We are in the midst of a 'beard renaissance'. Everyone, it seems, is growing a beard. For many of us, a full and thick beard is a fairy tale. In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro describes how to leverage the whiskers you do have to make your beard look fuller.
Alpha discusses his own facial hair obstacles and how he handled them. He says sometimes time is all that is needed.
Handling Beard Patches and Spots Now
1. Grow it out - go for one month to see more accurately how that beard is going to look then analyze.
2. Brush your beard - you can find boar's hair bristle beard brushes online for around $10. It can make your beard look more luscious and full. By brushing morning and evening, train the hair to lay and grow in a specific spot.
3. Utilize a facial hair grooming tool to support hair around the bald spot
4. Rogaine on your face - it's not designed for it, and there hasn't been a lot of long term research - Навчання та стиль
I love how you have a conversation with the viewers without us even saying anything. You don't make it awkward and weird. Good job man. Love your stuff.
I upvoted right away after that part.
True
3 years later and beards are more trendy than ever
Yes dude
Danger Audio Took the words right out of my mouth.
Beards are here to stay.
I was literally going to say that
And he now have a better beard
I grow my beard out for 1 month , people think I shaved 3 days ago
Dang bruh
Lol
I feel ur pain bro
Feel bad for you
If you don't have a father, don't worry theirs this guy.
lmfao
When I was 12, my father taught me how to be a man. He took me into the bathroom, picked up a razor, and ate it.
+Kieran Requena haha nice one! He is great
+Kieran Requena mate my dad was a dock workin nut case redheaded irishman in prison til i was 8 this one direction tribute acts got a long way to go before he can fill those big irish boots
+bamischijfje123 *Nice grammar.* lol jk 😂
I can't grow a beard so I shave my balls and pretend that it's my facial hair growing back
Just don't glue pubes on your face, that's something they'll see
hahaha just glue them on bro
HAHAHAHA omf
HAHAHAHAH I JUST DIED IN YOUR ARMS TONIGHT, MUST HAVE BEEN SOMETHING YOU SAID
Worst Pizza .. hahahahahah😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Truth, my beard was pretty sad only up until about 3-4 years ago in my mid 30s. The sad part was that I could grow thick, Elvis level lamb chops at 19, but my chin looked like 3 spiders trying to mate.
dude,I can so relate. At 19 I could grow the meanest of mustaches. I'm not talking about the porno creep mustaches, but a full mustaches that required wax and brushing every morning. But my beard was a complete failure with patchy sideburns and chin. Wasn't till I turned 25 till my beard started to look good. Now I got the hole 1930's beard and stash going on and i couldn't be happier I didn't give up on the mustaches and waited for the beard to grow in.
+Classymaru Nara ive had my beard since around 13. At 15 it became full and thick. I dont regret shaving. Especially because I can fade my beard into my hairline perfectly while many others cant :D
Same problem, had muttonchops at 17, I’m 30 and have bullshit patchy beard growth and no growth from my mustache around my mouth. It’s bullshit.
Hey guys, how you doing now? I hope you are alive there.
It's been four years since the great beard uprising and I can safely say the beards are here to stay. Any patchy brethren who sees this comment should feel free to drop a like. I fear I might be the last of my kind.
05:30 beards are going out in 2 years. Trust me.
3 years later :
2019 : Am I a joke to you?
Men have finally discovered that beards are basically the male version of makeup. Saying beards will go out of style at this point is like saying women will stop wearing make up.
Alpha, I'm adopting you as the big brother I never had.
Sorry he's already taken buddy!
Beards never go out of style.
SofaaArts never *grow* out of style ;)
You right.
Then why did they before ? lol
Yes beards do go out of style. It’s just that many won’t let them go but that doesn’t mean they’re always in style! The only reason they have more longevity is because men’s hair goes bald over time and the only way to counteract that is by having a beard. But trust me, the minute men find a way to fix their Head balding issues, beards will fall off the face of the earth.
Clan Killas® Gaming! Well a lot of women find beards sexy, so as long as they like them, beards will be in style
You’re the coolest and most charismatic. I appreciate your content so much, not just because it’s helpful but because you care about the topics!
Fast forward to 2023 and everybody's rocking a beard. Even women. 🙄
Thank you Aaron, I really love your videos and they have helped me immensely with an innumerable amount of issues. You do it in a way that isn't awkward, and you make us laugh! We really appreciate you and the time you put into making videos! Once again, Thank you!
"in three years clean shaven's gonna be back in". Self-isolation led me here
All your videos you have uploaded so far have been very convenient for me! Keep up the amazing work!
