Crazy how fast it is coming together. So much material and welding. These guys work hard.
Agree, they seem to work efficiently and well.
Those two young ladies look like good crew.
Holy wow Plukky, your new home is going to be ready way sooner than I guessed when you said you were going to Vietnam. Very impressive.
Are we going to see any antics in the bush? Maybe with your new lady friends?!
You should call that faring compound you were getting made "Boat builders crack".
They are certainly working at a cracking pace lol
Now it's starting to look strong!
Enjoying this series.
Plukky and crew, thank you for allowing us subscribers to follow this amazing journey. I’m am very excited to watch this new project splash 💦 and take us all on another amazing journey the way Plukky does so well❤
"Measure once, cut twice" Ha Ha. I think you meant Measure twice cut once Peter !!
Don't wreck it Plukky!
Wow she is coming to gether fast
Peter, construction of the boat is moving along nicely. Glad you have pros working on this.
My only criticism is you, as an engineer, know the workers are not following safety protocols. They actually have their Personal Protective Equipment on but are not using it. They are taking unnecessary risk and you as both an engineer and as “the customer” have a responsibility to fix this.
If this was on the ocean and you were captain, you would not accept them being in harms way. Well this may not be the ocean but it is your boat and you are captain. Please encourage better use of the safety equipment.
Rock on, Plukky.
"Measure Twice. Cut once." is the way it should be.
It’s inspiring. I wanna build my own alu cat now. And I already have a cruising cat. Dam(n) you Plucky. 😂
Hey Plukky, you need some Spak Filla for those Builders Cracks 🤣🤣.
Who are the two lovely girls Peter, careful or you might get married off 😂😂
Hi Lisa, :) Hey Plukky its all lookin good ah, Exciting :)
Dang Pete, the bloody thing is starting to look like a boat! Wooo-Hooooo! We're going sailing, we're going sailing...... All top stuff, people! Cheers to ya Mate! 🤣🤣🤣👍
You ‘CRACK’ me up
That's a happy build crew Peter, they smile from front to back! 😊😂
Shapin' up Plukky 😊
Plukky your editing skills are making them girls look like fools, put the icon where they point! You have the power!
Woohoo-starting to look like a bonified floatation device.
Takes measure thrice cut once to a new level. You need to pop to screw fix and get them a speed glass😊
It's really coming along nicely 🤗💞
We are all learning something here 😎
Hard to believe i was there so many years ago. There's some fine people there. As im sure you have figured out. 👍
Starting to take shape plucky the Asian guys what a crew cheers n beers Marty Australia
Awesome People ~ Thank you for the Timely Updates!
Oh my Peter.... it's huge! Bet you never heard that before..... ;)
Dear Dr. plucky, honestly, did you think that they were going to move this fast, they are very careful, and they look like if they’re very attentive to their job, Dr.Plucky…. This was a very good idea, thank you for your videos, they are really very educational and very interesting.
I think that young welder seems to be working very hard and taking pride in his workmanship. If it were me, I'd make sure he feels appreciated for his efforts. My 2¢
Attach a camera to the underside of the overhead crane Peter. There should be a service ladder and gantry at one end of the building that would give you access.
Nice to see the ladies back. Boat is coming along swell too! :)
Impressed they Lazer all there work. Great stuff Jeff the Navy vet
stand still near to long and you would get welded onto the frame
It's amazing how fast the boat is coming together.
Plucky is going from fish heads to caviar.
Looking good Plunkey ❤ from 🇨🇦
Bloody brilliant people.... great progress Pluckky😀
Looking good Peter, the workers are progressing very well. Every one dressed in new uniforms and new equipment must be a help.
Amazing progress!
Great progress on the build and I can certainly see "behind" that crack joke!
Its look good, starting to resemble a vessel!
It looks great its gonna be awesome
This boat is a monster …
And don' forget Peter crack kills ! Nothing but quality people I love these progress videos people ! Come on join Patron get out your check books and lets keep it going I really want to see them see the put the plate on this baby and then turn the boat uo side down like they said they would do this will be very interesting to see are you sure the have enough head room ! Thank you Plucky !
Great progress! Seriously happy for you, brother!
I'm in Construction - I do appreciate the use of PPE on the crews!
More good progress Peter.
Its looking good Plukky.
I really like how we see them weld scrap pieces that are removed later & how these pieces keep every surface aligned through the building as heat & mass is applied. Cool as👍
I am always amazed at the clean work that is possible with the aluminum alloy in contrast to shipbuilding steel.
Looking Good.
Amazing !
Love it, Love it, Love it!!!
This looks like your forever boat. Looking really good job. How exciting! 🎉
Looking excellent 👍
I don't think you would find any yard over here that would allow the customer to being present while their boat is being built. They must have the utmost confidence in their workforce.
Good stuff.
It is really coming a long it is starting to look like a boat!
Happy new year Mate. coming along cant wait for some aluminum siding!!!!
Grate job so far, hard - working guys , nothing but quality.
Good stuff Plukky. Can't wait for a ride.
Looking good, Plukky!
The boat is looking great but all us guys want to know what the night life is like where you are.
Awesome progress!!
