Jennifer Micek needing to mention you're a higher class clientele on a UA-cam video while bitching about someone's opinions really means you're high trash.
Salty Slug I’m a nanny to two beautiful little girls and they have restored that faith ;) little ones will always save you no matter what you’re going through❤️ go take a little family member out for ice cream and help create the world you want to see in them💙
Bryndís Bridget Smith I worked as one of those Butchers/Managers in a grocery store, and I could walk any customer to anything they needed, I gave current information and simple requests to the front in (cashiers) because it makes life easier for both parties, but there is no reason for a cashier to know nothing about the products in your store unless your new or the product is brand new. BECAUSE those depts are the reason cashiers have a job, they pay for a position that provides a service but not a profit by any other means than being polite. Customers can walk away from a business for a number of reasons, but the cashier is the last impression of the store and if they are the cause for turning people away (of which only, maybe, 10% will actually say something), that lose in profit comes out of the revenue creating depts. No shit, I have pulled shifts that should have been properly spread across 12 hours in 7 so that managers can make up lost profits, or watched a department completely downsized in order that we maintained the cashiers “because they do such a good job.....”.
Tip Aly it's not that I couldn't help them find it I'd walk them over see i don't have any, apologize and explain how our turck/ordering system works and at the time it was a warehouse outage and they are yelling because it's out of stock is what I meant by my comment not that I don't have time to talk to people but the fact that I don't have it because the warehouse doesn't have it and the supplier might be having issues is not a reason to yell at me.
Things I wish I could tell my hairstylist: "I wish I was as charming/social as you; is it okay if I sit here and not talk? I'd be more than happy to listen though! I'm awkward af."
Once when my stylist was talking to me shyness and introversion came up so I let her know that I have social anxiety and she told me that she hadn’t noticed and since then she just makes small talk for the first couple minutes just to check up on me or get an idea of what I want and then the rest of the service is in silence until its over and she asks me if I like it. I say that if you feel comfortable with your stylist telling them what’s up and being honest is the best. Or letting the person who is making your appointment know that you are a bit awkward and make a note of it so you don’t feel too uncomfortable
Thank you for being blunt and real Brittney. I'm autistic and I need social rules explained to me. It makes perfect sense the way you explained it. Some places (like car dealerships) you have to ask for the discount or else you're going to pay the sticker and you're a sucker. Other places (like Target) they have a UPC code and what it scans as is the price and you aren't going to haggle with some $10 an hour employee who can't do anything about it. Then you go somewhere that isn't a car lot or a store where everything is coded, you go in for a service and you don't know the protocol. So if no one told me I wouldn't know because I don't have that intuition or whatever it is. So thanks, and you can show that guy who interrupted your video my comment so he can know that honesty IS the best policy and sugar coating things hurts people too, in my case it hurts a lot more because I need blunt and factual to understand, I don't get the nuance of sugar coated BS.
Michelle Aldis wow! That was well said. It is rare to have truthful people. I’m that way. I just think coming from a Christ centered loving place is the ultimate way to care for people. Truth and righteousness. God bless you 😊
I love how blunt my autistic daughter is. She’s 5. One time I used hot rollers to curl my hair. I asked her how I looked and she said “What happened?” 😂😂
Don't listen to him. You aren't doing anything but telling the truth!!!! I'm a housekeeper. I'm not going to clean a 10,000 sq ft home for the same price as a 1000 sq ft home. And I actually get that request. The cost of supplies and my TIME aren't the same. Quit being cheap ppl!!! Luxury is luxury.
Honestly I didn't realize lifting my neck was bad for the stylist, I thought I was being helpful, so I won't do that anymore, this is super informative! Thanks!
How do I get a stylist not to small talk with me without being rude? That’s sounds really horrible but Most times when I get my hair done I really don’t want to chat to the stylist, nothing personal to them I just prefer to use that time when I’m getting my hair done to relax I’m kind of introverted.
Robyn Findlay put your phone on your lap where they can see it. After the initial consultation start up a game or start browsing the web. Give them full attention when they are speaking but this should make it clear that you prefer not to talk.
Robyn Findlay I feel you. I'm shy and socially awkward and I'll try to do small talk with my stylist but when getting my hair done I just feel like falling asleep lol
this is really interesting, I have terrible social anxiety and I hate small talk, but I'M the stylist. 😅 I think I'm going to start asking clients if they'd like small talk or not, so it's easier on both of us lol
I've worked on roads and intersections. Please, please, please, drive slowly, give road workers space, and keep your eyes on where you're going instead of what we're doing. We want to go home after work and getting hit by some rubbernecking driver is going to get in the way of that for everybody involved. Do what the flaggers (people holding signs) say, their goal is to help us all go safely about our day as efficiently as possible.
Dakota Stone: She said to post stuff you wish you could tell people. Kinda hard to talk to people when they literally drive around a sign that's supposed to direct them down another road or nearly run you over (if you're lucky). So that's what I did. Not everybody works in customer service. Sorry you somehow didn't get that.
