Ray tracing is not used in replays when 120fps is on, even if you select ray tracing/resolution. Ray tracing only shows in replays at 30fps (when 120 fps toggle is off)
I run a 4k 65" Samsung at 120fps here in UA. I did not bother with ray tracing as it is only for replays.... What I have is a crystal clear experience with this and am 100% pleased.
i played the new patch for about 20min. as soon as i set to 120 i noticed all the jaggies, after tweaking it i tried the resolution mode with 120 and it looked pretty close to the old 60fps performance. it does feel much smoother and more reactive now
I mean FFB is a function of physics and the suspension/tyre model they changed. Now it's more in line with reality. Hardest change for me is the ABS severely affects your trail braking now.
This is how every modern game should be designed. Inherently, any game that runs "locked 60fps" will be running around 80fps average, it's really bizarre that a simple option to unlock the framerate wasn't automatically made universal with XSX/PS5.
You're not imagining things, the update included comprehensive changes to every part of the physics, from tire simulation, aerodynamics, suspension, and even changes to the gamepad control input system as well. Every car in the game handles more realistically now. Cars that were too snappy and hard to drive are now more stable, and cars that were too sluggish and boat like are lighter and livelier.
I agree changes are positive, but some cars handle much worse. GT-R was a boat when braking, now it's a boat all the time and braking after a fast straight is almost impossible.
@@kresimircosic9035 Then I expect they will keep fine tuning the physics in future updates. This update made road cars feel much better in general, which I think has been a weakness since GT Sport. That game was more focused on making race cars fun. Now the game as a whole feels better balanced, and I’m finding all cars more enjoyable. I haven’t tried any GT-R though with this update. Hopefully we won’t have to wait until GT8 before they feel authentic. I think it’s a good sign they noticed that the physics and controls could be better and did the work to change them in a patch. Usually that doesn’t happen.
@@PeterHas Yeah, for example the NISMO GT-R handle much better, but the regular one is a much worse boat than it was. So hard to drive (speaking with SM tyres, not some RSSSSSSS tyres)
@@kresimircosic9035 The sports tyres definitely have less grip than they should. There's a video of Keiichi Tsuchiya of Hot Version trying out GT Sport for the first time. He picks a car and track he's driven countless times in real life, and he noticed that the sports tyres all had much worse grip than the real life car. To get a realistic level of grip he had to swap to racing tyres. I'm guessing GT7 is still similar, that the sports tyres can't match the performance of real life performance street tyres.

It looks good, i guess it's around 1440p-1800p but you have less light reflections and the image still feels a bit blurry compared to 4K mode. I prefer the sharp 4K look and to be honest, 60fps is very smooth and good for my eyes, 30fps make my eye hurt, but anything above 60fps is not really needed. I recommend 120hz Frame Rate Mode when it comes to online racing (playing against other players), but playing against AI, i stick to 4K Frame Rate
there is no difference between 120hz resolution and 60hz resolution. It's the same graphics only with open FPS. I was able to see it myself at home. There is no difference, only if you choose the frame rate 120hz then it looks worse

Just to clarify, it’s from 4K down to 1080p, you can see the resolution drop by pressing your tv info (depending on your tv: it will show 1920x1080, HDR, UHD marker will be gone), this is even with prioritise resolution option turned on within the GT7 settings. However, If your hdtv supports 1440p and VRR, then that should be the best result but it’s still nonetheless a drop from the usual 4k resolution in order to obtain the desired 120. Also it’s not just a resolution drop: they most likely have taken out on-track details (such as reduced number of trees, foliage, fewer grass and road textures, less crowds and people, removing background enhancements like fireworks, airplanes, drones and helicopters etc) and removed motion blur and anti-aliasing etc. It is absolutely not in 4K, at the max it is QHD, which is 1440p.

