I'm wondering, Savathum has the power to move worlds from one dimension to another. To fool everyone, did she move Earth and the Traveller to another dimension until they all left (a la a situation similar to Classic Loki) tricking them their target was obliterated?
I gotta say, I like how they handled Eido's reaction to her father's past. She didn't get over-emotional or turn against our cause. She's disappointed in Mithrax, but she's not short-sighted or suddenly lacking in emotional maturity.
I don't think she's mad because of the nature of her father's past since she already suspected that it wasn't all pretty. She just didn't know exactly how bad it was in his time. I think her anger has more to do with Mithrax's lack of trust more than anything, which was further exasperated by his overprotectiveness of Eido. She began to feel as if he still sees her as a defenseless hatchling he just pulled out of a pile of rubble, and the fact that their ENEMY was more cooperative to her than he was only made things worse. I'm sure they'll work things out like Drifter said, but in the meantime she has EVERY right to be mad at him.
@@mediumsurmoon6283 But Eido's reaction was much less to do with Misraaks' past itself and significantly more to do with the fact that she had to find out through Eramis, which sends the message that he thinks either Eido is unable to deal with the truth or he thinks so little of her that he didn't bother to tell her. Neither of which are necessarily true, obviously, it comes from a place of fatherly protection, but she's the scribe of House Light, her job is to record their history, good and bad and it was inevitable that she'd find out one way or another.
"The guardian is here for YOUR protection" gave me chills this both shows how much misraks wants the smoke with eramis and how we would be the only ones who could stop him if he snapped
Personally I think the third party is the Spider. Seeing the situation he's currently in. him getting his hands on one or two of the relics would put him in a position where he has some level of real immunity from Mara and gives him a new bargaining chip. As long as he doesn't get caught trying to recover it.
I was thinking Mara Sov. She is hunting for Spider so this could be a way to lure him out. Also based on the Preservation mission and her going into the the Darkness ship, she might be trying to study them more to learn how to destroy them.
I doubt it’s spider. We have his ketch and his crew mates. He can’t really do anything currently I think it’s a disciple of the witness, wanting to bring nezerac back. I think when the guardian gets the last relic, nezerac will come to life, and that is when we will learn strand. Delicate tomb lore tab I think doesn’t describe the weapon itself, but is in fact a metaphor for the guardian and fate and how nezeracs rise from the dead is inevitable…

These seasonal narratives have felt very much like us working as darkness. Like you said, we have the crown of sorrow in the helm. We’re gathering the pieces of nezarec. Season of risen we were killing lightbearers (albeit hive ones). Last year was kind of summarized by us gathering allies (Caiatal, Mithrax, Crow, Mara). This year seems like the opposite, with us gathering enemies (lightbearing hive/savathun, calus, eramis…) It feels like we’re seeing last year but in the perspective of the enemy. We really are similar to the witness in a way.
Another option for the third party could be Savathun's forces. Given that Nezarec is described as a traitor it may have been him that gave Savathun the information/means to stop the witness during the collapse. You also see what looks like moths fly out of his corpse in the cutscene when he is stabbed. Motive wise they may use the piece as a bargaining chip to force the Vanguard to release Savathun's body and allow her ghost to resurrect her.
This is a great showcase of the power of framing. Eramis framed that story as if mithrax was still the same person to turn eido against him. If mithrax had told the story he would have framed it from the perspective of someone who is remorseful and ashamed of their past, which mithrax is
That’s the thing though, Eramis is how Missraks once was. They were the same. It’s probably why she says he’s a monster, because she is. Her proof that she is in the right is actually undermined because Missraks has changed. If he can change, if he can be better, then it means she’s the one in the wrong. She needs him to be the same.
I would also take into account that Eramis may not be a trustworthy source. I'm not saying she's lying but she may not be revealing everything. Mithraaks specifically warned us how dangerous she is with words. I know I'm late to this party. Trying to catch up.
I'll tell you this much, my warlock is definitely not searching for the relics of Nezarec for any nefarious reason! He says as the warlock wears the Robes of Nezarec and the exotic Nezarec's Sin with Nezarec's Whisper in hand.
Misraaks thought he could just bury his past and focus on the future, but Eido was going to find out sooner or later. Maybe their relationship wouldn't have been shattered like this if he'd explained it to her himself, rather than letting her hear it from Eramis. It also explains why he was so determined to stay away from the relics and put down any idea of using them: he doesn't trust himself or anyone else to tamper with that power again. It reminds me of Namrask and his refusal to use weapons from the Weaver's lore book back in the Season of the Splicer.
That's a very basic trick writers use to unknowingly frustrate their audience. You have to remember: action is driven by drama, and drama at its core is conflict. If Misraakskel had spilled his guts to his daughter, things would be a lot less dramatic.

Maybe it could be Taniks or maybe it is Siviks pulling a Taniks. Though it could also possibly be the Fanatic, given how he is one of the most prominent necromancers in the Destiny Universe at the moment.

