    I always love these videos that show the nuts and bolts on 50 year cars that come right apart......every single nut and bolt on my '71 Chevelle required a blow torch, hammer and sawzall to remove.....

      @mcrickyd32 2 роки тому

      Hahahaha same. Like it seems these shows do the job, put the stuff back on and then re do the job for the camera and every bolt breaks free with a regular size wrench or stubby ratchet handle.

    What I want to know that no one has ever answered is if you have the distribution block that was originally mounted on the frame under the car how do you connect the brake lines to the new proportioning valve located on the master cylinder?

    • @georgearce5098
      @georgearce5098 3 роки тому

      Did you get your answer? I'm curious, I have a 64 A body with power drum brakes.

      @@georgearce5098 No I never got an answer. I just mounted my proportioning valve in the original spot and ran lines that were preformed like the originals. I think I got them from Ecklers.

    Hello I have the same brake caliper set up and after i install the caliper and spin the rotor. The outer brake pad rattles, like its loose. how do I correct this?

    • @pjack3989
      @pjack3989  9 років тому

      Sounds like you are missing a brake pad clip. They hold the pads in place so they don't rattle. Also sometimes called anti rattle clip....

    • @djjoshsanchez
      @djjoshsanchez 9 років тому

      P Jack I purchased these rattle clips that were recommended for my nova. But im not sure how to install. I know that the bigger size are for the inner pads but im not sure how to install the smaller clips. Any ideas? shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcsstore/CVWEB/staticproductimage//2566/large/22141334_rnb_26210_pri_larg.jpg

      I know this is an OLD Post but Someone may have the Same Question- if the OUTER PAD is Loose in the Caliper(and Moves) then the Top Tabs need to be Slightly Bent by Tapping with A Hammer, Until the Pad is Snug in the Caliper.

    Parts are from MBM, my kit had standard rotors that were junk, the rear races were off center and one was not seated, very dangerous! No help from MBM! Had to purchase good rotors to complete job!

    You can't use the old spindle when doing a conversion kit. You will need to change out your spindle to a discbrake spindle.

    • @stefanbogunovic5661
      @stefanbogunovic5661 9 років тому +1

      +P Jack -if that is the case then why do they sell kits without the spindles

    • @dylangreene8756
      @dylangreene8756 7 років тому +6

      Stefan Bogunovic you can modify the old spindle by cutting .6 of an inch off the top boss and it'll clear the caliper bracket. poor mans methods that'll get the job done.

    They did not hook up any brake lines to the car, That was at least an incomplete kit. The way they left it there would be no brakes at all.

    • @thewhiteelephant
      @thewhiteelephant 4 роки тому

      The car already has its own brake lines. You hook those up to the new components. If you need new brake lines, you can purchase them as a kit. I’ve yet to see a kit that includes everything in this video plus the brake lines.
