  • This episode I welcome a former SEAL training classmate who I’ve not seen in over a decade, Clark Impastato. He has run the full gambit from Navy SEAL, overseas security contractor, and undercover cop/ patrol cop with Phoenix PD fighting human trafficking, drug trafficking, cartels and much more. We delve into the journey that many of us veterans face when getting out of the military and trying find our way with our unique set of skills. There’s no shortage of jokes and ridiculousness with us catching up after all this time.
You can follow Clark on Instagram- @frogman2155

No quality control needed here. This conversation between 2 men gets down and dirty in the trenches, and comes up with a wealth of knowledge without taking a breath. Can’t miss this one or any other pod casts with Mike. Awesomeness as abnormal.

Just spent my Friday night watching this podcast. I've been watching one of these every day since they appeared in my suggestions about a week ago. I'm sharing them with a couple thousand friends as I go.

Great interview. And thank you both for your service!

This is my first Mike Ritland podcast and certainly not my last. Thank you both for such outstanding service to our country! I can attest to Clark's characterization of what it is to be a police officer. I retired after 24 years of service. It certainly is nothing like the teams but it is every bit as complex and difficult as Clark has stated. Most Americans have no clue and are so quick to judge the men and women in blue. Thanks to you both for an outstanding interview!

Mike is great. He has no interest in puffing himself up with any ego bullshit. He just puts the guest in the spotlight, asks really good questions, then sits back and lets the guest talk. He’s a really good interviewer.

So far, this has been my favorite episode! Clark is one cool dude all the way. As a military/law enforcement guy, I completely appreciate all the things he said, especially about his police work. The things we go through and having to make that quick adjustment from cop to husband/dad in just a few minutes, then right back again a few hours later is something most people don't take into consideration, and that most cops see as just part of life. Thank you a thousand times over for everything, Clark, and to you Mike. On a side note, because of your episodes, I have bought Jay Dobyns book and also Nick Irving's first book!

So lovely to hear a badass who respects and fears his mum ... still. Man, coming from a proud military and LE family (but a civilian myself who gets to work with those warriors), I really appreciate the love that gets thrown to those 2 branches of service on this channel! I especially am grateful for how these gentlemen suss out the differences between the two. LEOs are up close and personal the only thing that stands between "them" and "us" and Clark said it perfectly: they don't get to have a buffer (of time and distance) between work and home, so it's a different animal from the military that way. Also, cortisol levels for military warriors are concentrated during deployments; LEOs are *always* needing to be hypervigilant every single working hour, and have to (in a split second) make judgment calls that require a laser (but not linear) focus as our military warriors do. Mike I hope that you realize the service that you're providing with this platform to help educate about the unique struggles of these two populations. I've mad respect for you for that, and I hope that your folks are super proud of the son they raised. Thank you so much!

Mike, I had never listened to a Podcast before yours...I flipped it on this morning while in a bus full of teenagers on their field trip to DC....with headphones to protect their innocence of course. As a significant other to a law enforcement officer, this was close to home and nailed it on the head. Totally put words into something that LEOs can't always explain when they walk in the door after a long shift. My LEO is a certified decoy, CIRT member, and working on plans for a small business of our own in the future of the dog world. You are bad ass and I love your podcasts...especially when blocking out 50 8th graders on a 4hr bus ride. 😆

Right on about accountability. You guys could be a major factor about bringing this attitude back into society. I don’t think your mission is over and this uTube series of videos in highly influential. You could help bring the country back into line.

My father(step); youngest of six brothers and a sister, 1940s, 1950s West Virginian boy, was my football coach and high school principal. If I got it at school, i got it again at home. By the time I got in, I was briefed.....one hard man

Clark nailed it on getting some kind of other skill before you get out. I have tried and tried to find someone who needs a TOW missle guy but nobody's hiring
