Because she didn't use lubrication when doing the nipple part, someone from behind-the-scenes who just happened to know better jumped in to stop the scene from resuming. Because there was no lubrication on his nipple, she more than likely would have torn it off. Ouch.

Another fun fact about that scene is that Romany Malco left the room, because he couldn't stand the sight of what was going on. Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen stayed around though, laughing. It was 100% real and completely unscripted. All of Steve Carell's lines were just what he said at the time. And they were supposed to wax the entire thing, but when Steve Carell gets up at the end and says he's done, he was legitimately saying he was done with the scene and wouldn't do it anymore.

The 5th Dimension's cover of opening song "Age of Aquarius" in which they tacked on the coda of the closing song "The Flesh Failures (Let the Sunshine In)" is one of the more famous covers and likely what the ending of Virgin is thenselves directly covering.

They hired a professional waxer to do it, only to find out way, waaay too late that she lied to get the part and didn't think she would have to actually wax someone for real.

When Steve Carell goes tearing after Trish on his bike, the music playing over the scene is "Heat of the Moment" by Asia, the band whose poster was on his apartment wall. From the director's commentary the music was originally going to be "Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS, but they changed it because they felt the Asia song fit better with what Andy would've had playing in his own head while chasing after the woman of his dreams. Waxing anything is just like waxing anything else. Stings the first couple of times and then stops bothering you for the most part. I don't think trimming is necessary since the wax is grabbing all of the flattened hair and tugging it out regardless of if it's a long hair or a short hair, so either way it's going to be the same sensation.

You would want to trim it shorter so you are not grabbing a bunch of hairs on the periphery which just end up getting pulled on rather than pulled out.

Oh man, that was your most fun video I have seen so far (Must have seen about 30). Started out great "Bears, beats, Battlestar Galactica", then a strong finish with "Tidy a little bit before the maid comes". I think I laughed more this time then when I watched it alone years ago. Especially while George was cracking up at Old Faithful in the bathroom scene, ROFLOL. Also didn't remember how many famous actors there were in this.

Eight years old, at my birthday breakfast in a dinner.... I get startled by the staff singing happy birthday, I knock my milk over, and it goes everywhere.
To this day I'm still traumatized and will walk away from anyone singing happy birthday to me.

As a Southern California resident, a LOT of these location-shot places were VERY familiar. The store that they work at used to be a Circuit City on Ventura Blvd. The bookstore where he picks up the blonde (I believe that's Elizabeth Banks) is actually a very popular bookstore in Pasadena (Vromans) which has been there forever (a GREAT bookstore, btw - the owner actually helped a friend found the bookstore chain "B Dalton's" (I believe) - there are handwritten "recommendations" on the shelves from the employees who've actually read the books on like Post-Its - I've picked up quite a few amazing new books to read based on those recommendations. And it's STILL in business!)

I'm not sure if it's an abstinence movie in disguise, but I do think the main message is to always be truthful to those you love.
Every character who lies about something to their partner or prospective partner gets nothing and everyone who gets it on is telling the truth.

It shows both sides of it I think. Andy is very lonely without any human connection but the guys cheat on their girlfriend, obsess over an ex and lead an empty life of debauchery. I like that by the end it's not just Andy who changes. They stop cheating, stop obsessing over their ex and Seth at least finds a partner instead of going to horse fucking shows. It's like yeah no sex is no fun but going too far the other way leads to a different kind of emptiness.

Before he was in big movies , he did movies like , it can be done , Amigo , with Bud Spencer , its on YT , Italian movie 2nd unit director Sergio Leone
Then in 1989 Jack Palance got famous by playing villain in both Batman (Keaton , Nicholson ) and in Tango and Cash (Sylvester Stallone , Kurt Russell , buddy cop movie )
Hes one of those actors you will remember him if you see his face . Also About only one who knocked out Marlon Brando , a fellow boxer in his younger days .

There were a lot of 70's & 80's references in the movie.
At 11:30 he was watching the 2004 remake of the George Romero 1978 classic zombie movie, Dawn of the Dead.
At 24:47, Jack Palance was a famous actor. He played a lot of bad guys in films. He went on to receive the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for City Slickers (1991), starring Billy Crystal to name a few.
At 26:44, the doll he said could stay, he called Steve Austin, which was the name of the title character in the 70's series the "The Six Million Dollar Man" starring Lee Majors. It's about a test pilot that crashes and loses limbs and an eye and is given bionic prosthetics giving him strength and speed(in short he's a Cyborg). A lot of kids had "The Six Million Dollar Man doll back in the days.
At 26:03, the song that is playing is the theme song from the 80's TV show "The Greatest American Hero." Song is called "Believe it or Not" which also did well on the music charts. The TV series was about a high school teacher that is granted a suit from aliens that gives him special abilities(flight, super strength, and more.) The twist was,..he loses the instruction manual on how to operate the suit, so it's trial and error, as he tries to stop crime, after teaming up with an FBI agent who knows his secret. Yep, a lot of references in the 40 yr. Old Virgin. 👍

Now, sitting at 31, I understand his mindset of “well shit. Did I miss my chance? Is it too late?”
Haven’t completely given up on it yet, but definitely seems like I’m not far from acceptance at this point.

Casual sex is like junk food. I have some pretty terrible memories around it. Also, too much of it makes it really hard for a normal relationship.
There's a big difference between people desperately looking to have sex, and still not having any, versus people who are holding out for what they want. If you're waiting for the right person, the right relationship, then you absolutely have not missed your chance.
