- This story is 100% true and I kept it to myself for so long! Even my girlfriend and family haven't heard this story in full until now. I think I only told a small handful of friends at the time... but it's just such a ridiculous story that it's funny to me now. I guess that doesn't make it the worst day, since it made for a great story! ;)

When I was 17, I worked at Target. On my second day, they had me work a 10 hour night shift as a cashier on black Friday. After 6 hours, I started feeling really really anxious and nauseous. My supervisor told me to go sit down. I started walking to the break room and as I was punching in the code for the door, I started to black out. I opened the door and puked strawberry smoothie alllll over the break room floor then passed out in it. After that, everyone at my job started spreading rumors that I went to work drunk -.-

My jaw dropped when you got peed on. That was so much worse than I thought it was going to be. Wow.

I thought the woman was going to sexually harass you or something was going to happen with the bag of throw-up or something...I was NOT expecting that! Holy cow!
And I feel you on the motion sickness. I was once on a very crowded bus (standing room only,) and I realised that if I didn't get off the bus soon, I was going to faint. I had to crouch down, in the middle of all these people, to keep myself steady, and when the bus finally stopped, I practically THREW myself out the doors. I also had to get out of the car to throw up on a mountainside in Italy. Fun.

The job itself wasn't that far away, just the interview location! The job was for a new company that was opening up much closer to me, but the building wasn't finished yet.

This remains my biggest comfort for applying for jobs and interviews. I just think it can’t be as bad as this.

This sounds absolutely horrifying and I am so sorry... Good on you for still trying to go through with the interview. I honestly would have just nope'd on out of there.

This really sounds like a nightmare scenario! The kind where you feel like you're late for an exam and the hallway just gets longer and longer (and somewhere along the way pee is involved...You know, that kind of nightmare). You're quite brave for soldiering on though, good job Ang!
This story made me really tense, but your determination and positivity actually made it feel like a happy ending. I think I've learned something today, so thanks!

I had a pigeon take a massive dump over me, my (long) hair, my bag and my hands whilst I was en route to a meeting... I had to send an e-mail to the people I was meeting to reschedule due to pigeon defecation. Literally, a shit day!

I experience mild motion sickness and thankfully I have never thrown up in a bus but a few times have been reeeaaallyyy close. The panic you feel when you frantically start looking around for a plastic bag and desperately try to focus on your breathing is the WORST. :(

have you ever tried the bracelets that put pressure onto your wrist for motion sickness? i've gotten one at drugstores before and i have horrible motion sickness and they actually worked so well that i survived a 2 week long trip of a lot of driving in the back seat while even keeping my head down and playing on my DS!!

+albinwonderland Ok! So I get car sick a bit too. But! I learned at my medical internship that it is caused by movement of the neck because it pinches a blood vessel and you get deprived of oxygen and that it was what causes nausea. This might be hard on a bus but try to keep your head as level as possible (straight ahead, don't be swayed!) and breathe as deeply as you can. It helps so much.

Although I haven't been in exactly that kind of situation (haha, oh sorry my poor Ang!), it was surprisingly extremely helpful and soothing for my anxiety to hear you bravely an unabashedly hammer out this story with a smile on your face (although I realize that its from looking back on this in hindsight). When I'm down and overthinking something I think of how you might approach this situation and I smile :)

I've been downpoured on, late because of freak flooding, aaaand once my phone broke while I was on my way to an interview at a place a half hour away that I was unfamiliar with, so I had no idea where I was going. I'm sorry all that happened to you, I would've been in tears too !!

That was a rollercoaster ride, start to finish. I loved hearing you tell a story (again, again!), but I hate that this happened to you.
Aww I totally relate to the motion sickness thing! I remember being on a school trip to the Isle of Wight when I must have been...9 years old? Maybe? And I was dreading the journey because it was by coach and I knew that I ALWAYS got sick on coach journeys and this one was going to be a whole day of traveling. I was sick 5 times. After not having had breakfast. By the 5th time I would barely pause conversation with my friends to vomit in a bag, casually tie a knot in it and add it to the growing pile of bags in the coach rubbish bin. My friends thought it was hilarious and the rest of the class was disgusted. I remember getting off the coach and finding my mum in the crowd of parents and her saying "....oh my gosh...you're GREEN!" I must have looked so ill :')
I would always get sick in my parents car, sometimes it was only a 30 min drive and i would have to ask them to pull over so I could be sick by the side of the road. This went on for 12 years of my life and then I started to get over it when I caught a bus to secondary school everyday.
