This is my first Mike Ritland podcast and certainly not my last. Thank you both for such outstanding service to our country! I can attest to Clark's characterization of what it is to be a police officer. I retired after 24 years of service. It certainly is nothing like the teams but it is every bit as complex and difficult as Clark has stated. Most Americans have no clue and are so quick to judge the men and women in blue. Thanks to you both for an outstanding interview!

Mike is great. He has no interest in puffing himself up with any ego bullshit. He just puts the guest in the spotlight, asks really good questions, then sits back and lets the guest talk. He’s a really good interviewer.

So far, this has been my favorite episode! Clark is one cool dude all the way. As a military/law enforcement guy, I completely appreciate all the things he said, especially about his police work. The things we go through and having to make that quick adjustment from cop to husband/dad in just a few minutes, then right back again a few hours later is something most people don't take into consideration, and that most cops see as just part of life. Thank you a thousand times over for everything, Clark, and to you Mike. On a side note, because of your episodes, I have bought Jay Dobyns book and also Nick Irving's first book!

So lovely to hear a badass who respects and fears his mum ... still. Man, coming from a proud military and LE family (but a civilian myself who gets to work with those warriors), I really appreciate the love that gets thrown to those 2 branches of service on this channel! I especially am grateful for how these gentlemen suss out the differences between the two. LEOs are up close and personal the only thing that stands between "them" and "us" and Clark said it perfectly: they don't get to have a buffer (of time and distance) between work and home, so it's a different animal from the military that way. Also, cortisol levels for military warriors are concentrated during deployments; LEOs are *always* needing to be hypervigilant every single working hour, and have to (in a split second) make judgment calls that require a laser (but not linear) focus as our military warriors do. Mike I hope that you realize the service that you're providing with this platform to help educate about the unique struggles of these two populations. I've mad respect for you for that, and I hope that your folks are super proud of the son they raised. Thank you so much!

I remember watching this before...laughed harder this time. Clark is truly a humble operator..

Awesome interview. As a police officer having a rough week, I really appreciated Clark bringing our perspective and experiences to light

Dude, I’m laughing that you can chew and drink a beer at the same time. An outstanding skill.

This interview was awesome. I laughed so hard and it felt like I was back in the navy just talking shit and having fun. Good times. Keep up the amazing work

This is a great podcast. You can tell these dudes are buds. Mike's energy was just a notch higher for this. I think a part two would be great

I listen to talk and news radio exclusively. Without a doubt, Mike is the best interviewer around.
He is patient, asks great questions. He allows his guest to form a thought, finish it and then redirects them on the course of thought.
He remembers that he has listeners who are very interested, but also civilian assholes.
My hat is off to you Mike.

Clark's episode is my favorite of the Mike Drop podcast series. His openness, honesty, empathy and sense of humor makes him the kind of person I'd want to hang with either in the field or in the bar...lol. I bet someone could make a successful series of movies of his exploits, with him as himself. Hell.. I'd watch a cable series of him touring the ins/out of Thailand... the bars, the "other" places and the places away from town.
