Thanks for the upload! I changed my front air struts and damaged the threads on the axle trying to get it to break free from the rotor. I tried to chase the threads but I made it worse. Looks like I’m going to order the axle and swap it out. Looks fairly easy, thanks again for the tutorial!
Most Definitely! And sorry to hear that 😓 yes if you changed the strut by yourself you should be able to get the axle replaced as well! Good luck and let me know if you need assistance 🙌🏽
Video was helpful! Thanks! I don’t usually comment but I was gonna redo this job on my GL450 bc of the inner part wasn’t sitting flush. I’m glad you recorded that last part ! Saved me from redoing the job for no reason!!!! Thanks again 👍👍👍👍
I’m getting ready to do my tell me if you have to tighten bottom big strut bolt when wheels are touching the ground so bushing doesn’t go bad. And what is the torque spec on 36mm axle nut? Thanks
Any time you have to raise the vehicle You have to disconnect the battery if your car is equipped with Air Shock correct!!! Hope this video is helpful and would definitely appreciate a new subscriber!!
@@sunnyg2977 if you have a professional scanner you could go to hot functions and put it in transport mode / Service mode if not just disconnect the battery before you start and connect it back once it’s back on the ground!
@@RJTillRacing best thing to do is either put the air suspension in service mode with a professional scanner if not then disconnect the battery and lift the car!
I doubt it honestly the best way would be to go to any parts store and give them your vin number and they will be able to look it up for you and get you the right part

Great video, what's the torque spec of the 36mm axel nut? Is the final torque pass done with the tire on the ground with the weight of the car? Thanks
beautifully explained and great camera angle..
@@torontoonline thank you 🙌🏽🙌🏽

It’s better if you let it touch the ground before tying it completely! The torque spec I will check for you and comment it soon!
Do you have to turn off the air shock before removing the control arm or the lower arm ?

Very nice video but, How do you disable the air suspension i have a 08 model! Thanks in advance
Brilliant
hi would a 20 volt impact wrench work to remove the nut ?
It depends on the torque it has!
Do you think its the same steps for an ml 550 4 matic 2013?
@@AlejandroEscalante-y3w the steps should be very similar!
Would that be a good opportunity to drain/replace the front differential oil?
It takes about 0.8 liter, spec MB 239.72
How do you put this in service mode or turn off air suspension?

Hi, for the ML W166 350 diesel 2015, it is the same axle?
I doubt it honestly the best way would be to go to any parts store and give them your vin number and they will be able to look it up for you and get you the right part
I just did a cv replacement on my 2017 c300 and i followed your steps, but now my transmission wont switch gears any idea why and how to fix?
Check to see if the axle is fully installed to the front differential / trans and, was there any leak when you removed the old axle?
Did you use aftermarket or mercedes replacement cv axles??
I am pretty sure we used replacement OE from Nappa
Link for the part is in the description!
Great video sir! Where is your shop located?
Thank you! We are located in Indiana for more details text me on insta or TikTok 🙌🏽
I was told that you must follow the torque (Nm) to the dot??
That is correct when you are replacing the bolts with new ones