I'm almost positive the 3rd party is Mithrax's Mother, Inaaks. She was proven to be violent, dangerous, with ties to Nezarec. I feel that she has her own lore book for a reason. Also when Eramis asks who the 3rd party could be, Mithrax responds with "one of many you have wronged", which could be a reference to when Inaaks met with Eramis in the new lore book. Also Mithrax is being very cagey as if he knows who it is, which would make sense since it's his mom.
I really hope bungie tap into the intense excitement everyone has about Nezarec. He could easily be one of the best characters in this whole universe if done right.
Getting *Forbidden Memories* vibes from the Nezarec story path. A great power, split into multiple pieces and hidden under the watchful guard of several high-ranking individuals until they are defeated, the relics gathered together in one spot and scooped up by a third party who subsequently uses the relics to resurrect a great and uncontrollable power that both kills the third party and presents the player with a problem that they inevitably have to fix. The family troubles are just gonna get caught in the crossfire.
I suspect that Saint or Osiris are going to be involved in this story before it plays out. Simply because it would be weird to get Saints voice actor in to do lines if he wasn't part of this seasons story. He's something of an odd one out in the comms for this season.
I already predicted what was gunna happen but it's still amazing to see this all play out. I LOVE how dark Destiny got over the past few years. It adds more complexity to the characters we see and it shows us how dire things can get for certain characters.
It does, but at the same time, it doesn't. Before this week, if this wasn't Destiny, I would have said we're preparing for a Mithrax betrayal. Either he turns on us, or he has been secretly against us the whole time. But because it's Destiny, there is no way. Bungie is not going to have Season of the Splicer teach us that racism is bad, and then turn around and have Mithrax have actually been a bad guy. That's fine, but it does kind of kill some potential directions in which the story could go.
It's a messy situation, mithrax should've told eido but how does one tell a past that they despise. A past so horrible that they hate themselves for it. It's clear, mithrax hates himself for what he did. But I do wonder if they'll address the kell of kells prophecy.
the greatest way to attone for one's mistakes is to accept it and move past it, mithrax doesnt want to accept what he was or what the eliksni became so much so he wants to shelter eido from it, but its clear he still has some parts of who he was he still enjoy pirating, the difference now is that he does for the good of the eliksni and not for himself

Nezarec, the mythical being of Destiny's lore, had final made his debut into the game. Now I wonder if he'll play a bigger part of the story going forward. I kinda hope so. And it was sad to see Eido's reaction to the terrible things Misraaks had done in his past. I certainly got them be able to mend things by the end of the season. As for that third party trying to get the relics, the idea of Eris being that third party is interesting to say the least. However, I think a separate faction of Scorn led by Fikrul could be a possibility.
Actually, I recommend doing this week's master nightfall for champion kills. It's exodus crash which sucks BUT you just have to get to the defend the plate section, waves of barrier and overload champions will come in twos and threes. Just don't finish the plate defense and wipe it when the champions are done, the checkpoint will have you start the plate defense over.
Nah just do master ketchcrash. Lfg still up instantly and you only need 4 champion kills in master kc because each counts for 13 points. Takes less than 20 minutes and gives you a pinnacle at the end.
I just farmed yesterday's lost sector for Powerful Fallen, Champions, and any missing exotic chest pieces. Knocked out a bunch of future grinding because I was to lazy to do it before.
The biggest thing this should tell you or make you realize, is just how powerful Nazarek truly is. The power that a single part of his body gives one is incredible. Imagine if he was fully regenerated.
What if the 3rd party is a cloud strider and/or Elsie Bray? They made a point of saying whoever the third party is, was as deadly and efficient as the guardian. We don’t know where Elsie is but with the new lore about the her fish it’s only a hop skip and a jump away.
Ooh. There is definitely a cloudstrider out and about too. The handprint Elsie found at the place they found the quicksilver was from a cloudstrider. Since it was large enough to belong to a cabal but had five fingers.
I think it's possibly two-fold for Mithrax. He doesn't want to protect his daughter just in the parental sense, he probably also wants to bask his daughter in the Light unlike himself who was basked in the Dark. Possibly the Eliksini's version of Light and Dark Guardians of "today" compared to the past, where Mithrax still sees the world as Light vs Dark where Eido may see the world as Light and Dark.
Is Siviks dead? The Fallen are not strangers to coming back in new forms (looking at you Taniks and Sepiks). I wouldn't be surprised if he was somehow giving the Taniks treatment and turned into a machine. Otherwise, I think Eris Morn might be the culprit. The only thing is I don't remember if there was Stasis energy lingering in the mission from last week as she only has Stasis. I was also thinking, what if this is Eris' corruption that was supposed to happen according to Elsie?
I think it's fair to say that Siviks is dead-dead. Taniks has always been unique and was more machine than fallen before we met him. Eris being corrupted seems unlikely since in previous timelines it only happened because Elsie refused to teach people how to use Stasis safely
While Eris might have some interest, I think she'd rather work directly with us rather than going about it her own way (though she does happen do go about her own way on many occasions). I think it's more like that Rakis, the Spider, whose clearly shown he has interest in obtaining and using the relics for himself is the more likely culprit. He was sounding rather suspicious in last week's Pirate Lord hunt, especially since he's the one who poses the idea of another crew in the first place.

Regarding the relationship between Eido and Misraaks, I’m reminded of a quote from a Star Wars book. “The only problem with growing up in someone’s shadow is that when you grow beyond it, everyone but the person casting the shadow can see how much you have changed.”
Is it possible that the 3rd party is the Queen? I could see her knowing of the Spider's escape to the Last City. Not to mention that the Queen has also previously worked against The Guardian to a minor extent in order to aid her people.

