Brittney is the kind of channel where you're glad she's doing well and growing but you're also sad because you kinda wanted to keep her to yourself! lmao
I stumbled upon your videos about a week ago. At first I didn't like you, thought you were rude, but the more videos I watched, realized I was totally wrong. You're just real and HONEST. Thank you for making videos from a hair professionals point of view. It helps so much and now you have a new subbie here!
Princess Peach you weren't the only one who experienced this. I watch, get turned off, then I come back when I think she's being nice again. Everybody has a side though, right?
My hair was destroyed from bleaching... First, I got a trim of the worst of the ends, then, I did Mayo and One n Only argon oil masks like every day for a week... After a week of that, I did a protein treatment, then, I went back to only washing a couple times a week and using tons of mayo/olive oil/mtc oil masks, at least every couple days, along with Ion Repair daily conditioner. My hair is now completely healthy. Even AFTER I went and got it bleached (removing red hair dye, so it was an intensive bleach bath and then all over foil bleaching for an hour or so after that... using a bond multiplier in the mix though), it's still completely healthy... I still mayo mask, argon oil mask, and use Ion repairing conditioner to keep it up, but I'll tell you, watching your vids has really helped me learn how to take care of my naturally dry/easily tangled/easy-to-split-the-ends hair.
@@jalexander3987 I just used aPhogee 2 step protein treatment (available at Sally Beauty Supply). MCT oil is Medium Chain Triglicerides oil. You can get MCT oil in most health food stores. Wayne Goss is my go to makeup/skincare channel and Brittney Gray is my new go to hair care channel. Been subbed to Wayne for years but just now found Brittney and I've been binge watching her videos. Thank the lord for the both of them!! 🙏
Thank you for the tips and honesty brittney! No fluff.. I'll definitely try out the recommendations you left in the description. It's BEEN a minute since I've been able to trust what comes out a youtuber's mouth when they speak on products. Also is it possible for your hair to need BOTH?
Hey Brittney - male viewer here. Just wanted to say I like your no-nonsense, no-bullshit approach to the topics you cover. A lot of UA-cam personalities put on this fake, bubbly, "I'm always happy and cheerful" persona and I appreciate the realness you bring. Your personality is refreshing. Please continue to keep it real as your channel grows. :)
You have the absolutely best hair channel. Bless your heart. Thank-you for being so honest about split ends just being needed to be cut off. People put waaay too much trust in what products claim. I love that you truly know hair and are not BSing us.
I'm so glad you mentioned the split ends! So many people around me say that you can seal the split ends with some bottle of cream/conditioner and it is jonestly very annoying ! You can only get rid of them by cutting ! I wish more people realized that..
My hair has been damaged for so long now and never knew what the cause of it was...until I watched this video! I've been to so many hair dressers and they've not once given me any advice or even cut my hair properly. This video was so helpful and I'm so glad I found you! Xx
There are a lot of people on yt who claim to be stylist. But they never make videos like this because they dont know shit. She, however, is legit. This was very educational. Glad i discovered her channel.
You're a no B.S. kinda lady and I don't mind at all one bit of your honesty! Some of my best teachers in school didn't play all the time. Keep up the great work! 🖒❤
I love how brutally honest you are with your advice. I recently got my hair chopped off because of damage, but I know in the long run it will make it better.
I love your honesty!! Thanks Brittney for always telling us the truth. I don’t care if people thinks you are a tad blunt but I love how direct you are. You don’t sugarcoat things and always makes me wanna learn more about how to maintain my hair better. You tell us what other hairstylist wouldn’t. You keep us in the light. Keep doing what you do girl! Much love!! 😘 God bless you😊 I hope one day you will actually do a video on the authentic and fake olaplex if there’s such a thing because I actually bought one that’s quite watery and runny and the authentic one I saw was creamy. I felt cheated. Thanks
My hair was damaged due to being anemic. I had waist length hair and I had to cut off about 4 inches. I tried olaplex and my hair instantly felt thicker and stronger.
Hey Brittney! I was totally that person who refused to get a trim/haircut! I believed it would not help with my hair growth that I so desperately was working towards. You were the one who I trusted and convinced me that my ends were in fact damaged, were not able to be "mended" and needed a clean up. My hair(although now shorter) feels soooo much healthier and alive! Thank you for sharing our expert advice, I am so grateful for it!
