Definitely a must see, we need to stop and enjoy rather than driving past at high speeds! The note about Benny being strapped in was only a confirmation of what we already assumed, knowing his owners!
Well done video. Doesn’t look like this anymore since the atmospheric rain storm we had in Hope 3 years ago. Have opened up the first part of the tunnels this summer, hopefully the rest will be opened next year.
Yes, we haven't had the opportunity to go see them since the flood damage! Next year they are supposed to be fully open again, which will be so nice to see.
These tunnels have always left me in awe. You both did such a fantastic job of showing off this spot. Such a relaxing and soothing video to watch. Thank you
Thanks! The tunnels are such a beautiful spot to visit in the summer. Sadly they have been closed since fall 2021 after suffering extensive damage from a flood and washout ☹️
Benny, be afraid! LOL, Your love for Benny is awesome ! Great video. Thanks again for showing our Beautiful B.C. Parks! Another new one to us! Great Drone shots too BTW. Bloopers 👍 Keep those!
The hike and the area was beautiful. The views from between the tunnels is so unreal almost looked like a picture from a calendar. Really loved seeing this and having you show all the details. We would love to see and photograph that area....so nice.
Wow those canyons and waters! Benny is a good sport. I still haven’t convinced Jasper to ride in his pack. The tunnels were quite a feat of engineering! Putting this trail on our list. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching! Benny definitely gets the best views when hiking in his backpack... or should I say riding in his backpack? 😁 We are his servants, really.
Visited the Tunnels on 4 October 2021 as we headed down the Coq from Merritt to Chilliwack. Now we learn the Tunnels are trashed, along with huge stretches of the highway. Tragic.
Yes, sadly the tunnels have experienced extensive damage from the recent flooding. They are normally closed in the winter months because of dangerous conditions from ice and Rock falls, so we're not sure how long it will take for them to be repaired. So unfortunate, too since this summer was the first time they opened back up since covid started. 😟
Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes, cats much prefer to have their feet firmly planted on a hard surface. There is a link to Benny's backpack in the video description if you are interested. It's technically a backpack, but I often wear it on the front so Benny can face forward.
Absolutely, we do the same thing with Benny. Also, keep an eye on the pricing for the bag. We've noticed the price fluctuate a lot. So if the price seems a bit nutty when you look the first time, try going back another day and it may have lowered.
Do you know the proper adress to put in the vehicle gps....?? Cuz my cellphone network stop working couldn't search on my vehicle gps and after exit 183 and othello road I was lost road end starts very rough road not only me some other people were also had same thing .I couldn't find othello tunnel....
Hi there, it looks like Google thinks Tunnel Road is closed, so it's routing really weird. Try this link: goo.gl/maps/7MgpCkQpJYPmH4hw9 or use the address 67568 Othello Rd, Hope, BC V0X 1L1 -- That will take you right to where Tunnel Road starts. Hope that helps!
I know! 😟 But they are working on fixing the damage from last year's storms and I'm sure they will be open again soon enough. Thankfully there are some other nice walking trails in the area, including the one that goes beside the Coquihalla river.

So true! Taking a few minutes to enjoy the journey rather than rushing to the destination is so important 🙂

@@HomeARoam I remember when they got damaged in the big flood. But I've heard repairs are supposed to start this year so 🤞🤞🤞
That's great news! Maybe they'll have them open again for summer 2024. Just saw an article that they will be closed for 2023.
@@HomeARoamthey’re hoping to open the first few tunnels July 2024!

Great stop for us on the way to Vancouver Island. I gotta put that on my stopover list
Definitely do! A great spot to stretch the legs and enjoy amazing views.
Wonderful looking place , like the tunnel. Beautiful scenery. Speechless cat
Yes, Benny is the strong silent type 😅 The tunnels were really cool and each one a bit different from the other.

Such a great spot! Last time we visited, the salmon were swimming up the river (the water was running quite a bit slower).
Ooooo, reasons to go back! Thanks for sharing that tid bit of info 🙏😃
Looks fun
It's definitely a nice walk with amazing scenery 😀
Great video, thank you for sharing. Those views are spectacular. Benny is so cute :) How old is Benny? He looks pretty young.
Thanks! It's a favorite spot in Hope for sure. Benny is 8 years old, but is small so he looks kind of kitten-like 😃

Definitely check it out when you're in the area. It's totally worth it 😃🙏☺️
And love your kitty! Where'd you get the front carrier? Angel hates the one I have for her because her feet hang out the sides

Kinda hard to do with cock block the cat around.