I think one of the pieces of lore you can read in game states that Mara Sov was informed that Spider is in the Last City, and that she has decided that war with the guardians isn't _quite_ worth is yet.
I'm of the mind that the third party is the Lucent Brood. Imaru may be trying to find these relics first, not to use them or contain them, but to destroy them. He knows what that kind of power can do and how dangerous they can be, especially if they're connected to one of the Witness's Disciples like Rhulk and (in this case) Nezarec. Considering the Lucent Hive are now very much against the Darkness and the Witness, they will do whatever it takes to find and destroy these relics, even if it means sending Hive Guardians to massacre Eramis's forces and our own. At this point, I would be very much surprised if it turns out it wasn't them at all.
My guess is that the Third Party is Fikrul still. I find it odd that we didn't scan for Dark Either, to confirm or deny such an obvious choice during the mission but I think it checks out. Eramis still has loyalty to the Eliksni people as a whole, if she saw the opportunity to turn on the Witness, keep the power for herself, and provide a haven for the Eliksni, she would. She's not fighting for the Witness, she's fighting for her people and to find a way to save herself and them from the war that she can see coming. So sending in the Scorn/Fikrul would make sense as an insurance policy on the Witnesses part, though the theory starts to fall apart since they didn't actually take the relic and it still ended up in our hands by the end. That's where I fall back to your idea of Eris or maybe even Elsie doing their own thing behind the scenes.
Wait... That doesn't ... In that one hideout i could swear they left a bunch of Eliksni bodies behind. A side benefit of Fikrul being involved is snatching up bodies to raise more scorn.
I think the mysterious 3rd party after the relics might be Mithrax' old crew. Unless it turns out he "dealt away" with them in order to abandon that old life, I find it hard to believe they would have all been on board with giving up their search for loot and power like Mithrax was
I had no idea those two Eliksni at the start of the cutscene by Mithrax’s mum was Spider and Siviks. I honestly thought they would have been more around Mithrax’s age, but they look around Eido’s age. Also, I think the Third Party might be someone of the Lucent Brood, maybe Immaru or a new character. There was a Lightbearer Wizard seen during SOP’s reveal.

I loved the fact that we actually got to meet eramis without fighting, it makes her a lot easier to empathise with her, you can kind of tell that she isn't brainwashed by the witness, or even all that corrupted, it seems like she genuinely does wish for the freedom of her people she just can't see that the way isn't through the dark and following the witness. There could be a chance to save her from herself, rather than going back to the standard pattern of killing our enemies outright. Now that I think about it, I predict eramis will board the helm once we collect all the relics, however nezarec himself will be resurrected at that point and go off with the witness basically abandoning eramis who has fulfilled her purpose. Either way I really don't see her siding with the force that destroyed her homeworld in order to take revenge on the force that diddnt save them. Its all a means to an end.
That's the insidious thing about the Witness, he doesn't necessarily corrupt _you_ as much as poisons your desires and the way you achieve them. Eramis genuinely does want prosperity and unification for the Eliksni but because the Witness manipulated her trauma regarding the Whirlwind and the Traveler's perceived abandonment she's stuck in an old mindset.
Ikora is noted as whispering "where are you" to the nezeracs whisper glaive, we know she's unreasonably strong. Perhaps she has some unknown connection to nezzy and she or her hidden are working to try and get him back or at least prevent erimis's people from getting it.
I expected the truth to come out but damn mithrax was the dark kell before eramis and eidos reaction hurt yeah mithrax kept his secret but I understand it not saying eido can’t be mad she can but damn it hurt
I would've guessed the 3rd party was perhaps Immaru, but then I would've expected them to succeed. Would be interested to know how exactly the relics actually give power/manifest their power.
The most logical in my opinion would be some form of hive. For if the reviving other hive is the same for the disciples. They could return it and appease the witness. Overall, I believe the witness is finding more players in his army to secure we die.
The odd thing is whatever or whoever did this suffered no losses or took their dead with them? There are only dead fallen no other signs of anyone else.
I like how you can see both Spider and his Brother serving on Missraak's crew in the flashback cutscene. While i don't doubt the pair with their back to the screen are them, what with their build, it's a lot more obvious they're the pair kicking other eliksni off a plank into the void of space. the unique helmets give it away
Anyone else think Spider sent his remaining associates to collect the fourth relic? He straight up says to Mithrax after that they should take the relics for themselves...
Interesting about the whispers, I need to listen to those in the Helm Highly suggest to me that the relics were whispering to their keepers (ie: the finger whispering to Misraaks), very well with similar or more influence than Riven had over Uldren
I'm sorry what rogue guardians. At this point a sizeable part of vanguard forces are using stasis, not to mention the young Wolf him/herself. Dredge cult is all but gone. No point to them anymore.
The witness can use eramis to get the relics if he want to. And callus must probably be preparing his forces for the invasion of Neptune, i don’t think he would have time to go treasure hunting.
I really enjoy your videos it's nice to have something that I'm interested in be talked about so I can listen to it while I walk my dog. A lot of times I have a hard time comprehending stuff but for some reason when I listen to you talk about it in depth it makes a lot more sense and helps me understand it

