About my BetterHelp sponsorship - I want to share that I do look into each sponsor I accept. I don't take sponsorships lightly and have turned down way more than I've accepted because I don't endorse the product or it's not a good fit with the channel. I looked into BetterHelp before I accepted the sponsorship and learned that they have addressed and corrected the issues that people were concerned with. The channel Cinema Therapy stopped promoting BetterHelp when the issues arose in 2023, but now have resumed their sponsorship after working closely with the company. They have explained in detail, what the issues were, how they were corrected and some of the misinformation that is out there about BetterHelp: www.reddit.com/r/cinema_therapy/comments/1dpriql/addressing_the_betterhelp_concerns_headon_deep/ I am a huge supporter of online therapy and will continue to support it via the BetterHelp sponsorship. How come this channel has under a 100k subs?!?!? Theres nothing missing on the work you do. From the investigation, the graphics and of course the narration. Your videos are educational, entertaining, thrilling and even insightful. Everything is on point!

This is my first time hearing about Adas story. As a women whos struggling and scared about a lot of things. She gives me a lot of hope. Thank you for sharing her story.
Great storytelling! Absolutely loved getting to know Ada. Her resilience and ability to re-embody her ancestral teachings knowledge is amazing. Beautiful! Thank you for putting this story together.
Though I personally knew the story of Ada, I am glad you covered it so more people hear about it, and from such a great storyteller too. I would just add that one of the reasons we didn't hear more about her story is because, by all accounts, she really hated attention and stayed away from the media. She was an introvert and once this "adventure" was over, she preferred privacy and quiet life and wasn't seeking fame and glory.
What an amazing story. Thank you for sharing. The part that inspired me most was when she carried her son. Survived an abusive husband, lost children, had a sick child, carried him to town and then gave him up for his sake. This was one amazing young lady. Not surprized she made it. RIP those poor men.
Love your videos and the way you tell each story! Ada's evolution throughout this story is incredible. Also, I'm so happy to see that the cat made it onto the rescue ship and was looking good (54:14). Stories that involve animals always upset me!
Shrinking 5 shotguns to 3, plus less ammunition . Thats a very dangerous decision in a place often teaming with polar bears. Ada is the true hero here!
So many polar bears! And relying on those guns for food, so important to not downsize. Ada was amazing, love how she found her inner hunter and thrived after she was alone!
Yay for Ada! What an amazing story about will and determination. From a shy scared girl to a warrior women! Very sad about the others but am so happy she survived and was reunited with her son. Amazing job with this video. I am captivated with each story you share. Your storytelling is incredible, well done. ❤
She turned into a total badass. I love how she’s like “Lorne, you’re NOT going to tell me what to do now.” And how she built a boat when it never occurred to the men.
Wow, what a tale. Ada’s story is a testament to the well of strength and resilience we possess, often times drawn on in the face of the worst hardships. She turned her pain & fear into true and powerful strength. What a woman! Thank you for telling this story & bringing light to this adventure. I enjoyed hearing of Ada, Milton & Vic especially. They all touched my heart ❤
This channel rocks. Im a high altitude trekker so ive mostly been watching your everest videos, but also am fascinated by arctic exploration! You should consider covering the Franklin expedition
An honest, non-Hollywoodized movie? That'd be too much of a downer for commercial sales. And I don't want her struggles turned into some sort of "inspiration". There are Inuit filmmakers who could do the project though -- remember "Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner"? (Absolutely a movie to watch if you don't know it.)
Another incredible story told with such passion, admiration and respect. Thank you so much for bringing these lesser known tales into the light to be spoken once again. You are a beautiful story teller and have truly found your voice. Cant wait to hear about another adventure soon.🙏🏻☺️🏔️
23 is very young. I doubt she had Arctic hysteria.. she was from the Arctic. She missed her baby boy and was with strange men whose culture was incredibly different from hers. She was facing so many of her biggest fears. She was amazing. Those silly boys… it’s much more complex than hysteria.