I always worry about you guys when I pass. Instant anxiety! Those signs about not hitting "Daddy" are clever but also extremely anxiety producing! I really wish some cities we're better about diverting traffic, night construction, etc but where I live it's like constant construction at all major intersections all day long.
TwoLaLa oml I work in the restaurant industry too and this is actually so true 😂 the amount of people who don't know/do basic things is insane. Someone has literally ordered an Indian in the restaurant and didn't purchase anything from us apart from a coke
I work in childcare, If I could tell parents anything it would be that the pick-up time is not a suggestion. I have literally had to stay behind 2 hours for children with late parents.
I had to comment because the elementary school threatened me with "calling child services if I was late again". It's not that parents - especially single parents are trying to be difficult. We work. Sometimes we have crappy jobs where we literally are forced to stay later and have unconcerned bosses who don't care or the person who relieves you from your shift doesn't care. After they threatened me, the next time I was running late guess what happened. I sped and got pulled over. Luckily, the cop was more generous than the school and my job.
+Kharizmah I worked at a school where most of the parents have nannies picking up their kids. This woman was paid very good money to show up late every day.
+Kylee ugh, that sucks. You should have reported the nanny to the parents. My situation was relieved once the school started offering a 6to6 program. It was mostly what +Tanya Brown said that gave me the bad flashbacks.
If I'm staring in your eyes while getting my hair washed, I'm thinking, "Yep, still really can't see sh** without my glasses on", and probably don't realize I'm staring at you at all. :D
When someone says your prices are too expensive is like a slap in the face. Like they don't think you're worth a living wage! And you and your hubby are adorbs. Hahaha
I literally watched a woman ask a tattoo artist/shop owner for a discount on her tattoo today. I was in awe. That's just absolutely rude. Customers used to always ask for discounts at Walmart, but that's not nearly as bad since it's a huge corporation. It was just the nerve of this lady to basically tell the man that his time wasn't worth the money. Smh.
Marie Maldonado if a shop is doing a discount don't get work done there... just saying. Any shop worth a damn will be booked enough to not have to give discounts.....
lisa jones I’ve gotten all my tattoos at the same place and they’re all clean, sharp and look like I got them done yesterday when it’s been 4 years and they do discounts around the holidays. My sister gets them done there too 🤷🏻♀️ it’s called Atomic Tattoos.
It hurts less when you let the stylist hold your head in their hands. I held my head up for the longest time during a shampoo till a stylist was like 'I got your head girl don't worry it won't fall off ' lol
Speak up! Hairstylists care for your comfort too, especially if you have back pain, neck pain, bone pain, growing pain. We will go that extra mile for your comfort if it means you don’t have a seizure or anything
I‘m a lawyer. Last weekend someone at a party (not a good friend or anything, I didn’t know the guy!) asked me whether I could look over his new employment contract that he was about to sign. I said „Sure, I usually charge xxx $ an hour, but since you’re a friend‘s friend I‘ll do it for yyy $ an hour. Here‘s my card, give me a call on Monday.“ He looks shocked and tells me: „But you’re not gonna need more than 15 minutes to look at it and tell of there‘s a problem, right???“ 😂 Let me tell you how it works. I‘m a lawyer. I‘m liable for the advice I give to people. A contract - no matter the content - is a very complex structure. It might only take me about 15 minutes to read the actual words, but I need to unterstand it. I need to compare it to what law statutes and courts have said to certain clauses in the past and understand why your employer wants you to sign certain clauses. If I accidentally overlook something and next year you‘ll have a BIG problem because of that, who are you turning to to say „Why haven’t you told me this?“ Because you were only willing to pay me for 15 minutes! So no, I‘m sorry :) Not possible.
As someone who’s been the client (while broke) and the stylist for cheap people, she’s absolutely right. When you’re a stylist, YOU are the one who does the work, YOU are the one who handles how you get your products, YOU have bills to pay, and this is YOUR job therefore everything done is necessary. A person doesn’t HAVE to go to a salon to get their hair done, if I couldn’t afford to get my hair done I won’t get it done and get over it. This is someone’s work and time and passion, no one is entitled to a discount or special offer. Don’t like it? Go somewhere else and mooch off someone else. Become a stylist before you talk shit.
I agree with EVERYTHING you were saying. I work at a Blowout salon and I get at least one client a day that comes in and expects special treatments/discounts and not want to pay for it. “Can you use the olaplex step 2 treatment as my conditioner when you wash?” Sure but that’s a $80 treatment Blowout not a standard wash and style...”well l just want to substitute just the step 2 instead of the regular conditioner I don’t understand why you just can’t use that instead of that”....Cuz it’s 2 different services!!!!! People don’t understand how expensive certain products are to have in a salon and just assuming all services are the same and the product used doesn’t matter. I can’t swap a $40 conditioner with a $80 treatment and charge you the same girl, you tried it.