Tip for anyone stressed about those 50 Champion kills: It seems like a lot, but it states you get bonus progress on Master Ketchcrash; so much so that I completed all "50" kills about halfway through my first run.
About the corrupting power of the relics. From what I understand the tombs contain their dark power, so if the drifter didn't open it I don't think he could have been influenced
I'm thinking it might be the lucent hive. Savathun would likely have known more about Nezerac than us, and could reasonably have set up some contingencies in case the witness treid to resurrect him.
I actually love how they specifically referenced that lore tab in an earlier week, with Drifter saying he "might know something" about the relics. Its cool to see even that one line in a lorebook is still remembered.
I'm betting The Drifter hasn't been heavily corrupted by the Relic he possesses is because of the Nine and their interest in him. Either that, or his corruption manifests as him being hungry all the time, which explains why he's ready and willing to eat basically anything/anyone- he's a cannibal. As for the Third Party- I'm betting it's Spider. He's playing both sides to get his hands on all the relics himself, and gain the power he saw when he was a young warrior. He seemed REALLY keen on using the relics earlier this season, and when Mithrax shot the idea down, that's when this Third Party popped up.
The part of the illustrated cutscene that really guts me is that Misraaks literally kicked out Rakis and Siviks and left them to die. The reason that Spider and Siviks both ended up they way they did could absolutely 100% be the fault of Misraaks. A lot, and I mean a LOT, of the way things have played out in Destiny 2 now fall squarely on Misraaks's shoulders. I can understand why he would feel immense shame.
Like, it's not just random crew members being kicked out of the Ketch. Behind the ones falling off of the gangplank are Siviks and Rakis...behind them is a Captain with his leg raised in a ready-to-kick position...and behind them all is Misraaks. It happened right then and there.
The eliksni have been my favourite enemy race since day one of D1, they feel like coyotes being adaptable and always surviving no matter the cost. Plus the space pirate vibe and aesthetic is nice
My immediate question on the 3rd party is if somehow the shin malfur or the dredgens are the third party, they are known to seek after darkness artifacts in order to protect others and understand them better, probably not but it would be cool for their storyline to get weaved back in.
I think the dichotomy between Light and Dark, especially as of late, has been fascinating. The Darkness/Witness whispers and even speaks directly to certain people ie. us, Eramis and Oryx. On the other hand, the Traveler communicates through visions (at least thus far). We’ve seen the visions as well as Crow. Many characters specifically state that they can’t hear the Traveler including the Speaker, Zavala and even Savathun in her resurrection cutscene in Witch Queen. Not sure if there’s anything more to this other than theming but it could be something worth noting as we close out the Light vs. Dark saga.
Little bit of theory here. The 3rd party seeking the Relics of Nezarec is either one of the Cloudstriders with a purpose we may find out about later OR it is the Spider with another hired crew. I think he implies it during the Beastmaster pirate hunt when he mentions other crews. It would fit considering his history with Misraks and how he was humiliated in front of everyone twice now in the Either Tank.
I find it really cool how comparable Miisraks' and Savathun's stories are. Both gained power from the dark, both lied and stole for the sake of power and continued existence, both turned to the light as a supplicant.
I think the 3rd party is the Hive, either Xivu Arath or the Lucent Brood. They are a superior force, and story wise they wouldn't have been able to get to the Beast Master cause the route to him was too small. Also, the Hive should know about Nezarec and the Relics.
Third Party Supposition Immaru and the Lucent Hive? Granted we don’t have the leftover void blasts like we saw at the beginning of the WQ campaign, but could be interesting to see them use that as a means to bring Savathûn back in to play. Another thought would be Lysander and their faction.

I like how the "3 best friends" were like *the good, the bad, and the ugly* misracks being the good, siviks being the bad, and spider being the ugly. (Or him being the neutral for his case)
This is where I wished Bungie made the option to let us talk to Misraaks and let us help him mend the now open rift between him and Eido. An option to tell him that he needs to stop ignoring the past, but to also cease treating Eido as that hatchling he discovered all that time ago and lead and guide her as her own individual. Edit: As for that unknown party that murdered the crew of the Beast Master, knowing now that the pieces are of that Nezarec, a possibly dead disciple of the Witness. For me, it is safe to assume that Calus being that third party, since he is now a disciple for the Witness, and on the missing where you get Haunted's Exotic sparrow, he projected a image of himself in the HELM to tell you the message. Which I interpret that Calus now knows of the HELM's location thanks to the spread of the Egregor spores, meaning that we are making the HELM a more valuable target every time we place a relic there for study, both for Eramis and the Witness.
In regards to the third party hunting the relics I believe it’s the drifter since the beginning he said he would do some investigating of his own on the relics.
Theory, if Eris DOES have ulterior motive, than maybe it’s possible that in the other timelines that either Eris was corrupted by the tombs or she got possessed by Nezarec
Drifter pretty much mirrors my reaction to Mith's past. "So what? We've all done things we regret. What matters is the here and now". That also reminds me of Party Snax's famous line: "Which is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" I've never seen a better case of this than Misraaks.
On the topic of eris possibly helping us by clearing the way for us to collect the relics of nezarec it's very plausible that she could want to have them bound together in order to study either the remains of nezarec to better understand the witness and the nature of the darkness or possibly bring nezarec back as sort of a double agent using the power of the crown of sorrow so that we and eris can develop a better strategy to fight the the witness and also stay one step ahead. Eris already has the necessary means to adjust the spell that savathun used originally on the crown so why not put it to use for the benefit of the last city and its allies.
For those working through the 50 champions: 1. Expedition 2. Maintain 80-90% fill rate on the treasure hoard. 3. Get 2 champions (ruffian/saboteur) per stopping point. 4. Once 2 champions killed, fill remaining 10% and move on. works great, get up to 6 champions per round, took me and my buddies less than an hour to complete.
I absolutely loved how Misraaks said Eramis is just as skilled with her words as with a sword and then she proceeded to give us a bangin story cutscene that paints him in quite a terrible light
While I was playing the role of Lord Alexios (my Titan that created before) at the Parley, I made it to where he had his hand cannon pointed at Eramis because he was expecting there to be a surprise as he didn't trust her like Misraaks did.
Just throwing this out there: I get the feeling Mithrax is currently a strand user, because of the relic, or will become one. The idea that he will embrace his past and overcome the relics corruption makes sense given his story. Also the idea of a gentle weaver getting the power of strand, makes some sense.
Calus is still “”Alive””, Third Party might be him and any Shadows he has. It might be as crazy as it seems, cloudstriders. Nezerac might know something about Neomuna. Those are my two big ideas.
I had a theory that the other party could have been Immaru and the rest of the lightbearing hive. He's one of the only other characters who would have any knowledge of the relics and what they could do and would seek them out as bargaining chips to get Savathun back.
Calaus makes a degree of sense. He is working for the witness. And bringing another disciple back into the mix would be a good play for the forces of the witness
While Savathun tricked every other pyramid and disciple to leave after the collapse, Nezarec forgot to set his alarm and overslept the whole thing

