    Here I want to correct a mistake in the video. At 03:16 I said to heat up the oil to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. It was an audio mistake, please keep the oil temperature at 380 degrees Fahrenheit while frying. I am really sorry about that. The video is already uploaded, I can't edit it anymore.

    I added some minced ginger to the chicken while it marinated.

    Fusion cuisine at its best. Chinese cooks have been modifying dishes to suit their patrons all over the world for centuries. All with little fan fare or thanks. Here is a place where all their work is appreciated. At the same time, we all tip our hats to the traditional masters who created this amazing cuisine.

    I tried it. The end result was very good, I was surprised. This is by far the best recipe I've ever tried. Most recipes online taste nothing like carry-out. This one tastes just like it. I couldn't find sweet potato starch so I used potato starch. It was extremely white even after frying a long time but the sauce gave it a good color despite the ghostly white chicken. I'll use flour next time as I can really fry up some crunchy golden brown chicken from my Popeyes days. The sauce had me worried as it reeked of vinegary ketchup up but as it cooked and caramelized the flavor got richer and closer to that restaurant quality sauce. It literally transformed into an award winning sauce lol. It is very sweet so I'll probably lay off some of the sugar and use dark brown sugar next time which shouldn't have as much pure cane sugar in it.

    I literally have made this 3 times and probably tomorrow too. I’ve eaten it once a week since watching your video. You have to add the toasted sesame seeds& sesame oil btw. It’s a must. I just love it so much. Thank you for the simple ingredients & tips (I used corn starch & it always comes out perfect with the double frying method & the spray bottle that she showed!! Sooo crunchy !!!!!!!!!)

      How do you know whether using the corn starch versus the sweet potato starch substitution, although good could have even been better with the potato starch?

    • @HaleyPrettyEyes100
      @HaleyPrettyEyes100 4 роки тому

      I don’t know because I haven’t tried potato starch. I only use corn starch & it works perfectly fine/extremely crunchy so there was no reason for me to go out of my way to buy potato starch, we don’t have it in the grocery store where I live. I’m sure it’s just as delicious!!

    I made this today and I didn't have enough cornstarch. So I used cornstarch and all purpose flour for the coating. I mixed 1 TBSP of warm water with 1 TBSP of flour to thicken the sauce instead of water and starch. (I also had to strain the sauce after adding the water/flour because a few lumps formed). But everything turned out amazing! My husband really loves it as well. Thanks for sharing!

My partner said he’d never get take out sesame chicken again cuz it just doesn’t compare. This was beyond the most delicious sesame chicken I’ve ever consumed.. edit: I also just bought the wok with same day delivery :). THANK YOU!!!

    I'm extremely bad at cooking but I tried this yesterday and it turned out pretty good! I accidentally put 2 table spoons of starch into the coating instead of 2 tea spoons so I had to water it down a lot, but it was still really tastly! As someone who can barely make soup edible, this was a massive success~ Thank you for the recipe :)

    Great recipe. However, it even becomes better if you use 50/50 cornstarch and flour mixture. This combination will ensure a kind of liquified coating, which results in a crispier bite and better oil quality after frying

    Absolutely perfect. I changed nothing with the exception of amino acids for the soy sauce cause of my wife's allergies. Chinese American takeout is her favorite food & she can't eat it anymore. This was way BETTER than any takeout. Even got the sweet potato starch. So crispy. Thank you!!