Looks great!
coming right along
Aluminum = a good thing.. Expensive cars use it in radiators, wheels, bumpers, suspension parts, engine cylinder blocks, transmission bodies and body parts: the hoods, the doors and even the frame. My BMW uses it in these areas & you feel the difference, light, tight & quick. 👍 👍
I hope it is lease. Bc as soon warranty is over a button is pushed and it breaks down then I come get it and take it to bmw you won’t leave for less than 1500$ easy things like replacing a bulb more expensive jobs like replacing a battery pack on your electric vehicle 15,000$

It's a pleasure to watch these guys. Focused, no wasted effort, great teamwork. Part of that may be for the camera, but efficiency like that isn't faked.
Half these guys will be wearing 3 inch Elma fudd glasses in a few years, surely the boss can buy them some decent welding masks
Look into who owns the shipyard.
Depends what shade lense they use. A good welder only needs one of the old school black shields
@@jkkj1406 but they are laser cutting the aluminium sections why wouldn’t you get a decent automatic face shield when doing a job this fiddley, they aren’t just welding 💩on a bench
@@comfortablynumb9342 why
@@testicool013 I've been a welder for 20 years in Australia I've never had a company buy me what I want (3m speedglas) had all sorts of cheeper brands offered, seen and heard all types of deals companys big and small try to come up with to get the employee to pay a percentage but they are all out for profit none really care about the employees and this is in a so called 1st world country not where pluckster is
Insane brother love this shit comment
Nice work
Safety first . Grinding with your face shield up …..
Top stuff.
Good one Peter. Over here in Canada we call it Plumbers crack. At first I thought you were getting some plumbing done. Yes it's coming along well. You should see if they allow some sort of apparatus above the building of your boat so you can film. Your beard and hair needs trimming mate you are starting to look like a Pirate. catch you next video
All I can say about the boat builders crack is, if it increases subscriber counts, especially female subscriber counts, well you gotta do what you gotta do, not really my cuppa tea, each to their won and all that 👍
Loving the build 👍
Awesome👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻⛵️
Yeah, i saw that too!😂😂😂😂😂I
I'm very interested in seeing this boat on the water! Now insulation - how much where and what material..... and how you going manage the thermal bridging on the bulkheads? Please do an episode on this - not many others talk about this during boat builds, given your knowledge it would be great us regular sailing folk to understand and learn more .
I can’t believe they work in those shoes.
Gotta love the welding techniques. No time for face shield, just turn your head wiggle your hand and hope for the best. Better buy a welding machine so you can re-do the welds that break during passages.
Scary haphazard tacks! I'm hoping someone experienced is gonna burn it all in after? Guys in the office with all the pedigree don't make the shop floor anymore qualified.
@@dancarter482 I was going to comment on whether these welds are temporary or not. Pretty sure there will be additional work done. Hope so.
When welding, according to OSHA, are proper face and eye protection required? So, I am sure you could convince them to let you get an aerial view.
Nice progress for sure, please explain how a lightning strike would be on this ally hull vs a fiberglass hull
big pop can!!
It has to be hot work
Amazing to see new technologies. Do they cut each piece with laser cutters before welding it together. Or do pieces come from another factory.
The boat is great!
How about some adventures (outside) the facility?
Working too hard Eric...only sleeping outside of factory
Nothing wrong under your helmet Pluky.
Hey mate, it's just called "cracking a smile." You know that. I think that expression originated from your side of the ditch.?? Anyway the project is looking good mate. You'll be pretty pleased with the way things are ticking along. Eh.? Watching from down here. Take care mate.
A little crack every now and again shouldn't hurt no one.
I love my country. You would not see this type of project proceed at this pace. If you could find the number of people required, who are willing to work.
Not that it matters hugely but I don't see an Episode 9, mate. Greatly enjoying the build videos!
The girl on thumbnail
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM Sorry not finding it. Can you provide a link please?
Long time, no watch. How the he'll did you swing this new boat build? Your more broke than I am! Good on ya, can't wait to see this puppy on the water. I'll be watching now for sure! You tube took you out of my algorithm.
Still broke but broker
Sad that worker use no welding helmet to tack up and not using a auto flick welding helmet. In fact it seems that no worker is supplied one on site.
A boat that cost over a million dollars USD to purchase and you fit out your welders that way in 2024 is so lame and shame full.
Fix this guys, this makes you look unprofessional when your office has chairs that nobody has sat on.
On a positive note loving this build content, such good work ethic and skill.
Buy the guy a new belt. He will appreciate it.
Not sure if i missed an episode somewhere along the line that explains it . But how is the project funded . Are they just giving you a $ 2500000 boat for doing an around the world race . Or are you funding a big percentage yourself . Just curious how all this stuff works when it comes to money . Cheers
It isn't working at the moment...odc paying for a large amount which i have to pay back
Best of luck with it all then mate . It's a huge project and look forward to seeing you sailing your dream boat cheers
This will be a beautiful machine. They can corrode in salt water and are a little trickier to "zinc" correctly. A couple ladies found that out and had to have a lot of welding. Two different boats. Usually these welders are grounded to the frame somewhere, have you noticed that connection ?
never mind the builders crack. Check out the construction Crocs!