I had damaged hair that was an inch or to longer that where the straps of the bra are. It was sooo damaged from cemicals and heat, it was sooo dry, there was no point in keeping that lenght because it didn't look healthy. I told several people that I'm going to get my hair cut and all said "noo it's so long you'll regret it" Anyway I cut off half of my hair, now it's shoulder lenght and looks so shiny and healthy !🤩 I get compliment how soft it is. And now I never use heat on it and I wont color it. It will grow out and it will be amazing!😍 And I also started to take hair vitamins and I make sure not to put it in a bun bekause my hair is so fragile. Basicly I restarted my hair game😄
Yes Girl! tell it like it is!! Im sick of people beating around the bush when it comes to damaged hair. Its either healthy or its not, the in between is not necessary. and thanks for the links!!
I'm a guy with naturally curly African American hair. And, while I can't relate to most of the hair stuff you discuss, you make it super interesting to learn about!
I had really white hair when I was a lot younger, but eventually my hair died, it went all fluffy and felt like cotton. It was so dead lol. I didn't have much knowledge back then, so Everytime I did my hair, I was dying the lot instead of just my roots. Fortunately, I didn't get a huge chop or anything. I had a trim of the dead bits and I gradually dyed my hair dark. My hair eventually was healthy again and it has been since. I'm actually lightening my hair this week, but I have the proper knowledge now to know what to do and how to take care of lightened hair 😊 Love these videos! Anything that's teaching us how things are done properly with hair, is great!
This video saved my life! My hair is frizzy and dry because of chemical dyes and I always thought it was that and a mixture of my texture being curly and thick. I use moisturizing product like it’s my job and it wasn’t working but now I realize I need protein. Thank you!!
I am so happy I've found your channel. You made me actually pay more attention to my hair and love it more! I got tired of my hair, didn't know what to do with it. But you really inspire me to love my hair, because it CAN be better. THANK YOU. LUVS! ♡
I used to get highlights every 4/5 weeks years ago, I straightened my hair everyday and I washed it pretty much everyday. It was a tad bit longer than yours and all I wanted was long hair but it was so unhealthy and the ends kept breaking. Fast forward to now, I wash my hair every 3/4 days, I don't use any sort of heat on my hair anymore and it has never been stronger. My hair is bleached and still in a better condition than other peoples hair who haven't colored it. I'm so glad I listened to my hair dresser back then and stopped fucking up my hair.
Thanks for sharing this! Knowing the difference between when to use moisture treatment and when a protein one really makes a difference! I have thick, coarse, regularly colored and recently bleached hair and knowing all this really helped me learn to "listen" to my hair and know what to use on it. Cheers!
I love your channel so much because you are very blunt and straight to the point when you give your information. This video helped me realize my hair really needs moisture. I've bleached it once and it damaged my hair so I cut it short (not too short) and I also love dying my hair. I started using deep conditioner to help it. Thanks for recommending the products for us I'll definitely check them out!
Great vid. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us. My hair has improved tremendously after incorporating Olaplex along with protein treatments and moisture treatments. I find keratin treatments help with keeping my hair in good condition as well.
Thank you so much for always being so honest. I can't wait to try these moisturizing treatments! And thank you for showing how to tell what kind of treatment my hair needs!!! So helpful! Love seeing your channel and subscriber base growing! You deserve everything great in this world, girl!
Hi Brittney, Thank you for all your informative videos. I don’t usually go to hairdressers because my hair has been so damaged in the past, that I decided to learn, treat and diy as much as I can. I have wavy/curly hair and my hair has never been so long, so healthy and so beautiful as it is now, since I have been treating it, and I am 41:) I trim ends every 2 months, I moisturize every week, I use olaplaex before I do anything (meaning dye my grey hair) and I have waist long hair. I even permed my hair at the ends (very 6 month to 1 year or even more) to define my natural curls and girl, my hair is as beautiful as baby hair :) I learn the lesson to never go to a hairdresser with a bad hair, as many hair dressers really have bad hair (not you though your hair is beautiful and shiny :) Also in here, (I live in Portugal) many people just don’t know how to treat, cut, and style curly hair, they just do it as if it was straight hair and always straighten at the end of the session. My I hate that! I love my curls! I want to define them and own them :)
Omg!!! You are the freakin hair profit. I will follow you for life girl. Love love love your channel. So glad I found you. Seriously the most get to the point truth I’ve seen on UA-cam so far. ❤️❤️❤️
True story. I've been wanting to grow my hair out but the ends were damaged from having it bleached. Last time I went to the salon i just went ahead and had over 3 inches cut off and it feels so much better now.