I don’t understand why anyone would play GT7 on a flat screen anymore so, while its a nice free improvement, it feels a bit of a “previous gen” improvement.
Picture quality and screen tech inside a VR headset still lags behind a 4K OLED screen. Plus, not everyone can play VR for longer sessions. VR is the future but with its current limitations it should be complimentary to a screen (for now). Good thing switching between flat and VR in GT7 is seemless AF.
Well, most people don't have a VR headset. So upgrades to the flat screen version are welcome. But you are right. After trying this game in VR, I don't think I'll ever play it flat-screen. Sure, a TV looks better, but the immersion VR gives you, especially for games in a cockpit/driver seat, is much better.

Ya, the current consoles have some great bang for buck. More so than ever before. I've considered going PC in the past. But I found I am satisfied with these consoles and can't really justify getting a PC to myself. The consoles give a great game experience for so much cheaper.

@@lukemorris9066 Yep. And the console optimization makes up for a lot in the power gap between PC and Console. Games not being properly optimized, so even on the highest teir PC it runs like garbage while consoles do fine. That's the developers fault, but still. I couldn't help but notice that Hogwarts ran fine on console while it stuttered its way through PC. And a lot of games do the same until they are fixed. So while PC is the top dog for gaming, the consoles appeal to me more. Less problems, more bang for the buck, and overall deliver a good experience.
@Sawdust to have a clear jump over the current gen consoles you'd need a 3070 witch is a heavy buck and as you say games are hit and miss on pc witch isn't great seen as the money they cost ... as I said high to ultra settings at 60fps/4k/1440p is a seriously good gameing experience

my opinion if can afford it new a tv that supports game optimiser for ps5 & series x so can see exactly wot any game running out this why buy a lg c2
@@exgeeinteractive picture quality in 2D now feels redundant (I have a 65” VFR OLED) as the benefits of 3D far outweigh everything. Back in the original Oculus Rift days I agree that quality was too poor (I loved Project Cars 2) but it’s now “good enough” and the cars are transformed beyond belief if you’ve never seen VR. I feel like I’m driving a car now and not playing a game on a TV. Add in a G Pro wheel and its a full workout lol. Appreciate not everyone can afford a VR headset and DD wheel but if you can afford an OLED TV… £$
@@sawdust8691 yeah I don’t mean to disrespect people without a VR headset and all improvements in gameplay are great for the community. It’s the UA-camrs I really feel sorry for as they currently have to stream in 2D to engage with their community while secretly playing in VR whenever else they can. We need headset streaming integration as well as third party apps like Sim Dashboard
@@markbooth Nahhh, picture quality is still far off, unless we're talking about a Pimax Crystal levels of resolution+screen+lenses.
Played GT7 on VR at launch with my rig (got mine in March 24th) and I believe everything that you said. But the PSVR2 is still a hard sale for many, prolly because of the price tag and launch library syndrome.
S95b will make 60fps looks better than 120fps image quality and as smooth as the VRR 80 to 100 fps fluctuation that the game is showing up. Try it out it will smooth everything and clean up the downgrade in resolution. Turn off game mode and use the pitcture clarity mode on 10 blur reduction and 10 on judder.
How was the input lag? I think anything other than game mode would induce unplayable amount of input lag especially when you turn on the dejudder feature.
@@johnsonluk3468 it felt normal i had the same concern but really not noticeble
How tf you still get motion blur with the 120 hz mode😭
When i turn it on it just completely disable the motion blur effect
120fps mode is a big downgrade.
Resolution RT is the best
The Graphics are more than good on this game but the gameplay is stiff as hell also the sound of the cars are terrible!
I'm pretty sure this is off-topic... but as long as GT keeps ignoring collision damage, it will always be a "Hot Wheels" simulation to me, no matter the fps rate.
It literally has collision damage, what game are you playing??
It's not the gt7 makers, it's the car manufacturers that are licensed to be use in gt7, they will not allow bad damage.
@vyas rushi it's absolutely superficial. You can bounce at all the cars during all the race and finish it in one piece. It's only for visuals.
@@Rob-eg8qc I understand, but I don't care about which deal has been done between the company and car brands... as long as I have decent collision damage simulation.
@@eflobo it would make it more realistic, but it won't happen unfortunately.
The new Forza’s gonna whip its ass. Can’t wait till September.
I agree it looks amazing!
No it won't xbot
Count on it being delayed 😅
it will no different from the others. Fun for a bit then everyone will go online and get rammed into the first corner with no punishment to the offender on every race which causes anyone who takes racing games serious to stop playing and go back to better games like GT7, ACC and Iracing
Sure thing bud.
Gran Turismo > forza
Agree. I have Forza 7 & GT7. GT7 is the better game
The new Motorsport coming soon does look pretty freaking amazing, though.
Forza looks better...that's my only disappointment with Polyphony at the moment. Textures could be more photorealistic.
@@sawdust8691 Nah
@@youngsir3657 it doesn't
Definitely a visual downgrade in this mode, less but it's there
With your talent, i dont understand why u missplace information about fps and the build in game optimizer.😂 you do know its not a real fps counter ? It just shows the hrtz of the tv and your using boost mode to output the signal to 120hrtz😅
The 119 is the Hz of the signal strength. Doesn't mean you'll actually achieve 120fps ingame😂 Use fraps for real actual fps. Or digital foundry. Same as with god of war ragnerok. 120 fps mode actual ingame fps is between 80 and 90 and yes tested bij digital foundry. While lg shows 119 with the game optimizer ;)
You are wrong sorry. Within the vrr range Hz and FPS are the same. The game has a very stable 120fps mode and a 60fps+ mode . The game optimiser on the LG is showing the correct values here.
@@GamingTech-UA-cam I am not wrong, was waiting for you to say this. Check digital foundry god of war ragnerok review. The game max fps on 120 mode is between 80 and 90 fps. And the tv say 119 ;) So what u say now is that digital foundry is wrong 😂 but i am sure u wont replay back on this comment. Discussion closed.
@@darylkeam7670 That's just wrong. If you are in the VRR Range the number is correct. You can see it in my video: ua-cam.com/video/Cdg7AC8QQoE/v-deo.html . Not sure why this is so hard to understand?! What is the timestamp in the video from DF where I can see this? Link?

