Great job man! Having spent almost half of my life in the professional car scene I have always loved good rattle can paint jobs and this one is spot on!
I used to beat myself up attempting to paint cars out of can's like this. Yeah, its totally possible to do this and you have done it. But the day I finally decided to use a paint gun and proper materials I realized that doing a car out of spray can's isn't worth it. You can buy that same rustoleum paint in a regular can for $15 at tractor supply. do an 8-4-1 mix and get way more paint for the money, and do the job better and faster out of an HVLP gun. Sure, you have to find a compressor, and buy the gun, but after a couple small jobs it pays for itself. and having a compressor around is good for other things.
8 parts paint, 4 parts thinner, 1 part hardner. so for example, if you start with 8oz paint you would add 4oz thinner, and 1oz hardner, mix and put in the gun. you can multiply this to match whatever amount of paint you want to shoot. so if you started with 16oz paint you would add 8oz thinner and 2oz hardner. or 4oz paint, 2oz thinner, .5 oz hardner. the last one is the lowest I would go because its difficult to eyeball less than half an oz accurately- at least on the cups I have.
Kyle's cars aye Bra so how much u think i would need 4 the front hood down 2 bumper & just the back bumper on a sedan? & can I spray right over the original factory paint or do I have 2 strip it

Dude this is a super sick way and cheaper way to repaint your car if you wanted to. I'm truly impressed on how well it came out and how there is no inconsistencies in the paint!
cool. nice job btw. i painted my Kawasaki ZX-7R superbike with a can of PJ1 Kawasaki green, alpine white and flat black spray paint. it looked amazing! perfectly smooth, flat and no imperfections at all. the only part painted green was the upper fairing extending partially to the lower fairing. the largest area was the white covering 90% of the lower fairings and tail section and it turned out perfect as well. the black was just for narrow accent stripes, a border around the number plate on the tail section and a small area at the bottom of the belly pan for all the white sponsor logo decals. i clear coated everything as well. it truly looked professionally painted. a nice paint job can be done by spray can if you properly prepare the surface and take your time. as can clearly be seen by your car! sweet!
Great job . My concern is about your health . You’re young right now , but you won’t live forever . Every time you spray and don’t use a respirator , you’re cutting your life short . With what you saved by painting it yourself , you can easily afford a top notch system and save your lungs . Please !!!! 👍👍👍👍
Omg so right I actually saw the video on my suggestions and I was like omg dont tell me they painted it to look like Kevin's or Ben's car from ben 10 but I also benefited from this but like yah I got those vibes also
dude that looks super good. good work. if you hadn't filmed it, i wouldn't have believed you did it at home with a rattle can. thumbs up man. here in canada we have stuff called tremclad and its also rust paint , really thick and shiny, dries slow but dries into a nice durable shiny finish. i used rust paint on my subframe and engine mounts and they turned out really nice and shiny.
I have done this so long it don't bother me anymore. Back in the day 2005-2006 when i started doing vehicles it sucked and my forearm was on fire and my finger hurt but i have been doing it since then and don't even realize it anymore.
That is really the best spray paint job I've ever seen. Great job man. And for $40 you can't beat that. So after 3 years how has it held up? Would love to see what it looks like today.
I have had this comment a lot. I couldn't find my mask so i bought a brand new one (the one i use in my newer videos) and then i found my mask after buying a new one so now i have 2. The shop was well vented hard to see on camera since there is only 1 angle really. But don't worry i have been bashed constantly for not doing it but it didn't effect me in any way so we are good! :D Meaning no negative effects even had a chest X ray done during my wellness check up and they said no blockages or anything bad so dodged a bullet.
Nice work. I painted my Harley with approximately 18 oz. of Rust Oleum Gloss White Enamel with a harbor freight $14.00 gravity sprayer with my compressor. I saved myself $2000.00 doing it myself rather than taking it to a painter. Proper prep and a little hard work goes a very long way.
Painted my cj7 with rustolium 2x, and it turned out great!! Used implement paint on the inside of the tub (with a paint brush, it’s self leveling, tough, and cheap) ford an implement, and rustolium 2x apple red are an exact match! Great job man, a lil prep goes a long way
Dennis Lorden I think with the black and the green I spent like 38$ less than 40$ I had the sand paper and the acetone so that was already purchased prior. I agree though. Turned out awesome and it breaks all kind of necks around town lol
