When benchrest shooters and silhouette shooters find a lot number of 22 ammo that works well in their firearms they buy all of that lot they can get their hands on. Ammo changes from lot to lot and each firearm is different on what it likes. great video.
I’m sure that Western ammo from the 70’s sold for $.75 per 50 round box. I used to have an old single shot Remington bolt action that hat a broken off rear sight with just the screws sticking up and I could nail squirrel heads at 25 yards with 22 shorts. I payed 35 cents/box of 50, longs were 40 cents/ box and LR were 45 cents/ box. Don’t you wish you could still but a brick of L/R for $4.50. That old Remington with shorts was so quiet you didn’t scare the game away. Fun times back in the mid sixties.
Yes, they are great rifles and accurate too! I have a model 582 tube feed I got back in the sixties. The barrel code dates it as being from May of either 1967 or 1968. I remember purchasing it with my Dad at a big box store. the gun was so accurate that I got tired of shooting out the bullseyes on the 50-yard range I started shooting at the thumbtack heads that held my targets up and could consistently hit the from the lying prone position at a rate of 3 to 4 hits out of each 5 shot groups and drop the targets to the ground with a 3x7 power scope set at 7 power. as far as I can remember I was using CCI minimags. I still have that gun and haven't shot it in decades but after seeing this video I think I'll be bringing it back out again for a little follow-up. The only thing I need for it is a front sight which is hard to find. Thanks for the video!
Some ammo will shoot in your rifle won't shoot a lick in mine well it shoots just average but that's not what we are after we want the ones that shoot exceptionally my cz457 won't shoot eley or any of these but put lapua center x or the sk standard plus and they shoot lights out it all depends on the gun and what it likes. Great video enjoy all your videos. Beagleman
Great video as always . a few of my rifles really like the Federal Gold Metal Ultra match and the CCI SV and I was fortunate enough to be able to procure a good quantity of the Federal stuff. Great video.
Love your videos. Good entertainment and good learning. At the moment im playing around with an mossberg 346 ka 22lr, lot of fun. Try one out if you get the chance . Wold be interesting if you tried relubricating the old T22 ammo and shoot it again. Thank you for Nice videos.
And yet Aguila still gets so much hate on GunTube. It’s usually consistent and very affordable. I use the Aguila High Velocity in a couple of pistols and I’m very happy with it.
Your Remington seems to resemble my CZ452 in that it is less finicky than many rimfire guns. Like your rifle, mine does spectacularly well with Federal 711b (Gold Medal Target) & Aguila subsonic (I shoot the HPs). Some of the most spectacular rimfire groups I've ever managed were with the discontinued PMC Scoremaster...you might try some if you can find it.
Is the rifle bedded? I’d run some of that ammo, in a Neal Waltz die. Some good groups! Certainly, minute of squirrel 🐿, I bet a bedding job would make that nice rifle great.
I tested the T22 in another rifle, and it shot tiny groups, comparable to the SK Standard Plus. I hate to shoot it all up, because it is becoming somewhat collectible.
I really enjoy your .22 ammo comparison videos. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Aguila results. I’m going to see if I can find some of it. Time to start patterning the turkey guns. Did you find any TSS?
Yes I did. I went to Mid South Shooters Supply here in Clarksville and got a box of Federal Premium Heavyweight TSS #9. I think I'll make a video shooting a pattern with one of these shells.
I have several different ones, but the choke I will try is a Comp-N-Choke .655. I have tighter chokes, but to my understanding, you don't want to go too tight using the smaller TSS shot.@@waynejenkins6259

Would like to see a video on scopes and your cleaning regimen. Thanks!
Sounds like a good video idea.

Nice video C.O.
I just rescoped my Marlin 39A .22lr, I need to get to the range and sight it in.
Nice video showing how different ammo performs out of the same gun. Surprised about that Aqilla ammo.

Great video and I love that rifle. I have a Zastava made Remington model 5 that I bought last year but I haven't got to shoot it yet.
Those old Remingtons and Winchesters are capable of fine accuracy, and make nice collectibles as well.

I've never tried it, but if I ever see it available, I'll check it out.
Before watching I'd probably put my money on SK.
That said, it's interesting to see the results!
Won't be long we'll be digging ramps. I shoot the Fed-P Target alot it's good ammo and the CCI MINI MAGS the are my go to 22 ammo
I never seen that brand T22 that’s a new one for me

It is indeed bedded with Brownell's Acraglas.
I use target ammo to squirrel hunt. Mostly Eley Target that run into a Waltz die to hollowpoint it.
The sugolla was very impressive. I'd just take the T 22 and plink with it

@@CumberlandOutdoorsman yeah, I can understand that

My cz 457 varmint shoots the Norma tac22 in a dime size group at 50 yards
What scope do you use
Nice shooting ! Have you messed around with air rifles ?
Most of these shooters never say what optic power they are using
One group really tells us nothing about the average performance of a cartridge in a given rifle. Shoot five groups with each and see what they do.
I would if I were only testing one or two brands. I'm afraid that much shooting would make the video way too long and boring.
T22 never was good ammo.
