That trick for the top line is amazing!
I’ve been to a bunch of barbers before doing my own beard and I’ve never seen anyone do it like that before and it looks great!
Kudos to you, Matty, for delivering an outstanding tutorial on beard fading! You effortlessly simplified the fading process, making it a breeze. Your tutorial is hands down the best fading guide on UA-cam, especially for the classic fade. Plus, with your instructions, anyone can easily achieve a great fade on their beard. A reminder for folks here: to create a flawlessly faded beard, a robust trimmer is vital in sculpting the perfect look. I use the Wahl Magic Clip or Andis. Thanks a lot, Matty!
Much appreciated!
This was an outstanding demonstration of beard fading. Thank you for sharing this.
I really like the explanation on FADE vs TAPER on beards. A lot of barbers taper my beard when I ask for it to be faded and I think this video demonstrates the difference between the barber terminology more clearly.
Just faded my beard at home from watching this video!!! I was a little nervous at first, but it turned out great! Thank you!!!
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching!
I'm starting to grow my beard long and your videos have been so helpful. Thank you. (I'm a late beard bloomer).
Thanks for the positive feedback! I appreciate it! Glad to help
I’m happy to help!
Really enjoy watching your videos. When you're a bald bowling ball like myself, the beard is really all you have to express yourself hair-wise. It's fun experimenting on your own beard, and I've gotten a lot better at grooming it thanks to your great instructional videos. Have a great day!
Thanks for the encouragement!!! I’m gonna do one with a bald client of mine soon!!!
That’s awesome! Thanks so much for the feedback!!!
As a man, that's a few years behind yourself, lol
Are there any good beard designs with a shaved head?
Ive been bald for about a year now and i find that a full, semi-long beard goes well with the shaven head. As when i had hair i kept the beard a little shorter like in this video.@@ggvbayareaoakland5914
You can always fly to turkey 🇹🇷 😊
that cheekbone tip for the upper beard was really awesome 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thanks for your work, Matty. You are the reason I got myself a Wahl and a trimmer and embarked on my own beard-shaping journey.
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching!!
@fredericksoucy3596 Hey, which model of a Wahl clipper did you get?
@@giorgimtchedlishvili151 Wahl 56350 - it's corded, powerful and with a lever. The 1.5 guard was crooked out of the box, but I don't really go below 2 for hair and beard.
The commentary as well as your work on this tutorial was an absolute joy
Thanks so much for this. I always felt weird with a bald head and sudden beard. This is a great solution. Doing it tomorrow and will look into your product as well.
Start with a taper. If you are feeling it work your way down to a fade!
Another great walkthrough tutorial w a different process while getting a solid outcome. Nice work Matty 👏🙏
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Matty, I just faded my beard myself using this video. It doesn't look as great as this video, but it looks far better than how i used to do it.
That’s great Roy! It takes practice. It will get better the more you do it!
Best beard fade video hands DOWN! Am obsessed with watching these kinda videos and this tops all of them on you tube
Thanks for the positive feedback brother! I appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Such a great channel. So well done. Can't wait to try your top line cheekbone tip! Game changer. Thanks, Matty.
Happy to help! Thanks for watching!
BY FAR the best beard trim video I've ever seen.
I just witnessed a masterclass on beard trimming. Bravo 👏🏼
I learned so much from this, bloody amazing video man. what an absolute legend, this needs millions of views
Thanks so much! I appreciate the feedback!
A true artist. Awesome video. Ravesh has a perfect beard to work with. It’s like cutting lumber. Would like to see a video on playing to your beard strengths.
Love love love this informative video.
Awesome work Matty..
Thanks Brian!!! Hope it’s helpful!
Loved it! Very satisfying to watch.
Free gems for your beginner barbers, LOVE IT! Thanks!
You are very welcome!
I was one of those people that commented about blending/tapering the beard. Thank you for defining a fade vs. taper! My beard length is close to your length (medium?) MAN! I do not feel confident doing last weeks beard trim and this weeks is a whole nother lvl.
I do line up my own beard in between cuts, usually using a safety razor every 2-3 days. I might look into a foil shaver. I could probably do it daily in 2-3 minutes.
I totally get it. It can feel a bit intimidating. It definitely takes practice.
Stunning! What a find!
Watched it. Did it. Came out awesome! Thank you for the video.
This was impressive, I genuinely enjoyed watching the video and I appreciate a skilled barber who knows what he's doing and talking about. Awesome!
Thanks for your videos. They're very helpful.
If you want ideas for future videos, I would appreciate one about how to achieve defined edges on a very curly beard. Every time I wash it or brush it, the edge is going to be different and lines are very blurry and round, until a point where there's always a big part that is transparent. If I trim this part, the next time it will look transparent again. I had a very long beard and I've just turned it into a ducktail.
