You could bring all your books forward a little bit so they are flush with each other along their spines, rather than pushing them back so they make contact with the back of the bookcase. That's what I do and it looks so much cleaner! Also I like picture frames as trinkets cause you can find any size, shape, color, or design to match your taste! Maybe you could do one with a photo of your booktube besties or from meeting your fave authors.

I have an 8 month old cat and she is terrified of flies!!!! All bugs really. She can be in a dead sleep and just pop up and stare at it. Then she will come up to me or her dad and meow, well it's more like q meep sound lol, until we get up find it and kill it!!!! It's the most adorable thing!!!!

It's worth getting the top box extensions for the book cases from IKEA. They are cheap and will take the shelves up to the ceiling. I've done it on all of my billy bookcases

Looks gorgeous! I pull my books toward the front of the shelves so they're all even that way. Also, just went looking on Amazon, and they have lots of options for magnetic or adjustable screens that sound like they would be perfect for your situation! Maybe you could find some great 4x6 sized fan art for some of your fav YA and then frame them and place those on your shelves for some extra decor! I did this with my classics section and it was one of my fav additions. Just an idea for something a little different : )

@@GavinReadsItAll truly. When we didn't have air conditioning, we relied on being able to open the windows at night. I definitely would not have done that if we didn't have screens. The mosquitos would be worse than the heat. 🙃 I wonder if you could buy screen like fabric online and like... Velcro it to your window frames or something on the inside?
