  • The parallels of character that exists in a SEAL team 6 operator and devoted father who suddenly found himself taking care of several children by himself immediately returning from combat is both incredibly inspiring and uncanny. This episode I sit down with Eddie Penney, CEO of Contingent group and former SEAL team 6 operator. He gives us amazing insight into the incredibly competent and world famous unit that has been responsible for numerous high level operations since the war on terror began. Sit back and enjoy this thrilling and inspiring wild ride of warrior lifestyle and fatherhood

    This is one of the best interviews I've ever listened to. Great insight into a very intense life discussing topics that are not easy to share and incredibly personal. Hopefully, this may deter those who want to be a SEAL just for the glory. Shit happens and unless you're ready and willing to take a ride that may end with you and or your buddies dead don't waste your time in activities you have no business in. This is a life of extreme highs and lowest lows! This podcast deserves to be listened to over and over to take everything in. INTENSE! Respect and thanks to those willingly serving and taking those risks.

    Really identified with the struggle of raising kids coming from the work environment posture and methodologies involved in warfare and intelligence: so you guys know- as a Mom- I've had the same experience when dealing as a Mom. It's not something many people understand and it was comforting hearing you guys bring it out. Contingent Group sounds like the Secret Service for Civilians and is awesome. In todays world-one mistake- even with all tools on deck-can create a victim situation. Never has it been so important to have contingency plans in place and keep the situational awareness level on high at all times. I had one question, does Contingent Group utilize K9's as well? Awesome Podcast Mike and Eddie!

    • @escapedfromnewyork
      @escapedfromnewyork 4 роки тому +5

      @The Kids Nice......I am a veteran. I have also seen more videos than I care to count. Many I wish I could have unseen.
      Did they need to be killed? Almost certainly, and lives were saved by doing so.
      However, no Christian takes joy in the taking of lives, even when they're dirtbag IS characters.
      And while it may have needed to be done, it isn't our place to talk about "deserving" anything. That is God's place alone. On the battlefield, you do what you must, but "deserving" isn't man's judgements. If you understand Christ, you'd know that none of us "deserve" anything good. It is grace through Christ that we are saved.

    Loved this interview. Thank you for getting the bad guys! Thank you for your honesty and telling your story, makes me appreciate you guys and all you do SO MUCH MORE!!! SO freaking grateful for my freedom and guys like you all, my brother, cousins, uncles, great uncles, grandpa, great grandpa who keep us free.
    I was a spoiled brat who never "got it" growing up. My grandpa (WWII 14 AD-48th Tank Battalion) never talked about his service, he passed away when I was 26 years old (I'm 49 now). After he passed, I spent YEARS researching his service. MAN... wish he would have told me... I never "got it" until after he was already gone, he and my grandma pretty much raised me and I have a hard time knowing now, what I didn't know then... I mean, I always looked up to him, but wish I KNEW just how much he did for me...fighting to keep me free... I wish I would of "got it" before he died, so I could let him know just how much he meant to me. I hope that makes sense.
    Guess what I'm trying to say is, it's so important that you guys TEACH US what you do and why you do it. Trust me, I went to school in the 1970s & 1980s and back then we didn't learn shit, so I KNOW todays kids are learning even less... THANK YOU... it means everything to me.

    What an outstanding podcast. I was especially interested in Mr. Penney's opinion of the SFOD-D guys. I would respectfully disagree with him about how any cook or engineer can just go become a Delta Force guy. I think some 80%+ of Delta are former Infantry Army Rangers who have passed Delta selection. I'm sure the rest are mostly filled by Special Forces (Green Berets), etc.

    • @michaelfireoved3375
      @michaelfireoved3375 5 років тому

      Mick Funny no, I know that Benny went to devgru from being a master at arms (navy military police) dog handler but there was a Also an army guy that was a dog handler and went to delta selection. I’ve done a time research and you don’t need to have a background in special operations to get invited to delta selection. You must have to meet the requirements.