As someone who works in housekeeping, there are SOOO MANY things I wish hotel guests would know. - FIrst of all, please don't try and make the beds. This can be confusing to us as we find it hard to tell if it's been used or not. If you want to help, strip the bed. - Don't fill the ice trays in the freezer. We have to empty them because we can't be certain that it's water in there. - There are check-in and check-out times for a reason. If a hotel says to check in at 2pm, don't show up at 12:30 and expect your room to be ready. And if they say to check out at 10am, that means 10am at the latest, not an hour after - we need to get in there to clean the room. - If you're staying in a NON-SMOKING HOTEL, DO NOT SMOKE. Not only will you get heavily fined, smoke alarms in hotels are very sensitive and you could cause an unneeded evacuation. - If your room has a kitchen and you've used a lot of dishes, please clean them. We have a short time limit to get all the rooms done and that doesn't allow for washing dirty dishes. Before you leave, put them in the dishwasher (if there is one) and turn it on. - Lastly, take the toilet paper with you. Even if you've only used a third of it, we throw it out and replace it, which I find quite wasteful.
OK the toilet paper thing is not true at every hotel. Some even have the tag about saving trees and just have a spare roll on top. Also - being someone who worked many years in hospitality - there is a high chance there are rooms available prior to check in based on off-peak season and low occupancy. If you're traveling in high peak season than yea--- don't expect early check in. That's why early check-in exists, but don't expect it because the same people who want to check in early love to check out late --- and not the paid late either. I always tell my family when your done with the room, strip off all the sheets and towels and throw them in the corner. We always use the don't clean my room while I'm here. And leave a tip, housekeepers work hard for minimum wage.
Can I just apologize to you directly for being 28 before someone told me I was supposed to leave a tip for housekeeping? I still 20% think my friends may be fucking with me....
oooooh i'm going to tell you a story girl. I am a freelance make up artist, so clients will ask me to come to wherever they are to get their make up done. So this girl has been going back and forth changing her appointment from 5 people to 2 people, back to 5 people and ended up 1 day before the actual date she said, " oh it will be just me." ugh I was pissed cos that is basically me losing client opportunity for that day cos I said no to a few clients because she had booked me at the beginning to do make up for 5 people. So whatever right, I can't be mad now. So AN HOUR before her appointment, she messaged me and said " hey, I feel like having this food (there is this popular restaurant where i I live), can u just grab me 1 and bring it to my hotel. thanks." I was BOILINGGGGG. First of all, f u for changing your booking so many times, and to ask me to get you food, girl, I am NOT your personal assistant. So i declined. i said I can't cos the restaurant is not on the way to her location. So I got to her location which was a hotel 1 hour away from my house, and guess what, she was not there. So I waited and waited, and she was 1 hour late. She arrived, not even an apology or anything, she just said "oh, do you mind if I shower first? I have to shower." So I was like, Ok, but you might be late for your event considering the time is very limited. So she said, "Just do the makeup as fast as you can." I was about to punch this girl right in her tooth. So I waited and waited and this girl shouted from the bathroom and said, " Hey! Can you ask the room service to bring ice to my room?" This little B is treating me like I am her personal assistant. But obv I can't say no, cos all I was doing was playing with my phone waiting for her to be done with her shower. So I did it. I thought to myself, just be patient, she can't possibly make this any worse. OH BUT SHE DID. While I was doing her makeup, she didn't stop snacking on chips! So her face kept on moving around while I was trying not to poke her in the eye while doing her eyeliner, AND ANDDDDD in the middle of the make up session she excuse herself to effing POOP. So that is the craziest story from my experience working as a freelance makeup artist. INSANITY.
First of all you are absolutely BEAUTIFUL second I’m obsessed with your personality. I’ve watched 2 videos and I’m already HOOKED. SUBSCRIBED. I’ve always been interested in hair and makeup and I love seeing the point of view from someone experienced in the industry and being so honest and being yourself.
Dude deadass. My hairdresser is family and she KNOWS I want my hair to be as long as it can be kept after coloring or getting bleached. I tell her every time I just want a TRIM and no joke sometimes I tell her to not even cut it. Every TIME I walk out of there with 3 inches off my head. I know my hair isn’t that damn dead.