@@darylkeam7670 discussion is not closed until you watch the DF GT7 120 htz mode video. (Instead of watching the GoW video, which is a different game)
GT7 runs 120 fps
Sony is such greedy fools killing GT7 by not putting it on PC where it would shine at 144fps on a great rig. Imagine how nice it would be for the health of the Dev's to get an extra 100 million + in sales.
I now no longer support Sony in any of their business's. Vote with $$$ I bought a Sammy TV
Cry harder port beggar
Dirt Griggity 🤦🏼♂️🤡
Lol, so 90% of PC players can pirate it?? NO Thanks....they will only release it on PC once the GT7's PS5 version dies down in sales, maybe late 2024??? not anytime soon
Gt7 should stay only on Ps5. Pc brigade still have Richard burns rally.
Even this update, still it's graphics are worse than Forza's horizon 5.
Basically you're paying a few hundred extra dollars for 30 frames more from a native 4k 60Hz. The fact one can go from an indistinguishable difference of 120-90 shows frames aren't that big of a deal, just as how it already runs smoothly at 60 as stated. It's like paying for Nike when the unbranded shoes get you the same quality.
Marcus, if you could have only 1 console, series x or PS5, which would you choose?
PS5 ! I like the first party title and I prefer the Edge Controller over the Elite
@@GamingTech-UA-cam Nice, thanks!!
Doesn't work in vr
The ps5 is basically a 2080ti for £480....... if that ain't a good deal I don't know what it.
Ya, the current consoles have some great bang for buck. More so than ever before.
I've considered going PC in the past. But I found I am satisfied with these consoles and can't really justify getting a PC to myself.
The consoles give a great game experience for so much cheaper.
@Sawdust I agree I was looking into pc before getting a series x ... im playing games at basically high to ultra settings at 60fps between 1440p/4k as I said there literally a 2080super/ ti witch still gives a great gameing experience.
@@lukemorris9066
Yep. And the console optimization makes up for a lot in the power gap between PC and Console.
If you want a PC experience that's better than a console, you need parts that are a lot more powerful and expensive.
And it seems PC has also been having a lot of problems lately.
