Dr Furlan. Good evening. I had the facet joint injections in August 2020 and the nerve reduction treatment in february 2021. in August 2020 I spent 5 nights i the clini , my back spasm was so bad. Ive never experienced pain like it. and Its been a huge relief since. And I excercise much more now by using the bicycle. After each of the treatments I had kiniosologia (physotherapy) and alot of your excercises are the same as those recommended by the clinic that I attended for both procedures. I know my back will never be fully right and not its a bit more psycolgical for me now, Im terrified of this pain returning. The key I believe from my own personal experience is exercise but if it hurts dont over do it, and keep the weight off. The excess weight on the body its the first biggest stumbing block. Bar some other future miracle it is my only option for now. Thank you for your video. When our covid restrictions life here a little in South America I want to be strong enough to go back surfing ( fingers crossed ) Thank you again.

Thanks so much, Dr. F! Of all the vids on FJD, your suggestions were by far the most helpful. By squating instead of bending to pick up things, I now have 90% less pain/discomfort. Everyone's unique, but I'm 49 and got fit again through diet, swimming freestyle laps, cycling, running, and doing planks. And with my weight loss (20lbs) and stronger body, I'm even able to play some tennis again. And they say "sitting is the new smoking," so I try to get up from my desk every 20 min.

Thank you very much,. I enjoy listening to all your videos, as they are very informative especially for anyone who has issues with the back &, in my case, having had a . PLIF surgery 20yrs ago. The exercises that decrease my lower back pain the best are 1) both knees to chest, 2) alternating the knees to chest & 3) lying on my back, with buttocks as close as possible to a door frame & raising 1 leg straight up to the door frame(I stay in this position alternating legs, for 15 minutes or so).

Hi Dr Furian, I had a double facet joint nerve ablation 14 months ago and it just made the pain worse - and it's constant. Also, since the procedure, pain killers such as ibrufrofen are no longer effective. I can only assume the heated needle caused, seemingly permanent nerve damage. I know some people have found great relief from nerve ablation, but I would not recommend this 'last ditch' to anyone. Thank you for these helpful exercises, I do them before I play doubles tennis. Yes, at 71, I still play, even though the pain is sometimes so bad I can only limp about the court, however I'd rather play with discomfort and impairment, then not play at all.

I have lumbar disc, degenerative disc.disease, spinal stenosis, facet joint issues, and foraminal stenosis. Had back surgery laminectomy and cervical fusion. Standing in one place and sitting for long periods of time aggravate my pain. Child pose, cat and cow seem to help. It's a daily grind. I usually hear a pop and feel better after that. I also put a.pillow on the base of my back when seated which helps. Thanks for the video.
Hello James, Hope you are feeling better now, I have something similar to yours. and I am thinking of getting cold injections. Are you able to tell me if thats a good idea and if you took them? This will really help me. thanks.
Such a great video - all in one - which is difficult to find! Thanks a lot :) i have flat back and disc bulge & no jelly at l4 & l5, and have been told that squats are not good. Should i still pick up something from the floor in a squat position please?

Hi Faiz, there are some patients who have prostadynia, which is pain in the prostate region. I may do a video about that in the future. Great suggestion.
I have had low back pain for 6 months and have had a hard time getting a diagnosis. They think facet joint inflammation. Am doing PT. Your suggestions are great and very helpful and I am glad to have found you. I am very debilitated from this and hope to avoid the injection. Looking into ultrasound therapy. Meanwhile doing exercises like yours and occasional NDAIDS when it’s unbearable. I too have trouble with shoe tying and getting pants on.

Good 4 positions to adapt for acute episode 4 exercises to alleviate facet ji pain and 4 positions to avoid .good simple and fantastic explanations dr. Haats off
Madam its excellent 4-4-4 for those who have facet joint pain ..my query is 70 percent exaggerated lordosis during forward bending occasionally causes sudden catch over lumbosacral region .severe spasms ..this 4 is best for acute episode. Does this reduce lumbar lordosis or hyperlordosis 4 exercises ...???
Hi Dr Furlan I just found this video today which I is very useful. I read your book on chronic pain which is excellent, but between theory and practice it is hard to manage my pain. Not only I suffer from lower back issues, but also have cervical facet joint issues at C4-C5-C6-C7-T1 mainly due to bicycle accidents from the last 11 years caused by drivers running into me while riding. Last August I made the silly decision to get my C5-C6, C6-C7 discs decompressed with laser surgery in Florida at Deukspine. I also received bilateral cervical facet joint nerve ablations from C5-T1. I was promised that I would be totally out of pain, but the reality is the opposite. What exercises and stretches do you recommend for the cervical spine? There is a lot of material on UA-cam but I feel that your exercises are better and safer. Thank you. Alfred
Dear Dr.Furlant good evening I really really feel happy when I sent this message, do you know why because i had got more knowledge from your excercise vedio.keep it up and good ahead.
Thank you. I have severe face joint arthrosis on my left side. I can hear the joints crunching as I move at times. I have had denervation and injections and nothing helped. I have just followed your exercises and think they will be of help to me.

You are welcome!

Make a video about prostate problem. Thanks.
Hi Liz, I hope you get better soon.
Nice exersize doctora thanks more

Thank you Dr. Vignesh Kumar.
Does this 4 / 4 reduces exaggerated lumbar lordosis or hyperlordosis ??
Thank you, Doc, those are all great exercises and stretches I will work on.
You are welcome!
Thank you. Alfred
thank you, Dr. Furlan. you are v good and v thorough.
thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Cannot bend when sitting on chair.

@@maryannsmith7048what kind of injections are they?
Dear Dr.Furlant good evening I really really feel happy when I sent this message, do you know why because i had got more knowledge from your excercise vedio.keep it up and good ahead.
Thank you. I have severe face joint arthrosis on my left side. I can hear the joints crunching as I move at times. I have had denervation and injections and nothing helped. I have just followed your exercises and think they will be of help to me.
I actually had a hip replacement due to the pain but most of my pain was from the spine. Sadly, I now get pain in the hip area since the operation too
I love this episode... so simple and very doable. Thank you👌