i work retail as a sales associate, so heres a few things i wish i could tell customers. i got this all organized too. ETIQUETTE: - if im busy and clearly uninterested, dont try flirting with me and following me or any other employees around the store - there is NO excuse to come into a store minutes before close acting like youre going to take your sweet ass time shopping as if you didnt see the hours posted on the door. theres NO reason we should be ringing families out 30-50 mins after close. call and ask when the store closes, or google it. it takes 2 seconds - for the love of god dont try prying the doors open or try banging on them before the store opens. dont bang on them after we close. dont wait in the parking lot to ask "can you guys just open a register real fast and let me grab something?" ...no..... - we are all tired. my managers are extremely tired. we barely have control over things and we dont get paid much. - if i have to put on a bubbly, perpetually happy retail persona for 8+ hours straight, then please put on a bubbly, perpetually happy customer persona for a few moments - as a cashier, we hate asking if you have a rewards card, if you want to sign up, if you want a warranty, if youve heard of an upcoming sale, if you want this or that. but we have to or corporate takes it out on management, who takes it out on us - if im on the floor, i hate having to bug customers asking if they need help, or want a basket, etc. but we have to or we get in trouble. one time i worked at a place that required workers to check in on customers every 100 seconds. - if a store offers a reward program and its free w no strings attached, pls consider taking a few minutes to sign up. cashiers typically have to do x reward sign ups per shift/week and we can lose hours or get yelled at if we dont meet the numbers. (ive had a manager scream at all of us at 6:45 am to "quit and work at mcdonalds" if we couldnt get sign ups. mind you, the store i was working at is going out of business soon and its really hard to get sign ups) - if theres a chance to complete a survey and the cashier was doing their best, please give a 5/5. where i work now, a 4/5 means failure and no one benefits unless its a 5/5. - we really do appreciate it when someone is kind/empathetic to us directly after dealing with someone rude and nasty. - i cant say this enough: we have NO POWER. complaining, screaming, projecting onto me wont change anything. take it up with someone WAY higher than me. COUPONS: - if the coupon isnt for the store i work at, we cant use it - if the coupon expired 400 years ago, we cant use it - if the coupon has nothing to do with what youre buying, we cant use it ("wow why cant i use this 20% off online orders for an IN STORE PURCHASE?") - if you bring in a purchase thats a year old, asking if you can apply a new coupon to it we most likely cant - dont act like you didnt know the coupon wouldnt work. everyone knows coupons have exclusions listed on the front or back along with an expiration date. - sales associates dont make the coupons, we all know the exclusions/restrictions suck. take it up with corporate. we have literally NO power. ORGANIZATION: - if you pick something up and set it down 3 inches from where the display is instead of simply putting it back, ill haunt you in the afterlife - if you see me meticulously front facing displays to make them pretty and organized, do not come over and start messing everything up without putting anything back - if you decide you dont want something, give it to the cashier. ive seen ppl literally stand in line and shove things into the impulse item section. ffs just hand the goddamn item to me im RIGHT HERE. SALES: - read the damn sign. its as simple as that CHILDREN: - we are not your FUCKING babysitters - keep track of your kids. idk how many times ive seen ppl let them run free as they shopped. if they run around the store breaking things or they get kidnapped thats entirely your problem - why on earth would you let your kid suck on the shopping cart, or on any of the items in the store? why why WHY why - if you let your infant suck and drool all over an item and you have the nerve to HAND IT TO ME WITHOUT WARNING, i really think i reserve the right to knock your teeth out (i really had this shit happen to me and the mother was OFFENDED that i was disgusted and i sanitized my hands immediately and then used a disinfectant wipe to clean the item?? you let me stick my hand in dirty, warm, thick baby drool you vapid bitch) - no customer or worker wants to hear your child/infant screeching at the top of their lungs the entire time youre in the store ok i could keep going but im tired lmao
g rytty We had a pair standing at the front of the store, had already checked out, but refused to leave a space that amplifies sound until their baby had stopped having a full blown meltdown. It wasn’t my kid, and I knew what was wrong - she was fucking tired and over being carted around, take her the fuck home!
i work at tjmaxx and i relate to every single item you posted! i hate asking customers if they want to open up a tjx card and asking them if they need help!
mei so I worked in tiny little ups store and this lady decided to get on her hands and knees on the floor right next to me with her baby, and decided to change its diaper right then and there. She didn't even have a blanket under the baby she just change the diaper, threw the dirty one in our flimsy little trash can and got shit all over the floor. Wtf
I work as a retail pharmacy technician (retail as in your Walgreens or CVS or rite aid pharmacies). It blows my mind when people fight with me over their coupons or sales when I’m not the person putting the sale tags on the floor. I count your pills. Nothing else. Don’t fight with me about what your insurance is charging you. I’m not your insurance. Call them instead of arguing with me If you’re picking up your medication don’t walk away from the register to start a conversation just because I turned around to grab your prescription Don’t be upset we can’t fill your controlled meds a day early every month It’s federal law. Don’t be upset with me that the manufacturer who makes your medication has it on back order. It’s not my fault. There’s so much more. But I’ve lost hope in people with the things they try to argue about
Yaz Valentin are you serious? You’re not in the service industry why are you bitching about your menial pharmacy job making minimum wage? Beauty professionals make unlimited amounts of money, no comparison
YES. At one point i worked at a chain salon where everything was a la carte so it was dirt cheap. I had a mom come in with 4 little boys with bowl cuts and asked what the price of a kids cut was. I told her they were $14 each. She said "Well they only need the perimeter of their hair cut. So around their face, ears, and back. How much does that cost?" Um $14. Thats a haircut. It usually takes me 20 minutes to do a cut and i was the only one there so i would have to do them back to back. Thats over an hour of my time. I know what im worth and im sorry but $56 is crazy cheap for 4 haircuts and im so glad i dont work there anymore.
