The Bates family seems so much more down to earth and genuine than the Duggars. I like that Gill isn’t afraid to give his daughters a front hug like a normal human being.

The bates must have much less strict relationship stnadards than the duggars.... Being Thant they let them be alone on the boat ride and such and they full on hugged after the proposal. I like the bats standards.... The duggars seem too harsh on that.

I agaree. I love the duggars but i think they have put to many restrictions on their children. hugging is not sex, a hug and hand holding are very innocent sweet gestures that a couple should not feel guilty about

You can tell how a guy was raised by the way they act. Just to see people respect each other is refreshing. In the world today respect and being thoughtful is forgotten. People are not like they used to be. This young man's parents should be proud of the son they raised. Where I live I see many people who are just idiots. I am being polite. If all the kids in this family are like that they have done something that is rare

I love this family they seem way more natural than the Duggars.Not that I care either way but he seemed a little too familiar. Not because of the hand holding but because he had his hand resting on her leg and was rubbing her leg too. If they hadn't had their hands all over each other before this time I don't think Erin would be so comfortable with what he was doing in this clip. Just saying.
I can't imagine what you're talking about. He seemed "too familiar"? They were already married when they filmed this; that's about as familiar as it gets! Since they are married, he can touch her wherever and whenever he wants. Are you part of the Gothard cult? Because that sounds exactly like something one of his minions would say.

It makes me sad when people say that the happiest time of their life is getting married and having kids. You have so much to do in your life and so many more things to be proud of.
Kelsey Gordon Why should that make you sad. Those are wonderful and extremely happy times in a person's life. I hate when people say things like that. I don't think that people really understand what the woman's movement was about. It was about women having the right to choose the kind of life they want. It was about not being limited or told what our place is. If a woman decides that she wants to stay home and raise a family that is her right. Every woman should get to decide her own life and not be judged by anyone.

Donna McCubbin You can't imagine what I am talking about? You don't have to imagine, I said exactly what I ment to say. Let me continue to say what I mean, so you don't have to imagine any thing, it seems you are no good at it. Like the fact you imagined I was in some kind of cult. Not that it is any of your business and how you asked about it was extremely rude and sickeningly sanctimonious of you. I would deny being in a cult but there is no point because people in cults never believe they are in a cults. They think, like you obviously would that their religion is the only true religion. I could ask the same question of you but I wouldn't do that because it's not my business, even if I was interested, which I am not, but I still wouldn't ask. I also definitely would not do it in the same way you just did.
Now onto the reason I said what I said. That clip was not exactly clear about wether they were married yet or not. For starters they were talking about and showing vision of their proposal/engagement, nothing was said about the wedding and there was no vision either. Erin had no ring of any discription on either of her hands so it was still unclear.That is basically why I thought they were only engaged. Clearly you thought you understood that they were married already. To me that fact wasn't so clear. I watched that clip on UA-cam I hadn't seen it any where else. I don't live in the US so I get no other information that you may be privy to. So if they had been married I was unaware of it .
As I said I like this family better than the Duggars. Obviously I said this long before all that has been discovered about the Duggars was discovered and is now public knowledge. Now I wouldn't even mention their despicable name. Just for the record Donna I find the afore mentioned families JB and M's PDOA's quite sickening, as I did their daughters urgency running out of the church without their minster having drawn breath after declaring them man and wife. Modesty is not only what you wear It's about your actions too.
Not a biggie, but Chad had on his wedding ring in this video.
I didn't take any notice of his hands, in many cultures including my own, men don't necessarily wear a wedding ring.
