Hope you have a great Christmas and New Year. So happy to see this really happening! ⛵️
And a Merry Christmas to all.........and a happy new year
Merry Christmas hoss
hey, it looks like you've come to the right place with your ALU boat and nice people .. a small question, I can come down and help... and maybe you should learn to weld in aluminum with ,,,,MIG and tig and electrode so if the accident is due you can fix it yourself and other things or with tec7;) ..until now it looks good. from Viking Denmark/Norway
My guess they finish Plucklees boat first thing to get that damn caveman gone asap people
They might want to complete the hull on this one to evaluate cuts, placement and wrap before moving on to the next. Why train on 2 hulls? The next one will be faster and easier after they train on this one.
NOOOOO WE LOVE HIM!
Me too😂
😂
😂
You might the first person on u tube to film an alloy cat build in some detail.
While I know you are very capable, having the boat built by guys that build boats daily will result in a much better finished product. I suspect we will see you on the water much sooner than anyone expected. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and look forward to future updates.
being invested in this project even though it was only a little bit makes this so much more fun to watch
Thats bloody impressive. Its going to be so light and strong. Top stuff.
Loving these regular updates sooooo goood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant so glad that you chose to build at this factory
The speed of build is amazing
The video is a great Christmas present from you.
I wish the welders would get automatic safety helmets for their national holiday.
@@teeanahera8949 Agreed apart from the _Westerner_ thing; Most auto darkening helmets are made in that part of the world - backward is as backward does!
It is looking good. Be sure to install a watertight safe in it and a hidden pew pew compartment in plain easy sight. Your initials should go somewhere only you know scrolled in case it gets stolen. That is going to be a nice boat.
Pew pews are a _MUST_ - something that can punch through a skiff both sides! There's some incredible 12guage fireworks out there now!!
Yes those Dragon Rounds or a 50 Caliber BB Gun lol.
Its a big Jigsaw puzzel but they now upfront were the pieces have to come. Nice when a plan comes to get her!
This is great content and the last few episodes as well
Looks Great, Peter-son!! Fabulous Cap'n Plukky, Fabulous!!!
The Vietnamese know how to Work Fast and are Great at what They do .People !😊😊😊 Your Boat is coming on Peter.Fascinating !😊😊😊
You are getting an amazing amount of access Plukky. The pace they are setting is stellar. Good stuff!
I am looking forward to seeing Plucky and his crew sailing this Catamaran around the world.
Seeing the actual Catamaran that will be used being built is extraordinary.
I hope you make the whole trip Plucky, you are in my prayers.
I think it’s a most admirable project, you have managed to get your dream to become a reality. I am actually feeling concern for you because it’s not a cakewalk of a trip. My only advice is always remember to live one day at a time. Don’t let your plans dictate your pace.
You are a great hunter with your speargun. I admire your ability to patiently stalk the fish that you spear… I know you’ll probably be fishing on the trip too. Your hunting is something that sets you apart from other sailors.
If I were you I’d be so excited to get going in your new catamaran that I’d forget to eat. 😂
Don’t be so obsessed with the your plans that you jeopardize your physical health…
I am thinking that whichever of your female friends who is the most able to handle the pressure of feeding a hungry crew should be there as a must. You will be in my prayers on your journey.
I so look forward to these updates !!!
Mate...Seriously Impressed
Seasons Greeting! Thanks for the update.
I can't wait for the finished product! It must be driving you nuts , well more than you are, with anticipation. 😂
Nothing but the best for @sailingintofredom ! Thank you!!
Hey Plukky. I understand your main focus is on the patrons. Followers, likes and comments do account for something in the world of UA-cam. Can you tell us -
Why you moved out of the EU?
Why two boats?
Who gets the second boat?
Get James to ask you some questions and offer some ideas.
keep us all in the loop.
It’s much more than just fascinating to be able to watch the construction of this catamaran. I’m so excited to see your future adventures ❤ thank you
Great progress! Here's a tip, clean the black soot off the welds whilst they are very accessible. Paint or NYALLIC wont stick to that stuff.
Should also orbital sand all smooth surfaces so your etch bonds properly. Big PIA job.
Really good stuff they need guide line to go by nice great progress yes Peter go n get the boat built. So happy for you. Jeff the Navy vet
Merry Xmas Plukky, This time next year you will be sailing this beautiful boat. Happy days!!!
Fantastic build and personal. I'm pretty sure they can make my date for completion.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)
I here
Upping the comment count
I am feeling the excitement Plukky . . can't wait to see you skipper the new Odisea . . . bloke.
