Shoutout to the one AMAZING manager at the Margaritaville that let them in after closing. People are shocking willing to help out when you explain what' going on, ironically even more so when the reason is legitimate but also EXTREMELY stupid.

You just reminded me of shopping for bras for chorus members of a Broadway show I was interning on. I went up to the register with twenty bras of various sizes and skin tones, and the employees asked what in the world I was doing. So I explained I had combed the clearance section for the right sizes and colors since Equity actors have to have costume undergarments provided for them to wear during performances.
The total rang up around $40 over the limit on the company card I had, and the cashier just looked at me and said “hey, you’re wearing red, right? We’re doing a heart health month promotion where there’s a discount if you wear red,”
I looked at her in all black theater kid confusion, and she picked up a red pen from the counter, leaned forward, and tucked it behind my ear.
Then processed the discount, so I could buy all the bras in one transaction on the card.

My Mom is a massive Parrothead who has been to multiple Jimmy Buffet concerts in her lifetime.
I've had a decent portion of Jimmy Buffet's songs memorized since I was 12. I have eaten at three Margaritaville resturaunts, stayed at a Margaritaville hotel, and recently went on a Margaritaville-themed cruise ship. I have worn multiple Margaritaville shirts to school. The family minivan has a "Pirate Looks at Forty" lisence plate on the front. The bar in our basement has two Margaritaville drink coolers, a Margaritaville clock on the wall, a "Changes in Lattitues" sign, and an "It's 5-o'clock Somewhere" sign right above it, and multiple Margaritaville margarita blenders. I own a Margaritaville bike with a little squeaky parrot instead of a bell or horn. I have read four of Jimmy Buffet's books, including two childrens picture books and two short story collections inspired by his songs. My mother's ringtone has been "Margaritaville" the song since she got her first iPhone and I've been conditioned to think her phone is ringing every time I hear that song in the wild. She also wants to move to Florida and live at the Margaritaville Resort outside of Orlando, and wants her gravestone to be a palm tree with lyrics from "The Weather is Here" engraved on it. I also know way too much Jimmy Buffett trivia for someone my age, including his birthday and the stories behind some of his songs.
Did I mention I'm not even of drinking age?
As someone who's been surrounded by Jimmy Buffet shit my whole life, it is utterly fascinating seeing the opinion of an outsider. Yes, the Parrotheads are a cult, even as an insider I can tell you that, but if I had to be born into a cult, I'm glad it was this one.
RIP Jimmy Buffett. You made my childhood, for better or for worse

I like the concept but there's nothing fun about visiting multiple Cracker Barrels. _Maybe_ the decorations on the wall are different but beyond that...there's no distinction between them. Even the merch isn't unique to the locations. The food ain't even worth the effort, let's be real. I think the couple started when there weren't so many and now they kind of feel obligated to do it...or corporate never updated the training videos to say "yeah they stopped doing that" lol.

To those who are still seeking, still questioning, still not sure about their faith, here's an invitation.
Understand that we, as humans, are limited. We often make mistakes, go astray, and lose our way. It's not about perfection; no one is. As it is stated in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Recognize that actions alone won't bring ultimate salvation. It's not about counting good deeds against the bad. Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
Believe in the transformative power of love and forgiveness embodied in Jesus Christ. He laid down His life so we could find ours. The Bible states in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
True change and enlightenment come when we turn away from our old life and towards a new one - one guided by compassion, love, and humility. Acts 3:19 says, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
Express your faith, not only in words but also in actions. Embrace love, kindness, and righteousness, just like how Jesus lived His life. As Romans 10:9 suggests, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Consider baptism, a symbolic gesture of your new journey, your decision to leave the old behind, and embark on a new life in Him. Matthew 28:19 encourages us, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Lastly, remain steadfast. Consistency in following Jesus and His teachings is the key. As Jesus says in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commands."
This is not a demand but a warm invitation. ..

Fun fact: Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritraville was where I had my very first margarita. I nervously asked the bartender what he recommended. He asked, “How strong do you like ‘em?” For some reason I blurted out, “real strong.” I knew I’d fucked up when he poured “The Perfect Margarita.” I proceeded to take the first sip and WOW it was not good. Tasted like straight tequila. I tried my best to drink it so I didn’t waste my money but I ended up puking in the bathroom. Overall I took it as a learning experience, no more perfect margaritas from Jimmy.

I worked as a prep cook at a Margaritaville and I cannot express how wild it was to hear the jammin' jambalaya get this kind of shout-out. I don't eat meat so I can't speak to the taste, but it took one cook an entire shift just to mise. If you put two cooks on it during the day you could PROBABLY get a batch done. I worked nights solo and I lived in abject fear of the words "jambalaya on the fly." When my shift supervisor checked me out at the end of the night, every time without fail he would open my meticulously cleaned tilt skillet and say "oh no, it's full of jambalaya!" just to watch me squirm. I had a running joke with a coworker where our response to any sort of hardship was to drop to our knees and yell "JAMBALAYA!!" at the sky. It's been almost five years and it is still the stuff of my nightmares. I couldn't have asked for a better final boss for this video.

This reminds me when I used to be a hairstylist and would dread the sound of the door opening 5 minutes until closing with someone walking in asking "Do you have time for a quick trim"?
We were a corporate salon and would get into trouble if we refused service before closing hours and there were actually "secret shoppers" who got stylists in deep sh@# simply because they had somewhere to be and knew that "quick trim" would set us back an hour after the service itself, cleaning, waiting to run the night report...etc.
There were also times where that "quick trim" ended up being a speciality cut and/or a blow out on thick hair.
Please if you can avoid it at all costs never go into an establishment for a service right before they close. You never know what they have to do right after work which could include having to pay extra for someone to babysit your child in the evening because all child care centers I'm your surrounding area are only opened 6am-6pm and you only have night shifts.
      Sorry about the rant lol

Apparently jimmy treated everyone so well because he knew the would help him with his extreme phobia.
Apparently he had a recurring nightmare he would be trampled to death by his fans. So to help his anxiety he required that he could see his limo to the side off stage. As long as there was a clear path, he would play no problem. So he treated the roadies well so he could play well.