I love your storytelling. This adventure was harrowing. Ada is an extraordinary woman. Her resilience and courage is extraordinary. Hers is a story that deserves far more exposure.
This episode is one my favorite Adventures Gone Wrong episodes. I can't believe it only has 13k views ... I've shared it with a couple of my friends. I've noticed lately that on my youtube feed they show me channels I'm not subscribed to and I have to search for new content from my favorite channels.
WOW! What a story! You did a great job with this video. And Ada’s determination and transformation is so incredible and inspiring. A true hero in every sense. It’s a shame we don’t know what happened to the other 3 men.
What a fascinating story. My first time hear about this one. Glad she finally recognized for her achievements. Thank you so much for providing us with great stories. 👍
TY for this account. About 25 years ago, I read another book about a group of stranded explorers that walked from Wrangle Island to Alaska, about 700 miles. The book was put together by the niece of one of the men on the expedition. She used his diaries and remembrances to try to provide as accurate an account as she could. Her uncle was born prematurely, and wasn't expected to survive, leave alone thrive. If I remember correctly, the uncle lived to be 93 - advanced old age by any standard. I've searched for the title of the book, but haven't come across it, or even anything close to an account of this expedition. Only the story you've related comes up. The CBC Canadian history series made in the 90s, has a surprising account of dealing with polar bears, gleaned from David Thompson's diaries. As a teen, he was in what is now Churchill, when the polar bears were gathered on the shore. Of course he was scared poop-less. The natives told him to just walk past them and don't look at them and they won't attack. I'm not sure if I could follow that strategy, but it seemed to work for him. He mapped about 1/3 of North America, and also lived to a ripe old age. Another surprising anecdote from that time was the natives insisting it was necessary to have women on the trip, because who would carry the heavy packs? It is sad that David Thompson's story is almost unknown. He lived an extremely eventful and productive life, his mapping being used for generations. As far as I've been able to tell, his diaries are now in some archive and are not published or publicly available. He did try to publish them in his lifetime, but couldn't get them printed for public consumption. He is a forgotten explorer, not given near as much credit as he deserves.
That is wild you mention David Thompson. My old junior high school is named after him and a few years ago I started researching him out of curiosity because in school we didn’t learn a lot about him. You’ve just given me more incentive to get back into his story! And that story about just walking past the polar bears… what! 🤣😳
Thank you so much for making people aware of this story! I loved hearing about Ada's personal transformation - as you put it so well, into a total badass! I'm only sorry that her heroism wasn't better acknowledged during her lifetime.
The amount of research, time and effort to make these videos must be enormous; appreciate the amazing work and how you tell the stories of these people
Always enjoy your stories! Interesting note about Wrangel Island… The last refuge of the Woolly Mammoth… Wrangel Island is a magical place. It’s the surreal combination of seeing their extinction in the scattered remains and yet all the while thinking that these are the riverbeds the last mammoth walked.
You really have a special channel here, it is unique in the stories you find for us, as well as the way you tell it, captivating us as if we were witnessing it firsthand... and the way you can find the rare comedic anecdotes in these stories, with my all-time favorite hands down being the guy who tried to save money by putting an ad in the paper to travel across the desert in a ridiculous car where they kept falling out when he took a turn too quick 😂🙌 The smirk that keeps sneaking up on your face as you tell that one, is absolutely priceless 👏💪👍 Anyway I just really appreciate you and the uniqueness you bring to UA-cam. Thank you 🤝
@adventuresgonewrong WOW - I am always happy when I see you post a new adventure. This story is one of my favorites. Ada's story should be made into a movie - a very brave and courageous woman who was able to survive against all odds! Thank you so much for sharing this adventure stories with us :)
Wrangel Island is 87 miles/ 140 km. from mainland Russia, about 365 miles / 587.5 kilometers from Alaska, and about 798 miles / 1.28 megameters from Canada (Herschel Island used as reference). Wild to think that someone once considered claiming an island in the arctic that close to Russia for Great Britain/Canada.
Idk what the hell Alan was thinking. U find a gorgeous indigenous women that's willing to follow u into death and despair in a frozen hell and u turn down her affection. What a badass of a women.
that's sad. If the men just stayed on the camp site and hunted for food around that area just like Ada did I'm sure they would've survived. But on the other hand if the men stayed on the camp site, Ada's survival and hunting instinct wouldn't materialized and who knows how the group would fair. Though I believe their survival would be better.
Geez, I don't know where you keep finding these amazing historical incidents that no one else has covered. Well done, and thank you--great channel! I’m also curious about the ideas 💡 you had in the beginning of creating your channel?? Just watching your videos, I gather your an outside adventurer, would be interesting to hear some of your own experiences in the great outdoors ❤
@@adventuresgonewrong Must be interesting to experience the great outdoors in Canada 🇨🇦 I’m from a small town where we had the beach at one end and the outback behind us and around us. As an adult, Canada 🇨🇦 looks like a great place for a holiday destination to go explore some of the beautiful places I’ve seen only in videos like 👍 yours. I love your reciting of the Mount Everest tragedy in 1996, I really enjoyed seeing The events as they played out, it must have been a brutal ordeal for the survivors of that blizzard, and poor Beck Weathers, abandoned time and time again, I guess the allure of climbing would have paled against actually being able to hug his lovely wife peach, and his children after the nightmare of being so high on the 10 th of may 1996. And I’m baffled by the fact that David Brashears and his I max team went down due to the forecast of bad weather coming in. So I don’t understand why rob hall and Scott Fischer led their respective teams into the blizzard 🥶 that claimed peoples lives and cost so many families so much pain. It bothered me so much, the fact that David Brashears and his I max team came across the frozen 🥶 recently deceased bodies of people whom they had known . How could anyone deal with such an awful experience on Everest. Boggles my mind. Beck Weathers has said that climbing Everest is not an accomplishment in itself, but rather how much a person is revealed, moral courage, is what he actually said. I’m fascinated by high altitude climbing, but the cost and the risk is too high for me. You did a great job covering it. Parts 1, 2, and 3❤️❤️

For people who want to know more, there's a book on this by Jennifer Niven! It goes into a huge amount of detail

Oh, as always, an incredible story! I love Ada!
I’m also curious about the ideas 💡 you had in the beginning of creating your channel?? Just watching your videos, I gather your an outside adventurer, would be interesting to hear some of your own experiences in the great outdoors ❤
I like the outdoors and have had some sketchy experiences myself. Plus I just love these kind of stories!

Must be interesting to experience the great outdoors in Canada 🇨🇦 I’m from a small town where we had the beach at one end and the outback behind us and around us. Parts 1, 2, and 3❤️❤️
Have always loved this history story and job well done !
