  • Deleting social media isn't the easiest thing to do, but it did this for me and created a better life. I hope it inspires you to do the same. This is my journey off of social media so far and how I accidentally started something that absolutely changed my life.

Very true and it's so easy to get sucked back in which I find the most worrisome 😅

Great video love that more people are discussing how truely addictive it is.
I deleted my whole Facebook account a few years ago best decision ever (after backing up all the photos).
I got sucked back into making a second dummy account for work purposes, but I didn't add any friends. One negative / annoying thing is that all my local running groups use Facebook to organise weekly runs, so you can kind of miss out on actual healthy activities/events - staying in the loop.
Highly recommend deleting your Facebook/social accounts to anyone considering it, real friends will still call and message you. You can reclaim so much time and clarity for more important things in life and give your self a chance to just be bored again which I think is healthy.
Then if you actually find you need Facebook you can create a new "dummy" account primarily for whatever you actually need it for and keep it on a computer not your phone.
    Love the picture!

That's such a great point and something that has changed in my life recently since deleting everything. I now have a physical community of people I see on almost a daily basis for physical exercise and it's amazing! Thankfully they're all good with texting so it's made the transition easier to stick to 😁

"Practice makes progress" - That's a good one. I only knew the saying "practice makes perfect".

Wish I could coin it but I think the person I heard it from was Tony Robbins. I love that iteration though because it suggests there's always room to improve 😊

I have that same alarm clock that lights up. It's pretty good but sometimes it's a bit buggy.

What about UA-cam? Is it social media? I recently deleted my Instagram account permanently. Only one app i got stuck that is UA-cam. What should i do?

I've been suckered in as well. Especially because I like making videos it can be a hard thing to balance. I would say UA-cam is probably the least problematic as its longer form and tends to have topics explained deeper than a minute. The way I've been working around it is replacing it with another thing (in my case reading books and art) but when I am on it, I'm aware as to why. I personally am trying to get my attention span back and have more time for the things I actually enjoy. Short-form content fries me out but watching a TV show or video over 10 minutes doesn't mess with my brain as much. Maybe see if you can transition to watching a TV show or an easy-to-do hobby to minimize falling down the UA-cam rabbit hole. Hope this helps!