I don't think she's mad because of the nature of her father's past since she already suspected that it wasn't all pretty. She just didn't know exactly how bad it was in his time. I think her anger has more to do with Mithrax's lack of trust more than anything, which was further exasperated by his overprotectiveness of Eido. She began to feel as if he still sees her as a defenseless hatchling he just pulled out of a pile of rubble, and the fact that their ENEMY was more cooperative to her than he was only made things worse.
I'm sure they'll work things out like Drifter said, but in the meantime she has EVERY right to be mad at him.
@@mediumsurmoon6283 But Eido's reaction was much less to do with Misraaks' past itself and significantly more to do with the fact that she had to find out through Eramis, which sends the message that he thinks either Eido is unable to deal with the truth or he thinks so little of her that he didn't bother to tell her. Neither of which are necessarily true, obviously, it comes from a place of fatherly protection, but she's the scribe of House Light, her job is to record their history, good and bad and it was inevitable that she'd find out one way or another.

Personally I think the third party is the Spider. Seeing the situation he's currently in. him getting his hands on one or two of the relics would put him in a position where he has some level of real immunity from Mara and gives him a new bargaining chip. As long as he doesn't get caught trying to recover it.

These seasonal narratives have felt very much like us working as darkness. Like you said, we have the crown of sorrow in the helm. We’re gathering the pieces of nezarec. Season of risen we were killing lightbearers (albeit hive ones).
Last year was kind of summarized by us gathering allies (Caiatal, Mithrax, Crow, Mara). This year seems like the opposite, with us gathering enemies (lightbearing hive/savathun, calus, eramis…)
It feels like we’re seeing last year but in the perspective of the enemy. We really are similar to the witness in a way.

So, to throw it out there: Eris might be using the Crown of Sorrow and Nezarec's remains to communicate with the long dead Servant.
Another option for the third party could be Savathun's forces. Given that Nezarec is described as a traitor it may have been him that gave Savathun the information/means to stop the witness during the collapse. You also see what looks like moths fly out of his corpse in the cutscene when he is stabbed. Motive wise they may use the piece as a bargaining chip to force the Vanguard to release Savathun's body and allow her ghost to resurrect her.

This is a great showcase of the power of framing. Eramis framed that story as if mithrax was still the same person to turn eido against him. If mithrax had told the story he would have framed it from the perspective of someone who is remorseful and ashamed of their past, which mithrax is
That’s the thing though, Eramis is how Missraks once was. They were the same. It’s probably why she says he’s a monster, because she is. Her proof that she is in the right is actually undermined because Missraks has changed. If he can change, if he can be better, then it means she’s the one in the wrong. She needs him to be the same.
I would also take into account that Eramis may not be a trustworthy source. I'm not saying she's lying but she may not be revealing everything. Mithraaks specifically warned us how dangerous she is with words. I know I'm late to this party. Trying to catch up.
I'll tell you this much, my warlock is definitely not searching for the relics of Nezarec for any nefarious reason! He says as the warlock wears the Robes of Nezarec and the exotic Nezarec's Sin with Nezarec's Whisper in hand.

Misraaks thought he could just bury his past and focus on the future, but Eido was going to find out sooner or later. Maybe their relationship wouldn't have been shattered like this if he'd explained it to her himself, rather than letting her hear it from Eramis. It also explains why he was so determined to stay away from the relics and put down any idea of using them: he doesn't trust himself or anyone else to tamper with that power again. It reminds me of Namrask and his refusal to use weapons from the Weaver's lore book back in the Season of the Splicer.
That's a very basic trick writers use to unknowingly frustrate their audience. You have to remember: action is driven by drama, and drama at its core is conflict. If Misraakskel had spilled his guts to his daughter, things would be a lot less dramatic.

I'm almost positive the 3rd party is Mithrax's Mother, Inaaks. She was proven to be violent, dangerous, with ties to Nezarec. I feel that she has her own lore book for a reason. Also when Eramis asks who the 3rd party could be, Mithrax responds with "one of many you have wronged", which could be a reference to when Inaaks met with Eramis in the new lore book.
Also Mithrax is being very cagey as if he knows who it is, which would make sense since it's his mom.