I love your channel and your videos so much, wish I lived in Cali so I could get my hair done from you but keep doing what your doing , you’re killing it💛
I have to say after watching you for awhile you've talked me into going to the salon for my first hair cut. Because I've had bad experiences since i was little so I'm going to the ulta salon since it's the most accessible to me without going to the flea market where the bad experiences happened. Earlier this year I did a relaxer that went terribly wrong and I had to cut off what couldn't be saved in that moment cause it was so bad and I just conditioned my hair everyday til it went back to as "normal" not that it's grown out I'm ready to have what I messed up fixed by a professional and that's all thanks to you cause if I didn't find you I wouldn't be going. I mean I gave up relaxers but my hair would be uneven for a long time.
Hey Brittney! I looove your videos!!!! I like how you're always honest to us no matter what. Could you possibly do a video about colored hair like crazy colors such as purple, pink, blue, etc, and how to maintain it! Thank youuu for your honesty!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hey I was wondering what your opinion is on the sugar hair bear gummies that I have been seeing all over Instagram. Do you think they actually work or do you think is just a waist of money? Love your videos 😊
Mine is sooooooo damaged and it makes me cry more often than I would like to admit lol. The only thing I can do is continue the masks, trim, trim, trim and wait it out. Never touch box dye, people! ): thank you for the tips!
Even when my hair was past my waist, it needed a monthly trim to get rid of damage. It hit a point where it couldn't grow any longer before the breakage became too much, and I conditioned the heck out of it. Much as it sucks, hair is like your nails: long or short, they *will* get worn and need maintenance. Also, I went from dye to natural color to dye again in school. Dying changed the softness/oiliness of my hair, the dry time, and the amount of heat it could take. I had to throw out good bottles of shampoo because it changed the composition so much that the best thing for me became the worst.
What do you recommend a person to do as 'regular maintenance'? If my hair is the type to 'wear and tear'...no heat damage, no chemical, and keep up with protein and moisture treatments. But I would like a shinier appearance and a healthier look in general.
This is a very pretty look for you, thumbs up on your look alone...you are always soooo informative and I appreciate that. I just wish I was closer to your salon so you could work on my hair.
Hi, Brittney, great video as always! I've been running into some info about how damaged hair can't be repaired and all the products really do is make it seem like the hair is doing better. Personally, I don't believe this, because my hair has really come a long way since I've started treating it. My question is - what's your take on this? Clearly you recommend methods of treatment in this video, but I really want to hear your opinion on this subject. Is repairing damaged hair really a "hair industry lie"?
Hi, new to the channel and love it 😊. I was wondering, what is your opinion on some of these new pigmented conditioners, like Overtone? I've seen ads for them floating around Instagram, and I'm pretty skeptical. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be like dye, or if they're more like toning conditioners.
Hi Brittney, I just found your channel and after a few videos I'm already addicted! So before I go watch the rest lol...I have a question. I hear a lot of people say they have to wash their more often because it gets greasy but mine NEVER does and never has. So on one hand that's convenient, but it's obviously contributing to my hair being dry and not in its healthiest state. The longest I've gone was I think like 7 days without washing, but I'm pretty sure I probably could go weeks and my scalp wouldn't get oily. So, am I missing/lacking something in my diet maybe? I know I really need to drink more water, what's new. But anything else? Thanks!!
Could you do a series where you talk about your favorite products (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) for all hair types? I have such stingy hair lately and I'm just dying to hear a professional like yourself share opinions on actual products! Thank you!
Wow...you're channel went Platinum Blond after that hair hack video (almost a million views). Nice work Brittney...I've been with you since your OLD channel BrittneyWins so you know I've seen you're growth as a stylist and am happy for you.