Ugh yes. When people call it 'just a fringe trim' and you ask them to elaborate they go 'yeah, the fringe and just a bit around the face and an inch off the back' and then they get all huffy when you tell them 'so a haircut?' And they refuse to pay full price.
You are not putting Walmart down, but Walmart is a corporation, not an entrepreneur. People look to be a victim and don't live in reality. If they had to take the time/effort to run their own business, they'd understand that discounts are personally asking for money.
Nina Belle no no no. Part of your job as a stylist is to properly drape the client before beginning. It’s not their job to not get color on themselves, that’s your job.
@@kelleyaccurso1 I agree! I am training to be a stylist and you just have to be super careful not to get color on your guest. A cape and careful color rinsing should prevent bleeding onto shirts.
I wish stylists would be honest like you about if they can do what we want. Good stylists are but as a client you don't always know if they are good until it's too late.
I disagree my ex salon stylist would argue with me with how I wanted my hair cut. It irritated me. I even showed a picture. It’s about the client and what the client wants. They are working for you, you are paying for their service. I don’t need her opinion, I can understand advice, but not opinion.
Advice and opinion are the same thing. You don't want either and that's totally within your rights. Just know that the end result may not look like the result you envisioned due to circumstances beyond your expertise.
Please understand that Stylists are not like other people with regular jobs and regular lunch hours. Most of us work hours and hours on our feet without a bathroom break or food to fuel our busy day. When there is just enough time to scarf down our food, and not be able to enjoy it, we often take any opportunity that comes our way where we can actually sustain our own bodies. I hope this helps you understand and maybe have a little more empathy toward the stylist taking a minute to eat.
danielle rosa you’re so right and i appreciate you. What I was referring to was halfway through, no warning, just stop and eat? Seems unprofessional to me
Oh my god. Thank you. As someone who’s worked both behind the chair and in management at salons for 7+ years these are all questions that blow my mind. Especially when people comment on the price. There is nothing more awkward than checking out a guest and they comment on how expensive it is. Yes it is when you choose a master stylist to do a full head of foils, base color and cut ! Girl.
The guy in the back ground needs to sit down. It needs to be said. People walk all over hair stylists, make up artists, anyone in the service bis!! Like girl no! I will “hook up” my long standing clients or family. It is so frustrating and belittling to be asked to apply a discount when YOUR service costs me money to do for you. I have to sharpen my shears, maintain my clippers, purchase my colors, foils, bleach EVERYTHING. So you go girl. Let those people know. There’s nothing wrong with telling people the real tea about our industry.
Girl i work at a theme park.... People blame me for everything that goes wrong in their vacation and everything wrong in their life. I would want to tell them FOOL I MAKE MINIMUM WAGE DO I LOOK LIKE THE PERSON WHO RUNS THIS PLACE TAKE YOUR COMPLAINTS ELSEWHERE MAGIC ISNT REAL BBBYYYEEEEE
I was working at a beauty/ fragnance counter and that's my list of things customers should know: 1. You need to have realistic expectations - if your skin is so dry, that's basicaly falling off your face, no foundation is gonna fix it. Anti-aging creams cannot undo years of neglecting skincare etc. If I'm telling you, that something is not gonna work, it's not because I'm not qualified, it's because it literally is not gonna work. 2. Some products just DOESN'T EXIST, especially within the cheapest brands. Nobody's gonna make 43 shades of a 2$ foundation. There is no such thing as a black brow gel in any of the drugstore ranges. And it's not my fault. 3. Yes, fragnances are more expensive in the store than online. But at least you can trust us, that's not a fake one and test them. 4. Yes, fragnances are expensive in generall. It's not a necessity. Go complain to Chanel's or Dior's head office, maybe they would care, because I don't.
Affordable brands have really stepped up their game nowadays. Elf cosmetics now have their Flawless Finish foundation with 40 shades, is only $6 and it's a pretty dang good foundation. They're able to sell at this price point this by saving on the gimmicky packaging for their products, over the top ads, campaigns, and sometimes unnecessary marketing -- which is great, in my opinion
I have black brows and hair. People usually ask me what hair color I use and nobody believes I don't die as I am almost 46 and have 6 white hairs. The drama of the black brow gel is real.
When you get the clients who have to tell you they were a hairstylist 30 years ago and how good they were but use box dye and can't sit still in the chair and can't keep their head down in the shampoo bowl. GIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLL WHEN WERE YOU A STYLIST? Lol.
