This is true of many 3rd world countries. I've met some of the nicest, kindest and most generous people amongst those that have nothing. On the flip side I've been robbed blind by supposed law enforcement and other officals (where bureaucracy is used a method of extortion) in the same country.
The thing is when things do go bad they go very bad. Still I wouldn't change my travels as the good memories outweigh the bad many times over.

Hi I am deeply respectful of your quite incredible journey. I have completed two major journeys over the past 4 years. First was Mumbai to London riding a BMW GS 650 and the second from LA to Santiago Chile during 2023 riding a KTM 790 ADV R. Having watched your vids I wish to suggest the following :
    1) install a steering damper on your bike. I have used MSC steering dampers for both journeys and the steering damper saved a lot of potential crashes/drops. MSC is an Australian company and I am sure Vaughan would appreciate helping you. Essentially when riding through sand, rough terrain and high winds just turn the dial and the bike will go where you point it.
    2) work on tyre pressure pressure ie lower the tyre pressure in sand and mud. You will have improved traction. I always carry a tyre pump to fix flats and to adjust tyre pressure as required.
    Best Regards
    Ian Yates

What l want to clarify hear is that misconduct and indisciplined in form corruption is everywhere and not only peculiar to our country alone. Even the Netherlands is no exception nor immune to corruption. As a matter of fact it's one of the most notorious corruption mecca of Europe. The point is that Holland is very wealthy and workers are well paid so petty corruption is almost nonexistent. However, when big capital is involved the whole world is aware the Netherlands is a very fertile group for corruption in high places by the untouchables and a network of very dangerous criminal syndicates
Sometimes even protected by the law etc. The biggest port in Europe is situated in Rotherham where % 80 of the illicit narcotics in Europe and many rich countries is transited and distributed ,but only less than %10 is being intercepted with very few foot soldiers arrested. l've lived traveled extensively in Europe and l've seen alot. Each country has its system. In the richest countries it's top level and invisible while in the poor ones it's another ball game altogether. Young lady, have fun but be very careful because l can assure that all eyes are on you now as you're trending while monetizing. Wish happy Christmas and memorable adventure. Always remember that Africa is beautiful, very welcoming, sympathetic and tolerant with strangers regardless of challenges and discrepancies

    Hi Noraly,
I’m happy to see you ride safely into Cameroon 🇨🇲. I lived in the NW region for 2+ years as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I’m very familiar with your current environment. So cool to see your trip taking place there.
Ashia! Those roads are difficult but the people are friendly and kind. They will always help. You will always hear… You are Welcome. We are together. Nous sommes ensemble.
The roads have a lot of clay. They are very slippery. Not much can be done about it. Very common across the country. Please enjoy the large skies, rolling hills, big mountains and lush valleys. It is beautiful.
Drive carefully in urban environments! There are many skilled moto riders but also some risky car drivers. Not to mention large trucks, heavy lorries, big busses, etc.
Ndolé uses “bitterleaf”. You will see other tasty dishes. Have some egg-spaghetti, but don’t leave without njama njama and fufu. Some rice with peanut sauce is great, as well as white yam and haricots (beans) :) tasty. French fries are simply called “irish potatoes”, as opposed to sweet potato.
Security-wise, the NW and SW is still unstable. The political conflict has made life very difficult for locals. There are non-government armed forces around. They have their mission. But so do the very large and present armed government forces.
Waka fine. Wish you luck on your journey through “Africa in Miniature” and prove yourself une lionesse indomitable. Bonne chance et un joyeux noël.

Good survival instincts when she said she didn't know where she'd sleep. I used to travel across Africa for commodities in my car years ago when I first discovered google maps. People weren't really using it much in Nigeria then in 2012. I would go to places I'd never been to and even go off road for short cuts. Once, I got delayed and was travelling late (or early) in the A.M. Two guys on two bikes drove past me and stopped in front. I parked my car then turned off my lights. It was pitch dark. After some time, they started their bikes and left. They saw I was not going to go forward to them and they probably thought for someone to park and turn of his lights, it's probably not a good idea for them to come to me. Thinking back, I was taking a lot of risks. God really guided and protected me.

One thing I've learned from watching all your travels, especially in Africa, when on the road, people look out for each other, I love it! Safe travels Noraly