You need to spend thousands on a good paint job that will last, trust me I can guarantee there is a lot you can’t see on camera (tiger stripes, dry spray, orange peel) if you don’t care and it’s just a little 5k car sure have it at but to pass this off as a “good paint job” come on now
Anthony Short Yea I know been doing it years like that I’m kinda a dumbass when it comes to that I get to caught up and don’t realize it till I’m half way done. It don’t make me high like some and I have got used to it so much that it’s hard for me to notice lol. Some times I wear them though haha
I'm contemplating doing this myself. I have a 94 Chevy 1500 that needs some rust cleaned off. It was abandoned on my parents property so I got the title. $95 for the court fee's and $45 for the titling. So, I don't see myself paying to have it professionally painted, especially since it's a work truck. Besides, if I hate it, I can't just have it wrapped. Lol. But these videos are inspiring me to brave it. Nothing too bright. Maybe just the white it was or a nice gunmetal grey. Thanks for this video.
Great job! I painted a hardbody with rustoleum spray paint about 5 years ago and it looked like the professionally painted trucks parked next to it. After about a year, the color on the roof and hood did start to fade due to UV exposure. The sun is very harsh on paint, especially when combined with dirt from the road plus washings.
@@vityazsix No. Standard Clear coat doesnt have UV protection in it. You'd have to use specific UV resistant paint and clearcoat, like actual car paint is.
Currently in the process of painting my G35 sedan...this video definitely helped me feel more confident in my choice of handling the job myself! Your G turned out very very good. Definitely not my taste in color but, as you said that's what you like. FOR SURE a way cheaper route to go as well as a great outcome. Amazing.
Overlapping strokes is what I use and let each coat dry then get some clear coating then polish doesn’t work for everyone some don’t like doing it but it works for me
I used the same paint on my truck wheels over two years ago. It's still nice after two winters and off roading in the summer. It just has a few rust spots on the edges from normal road wear. It's actually holding up better than the new chrome bumper I put on the same time.
@@emmettcoen I used the high heat enamel for bbq grills so that might be why . And a couple coats of clear. It lasted for 2 years dumb fuck read what the fuck I said smartass.
That looks fantastic! I'm super impressed, I've heard of people spray painting their cars but I've never seen it look this good! I love the color btw. Great job!
It’s incredible, but I’d still rather paint with a spray gun because it’s a beautiful car and would not be harder to paint better with a machine. Even though it’s perfect with a can, I can imagine the peeling problems in the future won’t be worth the effort but at best you save the money. Great job!
I can’t wait to try this. I’ve had a camper van project for a few years where the last owner used a paint roller to roll brown and black paint on. I’m going to change the whole van to pine green, black front fenders and hood, with a checkerboard pattern across the roof. Wish me luck 😂
Great job brother, looks fantastic! Ignore the hate! Yes there's better paint jobs, but they cost thousands more. Couldn't ask for more from aerosol cans. Your car went from drab to stellar, looks awesome bud!
Great job, I'm impressed with your results. If you would hit it with some 2K clear spray bombs, then wet sand and buff it. No one would believe its was a rattle can paint job even if you told them it was.
Hey bro next time or if you can find a junk body panel why dont you do an in depth how to get good results using rattle cans with actual communication explaining your process in depth looks good bro but just time lapsing it doesn't give us a good idea of how it's done thanks bro
I think the best way to learn is to do,buy some cheap 2 dollar cans and practice only u know what u want to see as far as what the paint should look like, it's different than other auto work, people can give u advice but u have to just practice to get as good as this guy,who knows u might be close and not know it . Hand eye coordination lol
Why don't you invest in a $20 panel and $10 spray paint and test it yourself loser ,your one of those people that spend hours and hours watching other people spend their time and money doing these videos and then make stupid comments, when in actuality your never gonna paint anything.
@@kyle-kelliher thank you sir

Kyle's cars aye Bra so how much u think i would need 4 the front hood down 2 bumper & just the back bumper on a sedan? & can I spray right over the original factory paint or do I have 2 strip it
Not bad not bad! Way better than Macco
Jordan Hillard how much time will a 2k clear give the paint?
A good couple coats of clear is definitely good investment, but dude you were bang on it’s WAY better than Maaco
💯
Definitely not better than macco
Definitely better than Macco👏🏼
You can rock that color in Japan, they are all about bright colors.
As a proud owner of a sublime pearl hemi Challenger, I approve this project.

