You misunderstand how thr military aid works. The equipment sent to Ukraine is already earmarked appropriations to the US military by Congress through the budget process. The money will be spent by the military regardless of if it's allocated to Ukraine or ammunition manufacuring or to build barracks. It's disingenuous to assert that this money could be spent elsewhere when it had already been scheduled to be spent that way from the beginning. The only way this money would go elsewhere would be if Congress allocated less money to discretionary military budget from the get go.

I had over 100k in student loans I managed to pay them off. But this country has a serious problem with student loan debt. If this forgiveness helps people that aren’t as fortunate to pay down their students loans it shouldn’t be a problem. It shouldn’t be a basis of fairness life isn’t fair. Sorry, but I disagree. The money owed in student loan debt is an obligation that was made by each person who has student loans, it's not something someone else should be responsible for. So, if the federal government bails out those who have student loan debt, it's federal government money which comes from money paid by American citizens in federal income taxes. Every American citizen who pays income taxes will be paying for that forgiven student loan debt if the Supreme Court doesn't sustain the appellate court. Anyone who pays federal income tax will be paying for every dollar forgiven by the federal government for student loan debt. The only way to avoid doing so is to stop paying income taxes, and I don't advise that at all.

Rather than forgiving debt, they need to change the rules so that student loan debt can be treated like any other type of debt in bankruptcy court. Currently, a bankruptcy court has NO power to modify student loan debt if someone were to go through bankruptcy. Change this. Then if something catastrophic happens and some has to go through bankruptcy, the court would have the power, like ANY other debt to modify the principle, interest rates, repayment options etc. I myself would never want to use thst option, but life happens. If I suddenly became disabled due to an accident and needed the tools of a bankruptcy court to save my home, I should have that option. Currently my parental plus loans would be excluded from any such remedies and that simply is unfair when you have people like Trump us bankruptcy on a regular basis as part of doing business. Taxpayers have been paying the DOE to fund student loans and pell grants for decades, and the interest the DOE gets from those that are paying on their loans further supports its funding in students education and the servicers that handle student loans.

In fact, he has done just that, through actions of un-elected bureaucrats writing rules. My son made less money in '22 than he made in '21, but he paid $300.00 more in taxes. If you think your taxes (federal income tax) won't increase, you're living in La-La Land! The low-middle income people are the ones who are hurt the worst by the inflation (this bailout will go a long way to further increase inflation), And don't kid yourself, everything is going to continue to go up in cost. The cost of groceries has doubled or tripled in the past two years; for instance, butter has almost doubled in cost, cheese has doubled also, and gasoline prices have substantially increased. These students voluntarily entered into these loan agreements, at the interest rates prevailing. I have never gotten debt forgiveness from any company or any person. I'm concerned that today's young people are completely abandoning their responsibilities to pay their bills. It is hurting every American taxpayer. That's just a fact of life. Sooner or later, you run out of ground on which to escape. If you have student loan debt, I think you'll eventually end up having to pay it since student loan debt is not a debt which can be discharged in bankruptcy. If you become self-employed, do you honestly think the federal government can be prevented from seizing the very tools you work with? The answer to that is NO. I worked as legal support staff for about 45 years, so unless the law changes drastically, I think you'll end up paying the student loan debt, either voluntarily or involuntarily. I don't give legal advice. Oh, and by the way, if the federal government executes on a final judgment, do you honestly think cash would be exempt from seizure? Don't think so! Get legal advice!

Every American taxpayer will be taxed more. I didn't and don't support bailing out banks, millionaires or billionaires. My main objection is that those who have student loan debt are still allowed to make $125,000 for a single person and $250,000 for a couple. Anyone who makesssssssssssssssssss that much of an annual salary SHOULD NOT qualify for forgiveness. I've never been wealthy or even really comfortable. I have always, always worked for a salary to provide support for myself and my immediate family. If a couple is making a quarter of a million dollars a year, they SHOULD be well able to pay their debts, debts they themselves incurred. I have a deep empathy for those who have been severely affected adversely by the pandemic. On the other hand, I do have disgust when I see those taxpayers who got treasury checks which were sent to every American taxpayer promptly go out and purchase large screen (50" or more) television sets. That's just ridiculous. I also know that those of us having common sense did not make purchases such as that. I sympathize with those who have large amounts of student loan debt. but they are the ones who chose to apply for and obtain those student loans. Nor did I have any control over the tuition costs set by the colleges and universities the student loan debtors chose to attend. Those who have student loan debt made that choice, and now the American taxpayer is being asked to pay for it through the federal income taxes we pay every year. Even $5 month in additional income taxes places an extreme burden on those of us whose income is very low. There's but one area of expenditure to cut and that's food. Yes, I do object to this program, primarily because I still have to eat to survive.