Or you can apply a teeeeny-tiny amount of eyebrow powder onto the patches. It's completely invisible and natural-looking, but it fills up those spots real nice.
No makeup
Good tips.
if charlie day and barney stinson had a baby!!
I really like how you 're able to do the attitude, and still give sensible tips---not every guy can pull that off. I'll give these a try. Thanks, man!
3 years later. Beards aren’t going anywhere. Lol
I like that suit!! where do you got it from?
Greetings from🇨🇭
Anderson and Wilson
Hi fellow Swiss guys! Coolen channel habt ihr da, definitiv abonniert!
+Anderson and Wilson Nice UA-camr welche Ahnung haben und nicht nur Englisch reden. Abo
+Anderson and Wilson I'm pretty sure he got it from iTailor. He did a video about it and it looks like one of the patterns they offer. It's a great company since you can customize everything, the fabric, pattern, lapels, buttons etc and it's affordable.
+ᅟᅟᅟᅟᅟᅟᅟᅟ I like your name
+Anderson and Wilson Suit Supply
I credit Game of Thrones (mostly), Black Sails, Vikings, and Walking Dead with the return of the beard.
hipsters also
+Felipe Domingos Na not really, most hipsters are considered douches. I agree with the other guy Mainstream media really push beards back into their glory days
Let us not forget Duck Dynasty and the Boston Red Sox too..
i credit isis their beard game hella strong
I’d want a beard without any of those things lol
This is what I needed to know!
Also loved the part with the shoe brush on your face XD
"Imma buy it now"
Pure comedy gold.
Man , I love the way u took the issue , answered the question, also motivated at the same time , a great deal u have put up, god bless u
Thanks to genetics, I shave my beard since my 13s... and now, as a 17 year old (1 month for 18) I can say that I have a full beard and somethimes I let it grow for a month or two and I love it... there are downsides, it itches because my facial hair does not go all in the same direction, it's kinda curly.... I also want to say (if you're still reading this)... if you're gonna shave or trim your beard... wash your face with soap.. a lot really... recently I got myself an infection for not doing that and I even had to go to the hospital, now I'm washing my face sometimes a day and applying a cream for the infection... just a shoutout, I dont want anyone suffer from this
I have red, brown, and white in my beard when i grow it out… It's awesome haha
All you have to do is dye your nose hairs blue and you could be a real patriot xD
hi alpha. curious to know your views in minoxidil. i have seen vast improvement from using it and i documented it too. obvs you are very influenceal so i understand why you might not want to reccomended a topical drug but it does work. anyway man keep up the great vids i live the common sense approach that you often take in your videos
I've got that exact Kent brush and stache comb. I would, however, also recommend anyone who cares about their beard to invest in a good beard comb. These come in two sizes - pocket and large - and really help neaten things out.
Back when alphas vids were truly fun to watch and not just an add. So much more enjoyable.
Jesus Christ i subscribed 5 minutes ago and I already love this dude, no homo
+SuperNovaPL It happens! He is a life saver
You are the man Alpha! Great video...keep em' coming
I've used Rogaine on my face for over a year and have had tremendous gains! It does not fall out either when you stop using.
As someone who struggles with acne, I was cringing while you brushed your face with the shoe polish brush. Haha.
I used Minoxidil (Rogaine) on my face at 21 and it helped me substantially grow a beard and its a lot better. You have to use it long enough to have the hairs mature. I did take 10,000mcg of Biotin every day for a year before I started it and I believe that helped a lot as well.
That suit is on par!! Im LOVEN that grey jacket!
Rogaine does work if you were already going to grow a beard. It requires consistency over a couple of months. The hairs do not fall out if you wait for them to go terminal (thick and black) although some people's do not grow back after shaving but very rare. Also be prepared for the side effects. For me at least,I'd get very itchy on my cheeks and theyd turn red. I'd also grow peach fuzz like hairs on my ears. Just try it for a few weeks and see if the side effects aren't too bad other wise don't continue
I can only grow a goatee my checks are coming in but not thick enough! and underneath my jaw pretty patchy too. I hate my facial hair but I also hate shaving all the time lol
hey alpha, i have a beard bald spot. it's on my entire face except my chin and upper lip
Wtf lmao
Awesome as usual, Aaron. Great stuff.
I LOVE YOU! I was waiting for this since forever!
