This game is so detailed it's amazing. It's highly reviewed, but compared to Skyrim and Witcher 3 isn't talked about nearly enough for how good and how much effort went into it.
@@RG32822 it’s not talked about as much because of the dumb fuck game journalists who can’t handle needing to struggle in order to achieve a goal so they review bombed the game at launch
Yeah, the reactions in KCD compared to most other RPGs are just a brilliant self-ironic jab about how ridiculous the video game standard of crouch walking to be stealthy really is - because it makes absolutely no sense in real life unless there is some cover to duck behind (or to blend in in low light conditions, so you are less visible against the sky). I liked that they actually made the stealth system a little more smart. They didn't ditch the familiar stupidity of "crouch to walk more silent", but they added the element of social stealth and had crouch actually be harmful for that if anyone sees you because it makes you stand out from the crowd like a sore thumb. If you try to e.g. pickpocket someone in broad daylight in this game, you don't crouch around, you wear inconspicuous clothes and just innocently walk up behind them.
it's not my favorite game of all time, but it's certainly the most immersive. It really accomplishes its main goal of making you FEEL like a genuine mediaeval peasant. I also suspect they purposely designed the main quest to take you to all different kinds of locations, professions, and social classes to give you a tour of mediaeval life
Small interactions like these makes the game feel alive. The NPCs are not just standing around doing nothing, they actually react to you and your actions.

These two have literally been my mains since they both came out and I cant recommend them enough, although kcd isn't for beginner because it's a little tough sometimes it's a good tough though, humbles you. The amount of hours ive got on both is insane, well, I should say days lol
This is a minor but brilliant feature or whatever it's called that other open world should implement. In real life if someone did this you'd suspect they're up to no good. So it would encourage players to only do so on unsuspecting enemies and where goods you want to steal are.
Ngl migh be the only game where its forrest are genuinely authentic, and i realized how, since when i recognice some forrest near a european castle are similar in the game
As much as I love bethesda games, especially the older ones, it's pretty cool to see a game with so many voice actors. But to be fair, Bethesda voice actors were really good at switching voices, pitches and accents, it's like they had multiple voices.

Probably the most immersive game ever. People act as they would realistically as they see you do something strange. Not everyone assumes you're just trying to pickpocket them, your actions have actual consequences, and combat is purely skill-based.
Honestly, probably the most diverse amount of reactions in a game ever
