    Thank you! This is the EXACT way to replace this felt seal. Showing the fold along the top lip was really helpful in aligning this seal, especially at the end when it gets tight. The tip about feeding the seal along the rear housing is very important too ensuring proper fitment. 5 out of 5 stars, sir!

    I used A LOT of binder clips to hold it place & I used SOS PADS to scrub off the old adhesive that really worked! ... no scratching the enamel at all . I used Brush paint cleaner with cotton balls later on to clean up any extra adhesive that might of leaked out to clean it up

    Best instructional video I could find for this. I used clothes pegs to hold the glued felt in place.

    This shows the absolutely easiest way to open the cabinet and remove and reinsert the drum. It may be focused on replacing the drum seal. But, it highlights something many miss. And that's, making sure the drum seal does seal all the way around the drum by using a putty knife before putting the dryer back into service. Good job!

    Now this makes sense to me. Thankyou! I couldn’t understand the other videos. And the putty knife trick is so helpful. Thankyou again. I have an old Kenmore ready for another 20 years.

    Great video, very informative! Make sure you put the belt rough side up, and grooved side down touching the drum.

    Good Instructions ! Only thing, would have been great to see a close up at 9 min, the felt folding down part. I'll take my chances when I get to that point..

    Do these repair instructions also apply to a Whirlpool Elite Oasis dryer? I want to be sure before we take our dryer apart. Thanks!

    What if its not fitting snugley to when tou put the fron door back on

    • @partselect
      @partselect  2 роки тому

      Great question and the answer depends on how loose fitting yours may be. If the felt has bulged upward like a speed bump then there are tow options, replace the felt with a new one that has not over stretched or it has been done where you make a couple cuts on either side of the bump so the remaining ends would come together. Its tricky but possible. If it is fairly smooth to the front just not super snug it maybe fine. When the dryer is running the airflow thru the drum will create a suction and will have the seals gently being sucked against the front and rear bulkheads. Good luck with your repair!

    I need help . I changed the felt and rollers now the dryers not heating

    • @partselect
      @partselect  2 роки тому

      If your machine is running and not heating I would first suggest checking you power supply to the dryer. If you have circuit breakers in the house panel or pony panel near the machine it would be a good idea to switch them to off and back on. If you have fuses in your house panel I would check them or replace them and try the dryer again.

    Mine was not like this it has a 24 inch gray felt strip with plastic embedded. Then a thicker felt white about 5/8 this goes around the lower half. Mine don't have any rollers. But I don't know what part numbers and what adhesive to use.

    • @volpe1970
      @volpe1970 2 роки тому +1

      Find you model number and put it into the search function on partselect and then find the rear felt seal and it will show you the part number. It sounds like you are talking about the front felt though.

    • @onlyme8870
      @onlyme8870 2 роки тому +1

      @@volpe1970 this is an old rebuilt unit no model numbers not tags or anything and coin slot added . I just found a place that sold felt and adhesive and cut it to length and worked perfectly no bounce nice and smooth. Had to use a factory belt the drum hated the aftermarket kept jumping. So unit is back up and running. Thx for the typical advice its still practical for those who read the post and can obtain that info.

    why didn't you replace the felt in the front at the same time? isn't that like doing one side of brake pads?