I really hope bungie tap into the intense excitement everyone has about Nezarec. He could easily be one of the best characters in this whole universe if done right.
Getting *Forbidden Memories* vibes from the Nezarec story path. A great power, split into multiple pieces and hidden under the watchful guard of several high-ranking individuals until they are defeated, the relics gathered together in one spot and scooped up by a third party who subsequently uses the relics to resurrect a great and uncontrollable power that both kills the third party and presents the player with a problem that they inevitably have to fix. The family troubles are just gonna get caught in the crossfire.
So the Mummy, basically.
I suspect that Saint or Osiris are going to be involved in this story before it plays out. Simply because it would be weird to get Saints voice actor in to do lines if he wasn't part of this seasons story. He's something of an odd one out in the comms for this season.
I already predicted what was gunna happen but it's still amazing to see this all play out. I LOVE how dark Destiny got over the past few years. It adds more complexity to the characters we see and it shows us how dire things can get for certain characters.
It does, but at the same time, it doesn't. Before this week, if this wasn't Destiny, I would have said we're preparing for a Mithrax betrayal. Either he turns on us, or he has been secretly against us the whole time. But because it's Destiny, there is no way. Bungie is not going to have Season of the Splicer teach us that racism is bad, and then turn around and have Mithrax have actually been a bad guy. That's fine, but it does kind of kill some potential directions in which the story could go.
I feel like destiny has always been dark but the narrative was never good enough for people to ever see that side of the game's story.

It's a messy situation, mithrax should've told eido but how does one tell a past that they despise. A past so horrible that they hate themselves for it. It's clear, mithrax hates himself for what he did. But I do wonder if they'll address the kell of kells prophecy.

Nezarec, the mythical being of Destiny's lore, had final made his debut into the game. Now I wonder if he'll play a bigger part of the story going forward. I kinda hope so.
And it was sad to see Eido's reaction to the terrible things Misraaks had done in his past. I certainly got them be able to mend things by the end of the season.
As for that third party trying to get the relics, the idea of Eris being that third party is interesting to say the least. However, I think a separate faction of Scorn led by Fikrul could be a possibility.
Having Nezerac on our side would be a great way to explain lore or The Witness and the disciples since Savathun never was one he'd know more
Actually, I recommend doing this week's master nightfall for champion kills. It's exodus crash which sucks BUT you just have to get to the defend the plate section, waves of barrier and overload champions will come in twos and threes. Just don't finish the plate defense and wipe it when the champions are done, the checkpoint will have you start the plate defense over.

I absolutely love the use of House of Wolves and Beyond Light music this week (plus the touch of a First Disciple motif when Nezarec shows up)
I think it's possibly two-fold for Mithrax. He doesn't want to protect his daughter just in the parental sense, he probably also wants to bask his daughter in the Light unlike himself who was basked in the Dark. Possibly the Eliksini's version of Light and Dark Guardians of "today" compared to the past, where Mithrax still sees the world as Light vs Dark where Eido may see the world as Light and Dark.
Is Siviks dead? The Fallen are not strangers to coming back in new forms (looking at you Taniks and Sepiks). I wouldn't be surprised if he was somehow giving the Taniks treatment and turned into a machine. Otherwise, I think Eris Morn might be the culprit. The only thing is I don't remember if there was Stasis energy lingering in the mission from last week as she only has Stasis. I was also thinking, what if this is Eris' corruption that was supposed to happen according to Elsie?
I think it's fair to say that Siviks is dead-dead. Taniks has always been unique and was more machine than fallen before we met him. Eris being corrupted seems unlikely since in previous timelines it only happened because Elsie refused to teach people how to use Stasis safely

While Eris might have some interest, I think she'd rather work directly with us rather than going about it her own way (though she does happen do go about her own way on many occasions). I think it's more like that Rakis, the Spider, whose clearly shown he has interest in obtaining and using the relics for himself is the more likely culprit. He was sounding rather suspicious in last week's Pirate Lord hunt, especially since he's the one who poses the idea of another crew in the first place.

Regarding the relationship between Eido and Misraaks, I’m reminded of a quote from a Star Wars book. “The only problem with growing up in someone’s shadow is that when you grow beyond it, everyone but the person casting the shadow can see how much you have changed.”
Is it possible that the 3rd party is the Queen? I could see her knowing of the Spider's escape to the Last City. Not to mention that the Queen has also previously worked against The Guardian to a minor extent in order to aid her people.

I think one of the pieces of lore you can read in game states that Mara Sov was informed that Spider is in the Last City, and that she has decided that war with the guardians isn't _quite_ worth is yet.

I'm of the mind that the third party is the Lucent Brood. Imaru may be trying to find these relics first, not to use them or contain them, but to destroy them. He knows what that kind of power can do and how dangerous they can be, especially if they're connected to one of the Witness's Disciples like Rhulk and (in this case) Nezarec. Considering the Lucent Hive are now very much against the Darkness and the Witness, they will do whatever it takes to find and destroy these relics, even if it means sending Hive Guardians to massacre Eramis's forces and our own. At this point, I would be very much surprised if it turns out it wasn't them at all.
My guess is that the Third Party is Fikrul still. I find it odd that we didn't scan for Dark Either, to confirm or deny such an obvious choice during the mission but I think it checks out. Eramis still has loyalty to the Eliksni people as a whole, if she saw the opportunity to turn on the Witness, keep the power for herself, and provide a haven for the Eliksni, she would. She's not fighting for the Witness, she's fighting for her people and to find a way to save herself and them from the war that she can see coming. So sending in the Scorn/Fikrul would make sense as an insurance policy on the Witnesses part, though the theory starts to fall apart since they didn't actually take the relic and it still ended up in our hands by the end. That's where I fall back to your idea of Eris or maybe even Elsie doing their own thing behind the scenes.

