John made this a lot of fun! I am now a great grandmother and I remember the births of all 3 of my children. Born in 1971, 1974, and 1977. The last one was the only one my husband was with me. Before 1977 they didn't allow fathers in the labor or delivery room. My first baby (I was 18 and it was an Army Hospital) I didn't even have a nurse with me when I was left in delivery room by myself and needed to push. I think the Lord sent me an angel that day to help me. My 2nd great-granddaughter, Ameilia Rose, was born on Mon. and we are going to see her today! Love your entire family and so thankful for your you tube videos!
John’s comment at the end… “like I say, we’re never out of the game…” made me laugh. John, I don’t think I’ve ever heard you say that on the show or in a vlog! 😂
Way to go, John for being right by baby's side! You are a good dad!! I had great hospital experiences because I also have heart trouble. So I think the key is finding a good hospital
I had the distinction of terrorizing a nurse doing her 1st solo delivery. At 1pm I was 5cm. I delivered at 1:09pm with her, my partner and my daughter screaming at me that it wasn't time. It being my 5th baby i just carried on and delivered myself 🤣 ...good thing since the nurse STAT paged the OB to ER instead of L&D... I do so love labor stories! Thanks for sharing all of yours! ✌💫💞🙏
You guys really were made too be Amazing parents, and Alyssa is Awesome in the delivery of the babies... 3 natural girl you were made too be a Mommy, I couldn’t imagine having one natural and you had 3.. You go girl!! John you are the Best and you are a Amazing girl Dad....
I always love hearing birth stories, they're all so different! I'm so glad you ended up at the second hospital with a doc who took the group b strep seriously. Our first daughter had serious complications from group b. The hospital screwed up and missed it and with us being first time parents we of course thought everything was good. Long story short, she got sepsis and pneumonia and was in the NICU for 2 weeks, and she got really sick it was so scary. But thankfully they caught it in time. Praise the Lord you and little Maci were all good! ❤
It's crazy how the television show made your deliveries super fast. No one really knows what takes place behind the scenes. I missed you showing Zoey's and Maci's information at the end of the video. You are definitely a super woman, Alyssa!
I listened to all 4 births and Maci's I'm just like wow! That first OB at hospital #1, he needs a super long vacation or retire or something bc it blows my mind to peices that he sent Alyssa away along with 2 to 4 other mama's that night??!! Divine intervention on sending y'all to hospital #2. I'm thinking IF you have #5 I think y'all should definitely consider that hospital that you had Maci at bc clearly they can handle whatever you need! I love you guys and you are so lucky to have all 4 happy and healthy girls!🥰🫂😊
Hi! Hope your family is doing well. The girls are absolutely adorable and I look forward to watching your videos every week❤ Both my pregnancies were rough. I had pre-eclampsia both my boys. My oldest was born at 31 weeks and weighed 2lbs 9oz and my youngest was born at 30 1/2 weeks and weighed 2lbs 15oz. Their now 17 and 10. Thankfully they've had no issues aside from being in the NICU for weeks after they were born💙💙
I vote for baby number five. Though, understandably, my vote in this doesn't count. LOL. You both seem like excellent parents and your children are all adorable. Thank you for sharing.
I agree John, en cal is neat! The cord wrapped around the neck is extremely common and luckily very rarely an issue. It happens in something like 1/3 of births. Some obs use that as an excuse for a c section though unfortunately.
Loved Johns description of cutting his daughters cord, I was blessed to cut my granddaughters umbilical cord to me it felt like cutting a rubbery hose!! This was amazing seeing the birth and cutting her cord something that will be always be a cherished memory. Thank you for sharing your birth stories. 💗
Alyssa you are amazing! And John is one special guy!I had three girls and if my labors were like yours I have to tell you I would have stopped at one.Of course while I was in labor for my first I had my husband by the throat and kept saying promise me I am never doing this again!I thought I was going to die to and when I gave birth 47 years ago there was no pain meds given. So you are one brave lady!I have nothing but admiration for you.
You are amazing Alyssa! Thanks for sharing! Love it! That is amazing birth story on Zoey that is crazy wild but a memory for sure to share with Zoey one day. I was just going to type what a Blessing the Lord led you to the right hospital the 1st one wasn't it and that was the Lord redirecting you so totally agree with you I had the same thoughts exactly! I commented on the 1st 2 birth episodes but YES girl! I know what ya mean my second one I went without an epidural 8 hrs of back and regular labor and it was soooooo intense my pain was off the charts, and they didn't even know how I was managing I was getting really worn out. So finally, at 6:30 am after doing this since 10 or 11 PM I asked for an epidural I was dilated to 6 or 7.I just said the smallest dose that you can offer to take the edge off. So that helped I am sure my pain was at a 10 with the smallest dose because before the epidural I was through the roof! They asked me where my pain was, and I said I know it's at an 8 or 10 but after what I was feeling I can say 5 0r 6 and they said wow you must have a huge pain tolerance because your contractions are 30 secs apart all night and wayyyy up there. You are rocking this. I was like wow how is this even possible, but it is, and you forget all about it. We almost considered getting pregnant when our baby was 5 months old so she would have a sibling to grow up with because all our children are a lot older. But we didn't. I felt so much better when my husband took his fist and went around and around on my lower back while I was having a contraction, and he was wiped out.
This video was so funny. Especially about Maci's birth. It reminded me of the last 20 minutes of the movie 9 months. Awesome!! So John, are you feeling a boy coming on?
Okay, story time lol I have 6 babies and with my 1st birth my husband was amazing. He was holding my hand, getting me ice chips, cooling me down with a cool cloth ect. With my 2nd baby he slept the whole time until it was time for me to push. BUT HE WAS SNORING SO LOUD THE NURSES COULD HEAR HIM DOWN THE HALLWAY 🤣 It made for a great birth story 😜
Glad everything worked out and everyone was fine. Just wondering did you report your concerns about the Dr to the first hospital. It concerns me that he might put other women in danger by not listening to their concerns.
How come you didn't go to the hospital your OBGYN was at. I'm just curious cuz usually you call your doctor and they tell you to go to the hospital and the hospital knows you're coming so i was just curious
For the next pregnancy, are you going to get an epidural since having one with Maci Jo and seeing that you don’t have to deal with all of that pain or will you choose to do another natural delivery?

It's high time for a boy now. Come on! You can do it!😜😆
Wow. Your birthing stories are exciting 😀 😄 I'm glad you all went to the other hospital too.

How was your recovery after epidural versus natural?
For the next pregnancy, are you going to get an epidural since having one with Maci Jo and seeing that you don’t have to deal with all of that pain or will you choose to do another natural delivery?
She doesn’t know if she will anymore kids after Maci
And I think she has to do hospital births going forward because of her heart issues. She’s high risk.

Alyssa, go gluten free and work on your gut health before number 5.
