Byf, is there any lore about rouge guardians? I mean with all of these enemies, there has to be a rouge gang or faction or alliance of guardians who don't believe in what the traveler speaks of or follows in the word of the darkness... Could a human enemy be possible later on?

I've always admired the fallen. How they have such a great knowledge of machinery. I also think that there not the bad guys. They are just like us. Fighting to stay alive. I've always hoped for an alliance between guardians and eliksni and hope that it happen soon!

To be honest, I went through a period in my guardianship where I tried my best to avoid killing the houseless fallen roaming the edz and elsewhere. I’m still in the mindset where I regret every dreg head I pop.

Coming back to some of the old vids made me realize I have been seriously doubting bungie. I was one of those Destiny 1>Destiny 2 people but man bungie has been setting the stones from the beginning.
My favorite part about mithrax's story is it completely parallels variks. They both have the same intent for their people, bring them back to a state of grace and honor, a noble race. The difference is how they choose to do it. Variks was crushed the last remaining original fallen other than himself was killed by uldren he then took matters into his own hands declaring himself kell to lead his people back into grace and betraying the awoken by releasing every prisoner from the prison of elders and escaping presumably to grt every fallen imaginable to raise an army likely to take back the great machine. But mithrax is doing it in a different way, he's already shamed his people already so he has no issue shaming them again by joining the city and he believes doing this will bring them back to their state of grace and honor whilst variks is taking the place of all the other kells before him. The fate for the fallen now rest in these two people, the power dynamic is something i cant wait to see unfold, however one of them has to win soon because the eliksni are about to become extinct if things dont change. (I really hope variks joins us and we have a full scale fallen alliegence)

I really want to see a proper alliance, even if it’s only a section of them, with the Eliksni - they’ve gone from being a scary ever present enemy to a pitiable broken shadow of us, one that was shattered by the Darkness as we might have been had the Traveller not fought back. One that shows the same truly unbreakable determination to survive, the same ingenuity from of our golden age aided by desperation, the same loyalty to one another that makes us lay down our own life for another. We are more similar than we’d care to admit, surely our aims are the same and if we can both push past our instinctive desires for revenge after all the blood we’ve both shed surely we can forge a new path.

You know what would be amazing? Because the Whirlwind was caused by hive, Fallen would aid us in the conflict against Savathûn. You would see characters like the spider’s associates, Misraaks, Variks and those guardians. Maybe not all in one singular house, but all united against the very powers that wasted their home. Fallen NPC’s would be in and around the D3 tower, refugees from whatever remains of the Devils, Winter, Exile, and Wolves. However, the house of Kings still has a kell and an obsession with the traveler.
And fallen guardians. That’d be pretty neat.

That sounds pretty neat. However, there’s still one more head on the hive pantheon, along with the other 3 worm gods. While the vex merely seek convergence, they still lean toward the darker side of the spectrum, and when you read the lore, Calus may have met with the darkness. And we still have to deal with the remaining taken threat, Riven’s curse, the restorative minds, and the darkness itself, which according to Ulan Tan, would cause the light to go with it.
It’s said in the lore that every house except for the Kings has burned their banners, and that’s why the only fallen we see now are the house of dusk, because all the other fallen houses have come together as one, save the kings, but they still hate humanity, or at least dislike us.

Variks fallen is the house of dusk
The way Destiny 2 has been set up makes it look like we're unitentionally gathering allies for an upcoming war, i imagine an alliance with the eliskni would only be considered when guardians are facing a threat they truly believe they cannot defeat.
im hoping its along the lines of guardians fighting a losing battle when all of a sudden fallen combatants appear on the battlefield alongside their machinery, servitors protecting troops, spider tanks obliterating groups of enemies and pikes picking off the stragglers, the guardians at first see them as the enemy they have gotten used to fighting taking on opportunity to wipe out some guardians only to notice they are targetting the enemy and seemingly defending guardians, in the moment guardians push with the eliskni seeing an opportunity to win the battle they were losing, but they do so with caution, they watch the eliskni just waiting for them to make a move, and the eliskni watch the guardians expecting the same.
But hey thats my imagination, its probably going to be something so much less spectacular.

The Gunslinger when you think about it only the hive really want to kill the light. The cabal are just conquerors looking to have more planets to their name , the vex want to consume everything not specifically only the light and the fallen don’t want to kill the traveler but want it for themselves. Meanwhile the hive is really the only faction that wants to exterminate the light.
DarkReaper 171 the Fallen just want the Traveller BACK. It was with them for a time. The Cabal just want to prove themselves militarily to their emperor. The Vex want to take over time. The Hive are just retarded

I really hope Bungo does it! But I think it would be easier if it was a class since if it was a race that would be a LOT of remodeling armour a to fit them and which ever one they choose they will have to change the hit box of them a bit such as docked arms, standing straighter, and smaller height.