Its looking great and taking shape nicely if it floats in the end its gonna be awesome
Why wouldn't it lol
Another build video. Best. Christmas. Ever. Fact. Thank you Peter. Also seasons greeting to you and the Odisea team and here’s to an exciting Odisea 2024!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Merry Christmas Plukky, all the best
The builders in this business is very interesting.
This is the coolest build, these guys are miles ahead of doing this build in the jungle somewhere. Merry Christmas Plukky
We now call you Pluckyson. Amazing to see the progression of that backbone and the hull shape now becomes evident. Great stuff mate. I sense some excitement in you
Amazing stuff ....will soon be complete
Corian is good stuff, I had my kitchen counters made from it. It is also repairable! love it.
For a kitchen in a house maybe, but they are talking of building units with honeycombe aluminium then blowing the weight saving with corian work tops!😂
Wow Peter, they are moving right along! Love seeing the process! They may just finish it quick so they can stop having a camera on them! Way to motivate the build!! Top Stuff as always!
Awesome video Peter , great progress
Merry Christmas. Love watching the build
This is fascinating watching this build. anxious to see the finished product.
It's amazing how fast it continues to come together
Awesome progress Plukky.
THEY MOVE WITH THAT BOAT BUILD
My Sunchaser 58 usually came out at 23/24,000# but it had two big Yanmar 170hp engines and an elaborate interior. And I never found a buyer who would let me build it the way I wanted to. Rich guys have all the gold and thus are always right---!
I take it that your hull #1 will be rather minimalist if you want to circumnavigate with only electricity. I spent two weeks in the Bahamas on a Wylie 44 that was one of the first electric sailboats. It's power system was different than the way everybody is doing it now. Big fixed slow turning prop optimized for the 7-12 knots we usually sailed at. You could just tweak the throttle to go from the prop just barely turning over at no drag to generating maxim regen to the batteries.
Fair winds.
Love seeing a modern factory staffed by well trained engineers and technicians in a country the US tried to bomb back into the stone age only a few years ago.
Thanks for the comment. Keep em coming
Looking fantastic Plukky this is the most exciting UTube site I've ever watched, can't wait for the next episode.
Nice to see all that progress. Two things: Maybe we could venture into the actual CNC laser cutting and maybe someone could to teach us how to cook a proper family style Pho. Again, nice to see the project going along. Sad there is no ramming spur on this bad bad boy (besides it's being designed in Greece) but you can't have everything all the time. Keep it up mate!
Merry Christmas Plucky. Best wishes for a fantastic New Year, full of love, joy, good health, wealth and many adventures
Hi Peter, Merry Christmas. Always enjoy watching the time sequence of progress and definitely more has been made again. Has the AL supply been sorted out now?
N but coming along
The more I look at Odisea and this boat the more I like it. Just wish I had a ballpark cost to build (with rough breakdowns for hull and interior).
Plukky you are amazing. I am surprised the company allows any filming. You most definitely have a interesting life 😱 High 5 for putting this plan in action. Give workers space. 👍✌️
What. Its his boat
That crew is just ripping along! And the attention to detail is fantastic. What a great crew to have building your boat. It would give me a lot of confidence in the finished product having seen what I have thus far. Really excited to see them start fitting the hull plating. Have you decided on a color scheme yet?
Silver and silver
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM - Fair enough. Can't wait to see it all done. Glad it seems to be coming along so well.
Great work, awesome progress mate keep the videos coming
Great stuff. Many of the sailing channels are getting new boats. This one is super cool, as the only one I have seen that is aluminum.
Nothing but quality. You keep saying something over and over and eventually it comes true. Unbelievable.
Exciting plukky, the laser , true and correct, these guys are professional boat builders 👌never stop,. Happy new year mate🎉👍🙏🦘
Looks like the hull of a Viking ship.
Thanks for sharing the journey. Fascinating to watch it evolve so efficiently
Good Xmas to you Plukky and a solid New Year. It's comin' on :)
Keep up the updates, great build
This is exciting Peter, it is finally happening, your vessel is being built, you will be sailing in her before long!
We want to see all of these fabricated parts being cut out of sheet. What is the process and who is doing it?
Merry Christmas! You're going to have the best built cat out there, no questions . The quality is second to none. Are all Odisea catamaran going to be built by this firm? One thing for sure and don't take this the wrong way but you will have trouble to sink that cat even if you want to.... unlike you last glass cat!