I’m a dog groomer and face similar stuff. People act like I’m personally stealing from them when I have to charge them extra to brush out their completely matted dog. This just in: brushing your dog at home is totally free!!!! You’re paying for what amounts to sometimes hours of my time. At least when dogs bite and stuff, they’re still really cute. I don’t cut people hair for a reason 😂
i get it i was a cosmetologist..... but there were a ton of things i wish i could have told my coworks and most of them centered around being a little nicer and focus less on the beauty outside and more on not being so ugly inside..... im so glad im not in the industry anymore yall are demons
I just want to say that the staring into your eyes might not be on purpose. I probably do that on accident to people (in whatever situation) just because I'm looking through them and not actually paying attention to where I am looking. So, I might be sitting there staring, but caught up in my own thoughts and not realizing that I've spaced out and probably creeped someone out. Lol
I overthink everything. I purposely try not to look at them while getting it washed. You can bet I'm closing my eyes while their playing with my bangs and their crotch is right in front of me 😅
OMG THE DISCOUNT THING. I get so angry when people do that to my mom at her store! They ask for discounts even when she doesn't charge them tax! Especially when it's cheap things. Like we got bills to pay, merchandise to pay for too. But honestly this is why I didn't want to become a hairdresser anymore. I got so tired of everyone at just my mom's store that I can't deal with it anymore. Especially since my area has such cheap people
the only thing i wish i could tell my stylist is "my hair is curly, please don't cut it wet. and if i get my hair washed, don't blow dry it like it's straight hair and then put a texturizing product in it. just give me some moose and a micro fiber towel and lemme scrunch honey, i don't wanna walk out of here with a frizzball afro today" just cut it dry and go with my curl pattern
AnnaBean Go to a Devacut certified stylist!! Devacurl has a tool on their website to find a curly stylist near you. It’s so so much better cutting curly hair dry, it works so much better to shape it properly. Think about it more like shaping a shrub rather than cutting some grass
If you have curly hair, your stylist should know not to put texturizing products in it, it's already texturized. That is, if they were taught that at least.
B.B. they just randomly hack off whatever pieces they think will help it look shaply and nice...but it’s not level or even and you can’t straighten it because it will literally look lopsided and like shit
Speaking of tacky things... don't ask ME as your stylist how much you should tip as I'm ringing you out. Like "oh wow *price* ... hmm what do I tip for that?" or I had a girl a few weeks ago say "so what do people typically tip?" ... that's so awkward and uncomfortable.
People are going to just stare in your eyes brit sorry haha. My husband has a similar color and isn't in a job like yours but people are weird with him all the time because of them. Y'all beautiful eyed people are blessed but get unwanted attention.
I love this cut and color on you. As far as tacky people go, people have NO awareness about what things cost. No matter what field you work in, someone is gonna think they are owed something for free.
I appreciate her honesty and I don't take offense to anything she said. That being said, I feel that if a hairstylist has high prices your services better reflect that price chart. I am willing to pay top dollar if you provide excellent service. Over the years hair styling prices keep increasing but a lot of stylist offer subpar work. The quality has not improved or they are limited in their capabilities. I have seen some stylist that can style but can't cut, can do natural hair but not relaxed hair (or vice versa), some that amazing at coloring but can't style and some stylist that even cause heat damage. Like at this day and age NO PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED STYLIST SHOULD BE CAUSING HEAT DAMAGE TO VIRGIN HAIR!! I am still looking for a natural hairstylist that knows how to cut, color and style. I don't care what they charge I just want someone that knows what they are doing and can offer proof (pictures) before I sit in their chair. If I can find a jack-of-all-trades that knows how to do sew-ins & extensions that would be even better. I shouldn't have to ask someone "OMG where did you get your hair done?!" and they answer they got it done out of town while they were in NY or Cali -_- As a stylist if you specialize in one thing and not another just say that. I should never have to go to another stylist to color correct my hair just because you claim you are a colorist as well but really you don't know what you are doing and just took me for my money.
chellie343 I agree with this completely. I've heard so many horror stories about natural hair girls having relaxers snuck into a blow out or wash and I'm just so over it. The services I expect far go beyond what most high end hairdressers can do. The thing is I would pay someone if I knew they were able to do it. But instead of going in and being disappointed I save my money and not go to the hairdressers because I'm also sure they would rather not have someone request it and they have no faith in them. All service industry prices are rising. If the service is good enough I will pay any amount that's the price of service. But let's not pretend there are hairdressers, nail salons take advantage of people's ignorance and overcharging them 😣😣😣 so I agree 100%
If you can't afford a beauty service, then you probably don't need to be getting it done. As a working professional, I like to look a certain way on my job. That job also makes it so that i can spend x-amount of money on my appearance a month ( a lot). I'm also single, live on my own and have no kids. If you have to ask for a discount on your hair to pay for your car note, then you should probably reevaluate your priorities. Also, a salon is a business. You don't ask for a discount on your groceries, or when you go clothing shopping etc. Salon prices are what they are based on the profit margin. They're not just made up on the spot. AND its pretty much manual labour. Standing on your feet for 4 hours for a $20 blowout, how does that make sense or seem fair to people? Okay, tangent over, but this is one of my pet-peeves lol.
