What kind of transmission did that truck have? How did that thing just bolt up because I’m doing a TDI and I’m building a adaptor plate for the transmission but I also have a 463 laying around and was thinking I could throw that in something
Thank you for taking the time to post this video on UA-cam I have a few questions of my own. What did you do for the intake manifold being the throttle body would be touching the firewall how do you reverse it. Also did you keep the 4g64 6 volt block that came with the truck those are sort of kind of unicorns in the DSM community
Just got a hand me down (free from my uncle who’s in a better place now 🕊) 92, Ram 50 with only 63,000 original miles on it. Always had Audis’, and big full size trucks. I gotta say tho, even with currently no power steering lol I fricken love this little truck! Since it’s still such low mileage I’ll definitely drive it as is for now, but my dream is to turn this thing into a little sleeper. Maybe go a similar route with one of those Evo 9 mivec 4g63 engines. Simple, but good video bro!
In the case of this truck and state, it’s emissions exempt due to being over 25 years old. Idk how Idaho laws work but it’s one perk to swapping into an older vehicle
Nice to see a young man tinkering with a motor. Used to be, the 1950-1960’s hot rod community was made up of “kids” like you; now it’s mostly old guys like me…
i have a very similar truck, but there is a noticeable rod knock happening, so a new engine might be neccesary. Did you use a stock mighty max transmission? can a starion clutch fit inside of the original bellhousing? what motor mounts are needed? thank you a ton if you reply.
I used the stock ones from the truck. They matched up to the existing spots for bolts on the 63 block. Its almost like mitsubishi meant to put this motor in this truck
He used a manual transmission, from an "83-"89 G63B 2.0 mm/d50 truck, these are known to have a narrow block bolt pattern, which is the same as the dsm bell housing pattern, if your truck is an "83-"89 and came with a 2.0 G63B and a manual transmission then chances are it has the right transmission that will bolt up to any 6 or 7 bolt dsm 4G63T but measure and test what you have that's the only real way to know for sure if your truck is a 2.6 you then likely will have a wide block.
Dude i say the same thing donor vehicle + project vehicle= one bad ass ride.
What about transmission adapter? Engine supports?
Like just because three diamonds, however I'm looking into 4G63 swapping a Mitsubishi minicab Kei truck. I'll keep looking. Cheers!

So what transmission did you use?
Most likely Km132 trans very popular with this swap
@The Blue Jeans no it isnt, in the mighty max there was a 6 bolt wide block, the 2g DSM he took it out of had a 7 bolt narrow block
@@andrewkahler9359 the pre90 2.0 g63b trucks had a narrow block km132 that bolts right up. Using that combo in my 89 currently until it grenades.