All the best. 👋
Thanks Matty...definitely will follow these steps
Love that trick with the trimmer reverse C stroke never thought using it that way
ANOTHER great video! I relate to this shape and style a lot and thank you once again for a wonderfully informative narrative! I learned some new techniques on this one! Well done and a great production by the way too! Cheers my good man.
Thank you sir!!! I’m trying to get better at the overall editing… thanks for noticing!
Thanks so much! I’m trying my best! I appreciate the positive feedback!
This is exactly what I need, thank you!
Turned out awesome! Good work!
Wish I watched this video a while back. The fade technique is so cool and not that hard to pull of yourself. It looks best on guys with shaved heads. Thank you for this tutorial.
I'm bald with a beard and am about to do this to myself...please wish me luck! Lol
@@michaelcasey5453 Hey, how did it go? lol
Me encanto la tecnica para hacer la curva 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Another awesome video!
Quick tip: I’ve gone to barbers for most my life (50 years) and you can reduce the wear on your clippers as well as the “shrapnel” by barely going past the fade lines.
Basically, cut the upper 1/3 only, change guard, cut mid 1/3, change guard and finish.
It seems odd when you first see it, but the barbers I’ve had use this method give the best cuts and it grows out better.
Hope this helps👍🏻
Great tip!
wow his videos are very good i think we should be friends since we all enjoy his videos
Mr knows his stuff. Great tuto
Wow. You did an awesome job. That looks great.
Great Videos to help with beard ideas and management. Also thanks for the difference between fade and taper. I live in Spain and could have ended up with something crazy for an old man with my poor Spanish. I've kept a goatee forever but have decided to to have a go at a longer beard and mine is a bit different than any in your videos. Grey and curly
This is so classy & relaxing🤝🏻
It's a top notch video as always! Thx to you and some other valued UA-camrs, now I have my own "home Barbershop" at home. I purchased a Moser chrom 2 style blending edition clipper. The Wahl metallic guards from 3-25mm, the Moser magnetic guards from 1.5mm-6mm, a Philips narrow head beard clipper, safety razers, Chicago comb n°2, n°6 and n°8. West Cork Beard Company's oils and balms. An 5.75 shear scissors and a 6.35" thinner scissors 😅
Damn!!! Time to open up a barbershop!
@@mattyconradgrooming when I was a med student, I was the barber for the half of the dormmates. Now I'm only cutting hair for a few very close friends. And of course for myself since 2004.
I've enjoyed watching your series . I'm 32 never been to the barbers I lost my hair in late teens no just razor my head but last couple years I've had a go trying to style my own beard it's worked sometimes with the help of your videos . But I'm best man at my mates wedding last this year so gonna grow out my beard more and brave to go to the barbers and get some advice and help on what shape beard would look good on a bloke with a round ish bald head 😄.
Nice! I’m actually lining up a Heidie with a bald buddy of mine to talk about his beard shape.
Thanks Matt,, now i can get my beard look as i want it by myself.
Great video. That’s a fantastic trick to line up the cheek line too. Always something I’ve struggled with.
Glad I could help!
This video is amazing. What a craft. Presentation and teaching top-notch. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Your vid convinced me!
I will save it.
And the tip with curved line is brilliant!
Matty this is the best. Educating us at home self barbers! Gotta pay you homage in Gastown from Toronto someday!
Thank you for watching!!!
Nice to see a Vancouver local with so much of an internet presence! Ill have ti scope the shop when in walking through Gastown!
Thanks for this! I've never felt confident when going for a long beard, so I usually stay in the short beard zone
It’s all about what makes you feel good when you look in the mirror! Glad I could help!
me too. but since some weeks I let it grow and after some time and some trimming I really like it. First time after 33 years :D
great video. My beard isn't as thick volume wise so I battle with it to keep some of the wiry hair form sticking out. I don't have 1/2 size guards so I make the adjustments to with the actual trimmer. I have adjustments that take the guard from 0.8 to 2.0mm so with that adjustment and the 1 and 2 guards I can move down like you just did with the 1, 1.5, and 2 guards. I have to get an electric shaver now to make the fine cuts as you did when you took the high cheek hair off.
Another great video as always. Thank you!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi @Matty! Excellent video! Again!
Could you please make a video on trimming and shaping a moustache within a beard? I've seen your videos addressing moustache styles, but I feel that when it's part of a full beard you must follow different directions. Thanks!
Noted! I’ll keep that in mind!!!
True pro. Respect to you for mastering your craft.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for such an excellent educational video!
Wow! Wonderful job!
Smoooooth Matty... Thanks 4 sharing 👌
My man I learned so much, thanks for the knowledge
So satisfying ❤️
Thank you for your tutorials, it has saved us a lot of money during hard times!👊
I’m glad I could help.
Great video and very information, always enjoy your content, especially for someone with a full size beard!
I appreciate that!
Best tutorial hands down
What an awesome video and inspiration to get after it and check list off
I just started growing my beard. Will have to go through your videos. Thanks for the grooming tips. I'm 50 and have never grown a beard before.