Omg I need to make a video like this, but about wedding cakes! I’m sorry you spent your entire budget on on a dress... not my problem! 😂 or if I order 300 Cupcakes is there a discount? What! That’s more work! Why would it be cheaper?!
Dani Sachs haha reminds me of someone who wanted their portraits. I said 15 min, 5 photos for $50. Which is rather cheap around here...she said oooo can you do 30 min, 10 photos for $45...
I am not gay, a hairdresser, and nor do I go to the hair salon, training for being a hairdresser. Im just a regular guy. But you didn't say nothing wrong, you told the truth. There's no need to be offended the problem is people are tryin to hard to be politically correct or just fair and be people pleasing. This here's what we need I wish we had more people up here on UA-cam or anywhere. Matter fact I just became a subscriber.
Get it gurl with your opinion!!! Lol!!! I'm a hairstylist and you can't even begin to believe the "AMEN!!!" and "HALLELUJAH'S" that were goin on over here while watching this!!!! Lol i love my clients and I know you do, too. But some ppl, namely the ones you're speaking of, just don't even flippin know. SMDH. Lol and they KNOW who they are! 😂thank goodness they're few and far between!! Oh! And p.s. I watched your crazy client chronicles vid the other day and was having a damn panic attack about the girl with the smoking hair😱😱😫😫 lolololol
I'm a makeup artist and I can totally relate lol. I used to work at a makeup store and people just came and ask for a discount like "oh, why don't you have any sales? you should tell your boss to make a discount!" and I was like "woman, do you think I'm the fucking CEO of the company or what?". The thing I hated the most was when people just came and ask for a lipstick "for them" like "you are the professional, you know what is going to look good on me, something trendy", and you are like "oh, well, red is on trend..." "NO! I hate red!" "Well, then pink is always in trend for spring..." "Oh, no, I don't like pink" "Then maybe something nude..." "No, no, I don't like nude lips" and you are just like "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WHAT FROM ME, WOMAN". I whish I could tell them that lol.
Reasons why I'm glad I don't work at Ulta anymore. I was interrupted by another guest to help her pick out a lipstick while I helping someone with skin care. I'm an aesthetician btw. 😒
Yeah, I tried saying that. But what the general public needs to understand is that makeup (same as hairstyle, clothing, and everything) has to be something you feel confortable with. Maybe matte bright red lipstick is on trend, but if you don't feel confortable with it, you're not going to feel pretty even if you look awesome. And some times clients are extremelly rude when you trie to explaine this like "but, ¿what kind of lipsticks do you usually wear?, ¿or what do you like?", saying that you should know by yourself, and that if you don't know what is going to look good on them is because you're not a good professional. People are so anoying lol.
I work in clothing retail. Why do some customers leave the clothes they have tried on and don’t wish to purchase all over the fitting room? That is so rude, and so time consuming for the staff to then clean up. People, don’t be tacky and rude. Put the clothes neatly back on the hangers, zip up the zippers, button the buttons, etc. so the staff can quickly put the clothes back on the floor. Also, please don’t go tearing through the racks when shopping, leaving clothes half off the hangers or on the floor. That is so rude.....the staff has way to much to do then be trailing after you to continually fix your mess. Please show respect for the store and the staff when shopping. I promise you, it will be noticed and appreciated by all. Love this video! Your hair looks amazing!
My biggest pet peeve is someone trying to get free hair or under rate your work, getting $100 for 8 hours of work, your hands and feet hurting the entire time is preposterous. It’s like every hair dresser has their own tricks or style and work to perfect it. Like well I only have $20, okay, get someone else to do it, it’s $20 just for the dye alone, I put my entire heart into my art, and it’s worth it. You have to be true to yourself girl.
At the shampoo bowl I do have a hard time figuring out where to look because it's usually the hairdresser's boobs that are in my line of sight, or the armpit. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm guessing a lot of clients who are staring at your eyes are feeling just as self-conscious and probably lowkey panicking about what they should be doing in that moment. Is it more rude to stare, or to blatantly stare in the opposite direction? I have problem with eye contact rules in general, I have Asperger's and many people have pointed out how rude it is for me to NOT look at them when we're interacting, so now I'm just confused as to the appropriate etiquette. It is overall just an awkward scenario either way, I usually am uncomfortable during this part because it feels too close.
That’s why I don’t go to hair salons. There are hair salons here called Sola Salons and each stylist has a private room. I liked that layout and privacy so your appointment is only you and your hairdresser. But, even after going there a couple times I heard the stylist gossiping about their clients in the break room, so I haven’t been back there either.
it depends on the gossip for me. if it's about life outside the salon, im cool with it, but if they talk shit about other clients' looks then I feel uncomfortable
NO! She's right! Why should she give things away! she had to go to school and all her overhead! She's 100 % right!!!!!! It's not Walmart or anything like that!!!! NO discounts!
