It would help if you torque the damn thing down
what was that metal/wire clip that was on the original break pad when you first took the pads out of the caliper? I noticed that you did not put it back on. Is it not required?
Can you remix to eliminate that worthlessly loud filler MUSIC?
I just installed and it spun freely but when I installed the brake caliper it doesn’t spin freely it grinds when I spin the rotor what do i do
Great how to, Thanks.
I always love these videos that show the nuts and bolts on 50 year cars that come right apart......every single nut and bolt on my '71 Chevelle required a blow torch, hammer and sawzall to remove.....
Hahahaha same. Like it seems these shows do the job, put the stuff back on and then re do the job for the camera and every bolt breaks free with a regular size wrench or stubby ratchet handle.
They did not hook up any brake lines to the car, That was at least an incomplete kit. The way they left it there would be no brakes at all.
The car already has its own brake lines. You hook those up to the new components. If you need new brake lines, you can purchase them as a kit. I’ve yet to see a kit that includes everything in this video plus the brake lines.
Whats with the 'background music' ??? The whole problem with this video is the freakin noise in the background. Basically very annoying trying to hear anything verbal. Whoever thinks it was ever the IN thing to do was a total arsehole !!! Ges that's 90% of all other Utuber channels (lol) ... ehh yea - I'm so right !!!!!
Calm down.
What I want to know that no one has ever answered is if you have the distribution block that was originally mounted on the frame under the car how do you connect the brake lines to the new proportioning valve located on the master cylinder?
Did you get your answer? I'm curious, I have a 64 A body with power drum brakes.
@@georgearce5098 No I never got an answer. I just mounted my proportioning valve in the original spot and ran lines that were preformed like the originals. I think I got them from Ecklers.
Got anything for rear disc conversion kits for a 75 el Camino?
What do I check for if the disc does not spin freely
Loosen the castle nut 1/4 turn on your spindle.
I purchased this kit and it absolutely sucks. missing so many parts and the instructions sucked. NEVER AGAIN.
Will this kit change the offset
Hey shitt for brains, what about torqueing the bolts on the disk brake anchor bracket and the steering knuckle? You don't simply tighten up with a wrench.. it has to be torqued.
Wait a minute. When you bench bled your MC you didnt even have the return tubes down in the fluid. Ummm... lol At any rate, thanks for making this video. Really helpful.
Don't buy anything from these crooks they will not stand behind their products, will not return or answer emails and give you the runaround. ( real-life Pirates )
I just had to do one for a friend it was a nightmare. The passenger side caliper bracket was slightly bent so the caliper wouldn't fit. That among with 2 or 3 other parts had to be modified to fit. Not happy.
Seems that they don't answer questions from viewers.
Thats when you say to yourself if they dont care about there customers you shouldnt care about there product and look else where!
my dust shield rubs on my lower control arm so cant finish. why? 68 camaro disc brakes all new parts
Shouldnt need it, or trim it.
Parts are from MBM, my kit had standard rotors that were junk, the rear races were off center and one was not seated, very dangerous! No help from MBM! Had to purchase good rotors to complete job!
I'm a little surprised that you don't use torque wrenches.
Any options for a 65 Chevy corvair? I'm having trouble finding any info on disc to rotor kit for corvairs
Dustin Garcia corvair.com or California corvair parr’s.com
did you have to torque anything
Yes. All torque specs are in the install manual when you buy the kit. Hope that helps!
Love polka music

Would this kit work on a 1967 Impala?

Where did you guys get the kit from?
first time i am pretty good at it
I need a kit to update the front brakes on my 1973 Ford Van.
Question I'm quite new to this stuff so I can use the stock brake lines in 4 disk brakes in a 93 Silverado
Hello I have the same brake caliper set up and after i install the caliper and spin the rotor. The outer brake pad rattles, like its loose. how do I correct this?
Sounds like you are missing a brake pad clip. They hold the pads in place so they don't rattle. Also sometimes called anti rattle clip....
P Jack I purchased these rattle clips that were recommended for my nova. But im not sure how to install. I know that the bigger size are for the inner pads but im not sure how to install the smaller clips. Any ideas? shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcsstore/CVWEB/staticproductimage//2566/large/22141334_rnb_26210_pri_larg.jpg
I know this is an OLD Post but Someone may have the Same Question- if the OUTER PAD is Loose in the Caliper(and Moves) then the Top Tabs need to be Slightly Bent by Tapping with A Hammer, Until the Pad is Snug in the Caliper.
You can't use the old spindle when doing a conversion kit. You will need to change out your spindle to a discbrake spindle.
+P Jack -if that is the case then why do they sell kits without the spindles
Stefan Bogunovic you can modify the old spindle by cutting .6 of an inch off the top boss and it'll clear the caliper bracket. poor mans methods that'll get the job done.

i bought this kit but i used the old spindle...the rotor is grinding against the top hex bolt...how do i fix this
alex e by putting the new spindle on