Welcome to the bearded brotherhood sir!
Great Work Sir!!
I was watching this video and mostly like "yep I've got all this down." Then he showed that cheek line trick and damn that's sharp. Tried it and worked perfectly. Awesome 👍
Glad I could help!!!
Your voice and videos are therapeutic to watch, thank you for sharing!
Lol I can’t stand the sound of my own voice 😂. Thanks for the encouragement.
@@mattyconradgroominglol I agree that you have a nice voice and it’s calming 😊
That is some amazing skill and info. So glad to have someone show me the 'right' way to care for my garden hedge and try to make me look half-way groomed.
Lol I don’t know if it’s the right way… but it works for me ( and a lot of other guys apparently) thanks for watching!!!
@@mattyconradgrooming , if it works for you and me .. then it is the "right" way 😁
Awesome video Matty! 🔥
Appreciate it! thanks for watching!
I would love a video from you about recommended tools and proper beard care to prevent dry flaking skin
You got it!!!
This is best video of how fix a beard, thank you master for explain you knowledge
Excellent Matty! You knocked it "oooooout" of the park!
Haha. I see what you did there 🇨🇦
@@mattyconradgrooming I've got a buddy from Maine and he's got that quality accent too!
Yo ROCK. Thanks a ton for all of your tips and tricks my friend!
I think most of us, if not all of us, would LOVE your reviews on tools that we could use (or the BEST trimmers, shavers, etc.). There's way too much information out there and hard to trust different folks and their reviews.
Great idea! I’ll work on that
A *full in depth tutorial* of how to make the most awesome ducktail please. We really need a Matty C guide on that. Keep up the good work.
Hmmm I don’t have many clients that wear one. I’ll see what I can do!
Love the tips!
THANK YOU !
LOVE IT! Thanks!
I find fading is the hardest part about trimming your beard at home. The outlines i can get pretty easily by now and shaping and everything, but fading is effin hard... looking foward to the video now.
It definitely takes practice… if it’s any constellation outlining is more important 😜
Never knew how to properly groom until now! Thank you for your video's! After I watched this one, I tried it on myself, and it came out great! Keep posting and I'll keep watching!
That’s fantastic! Thanks for the feedback!
You're a great teacher. Thank you!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching
That curve technique blew my mind. I’ll for sure be using it next time I clean up my beard!
You’re Great !!! Very nice work ! I’ll try it by myself and I yet know it won’t be as you showed ! I’m sure ! 👏👏👏👍
This was an awesome video! I've watched hundreds of haircut videos and they have never mentioned the tip you gave for a perfect c cup when lining the beard the👍🏾
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
❤ Superb Tutorial.
This channel is a gold mine for information. I'm growing my very first beard at the ripe age of 49, and I won't lie, it's all a bit daunting. I'm currently at the "it's starting to get longer and it's all gone a bit wild stage!" 🤣
Same. I didn't grow my first beard until I was about 47. After I got my first real trim from a skilled barber, I actually got compliments from strangers on the street. This was after a lifetime of thinking I couldn't grow a beard.
Welcome aboard!
Me too! I’m right there with you! 49 this year as well and this Conrad kid is about to turn us all into beasts! Lol😂
That was so good!
Great video, thanks.
seeessshhh great work, learnt alot.
Love it… awesome job
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video, very helpful, thanks
Thanks for watching!
Very helpful indeed. Now I just need to split myself into too, so I can stand in front of my beard and do exactly what you did to him lol! this is very intriguing and satisfying to watch, but more useful if you're a barber, or want to become a barber. maybe I'll look around your page, and hopefully find a video where you trim your own beard. if not, please do a video of how you do these exact things to your own beard. Please and tanks
Masterful !
Thank you so much for this
It was really lit ❤
94k Subs.. good for you buddy. Saw you're doing some vids for the GQ channel too. Congrats! Will have to link up one of these days when I'm back visiting B.C.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Very good video my friend .So relaxing to watch
Thanks for watching!
Matty you have a great voice and speaking cadence. It made for quite an enjoyable video. An experience, if you will, because it went well with your grooming experience. Thanks!
Wow… thanks for that. I actually hate the sound of my own voice 😂. So it’s much appreciated
I've done some fading tried myself and I found it looks better (at least for a shorter beard than this guy) to set the lowest cheek line even lower and fade to skin ine or two inches above, then go with several clippers till the bottom cheek line. Makes it pop even more than only the sideburns
Definitely going to try this out Thanks
Hope you enjoy
Awesome job!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Nice and clean job
Idk what to ask for for my beard it’s still growing I have a lot on the bottoms, the cheeks area is still growing hair but it’s definitely growing a lot more than before. I also get a burst fade with the v on the back and like 2-3 inches on top to kinda style it with powder or gel for curly hair
Hey... nice work. Thanks
