@@bobcatforever3485 that's how it should be, albeit, on a calm day, with same rifle throughout. Fine job overall. Very rare, shooters use every ammo they can find. Need to say, no two weapons are the same. Can't arbitrarily say what works well for one machine will work the same in another. Should do that for every rifle you have. Again, fine job. Thanks.

Stingers are a bit longer than other 22lr. Does not always work well in a semi auto.

Same here. Out of the big 4 major U.S. brands (Remington, CCI, Federal and Winchester), Winchester usually gives the worst accuracy from any type of firearms and the least reliability in semi-auto firearms. This is from my over 30 years of shooting 22 LRs in 20 different type of firearms.

Excellent manner in which to test the various products. I think it's one of the best videos I've seen. At one point during the tests, it looked like the wind picked up a bit. There's a lot of valuable information to be had. Thanks, excellent job.

@notbraindead7298. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. Also, thanks for the kind words. The wind is often an issue for me, the positive thing if there is one is that I am shooting to the west, so the wind is generally in my face. I should get ambitious and do part of that again but only with the more popular ammos to see anything has changed. Thanks much again and take care.

Back in the day we tended to shoot pigeons that always made a mess in the barn. I agree with you and I still enjoy just plinking around with the .22's Also, thanks for your service in the military! Definitely worthwhile and we're appreciative of all the effort & money, but if you ever do some further editing on this I strongly suggest a comparison at the end so it's much easier to keep track of the results and refer back to as our memories start to fade. Nice to see the bulk ammo did a good job. although it is not as cheap as it was five years ago. i usually go with thunderbolt and the bucket of 22 s only in the 500 bulk pack. today 325 would be considered bulk pack. federal also seems like a good choice.

Right now, I'm trying to pick ammos the I have never shot before just to see how they run thru my .22's when I can go shooting again. Not a fan of the stock irons (poor sight radius), and couldn’t hold much of a group with them. I really wanted to keep iron sights on the rifle (so no magnified optics), and discovered the Tech Sights, which are M1/M16 style peep sights. Total game changer, and I’m able to put rounds in a single jagged hole at 25yds now. Love the gun and the sights

Good video! I've been shooting the CCI Blazer with my 10/22 at 100 yards with aperture sights for a while now, results of this test were exactly what I expected. Same with the Stingers, they ended up being less accurate like in the video. I first started shooting Remington and then Winchester bulk box jacketed hollow points but I got sick of finding bullets loose or cocked in their shells and they were also giving me a failure to feed at least once per mag with some bullets getting the jacket marred or scraped off by the mag feed lip. I got a whole bunch of Blazer for almost the exact same price as the bulk garbage and couldn't be happier.

Thank you. I enjoyed your video and found it very informative. It is interesting to see that most groups 'settle down' after the first fouling shot. It would be good to find out the group sizes of the best performing ammo if you shoot two fouling shots first. Often on a five shot group I will measure just the best four and compare the groups like that. The Ruger likes norma tac and stingers the best.
The PSA likes Remington subs and vipers the best
The 4 I listed all were under 3/4 inch at 50.

Here are some notes for you: #1 I have the exact same hat as you do...heheh, #2 You have wind drift on your shots, #3 Hyper velocity ammo seems to be inherently inaccurate and beats the heck out of your semi-auto receiver(not good) and lastly, in order to obtain a reasonable group per ammo type/brand, you need to shoot more than just 5 shots...season the barrel to that specific ammo. Still, I enjoyed your presentation. When I had my 1022, circa 1986, CCI Blazer and Aguila( ah-gee-la) Standard velocity were the most accurate in my specific rifle. A buddy of mine had a 1022 and it preferred Winchester Wildcat...go figure...lol

Tony. Thanks for viewing and for your comments. Gotta love the hat, you made a good choice. For sure the wind is often a problem when I go shooting, it tends to follow me wherever I go. Just two days ago I repeated this same shooting with a few different ammos and the hot ammos just don't group for me. Trying to do groups I prefer CCI Std Vel or Eley Club but was surprised by a couple of the other ammos. It will take me some time to edit all the video that I shot, but eventually a you tube video may show up. Thanks much again and take care.

The only trouble with accuracy testing 22lr ammo is that literally every gun will shoot them differently.
My friend has two functionally identical Ruger 10/22's and they both shoot a particular ammo best.

Good stuff! My 10/22 manual says to not use Stingers: the cases are slightly longer than standard.22lr and they won’t chamber correctly. Not sure if that’s why yours were so erratic, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Dogscratcher. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. What you mentioned could be at least part of the problem, in addition to that my experience has been that these faster bullets are just not as consistent as things like CCI Standard Velocity and other ammo at about that speed. @@bobcatforever3485 I also took up airgun shooting last year and enjoy it very much. Here in South Africa .22LR ammo became very scarce and expensive. Quality airgun pellets are costing way less than .22LR so I can shoot much more. I did not buy those expensive PCP stuff with everything going with it, just a break barrel in 5.5mm.

@@L.V-Rider Good idea to move to an airgun when ammo gets out of control. About 6-months to a year ago it was difficult to find any ammo and it was 3 times more that normal. We are still paying 1.5 to 2 times what it should be. There is still some ammos that are difficult to find. Standard handgun ammo (.380, 9mm, .40) are in abundance now but still cost more than it should. I have a small air rifle that you have to pump up, it goes at ~650 fps at best. I would like to get a good break barrel gun. Thanks again and nice talking with you.

Sailguy0321. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I also like ELEY, especially ELEY Club. I have shot some of my best groups with Club. Club is expensive and hard to come by so I have been shooting more CCI Srd Vel lately. Thanks again and take care.

When testing 22LR esp. match ammo (the kind with lubes, vaxes etc) you really need to condition the barrel to the new load first.
When i have tested ammo I usualy try and shoot more then 1 group per load, 3-4 atleast. What i notice is, with match (or quality) the groups tighten up considerably in the later groups.
esp with SK Match, Lapua Center X etc. Just shooting 5 shots of each type is not recommended with those, as the barrel need to get "adjusted" to the particular load.
with cheap ammo, like CCI standard and similar, it does not matter much. But with SK Long Range Match at 100 meters, its a difference of inches! At 50m accuracy in those loads are basicly a big hole and 10 shot groups are less then 0.25"

Henrik, Thanks for viewing and for commenting. I appreciate your input and expertise with the better ammos. As you could see the guns and ammo I generally use would not likely give the results that you mentioned. Thanks so much for sharing that. Take care.

    Awesome video, great job
I found some Winchester white box 333.
Also found 2. 100 round cci cb shorts at Walmart today. I plan on trying the shorts in a Mossberg and sons bolt action from the 40's i had issues with the rifle loading the Winchester it is tube feed. Hoping shorts feed properly.
    Thx William

William, Thank You! And thanks for viewing and for commenting. You did good picking up some ammo in these times. I tried .22 shorts in my Rossi RS22, out of the mag it would only load one round and jam the second round in to the front of the mag. I do have an old Marlin Bolt Action from the 50's (tube feed, that will run shorts, longs and LR). Also, my henry says it will run shorts (but have not done so myself). I would guess the 40's gun will run everything. Thanks again and take care.