I really like that color on your skin tone it really brings it out very nicely I don't know if it's a dress or a top I love your videos and I take all your advice that you give I've been watching them.
This was a very helpful video. I'm white and Scottish and have had my hair relaxed since I was about 8 or 9 and recently iv lost about half of my thickness (people still think I have very thick hair but it's not what I used to have) it's also not growing in quite so curly anymore and all the relaxed ends are breaking off I haven't relaxed it for well over a year now maybe close to 2
I'm glad u made this video. I am one of those that has over processed my hair going from dark brown to blonde. I do get it trimmed and I bought trinity protein treatment. My hair used to be long and now it's above my shoulders. It's been 2 months since I did anything to it. How long does it usually take for hair to be able to be chemically processed again? I also use amla and coconut oil on my hair. And, is it true that adding coconut oils to chemical processes helps to prevent damage?
Aaaaaah your hair style is gorgeous and you look so professional on this video. Love ya since your Indian Summer video that I used to love and miss very much :)

Hey Brittney! I looove your videos!!!! I like how you're always honest to us no matter what. Could you possibly do a video about colored hair like crazy colors such as purple, pink, blue, etc, and how to maintain it! Thank youuu for your honesty!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
YES!!!!
I had to throw out good bottles of shampoo because it changed the composition so much that the best thing for me became the worst.
hey brittany, ive watched your videos and i love them. are you hispanic/black? or just very tanned?
I loveee your videos Brittney! They're so informative and you get right to the point. Keep up the good work. Spread that knowledge girl 😉
Who's over here pulling a hair out? I need hydration. Had my color stripped a month ago. Thanks Brittney! x
Yessss, I was hoping for a video like this! My hair has become more "elastic" after bleaching, I think I'll definitely try your tips!
Currently going through this rn how long did it take for your hair to be okay again?
New subscriber! I love everything about your videos! Your honesty, empowerment to others, and overall hair knowledge. ❤️
What do you recommend a person to do as 'regular maintenance'? If my hair is the type to 'wear and tear'...no heat damage, no chemical, and keep up with protein and moisture treatments. But I would like a shinier appearance and a healthier look in general.
haircut every 3 months I'll make a video about basic haircare
Get a glaze treatment. It seals the hair cuticle and makes the hair soooo shiny and soft.
Hey Brittney. Great videos! Find I'm learning so much from your videos while being entertained. Oh and your very concise too.
Your videos are SOOO informative! I rarely ever watch entire UA-cam videos but I'm just drawn to yours for some reason...
This is a very pretty look for you, thumbs up on your look alone...you are always soooo informative and I appreciate that. I just wish I was closer to your salon so you could work on my hair.
Thank you for being honest. That is what I am looking for when it comes to hair care reality.
Very informative, thank you for your educated take on this crucial situation!!! Subscribed!
I've damaged my hair so much from bleach all my curls have gone away. :(
Same;(
How do you feel about Olaplex no. 3 at home treatment? Waste of money or worth investing? Is the result going to be as good as in-salon service?
absolutely worth it
I am so glad I discovered your channel! Thank you so much, Brittney!
Thank you!
What do you think about using horse shampoo to help hair grow faster/ stronger/ healthier?
Wow...you're channel went Platinum Blond after that hair hack video (almost a million views). Nice work Brittney...I've been with you since your OLD channel BrittneyWins so you know I've seen you're growth as a stylist and am happy for you.

So Nexxus has been lying to me about their splint end mender?😂
LOL lying no but temporarily gluing it back together to make it less visible? yes!
what are good deep conditioning treatments ??
Heej Brittney, I lovee your channel. question: What do you think about egg mask for hair?
I really like that color on your skin tone it really brings it out very nicely I don't know if it's a dress or a top I love your videos and I take all your advice that you give I've been watching them.
so wait.. do you recommend olaplaex? I wasn't sure if you liked it..
Love how honest you are!
GIRL! you're growing so fast. I like your channel a lot! I like your no b.s attitude and your also gorgeous
How often do you recommend to use a deep conditioner?
What do you think about Moroccan oil or kerastase products?
I like you! Your video is completely honest. You don't give us false hope. Already subscribed 😁
