    I think that video he was talking about around 12:47 is from Mike Glover on Field Craft Survival. Mike had some other former Spec-ops people with him discussing different styles that they learned from different branches/units. I remember the way he broke his approach down and briefly turns towards the hallway.

    • @davidschorn5870
      @davidschorn5870 11 місяців тому +1

      Yes, its from Mike's video "Green Beret teaches Navy SEALs 1-Man CQB". As far as I understood him, this technique is meant for running towards a known crisis point when you pass thresholds where it's unlikely to encounter another opponent. He said he often saw LEOs not directing their muzzle towards the thresholds at all, only clearing with their eyes, and that his technique is a safer way but also fast and suitable for tight spaces. The guys from GBRS went along with it, so I hope it's legit.

      @@davidschorn5870 yep, that was the video. I would trust Mike with his training, given his career experience. Id love to take a class of his some day.
      Love to hear Frogman Tactical share his thoughts.

      I hope this becomes a learning experience for both of them. They should’ve watched the video prior to criticism. Mike Glover admittedly says, in his video, that the said technique was a navy seal practice for EXTREMELY TIGHT hallways. Where the space does not allow an operator to have his rifle or it will poke through the doorway.
      He also explains that he didn’t like it until used. Furthermore, arguably the most well known contemporary seals DJ and Cole from the GBRS group were the two other men showing it on the video. Not just “some guys”

    Love these Frogman videos. So down to earth and teaches the importance of basic fundamentals and common sense. Telling these guys to not watch the garbage tactics you see on the internet is Golden!! Because at the end of the day it is your life on the line. You can tell the guys who have never been shot at apart from the ones who have. And it shows!! Great video Frogman! keep em coming brother!

    Great content. Most CQB videos typically give a few pointers on "how" to perform a TTP. Very few provide an explanation or "why" it is used. Breaking down a technique into component parts with an explanation for how the parts integrate is also very helpful. I look forward to more videos from you. By the way, your son’s movement flow is like water. Very smooth. You’ve done a job training him.

    You need to incorporate a ballistic shield the minute that you open that door a equally trained enemy will just start firing through both sides of the walls, knowing that your team is stacked about to come in

    • @Skinnymoose
      @Skinnymoose 11 місяців тому +1

      Yeah fire coming through the walls is a huge risk. I'd light them up through the wall in a heartbeat. Im no operator but in training I've noticed that as a defender it would be pretty effective in certain situations and as the aggressor it would be a bad day.

      Operation, Iraqi freedom 3,5,7 over three years in combat in Iraq as a sergeant in the 25th light infantry division 2 to 7 wolfhounds I have personally fired through walls to eliminate enemies. This is a real discretionary problem in close quarters combat training that very few people address.

      Personally I don’t know who talked about it but let me put this out there. It’s a theory. Nothing more. No scientific evidence to back up that claim. I also don’t need to watch a video to scientifically break something down and determine if it’s good or not regardless of who uses it.
      If you don’t have the ability to mentally break that down and see unless the bad guy is on top of you, your ineffectiveness is significantly higher I don’t know what to tell you.
      Tactics, even in the SEAL community change based on theory all the time. There is hard science that can be proven and then there is theory which this is 100% theoretical regardless if someone likes it.
      This is a major issue we have in the world. When the SEALs change that “method” down the road, which they will as they always do and some guy regardless of who he is jumps on the trend pushing the new “proven” method, will you jump on that nonsense too? Of course you will just like the rest of society. You believe what you are told and that is the mindset of sheep my friend. You never go out and prove or disprove what is being said. That’s scary.
      That is the truth of it all regardless if you don’t like it. Something working does not mean it’s the best or most effective regardless of who uses it.
      Years ago that method was a high ready. Before that it was the low ready yet everyone screamed those were the best ways.
      Kinda like optics. As soon a company loses a government contract they trash that company and praise the one that has the new contract. It has zero to do with quality and everything to do with budget and the person/s selling the product. 🙏

    At about 10:45 I think he was talking about the Mike Glover CQB demonstration with DJ Shipley. The demonstration was based on a crisis situation which would warrant a non-deliberate clearance of rooms enroute to the crisis. Not really "some guys on Instagram" if that's who he was talking about.

    This is what I think he was referring to. I'm just a civilian, but from the research I've done on CQB and conversations with vets in my family, it seems pretty practical. I recommend checking it out.

    The constantly going back and forth between safety on/off is annoying. I get why its done in training yet a real "Shits Kickin" moment that isnt happening. Gun stays ready as long as were in the fight/zone.