Wait... That doesn't ... In that one hideout i could swear they left a bunch of Eliksni bodies behind. A side benefit of Fikrul being involved is snatching up bodies to raise more scorn.
I think the mysterious 3rd party after the relics might be Mithrax' old crew. Unless it turns out he "dealt away" with them in order to abandon that old life, I find it hard to believe they would have all been on board with giving up their search for loot and power like Mithrax was
You saw Misraaks' old crew in the cutscene- it was Rakis, as in, the Spider, and Siviks, the former leader of the Kell's Scourge.
I had no idea those two Eliksni at the start of the cutscene by Mithrax’s mum was Spider and Siviks. I honestly thought they would have been more around Mithrax’s age, but they look around Eido’s age.
Also, I think the Third Party might be someone of the Lucent Brood, maybe Immaru or a new character. There was a Lightbearer Wizard seen during SOP’s reveal.

I loved the fact that we actually got to meet eramis without fighting, it makes her a lot easier to empathise with her, you can kind of tell that she isn't brainwashed by the witness, or even all that corrupted, it seems like she genuinely does wish for the freedom of her people she just can't see that the way isn't through the dark and following the witness. There could be a chance to save her from herself, rather than going back to the standard pattern of killing our enemies outright. Now that I think about it, I predict eramis will board the helm once we collect all the relics, however nezarec himself will be resurrected at that point and go off with the witness basically abandoning eramis who has fulfilled her purpose. Either way I really don't see her siding with the force that destroyed her homeworld in order to take revenge on the force that diddnt save them. Its all a means to an end.
That's the insidious thing about the Witness, he doesn't necessarily corrupt _you_ as much as poisons your desires and the way you achieve them. Eramis genuinely does want prosperity and unification for the Eliksni but because the Witness manipulated her trauma regarding the Whirlwind and the Traveler's perceived abandonment she's stuck in an old mindset.
Ikora is noted as whispering "where are you" to the nezeracs whisper glaive, we know she's unreasonably strong. Perhaps she has some unknown connection to nezzy and she or her hidden are working to try and get him back or at least prevent erimis's people from getting it.
I expected the truth to come out but damn mithrax was the dark kell before eramis and eidos reaction hurt yeah mithrax kept his secret but I understand it not saying eido can’t be mad she can but damn it hurt

The most logical in my opinion would be some form of hive. For if the reviving other hive is the same for the disciples. They could return it and appease the witness. Overall, I believe the witness is finding more players in his army to secure we die.
The odd thing is whatever or whoever did this suffered no losses or took their dead with them? There are only dead fallen no other signs of anyone else.
I like how you can see both Spider and his Brother serving on Missraak's crew in the flashback cutscene. While i don't doubt the pair with their back to the screen are them, what with their build, it's a lot more obvious they're the pair kicking other eliksni off a plank into the void of space. the unique helmets give it away

I really enjoy your videos it's nice to have something that I'm interested in be talked about so I can listen to it while I walk my dog. Tip for anyone stressed about those 50 Champion kills: It seems like a lot, but it states you get bonus progress on Master Ketchcrash; so much so that I completed all "50" kills about halfway through my first run.
I only did the first half of that mission passed out woke up and I didn't have to do it also I live alone so no one else did it for me
Bungie changed the requirement. No longer needs 50 kills.

I'm thinking it might be the lucent hive. Savathun would likely have known more about Nezerac than us, and could reasonably have set up some contingencies in case the witness treid to resurrect him.

I actually love how they specifically referenced that lore tab in an earlier week, with Drifter saying he "might know something" about the relics. Its cool to see even that one line in a lorebook is still remembered.
I'm betting The Drifter hasn't been heavily corrupted by the Relic he possesses is because of the Nine and their interest in him. Either that, or his corruption manifests as him being hungry all the time, which explains why he's ready and willing to eat basically anything/anyone- he's a cannibal.
As for the Third Party- I'm betting it's Spider. He's playing both sides to get his hands on all the relics himself, and gain the power he saw when he was a young warrior. He seemed REALLY keen on using the relics earlier this season, and when Mithrax shot the idea down, that's when this Third Party popped up.
The part of the illustrated cutscene that really guts me is that Misraaks literally kicked out Rakis and Siviks and left them to die. The reason that Spider and Siviks both ended up they way they did could absolutely 100% be the fault of Misraaks. A lot, and I mean a LOT, of the way things have played out in Destiny 2 now fall squarely on Misraaks's shoulders. I can understand why he would feel immense shame.
Like, it's not just random crew members being kicked out of the Ketch. Behind the ones falling off of the gangplank are Siviks and Rakis...behind them is a Captain with his leg raised in a ready-to-kick position...and behind them all is Misraaks. It happened right then and there.
The eliksni have been my favourite enemy race since day one of D1, they feel like coyotes being adaptable and always surviving no matter the cost. Plus the space pirate vibe and aesthetic is nice
My immediate question on the 3rd party is if somehow the shin malfur or the dredgens are the third party, they are known to seek after darkness artifacts in order to protect others and understand them better, probably not but it would be cool for their storyline to get weaved back in.
I think the dichotomy between Light and Dark, especially as of late, has been fascinating.
The Darkness/Witness whispers and even speaks directly to certain people ie. us, Eramis and Oryx. On the other hand, the Traveler communicates through visions (at least thus far).
We’ve seen the visions as well as Crow. Many characters specifically state that they can’t hear the Traveler including the Speaker, Zavala and even Savathun in her resurrection cutscene in Witch Queen. Not sure if there’s anything more to this other than theming but it could be something worth noting as we close out the Light vs. Dark saga.
Little bit of theory here. The 3rd party seeking the Relics of Nezarec is either one of the Cloudstriders with a purpose we may find out about later OR it is the Spider with another hired crew. I think he implies it during the Beastmaster pirate hunt when he mentions other crews. It would fit considering his history with Misraks and how he was humiliated in front of everyone twice now in the Either Tank.
I find it really cool how comparable Miisraks' and Savathun's stories are. Both gained power from the dark, both lied and stole for the sake of power and continued existence, both turned to the light as a supplicant.

