Vacs and Videos has been my go to for decades. Their original location down the road was at least 4 times bigger with an arcade in the back. That building was old and had to be torn down.
This surprises me because usually the West Coast has the best video game selections and thank you for providing the name of the stores in the video. Most UA-camrs don't do that
Nice how there are always Cody's Twilight surprise hidden DVDs among game bundle when you are about to go buy games🙂. Always great to see game hunting and road trip videos!
I got my complete copy of the Maximum Carnage box set from a local game store like 10 years ago. They had a price tag of like 500$ on it. It came with everything, including a sealed copy of Maximum Carnage - I sold the sealed copy for 600$ (obviously before the WATA style grading became en vogue so I could've gotten more if I waited) ... but I basically got paid to add it to my collection. They are incredibly rare. I think the 2800$ price tag isn't high enough for how uncommon they are.
I used to think there was something special about computers where I lived growing up but I didn't know until like 2015 that there was a microcenter on the same road I lived. lol
Looking back and what you got as a whole, was the trip worth trading in your Dreamcast collection? Even though you spent a good chunk on travel costs, it seems you enjoy the hunt and experience finding what you want to complete your SNES collection more than just the easier way of buying online and local conventions.
Great video . Made me laugh several times including this is a signed echo the dolphin poster signed by…the dolphin. Also loved the comment this store is wide open, I love it….you could have a half pipe here.
How is it feasable for you to buy games like Chrono Trigger from another store? Are you taking very slim margins to fill up the new location, or are prices that much lower in Ohio?
Its a bit of both honestly. Chrono trigger is $210 on pricecharting, but sells up to $250 pretty often. It is usually also an instant sale at my store, so even if we only make $30-50, its worth it to have it.
I'm curious to know where you got the box protector for the Maximum Carnage game? It is definitely a non standard size, and I can't imagine any company making them specifically for the game. I have a lot of guncon big boxes, dance pad bundles and other weird ps1 game boxes and have yet to find a box for them. The R4 controller bundle for ps1 is pretty common, amd those guncon games, so I was surprised you had a case for such a rare game bundle.
@@SicCooperOfficial Woohoo! I HIGHLY recommend checking out Gameplay Unlimited in Delaware Ohio, as well as Marysville Ohio. Great owners! Rock em sock em retro is also a great store in NW Ohio :)
Is there a website you can go to to see how many copies of a specific game was sold? For example I know Cody is trying to collect every copy of Wall Street kid. Is there a place you can go to to find out how many copies are out there?
Love the video but the spinning to show everything was making me feel nauseous. Maybe spin a little bit slower? It’s hard to see what you’re lookin at when it’s a blur
I can't believe that employee was so dumb in letting you have any discount at all. Doesn't matter how much is being bought. The prices are the prices. Did you say 50% off on some stuff? No wonder the owner went mental. I would've pulled him in to the office and sacked him or said its coming out of his wage. What an idiot. I plan to run my own video game store in the future and I will, depending on success, have a couple of employees. If one of them had done that, well it curtains for them. Coop. If one of you staff your staff had said, I've lost us money on products by selling them cheaper you wouldn't be happier earlier. If people came into my store and started asking for discount, I would tell them to get lost in the nicest possible manner. You can buy, trade, etc. This a retail store, no a place to barter to a cheaper price. Sole trader, Ltd company. Doesn't matter. Just no. Go to ebay or facebook if want to do that. At the end of the day, we all want deals and things cheaper but at the end of the day if you want something either buy it because truly want it, not because its convenient or just dont buy it at all.
You're free to run your store however you see fit, but if you think your way is best, and you aren't willing to continue learning, adapting, and evolving, then you will fail. I would never do deals like that in my store, because that wouldn't work for my particular business, but I would never assume that because someone else doesn't run their store the same way I do, that they are idiots. Everyone just has a different ways of doing things.
@@SicCooperOfficial I fully understand that. And I was wrong to call him an idiot, so I apologize for that, but I just find it a little strange he didn't at least consult the owner first. I've been in retailing for just over 20 years, including assistant and sales managers in the past. I've always been a sensible, diplomatic and understanding, firm but fair person. I mean, like anyone I'm not perfect and have made my fair share of mistakes but that is how you learn how to be better at anything. If he thought what was doing was okay, then that is up to him. I have owned only ever sacked one person and that was simply because in 10 days of working for me, she turned up late twice, phoned in sick, and and when I was on a day off and she came to work wearing bright red Nike trainers with neon tick on the side which was not uniform policy, sat down on the floor in front of the ribbons when supposed to tidying my Arts + Crafts department and had her phone on the shop floor and had her headphones in listen to music, was walking across the shop floor eating and ignored another supervisor who was helping run the store and said she had finished tidying the department, and had nowhere near finished it. And even, one time when I asked to tidy a certain area as my other member of staff wanted to talk to me as she was being followed and talked to when she to do her work by the new girl. After our conversation, she snuck round to the aisle behind where my staff member and I had been talking and listening in to our conversation. On top of that, she was suspected of stealing money off the staff room table that belong to another member of staff according to other management. And apologises, I ramble sometimes.
The difference with how you both piled your stuff to show it off is hilarious
Love Ohio culture. Seems like they just appreciate games and music a whole lot more over there.

This is one of the coolest hunting videos I’ve seen in quite some time. Great job, Coop.
My favourite series on UA-cam.

Depends on where in Ohio. I'm in eastern Ohio, and it's horrible hunting. I have to drive to big cities.

That capital games place had some mice running around last time I was there. lmfao
Did you check out Catacomb Records there by GameSwap in Dayton? That's my local shop and I love digging the bins there.
We filmed at almost every stop, so I don't think so. Maybe next time!

There are some figures you can find out there for particular titles, but I don't think there is one place with all of that info
If you come back to Ohio, James games and more in Lakewood Ohio 🤙
Sic Cooper back on the hunt
budget emulators created a rift in gamers. Spend thousands of dollars for unique cartridges... or play EVERY vintage game for 60 bucks

I was woundering if anyone heard of the nes collectors or collectors have or seen a copy of spirit catcher 93 on NES