I'm here, 3 years later. Beards are still trending btw :)
3 years later: beards are still “in”
Watched like ten videos and this one made me sub. I like how honest you were about not having a beard brush. Funny too. Keep it up
Aaron, energetic and funny as always :D
I've had patchyness going on, but over time it filled in :)
Oh and greetings from Hungary :)
I love the kiwi part who else 😂🔥

I'm 17 and still no facial hair around 😢

+Samy B 18 and I have like 5 black hairs on my face
+Samy B bruhhhhh im 20
+Samy B I didnt grow a beard till 21, be patient
+Samy B Happens man, I am almost 22, several spots where nothing grows plus it doesn't come in thick, so just gotta stick to that clean shaven look and improve that until it comes. But it just is not fair. I have friends who have had full thick beards since early in high school.
Common Alpha...now it's been 3 year and now are having a cool beard!
Love you and your show! Keep up the hard work!
Beards will never go out of style
im an arab and my facial hair like ben ladan's
brian bouf no shit lmao
*Bin Laden*
Ben baldin
😭😭😭😭😭
I have been using facial scrub wash daily. I have noticed less patchy facial spots. It removes dead skin which seems to help grow more pronounced. Hope it helps.
This guy is awesome! I love the way he explains!
5:30 here starts the real advice.
😂 😂
+Armagedonizacija RS hairless spotted

Armageddonize t
It's still here haha
I love my clean shaven look, I feel cleaner and more attractive.
Beards look good on some other guys though.

5 years ago seems like such a different alpha. More calm and just spitting facts
have a good day, alpha.
ive had a beard ever since it started growing, never shaved my face, starting out it was super patchy, but honestly time is the key
How he giving advice about brushing when he doesn’t even have one 😂
Maybe he doesnt feel like he needs one xD
2019 3 years later and men still have beards you said in 2 years it well go out but there still here lol I'm just playing around keep up the good content bro
Beard brushes are a beast of their own as well. You may get one and find it's too rough for your soft facial hair or vice versa. I suggest a simple, cheap, and easy brush. A regular toothbrush. Not the soft bristled kind though. Cut that bad boy a few inches below the head and you've got a good beard brush. Been doing it since 08. And if you're wondering, my beard is thick and coarse.
4 years later and beards are still in
Notification squad !
Great video Aaron!
Hey thanks for doing this video, never considered brushing my beard.
Ive done some research and apparently Rosemary oil helps hair growth.
What do you say about this Alpha?
It’s 2020 and beards are still in the trend buddy 😂
Yessir
Your voice isn't nearly as deep as I was expecting
im 25 n have a thick beard but its kind of patchy from the lower cheeks,i had a full thick beard at the age of 17 but i didnt like it n started threading it on weekly basis now i have left with the patches on my lower cheeks n it disturbs me alot.....can someone tell me the way to re-grow those areas again?Have the hair folicles died or still is there any chance for the growth?
Zafrayab Farooq way to kill your hair follies bruh. why didn't you shave?
VanillaCakez He’s 5’6 1/2” so it kinda makes sense
VanillaCakez Lol yeah. I’m 22 and 5’5. I got deeper voice. It’s also noticable in phone calls & voice message, voice chat on online games. They thought their having a talk with matured man by judging my voice lol!! 🤣
VanillaCakez Agree. It’s kind of girly.
First video I’ve watched of this guy and he’s just too awesome 😂💕
4 years later, glad I didn't listin. Rocking a kickass beard with sooooo many other men. Beards are still rocking and prob not leaving.
1:48 😂
Too funny dude. Can't stop laughing, can't stop replaying it.
The actor Patrick Dempsey. You look a lot like him :)
Aleksandar Radovanovic wtf no he doesn't. do all Americans look alike to Yugoslavians?
Ed G clearly you've never seen Dempsey.
Uh yeah. And he doesn't look like him. Oh well I guess if it helps ya sleep at night
Aleksandar Radovanovic nope. Same hair color that’s all I see. If your not American we do probably all look the same
I don't even have a beard but Alpha's vid.. Common who doesn't want to miss it
The first thing I thought when opening this video was, "Wow, that suit is amazing"
In 2 years beards Won't be popular lol 4 years later and there more popular then ever
You sound almost exactly like Charlie Day.
Your license comb is so cool, I love it.
Great video, as usual! You really should try the One Blade Pro, as a beard trimmer, you won't be disappointed! Puts other trimmers to shame!
is there something in his left eye? its really scaring me
"It's a birth mark"
He said in 3 years beards will be out of style🤣 Its 2019
ikr
when he came up with that kiwi brush i just couldnt hold my shit 😂😂😂
Gotta love maturity I'm in my early 30's still feeling prime time. 🎷🎶🎤🎉
3 years later... Beards still in 😂
3:12 to 3:17 his reactions🐯🐯😂😂
Alpha you said three years and I’m still waiting for the clean shaven trend!