I like that sort of trouble....the other trouble got me close to swimming
Vietnam would be very good value for the quality. Craftsman.
When it comes to aluminium boat builds are Dutch are simply the best.
You must walk in with half a chub when you see how much work has progressed. These guys are flying along🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺
Fricken Awesome... Pluck...
Love watch n yar build
Looking great Plukky. Talk about going hammer and tongs. Whew. Just hope there are no mistakes in haste.
Thanks for another great episode from the best sailing youtube channel Eva Plukky Merry Christmas mate from sunny Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 😎
Great to see the progress every week, hope it will be a good year for all off you freedom fans
Good to see the progress. Make sure to check each of the bulkheads to be sure they are plumb vertical. Some look angled backward and some forward.
Just temporary... they are also leaning over... they will be stiffened, laser aligned, messured, re braced and then stringers in
I was going to make the exact same commment..... @@SAILINGintoFREEDOM they fixed it without any guide !!! Good to know they will laser aligned them later
Love it, love it, love it!!!
Hope you had a Happy Christmas Plucky. Looking forward to an exciting 2024.
Needless to say, that things sure appear to be going well. I can't what for you get het this bad into the water!
Merry Christmas Peter from Scotland ❤️
Plucky ⛵⚓⛵cant wait to see your madion cruz
Good grief... these guys are astonishing! I'm still in shock the 'Sailing Spearo' is currently recording the build of his own ocean blasting space ship? I mean WTF?
So building 2 at the same time is definitely the go👍. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year mate👍
Merry Christmas! Judging by the progress it should be a happy New Year indeed!
Wow warp speed speed! Great job ! Happy holidays to all.
Liked! Subscribed!! Commented!!! 23lbs... Hey a really good boss would go buy them guys a Speedglas auto darkener...
Very different and very interesting.
best christmas video yet mate ❤
Nice boat.
Amazing
Either those guys, at 5:30, are short or those hulls are quite deep. They make it look so much bigger than I expected.
Hi Plucky. Love the videos. Hope you get the sponsorship coming through soon. Kind regards.
Me too otherwise it will look pretty bare inside
Watch out Colin’s you will eating wake 😂
Looking good Plukky. I hope those Tape Measures are calibrated 🤣🤣 All the best for the New Year from BrisVegas.
Merry Christmas Plukky, I wish you all the best
Merry Christmas to you and the build crew. I had a great Christmas with grandchildren and other family. But, I did sneak off to spend some time with boat porn on Yachtworld and Sailboat Data. The basic structure is coming together quickly. That is awesome. I have a concern about bulkhead positioning and alignment. As the welders move forward, they are tacking every bulkhead based on measurement between bulkheads. Each error in measurement may be tiny. But they are additive. I would have felt better (not necessarily rational) if they had been setting the bulkheads with laser spots on the structure. I recognize the potential to miss a calculation of make a programming error that makes lasers less accurate. Is there a final check on the alignment, spacing, plumb and square? It's just my engineering quality control that askes, "How accurate is that method?" I just want to have an answer to that question.
From an earlier reply by Plukky .... "Just temporary... they are also leaning over... they will be stiffened, laser aligned, messured, re braced and then stringers in"
There will be stringers in place on the next video. Pretty soon the parts that keep the water out of the people will be installed.
Now that is techo jargo
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM It took quite a while before designers of submarines learned you to keep water out of the people tank. It's a fascinating read if you ever feel the need to learn about the early days of submarine design and construction. The US Navy had a submarine built that was driven by a steam engine powered by a high pressure steam boiler. They quickly gave up on that idea when the people tank get so hot that they couldn't dive with it for more than a couple of minutes.
Looking good, Plukky. Have a joyous holiday. Happy New Year!🤙🌬️🌊🎄🔥😀
What a lightening rod Pete. Maybe somehow build in electric (lightening) energy storage. I can hardly wait till you and the boat gets wet.
Fantastic project and great to see the process. If they are going to concentrate on your boat the build will be quick. Have your wallet ready
Wow, it's really starting to take shape Peter! Woo-hoo!! 🤗💞
Shes looking good!!
A timelapse camera on a slider for the whole build would be a show. But its awesome the way it ist. Great achievement.
I also like watching MJ sailing building their catamaran. Took them a year to get as far as you in 2 weeks!! Great work in that factory
Well i am leaving it to professionals if it was me i would be slow too
lol, great stuff, congratulations!!!
Great progress. Top stuff!
