have singlehandedly reignited my desire to learn cake decorating. You demystify it all, from making an easy silky buttercream to taming fondant to making a cake so square that even Ernö Rubik would be proud! And here I thought there was witchcraft involved...😉...well, maybe there is still a little voodoo going on...🤪
Johnny Krause Most of the time I make my own marshmallow fondant! Here’s the recipe: sugargeekshow.com/recipe/fondant-recipe/ But if not, then I get Renshaw America’s fondant ☺️
Will i place parchment paper on the cake board before i place the cut out fondant before freezing? Am thinking the fondant might sweat if i place it directly on cake board before freezing..Please reply❤
Thank you so much for the tutorial.... but why always start on top? Wouldn't it show the areas on top where it comes into contact with the top part and the side parts if you do the top first?
Chel X it’s easiest for me to do the top first because I like to flip it upside down, and it works best for that method. But do whatever works best for you!

Congratulations Liz...stay bless....

Loved it! So much work but sooo worth it! Thank you! I love how we’re getting to see your more “quirky” side!!! 💜💜

Excellent tutorial! I definitely prefer paneling cakes versus covering them the traditional way.
I have only watched a couple of videos and learnt so much!
Thank you for your help 💕🧁
Thank you for all the tips. Today I made
My daughter’s graduation cake and thanks to your amazing videos it was successful .
Loved the video! I tried your method yesterday but my fondant was too sweat which made my cake with not regular finish. I had to keep it overnight to dry
Thank you so much for this video...it's educative.

So helpful, thank you! 😃
Weldon woman, you are doing well,
And God bless you, this wow❤❤❤😂

Thanks for sharing ❤
Hi Liz, does your fondant get glossy and sticky whenever you take the fondant from the freezer?

Spectacular, blessings from Colombia
could you do a tutorial on covering hexagon and petal shaped cakes in fondant???
Well done ma'am but will the frozen cake and frozen fondant not be sweating later

Awww thank you so much! I know what it feels like to be super burnt out on cakes haha! Breaks are good! I'm due any day now! I'm ready lol!
How can I use this method on a cake dummy? Can I use crisco on the cake dummy first then panel or do I have to use buttercream? Thank you
@TACH Boirard, I’ve used crisco and it worked fine. I think I may try piping gel to see how that works, too.
Thank you,it looks good 👍🏻- have you tried this method with icing paper? Or is it to thin?
You look amazing - Best wishes to you and you’re baby 🥰
I have definitely paneled with photofrost icing images before but I still attach the fondant and put the images on top :)
I find a straight razor works best when trimming fondant panels.😊
Love your channel!! Question... What brand of fondant do you use? And where is the best place to get it? Thanks!!

Can you please direct me to the previous video you mention for buttercream perfect square edges as preparation!
Sure thing! There’s this one, and I have on using acrylics as well. ua-cam.com/video/13oQ1Ag7XQ4/v-deo.html

I feel like it will sweat but also it will have something to hold on to if that makes sense

@@SugarGeekShow duly noted, thank you😊😊! Ill try both to see which is best for me
Here in Tampa
Hi I followed everything you said to do but my fondant sweat like crazy
Same for me. I had to keep it overnight to go dry
Hello with a question, does your fondant weep? I am not sure if that is the word? I always fear of putting a fondant cake in the fridge
Some condensation does appear on fondant but it does not harm it.
@@SugarGeekShow thank you!!!