I think the 3rd party is the Hive, either Xivu Arath or the Lucent Brood. They are a superior force, and story wise they wouldn't have been able to get to the Beast Master cause the route to him was too small. Also, the Hive should know about Nezarec and the Relics.

Third Party Supposition
Immaru and the Lucent Hive? Granted we don’t have the leftover void blasts like we saw at the beginning of the WQ campaign, but could be interesting to see them use that as a means to bring Savathûn back in to play.
Another thought would be Lysander and their faction.

I like how the "3 best friends" were like *the good, the bad, and the ugly* misracks being the good, siviks being the bad, and spider being the ugly. (Or him being the neutral for his case)

This is where I wished Bungie made the option to let us talk to Misraaks and let us help him mend the now open rift between him and Eido. An option to tell him that he needs to stop ignoring the past, but to also cease treating Eido as that hatchling he discovered all that time ago and lead and guide her as her own individual.
Edit: As for that unknown party that murdered the crew of the Beast Master, knowing now that the pieces are of that Nezarec, a possibly dead disciple of the Witness. For me, it is safe to assume that Calus being that third party, since he is now a disciple for the Witness, and on the missing where you get Haunted's Exotic sparrow, he projected a image of himself in the HELM to tell you the message. Which I interpret that Calus now knows of the HELM's location thanks to the spread of the Egregor spores, meaning that we are making the HELM a more valuable target every time we place a relic there for study, both for Eramis and the Witness.
In regards to the third party hunting the relics I believe it’s the drifter since the beginning he said he would do some investigating of his own on the relics.
Theory, if Eris DOES have ulterior motive, than maybe it’s possible that in the other timelines that either Eris was corrupted by the tombs or she got possessed by Nezarec
Drifter pretty much mirrors my reaction to Mith's past. "So what? We've all done things we regret. What matters is the here and now".
That also reminds me of Party Snax's famous line: "Which is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?"
I've never seen a better case of this than Misraaks.

On the topic of eris possibly helping us by clearing the way for us to collect the relics of nezarec it's very plausible that she could want to have them bound together in order to study either the remains of nezarec to better understand the witness and the nature of the darkness or possibly bring nezarec back as sort of a double agent using the power of the crown of sorrow so that we and eris can develop a better strategy to fight the the witness and also stay one step ahead. Eris already has the necessary means to adjust the spell that savathun used originally on the crown so why not put it to use for the benefit of the last city and its allies.
My favorite part of the seasonal story this week was finding out the guardians can scratch their ghost like a pet
For those working through the 50 champions:
1. Expedition
2. Maintain 80-90% fill rate on the treasure hoard.
3. Get 2 champions (ruffian/saboteur) per stopping point.
4. Once 2 champions killed, fill remaining 10% and move on.
works great, get up to 6 champions per round, took me and my buddies less than an hour to complete.
I absolutely loved how Misraaks said Eramis is just as skilled with her words as with a sword and then she proceeded to give us a bangin story cutscene that paints him in quite a terrible light
While I was playing the role of Lord Alexios (my Titan that created before) at the Parley, I made it to where he had his hand cannon pointed at Eramis because he was expecting there to be a surprise as he didn't trust her like Misraaks did.
Why ON EARTH would we put all of the separated pieces of Nezharec together, on a shelf, in the open? I don’t see that leading to anything good.
Just throwing this out there: I get the feeling Mithrax is currently a strand user, because of the relic, or will become one. The idea that he will embrace his past and overcome the relics corruption makes sense given his story. Also the idea of a gentle weaver getting the power of strand, makes some sense.
Bungie made it clear in the Lightfall reveal stream that our Guardian will be the first person to EVER wield Strand.

Calus is still “”Alive””, Third Party might be him and any Shadows he has. It might be as crazy as it seems, cloudstriders. Nezerac might know something about Neomuna. Those are my two big ideas.
I had a theory that the other party could have been Immaru and the rest of the lightbearing hive. He's one of the only other characters who would have any knowledge of the relics and what they could do and would seek them out as bargaining chips to get Savathun back.
Calaus makes a degree of sense. He is working for the witness. And bringing another disciple back into the mix would be a good play for the forces of the witness