For those who don't know. In the outbreak perfected quest when doing zero hour. Mithrax also appears and your basically guiding him back to his ship
The last lines brought tears to my eyes, " ... Let them be know by a name worth of their light, let them once moew called themselves as Eliksni ... Fallen no more" I love Mithrax's lore and I'm hoping we can have a fireteam with a Eliksni in the future.
As someone who's wanted an Eliksni/City alliance since D1, I do hope D3 will feature this. That said, I feel the need to point out the lore of Geomag stabilizers. "She thought of the cheek of her unexpected friend, cupped in her hand, cold and wet. 'Just hang on- Please-' she whispered. Something resembling a laugh surrated from behind his many needle-like teeth. Water dripped from his chainmail mask into his open mouth." I feel that the lore tab is from the warlock's perspective as the group is fighting Hive, and Mithrax falls in battle. So unless we can replicate how the Fallen are able to revive their people or - and this is what I'd be hoping for - a Ghost revives Mithrax, the idea may not go anywhere beyond these lore tabs.
I feel like it's relevant to bring up here a snippet from the lore book 'Most Loyal', specifically the entry 'Some Kind of Luck':
"Cayde took a belt and set the glass down on the table, empty. Something hard around his eyes. Amazing how expressive Exos could be. "Get to the point, Variks."
"Fikrul. The last Scorned Baron. He lives."
Cayde's horn cut an arc through the air as he shook his head, twice, definitive. "Trust me. He's dead. Put a hot one right through here." He poked Variks right in the center of his chest.
"Seen on Earth. I have knowledge. I have information. You know Eliksni have ways. Like Mithrax? Like Taniks?" The warden realized his error as soon as the name was out of his mouth."
Variks establishes that Mithrax has at one point died and returned, and my digging through the lore shows only his death in the Geomag Stabilizers entry. Now, we know the circumstances behind Fikrul and Taniks, and it's fairly safe to assume that 1) Mithrax has not become Scorn and 2) SIVA isn't back. I get the feeling this is far from the last we're going to hear of our honorary Guardian.
@@flarearrow5707 Agreed, but as far as I can tell, with exception to the Scorn, the Eliksni need servitors to be revived - which raises the question of why Riksis, the Devil Archon from Destiny 1 vanilla didn't come back before Devil's lair - and that's what I was talking about. Now, I fully admit, the way the card is written, Misraaks may survive with grievous injuries, but dependent on how much Ether the tower can get, that'll still gonna be lethal to him because of how much he lost, if he can even get medical help in time. Plus, I feel him dying and being revived by a Ghost would be better, since it would symbolize the Traveler's regret at leaving the Eliksni behind, and is happy they survived, so who better to serve as the first Eliksni Guardian in Sol than one who would fight alongside humanity to create a new future.
Josh Miller eliksni can be revived by using servitors? I didn’t know that. Because if that’s true, like it’s a full on resurrection, perhaps Misraaks has, or had, designed and built a ghost-sized servitore with the capability to generate enough ether to heal mortal injuries and if necessary, revive him. And that maybe in some fight with his new found guardian friends (not just allies) this servitor is destroyed and he gets really injured. After which the rest of the story is speculation, theories and hopes.
Logan Marconcini I admit, it’s more a guess due to Taniks canonically being revived even before Siva, and I remember reading it somewhere. Can’t remember where, admittedly.
@True Neutral A fair if invalid point. Using the same page from Varik's lore book as Flame, we see Misraaks was revived, as Variks points out that Fallen revival isn't too far fetched a thing for Cayde to not believe it. That implies it happens often enough, just not with many random Fallen for it to be fully documented. Plus, with the D2 headshot for the House of Dusk, we see images of their body at the moment their heads go pop, potentially their souls. Combined with how little we know of Ether, it's possible that Servitors use the Ether from the bodies and raw Ether to revive an Elkisni as long as the bodies aren't too FUBAR.
Destiny 3, Human/Fallen/Awoken/Cabal alliance, at least the first three, vs the Darkness/tetrahedron ships, that would be a cool endgame. Maybe part of it would be winning more alliances.
And Vex are watching just watching it all like "you idiots never learn do you"

I actually spared him during the first playthrough only because I missed my last hammer and I wondered why he didnt attack me after the hive was killed.

I can really feel your passion for lore burning in your content and I wish I could be discussing it with you. I feel like we're going to be able to play as the Eliksni in Destiny 3, and fight against rogue/darkness wielding Guardians, too. We've been getting story about those things for a long time. I really hope playable Eliksni and dark Guardians, are part of the pay off.

I actually left the captain alive since I actually play a somewhat merciful guardian. I kill the Vex and Hive since their goals directly involve destroying other life, but the Fallen and Cabal don't care about us, they just want the traveler, so I spare them if they don't attack me.

Came here after playing the 8th part of Season of the Splicer today. Mithrax is one of my favorite characters and I'm loving his story thus far.

I've always thought something was strange. I've always hated the hive and been indifferent to the fallen, even when Skolas was a thing. I couldn't look at the fallen anymore like a menace and more like a band of warring tribes never uniting. Seeing Misraaks come full circle into a fireteam is pretty cool in and of itself, but seeing him assemble a house for a united front with guardians seems a cool way to take it.

@@arizonatea8801 Maybe YOU are. Zavala specifically says that he does not condone firing the first shot in the loaded question quest. This means we only ever act in self-defense. Yes, we as a whole have had some questionable morals at several times, but again, look at the competition. I think we are a bit better than them, except for maybe the fallen who are kind of on even footing as they are just trying to survive like us. Though last I checked we've never gathered practically all our forces and attacked their home head-on. Or attacked their home from six different fronts. Now, the Eliksni, sure, but they are not Eliksni any more. They are Fallen.
@Konstantin Demenko Have you not paid attention to history? pledging oneself to an empire like that would basically be letting yourself go into slavery. The only reason the psions aren't still slaves is because of their power, which humanity would not have without the traveler. Besides, the biggest problem with empires that big is they are always doomed to fall. Even for alien species, it is incredibly hard to govern something that big. The poor government is one of the main reasons the Roman empire fell and the cabal are largely based on that. Since we killed Ghaul and Calus is still exiled, it seems they have no concrete ruler right now. Not to mention the Romans weren't terribly good people. And countless other reasons why we would NOT want to be involved with them.
It's all about intention. Forsaken's campaign shows the dark side of being a Guardian: having vengeance and bloodlust. By killing an unarmed man, how are we any different from the Hive?