You know that is one fine job you did on your car. My compliments.
WOW IMPRESSIVE MAN...YOU JUST GAVE ME THE CONFIDENCE I NEEDED!!!
Dude this is amazing work. The fact that you had the guts to do this gives me the confidence to do this to my bmw lollll THANKS!!!!!
Jessayess dont do it to the beamer
I'm betting you needed an index finger transplant after this...😀 Nice job!!
He's been doing it 13 years. He's got the sprayfinger life.
Good tips . I'm trying it on my beater. Might get the trigger Cap thing tho
Will need lung transplant too

I'm a professional auto painter and i have to say you did a great job . nice work my friend. Now I'm going to do my car matte black with spray cans.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲
Please !!!! 👍👍👍👍
Doggone that thing looks spectacular!! You did an outstanding job. By the way I like the color!!!
It really turned out nice

Really well done dude. You have a lot of patience and consistency, and it paid off. Now ceramic coat it!
The color of your car gives me ben 10 vibes 😀 👊and the color also fit to your car 👌👍
Omg so right I actually saw the video on my suggestions and I was like omg dont tell me they painted it to look like Kevin's or Ben's car from ben 10 but I also benefited from this but like yah I got those vibes also
Very impressive, makes me tempted to do my own car in rustoleum white sometimes 😊
dude that looks super good. good work. if you hadn't filmed it, i wouldn't have believed you did it at home with a rattle can. thumbs up man. here in canada we have stuff called tremclad and its also rust paint , really thick and shiny, dries slow but dries into a nice durable shiny finish. i used rust paint on my subframe and engine mounts and they turned out really nice and shiny.
Great awesome job. Eff all the trolls. The art is real. Dedication is real. I know youre fingers were throbbing.
I have done this so long it don't bother me anymore. Back in the day 2005-2006 when i started doing vehicles it sucked and my forearm was on fire and my finger hurt but i have been doing it since then and don't even realize it anymore.
Awesome job, but please wear a mask dude. 😂🤣😂 we want you to live lol
dropbodies1 you won't die unless you have 100 spray cans! Best case, he's simply getting high 😂
That is really the best spray paint job I've ever seen. Great job man. And for $40 you can't beat that. So after 3 years how has it held up? Would love to see what it looks like today.
Unless it sits in the garage it won’t hold up. There’s no clear coat on it
@@geegeegeez exactly what I was thinking
@@geegeegeez I don't think I could do all that work and not clear coat it in some manner
@@geegeegeez it has protective enamel in it, it’s pretty tough stuff.
Im doin it to my Dakota 5.9 R/T. So far really good. However im adding 2 layers of coat just in case 👍
Doing this to my first car... INSPIRED!!
Great job bro. Use a mask next time tho. Want u around to keep making these vids.👍👍👍
So how'd it hold up after some time (weeks, months) in sun?
People like you make me so happy and impressed. He's saved hundreds maybe even thousands. I will be painting my own car as well ;)
So doing my own paintjob on my own car, thank you for making this video!
im a hobby painter and dammnn you got nice job in there bro. salute apir!
Yessssss love this. I have been wanting to spray paint my Eclipse after I spray painted my stove🤭😁. I'm doing your glitter technique on some parts❤❤❤❤
Super curious to know how the paint has held up after a year! I'm impressed with how good it actually came out, good job!
Same here
Looks like shit. He would have responded
CRF250R1521 🤣😂
@@CRF250R1521 He said in another comment that this was a temporary paint job he painted over later that year.
Beautiful. It's all in the meticulous prep work you did.
Painted my cj7 with rustolium 2x, and it turned out great!! Used implement paint on the inside of the tub (with a paint brush, it’s self leveling, tough, and cheap) ford an implement, and rustolium 2x apple red are an exact match!
Great job man, a lil prep goes a long way
You can get handles that would attach to the can which makes squeezing the trigger really easy.
So many people think u need to spend thousands on a paint job, this proves u don't have to spend much
Dennis Lorden I think with the black and the green I spent like 38$ less than 40$
I had the sand paper and the acetone so that was already purchased prior. I agree though. Turned out awesome and it breaks all kind of necks around town lol
Dennis Lorden I'm ready to paint my car thanks
What paint and gloss did you use
You need to spend thousands on a good paint job that will last, trust me I can guarantee there is a lot you can’t see on camera (tiger stripes, dry spray, orange peel) if you don’t care and it’s just a little 5k car sure have it at but to pass this off as a “good paint job” come on now
you havnt seen it in person. Will look terrible
People make sure you are in a well ventilated area, and I suggest wearing a respirator when sanding.
Bro! Safety first always use the mask but .... badass job cheers 🍻
Anthony Short Yea I know been doing it years like that I’m kinda a dumbass when it comes to that I get to caught up and don’t realize it till I’m half way done. It don’t make me high like some and I have got used to it so much that it’s hard for me to notice lol. Some times I wear them though haha
Im more concerned about you not wearing a mask while sanding down the paint initially. Not good bro, be safe protect your lungs
Been doing it for years but your right. Most the time i have a mask though lol

