19 in Tennessee you're like over the hill...who wants to marry an old lady! John cracked me up!!! Y'all are so cute. I love how y'all interact with each other....my husband and I were 18 when we got married. We met and were in engaged a month later...married 5 months later....48 years now.
I was 17 and my husband 21 and 39 years later, we’re still together! Such a sweet story!! I love you all!
Johns personality never was able to come out across on the family show so I think it made you guys seem standoffish. It’s so nice to see his personality and that you guys are just a normal couple.

Beautiful story! I was 17 when my husband was 21 and had just returned from Viet Nam, so I felt the same way as Alyssa. My proposal was in a letter and the wedding was 8-22-70, so in 9 days it will be 51 years! We have 3 children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Time does fly and enjoy it while you are young and healthy. My husband has a lot of medical problems due to exposure to agent orange in Viet Nam. We are now retired, but it is difficult to go anywhere because he uses a walker and has braces on his legs. Take time NOW! Your story is beautiful! Yes time flies! I love this video! Soooo sweet! I met my hubs at BJU….. He went to Army before college… He was 24 and I was 19 when we got married, almost 55 years ago! 6 kids, 14 grandkids, and 2 great-grandkids ( so far!) and I love him now more than ever! All glory to God!

I met my husband when I was 17 and he was 31. He is almost 15 years older than me and we celebrate our 37th anniversary later this year. Neither one had been married before or had kids. We have grandchildren now.

My husband is 7 years older. I was 21 when met, fell in love and started our family. That was 24 1/2 yrs ago. I'm thankful that he's older, he was mature stable and independent. It helped me become those things. I love getting to know you're family. Your an inspiration to young couples and families.

My hubby is 8 years older than me. We have been married 43 years and I know we defied the odds by staying married. When we told his mother we were getting married, her response was “what??? It will never last”. I tell my hubby on our anniversary every year, happy anniversary and your mama said it wouldn’t last.

I so admire n appreciate when ppl are honest bc it makes them relatable. So when John said he had no interest in a wedding as a 22yro straight male with ppl he didnt know that well...can understand...then explains how he was thankful ppl went to their out of town wedding was thoughtful.

Hi loved the video, would be awesome if you talked a bit about how you raise your kids and the differences from your childhood and how you’ll do things when they’re older I.e courtship rules, college ect obviously it’s your right to decide what to keep private but would be so interesting to know if your going to deviate from what your teenage years were like and q and A’s are always fun. I’m four years older than my husband which it’s just a number if you’re in love with someone I don’t think the age matters! We’ve been married 30plus years two children and three grandchildren! You think you love your children wait till you have grandchildren it’s a whole another level of love. Mine are my world, my husband and I are so proud of our grandchildren!
My dad jokingly says he would have skipped kids and went to grandkids if he had known they was so great.