Most of all I'm excited because of your energy boy
I got black hair but a red beard. I HATE IT!!!
That's a nice combo. It makes you look more distinguished. Br grateful for that!
+Rex Ultimatum never thought of it like that thnx for the encouragement
+Anytyme06 I got blonde hair and red beard fml lol 😂 I feel your pain
Hey, if it's a good beard then what's the problem! Bro I'm sure it looks great. I tho can't grow anything.
I got dark brown hair, deeep brown (almost black) mustache and goatee and, brown (lighter than my hair) side chops! beat that 😂😂
My beard looks a little sparse in some areas because some of the hairs are blonde rather than the rest, which is dark brown. I bought some Just For Men beard color and it really helped fill it in. Would definitely recommend.
Alpha m. does the dollar beard club growth accelerator oil/vitamins work?
6 years later and beards are still here to stay 😂 but fr man I love your videos. Stay awesome
Minoxidil (rogaine), black Jamaican castor oil, 0.5mm dermaroller, biotin and folic acid = epic beard growth
exactly!👌
+Liam Perks What's the derma roller do?
+The Faceless Man it stimulates cologne in your face, which is needed by the hair follicles. Using minoxidil deplete cologne so derma rolling really helps activate hair follicles.
If you're interested then look up a group on Facebook called the Minox Beard Spot. There is over 5000 of us doing it and most of us are getting pretty insane results
Blitz Tv I got tired of beards after have a thick full one at 20, ill stick to stubble.
I take it you mean collagen and not cologne.
4 years later beards are more trendy than ever!!!
BTW, if you have sensitive skin, a baby's hair brush would work too. I use one to help dislodge ingrown hairs before they become razor bumps.
Great videos as always my friend, as always ;D
I don't think they are going to be out. We live in a era where everything is acceptable. Doesn't matter if it's in style or not. But as long as you can pull it off.
Ernesto Tamayo they've never gone out of style.
how to remove pimples
am_ minhaz try benzac ac (2.5%)if everything else fails, twice a day
After washing your face in the morning and after washing your face at night before going to bed, ideally you'd want your face to be covered with it at all times(that's what works for me) give it a week and you'll definitely see the change. Let me know here how it goes. Good luck.
I also use garnier skin active pure active 3 in 1 (white face scrub lotion) to scrub off dead skin and oil off my face before applying half a peanut amount of benzac over the affected areas, especially cheeks, chin, under the nose area and forehead. Good luck
Avoid all foods that contain any kind of cheese, cream, butter, margarine, vegetable shortening, it includes sandwiches of any kind from any restaurant, absolutely NO cheese, if you drink milk very often, then reduce the amount and frequency, eliminate all cookies including oatmeal ones. See if it works for you, it does for me, that well in my 40s I get many pimples if I eat any of those products, and as long as I dont eat them, I have a clear face and scalp
Using 5% Kirkland minoxidil on my face has worked wonderfully. Asides from the mustache and chin hair I could already grow, after about 2 months of using it I now have almost full hair growth on the sides of my face and under my chin. Though these are baby hairs, after another month or so I will most likely have face full of mature hairs. I consider myself lucky so see this much growth in the first two months because people who have tried go a full year and only get dryer skin and a face full of acne.
Wow! You posted this just when I noticed a bald spot in my beard.
I hope facial hair won't go out of style, I look like a little kid without it
+Tobias If its your own style, it will never go out of style ;)
im 20 and I look like 15 with out my beard good thing I started to shave early but it is really anoying sometimes when you really want a fresh clean look, but hey maybe we will looks like 20 or 30 when we reach the age of 40 who knows.
It will never go out of style
Hey, from the future here. Yea, it never goes out of style. More and more people are investing into it. Even famous peoples! Like Lionel Messi, Rooney, Eminem, Ice Cube etc
There's a few thing you can do that will definitely help. 1. Eat healthy, absolutely no junk food, eat lean meats/organic food is better than processed. 2. Stay in shape, workout more often, don't be lazy, keep active.
Nice video and take on the manly subject of beard etiquette. . . . Thanks!
Hey Alpha, what about people who have folliculitis? Either on their face or on the back of their scalp. It's embarassing and drops my confidence severely. Any recommendations to get rid of it?