Same. Also a hardbody. Lol
isnt the clear coat supposed to protect it?
@@vityazsix No. Standard Clear coat doesnt have UV protection in it. You'd have to use specific UV resistant paint and clearcoat, like actual car paint is.
We got the idea to Spray bomb a 86 Mustang Coupe,it turned out so good we had it shot with Clear. Its still looking good to my suprise.
How long has it been since the job?
Currently in the process of painting my G35 sedan...this video definitely helped me feel more confident in my choice of handling the job myself! Your G turned out very very good. Definitely not my taste in color but, as you said that's what you like. FOR SURE a way cheaper route to go as well as a great outcome. Amazing.
I gotta wear a mask to go buy Bananas and this guy paints a complete car freeballin' How times have changed #rona
This too real 🤣
Thanks so much. Great looking job. Quick question, overall about how much time did everything take from prepping to painting to drying roughly?
Where do you buy those invisible masks you’re wearing?
Y'know... I was wondering that also. Tired of these visible respirators & goggles I've been wearing.

I’ve been following you for a while man, you still blow my mind on quality out of a can. Looks great, keep these vids coming. 🤙🏼
Coooooooool vid. Like how u paint the edges first. Like in art class
Would go good with "avocados from Mexico" sticker on your back window. just saying.
VERY Impressive. Never seen a complete car painted with rattle cans. Good job!
Ever seen ya Sista completely paint a car while she rattles her cans, though? Exactly 💯
I wish I knew how to paint like this, that car looks amazing
Overlapping strokes is what I use and let each coat dry then get some clear coating then polish doesn’t work for everyone some don’t like doing it but it works for me
But yeah you always need to sand the car
But the first coat after you sand it must be primer it lets you get a better look on the paint
Do you have an update of how well the paint held up after a year?
Yup , thats what I Wana know aswell 😊
I used the same paint on my truck wheels over two years ago. It's still nice after two winters and off roading in the summer. It just has a few rust spots on the edges from normal road wear. It's actually holding up better than the new chrome bumper I put on the same time.
I did four coats.
You meant after a week!
Great job!
Really impressed with how that came out. Amazing job
I surprise myself some times
Extremely proficient, great video and very detailed.

I think the best way to learn is to do,buy some cheap 2 dollar cans and practice only u know what u want to see as far as what the paint should look like, it's different than other auto work, people can give u advice but u have to just practice to get as good as this guy,who knows u might be close and not know it . Why don't you invest in a $20 panel and $10 spray paint and test it yourself loser ,your one of those people that spend hours and hours watching other people spend their time and money doing these videos and then make stupid comments, when in actuality your never gonna paint anything.
