Did you make the high poly just from adding subdivisions? When I baked it in substance, my curvature map was mostly one solid color and didn't give me any detail?
yes, make sure you smooth the model a few times before exporting.
@@3dextrude so what is your low poly? you clicked 3 when you started the model, but when you switch back to 1 its very out of shape. How do you lower the poly count and keep the geometry the same as when you hit 3?
@@callofdutyguy247 I did smooth it out and set it back to 1 at which point it was a bit higher poly but still not too bad; also removed some unnecessary geo
@@3dextrude Oh I see. Last question, what was the purpose of merging the vertex's near the top and bottom into triangles? I thought you'd want to keep as many quads as possible.
@@callofdutyguy247 That was part of reducing the poly count, though more could have been done. Triangles are fine if you are making a game model, quads are required if you are making film or very high res models.
