Great video demonstrating how to achieve great coffee dyed papers. I live in Texas and will be doing a lot more of mine outside now that I’ve seen your video. I only have one of the vinyl placements so will be purchasing more because they work so nicely and have a good weight. I just did the avacado dyed papers and wow….such pretty pink papers. Thanks for sharing and love your dyed papers.
@@codegrrl Not so far! My husband is a coach of several sports, so we find ourselves there on occasion. My daughter was very interested in Paul Bunyan for the longest time, so we even brought her to Bangor once just so she could see the statue. 😂 We wound up making a day of it. 😏
I love this! I'm new to junk Journaling and have been shopping for antique paper and heard about coffee dying and had no idea it was this easy! I'm trying this today!! New subscriber!!
Awesome, all the papers were fantastic, I've always used my stove to dry papers. I live in the south, so I sm going to put the sun to good use this summer. Thank you for posting the video.
Wow…I’ve finally found the look I’ve been wanting to achieve for my junk journals!! I have so many papers from the 60s & 70s of my mom’s. She was church secretary and was into a lot of crafts. Macrame, made all our clothes & cross stitching, just to name a few things she did. They also saved every paycheck, warranties of every appliance bought, etc from 1962 on! So glad I found your channel. Blessings from N. GA 🍑👋🏻
I’m new to your channel…. I LOVE this idea for Dyeing paper!! I tried dyeing them like you did with coffee and vinyl placemats…. But… didn’t spray them!!…. You got such BEAUTIFUL RESULTS ❣️👍Thank you for showing your process
I know this video is from 2 years ago...but it just came up for me and I am looking forward to watching what you do with your papers. But I just want to say I think that first journal in particular is just gorgeous...each and every page 😊 [I will see if you did a 'flip-through' video ifor it....if not I think I'll be putting this one on a slow speed and try to have a proper look that way... 😅]
Everything turned out really beautiful ! I love them all, even the accidently folded paper that was under the large mat with the autumn leaves, because it's the surprising part of the process. You just never know how some things turn out, it's what I like about it. Really cool and pretty !
These turned out lovely my only challenge is it is so windy where i live. I loved the Leaf one the best. TFS and the great tips I forgot about the plastic doily circle one I had. Take Care Hugs and Smiles
These are all so beautiful. I wonder if stencils might also work, what do you think. I guess the biggest problem would be keeping them from blowing away.
I love that flower lace one omg im so wanting to try this asap. ive had ok coffee dyed paper in the oven but the sun dyes it waaaay better. i love all the patterns they look so amazing
Thank you, I love the leaf one and the crochet patterned one. I did a method from another person and it didn't turn out. I think your way is easier and very effective. Can't wait to try it x
Your papers are beautiful... I’ve had things ready to do some coffee dyeing for a couple of weeks, but haven’t gotten “a round to it”. Now I’m glad! I was going to do it on my dining room table... it’s marble and I put trash bags on it when I avocado dyed paper (my first and only attempt at dyeing paper). But now I’m moving outside! I’m so glad you shared your process with us before my first coffee dye experience! I had no idea what the sun can do for paper dyeing. BTW... my avocado 🥑 things are pretty, but just pink, no real patterns.
Fabulous video. I already do this but seeing your process I’m able to tweak my method a little bit. I haven’t been spraying after so I’m going to try it for some darker results. ❤
Maybe you should try other brands of the lined and graph paper, I use them all the time and they work great. The only thing is they are a little more fragile while wet but dry absolutely beautiful.
I am so excited! I have tried coffee dying with a Prints many times and have not been super successful. I think the way you did it with the towel underneath and out in the sun might be the piece I was missing. Thank you
Hi there , can I ask.please , whete did you purchase Ur plastic doilys ect All I can find is spotlight I'm wheelchair bound n struggle to get out Iv just started my own Chanel bout 6 months ago n I.just found Ur Chanel Love the darker dyed patterns tyfs xxx sp
Oh my heavens! These coffee-dyed papers/cards are beautiful. I love them all. Thank you for sharing your process. By the way, do you use instant coffee or do you make coffee in the coffee pot and pour in pan?
Hi Ann, I use cheap instant coffee and just mix some of it into water in the aluminum pan I dye my papers in. No coffeemaker needed. But if you have leftover coffee in your coffeemaker you can certainly use that too 😊 I sometimes use my hubby’s leftover coffee 😋
fyi - the combustion temperature of paper is 480°F. So just keep your oven below, say, 400° and you don't have to worry about it. (Also, we use paper in the oven - think about parchment paper, waxed paper - at the worst, it turns brown. Even if a pile of paper were to catch fire at 500F in your oven, it's the same as if you forgot your dinner and it burned. You have some soot to clean out of the oven. It's a steel box. It's not going to burn down your house. (Now burning something on top of the stove ... that's a whole other story :-)
Wow those papers are fabulous, I’m in the UK so it is hit and miss if we get sunny weather so I will be trying this indoors. Thanks for sharing.
These are beautiful!! Using stencils is also an effective way to get a pattern

i love your designs great job
Beautiful results !!! love it/
Gorgeous!
Really nice results! Seems easier than doing the plastic tub method..
I suspect its not the sun that makes the darker spots but the extra spritz of coffee. Great patterns!
Beautiful

Thank you so much Matilda 🥰
Thank you for talking about papers and the weight.
Wow! Can't wait to get started!
Let me know how your papers turn out! 😊😊
I've tried a couple of different ways, but the lace design doesn't show up at all. Tips?
@@sherriarnone-wheat3634 How did you dry your paper? Mine only comes out well when I dry it in the hot sun.
Sounds like I need to wait a few months! I look forward to watching more of your videos.

They are great, I’ve got heaps of stencils I can use to do this with coffee. I reckon I’ll give it a shot tomorrow.
How are the pages so flat and perfect? Super job
WOW
Excellent patterns! Most interesting patterns online ❤

These look great!! TFS
gorgeous !! its winter here but was able to do this inside using a cookie sheet over our wood heat grate, TFS !
Love the Fall one with the leaves. Just a little hint, don't dry them in the oven if you are using vinyl. The heat from the oven will damage them.
These are all so beautiful. I wonder if stencils might also work, what do you think. I guess the biggest problem would be keeping them from blowing away.