Giiiiiirl!!!You are soooo right about the discount bullshit!I pay 50$ for a haircut and style and i leave 10$ tip, soooo 60$ total. When i use to go to hairdressing school we would charge 10$ for cut and style and people would cry that it is too expensive and then leave 0 tip...when they would cry i would tell them to find me ANY salon that would charge 10$ for all that...they would feel stupid and pay the damm 10$!
Ha - in Boston - a cut will cost you $100+ - and that isn't even in the nicer neighborhoods. A friend of mine 2 years ago went to a ritzy salon on a very tony street with a certificate her boyfriend gave her. Haircut and highlights - were $600. Kid you not. That's rent in some parts of the country... Seriously
J Tirado omg thats insane!!I live in Montreal,Canada here its about 160$ for haircut, highlights and styling i tought it was expensive but 600$!!Thats what i paid when i got keratin extensions...
In beauty school I would have people ask OFTEN if their service would be free. Like constantly "you're only students, why are you charging?!" Now at the salon I work at, the cuts start at $30. I answered a call one day of a dude who word for word asked "What's the difference between you and sportscut. Why are you guys more expensive?" Straight up trying to start an argument 😫
I’m glad you did this video because I want to know these things! I appreciate your honesty. I would never ask for a discount because that’s tacky AF. I agree getting your hair done is a total luxury and you should should treat it as such. Ps.Your hair looks gorgeous :)
My husband is a personal fitness trainer and owns his own studio. He has a client that always forgets to bring money to pay him. Then he is always $5 short when he does pay. Then he has to keep a tab of how much he owes. One time, he came for his training session and said he had money but got a haircut and didn’t have enough to pay him. Dude...bring more money!! Totally get it!!
Omg, your husband couldn't get what your point was, lol. I understood completely and agree with you. He should be proud that you are honest and true to yourself instead of worrying about stepping on someone's toes or hurting someone's feelings. What kind of life are you living if you always care about what other people think? Great video
Ahhw E-Any -- I was thinking she had to be a fire sign too, but she's actually a Cancer. Though you never really know if a person acts the exact same way off camera.
I love that you kept in that discussion with your partner! Those are real conversations that need to be heard. 😊 I’m a wedding/portrait photographer and we get asked all the time if we could lower our prices. It’s definitely made ME more aware of what I’m asking of people I do business with. 💕
I am a young make stylist and I COMPLETELY lived for this video, it was so true, people think because I'm young my prices shouldn't be where they are and some folks think be cause they are my "friend" I should give out friend discounts but get upset when I have to gather them and get them together. Like their favorite line "I know people who charge less" well sweetheart I have client who pay MORE, AND tip, but anywho I love your personality and you have gained yourself a new subbie !😘
I like that you are really honest.... dealing w the public and something as personal as their hair I don’t know how you keep your sanity in dealing w people and their unrealistic expectations!
This video was not offensive at all. I totally agree with everything you said in the video especially when you talked about getting discounts. I am a freelance writer , and it annoys the hell out of me when people ask for a discount. I take the time to provide a quality of service, so I deserve to be compensated properly. BTW your hair looks nice.
Here’s what I wish my hairdresser knew... Please stop trying to have a conversation with me when you’re blow drying my hair on full blast... I can’t hear you! Hahaha
The last video I watched I was thinking. "She's kinda off-putting, why am I watching so many of her videos?" and I realized it's because even though you don't sugar coat it, you do have valuable information. I'm 9 seconds into this video and oh boy this is gonna get spicy! :-D This is what I do, I make a comment (for your engagement at the beginning of the video, then have to edit or leave extra comments, when you say something interesting. I might as well subscribe, I clearly like this kind of treatment. I'm a douche bag, but I'm just trying to be a supportive viewer!
I had a client who had a grown out bob, said she wanted it all one length for low maintenance. I cut that, and then she said she wants a bob back. I told her I would charge for another haircut and she freaked out. I’m going to relate to all of these 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 so glad you’re saying them!
Whitney Jones I most of the time wouldn’t. But after taking 30 minutes to decide on top of getting an even all over cut from a layered bob. I had my limits. She was a coupon client. lol.
Respect me and my time or I don’t want you as a client. If you come half an hour late even if I can still do your hair- I won’t. Because I feel it’s disrespectful. My time is my money. And call if you can’t make your appointment. There are many people who wanted that spot who are probably on a cancellation list and I can’t call them if I still think you’re coming.
Btw I can relate to the discount thing too. I work clothing retail and people often ask if I could give them a discount using my discound card, and get offended when I say I can't. I mean.. If I gave discount from my card to every client who asks, I'd be left without any discounts for products I'd like to buy myself
Linda I.F. Never heard of customers asking to use the employees discount card before, that’s insane! The most ppl haggle us about getting discounts for is if they want to buy a damaged item.
Every job I've had has made me lose faith in humanity.

Jennifer Micek needing to mention you're a higher class clientele on a UA-cam video while bitching about someone's opinions really means you're high trash.

‘Getting your hair done at a salon is a luxury’ CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH THANK YOU!!!!!!
I work at a grocery store and I am NOT the baker, butcher, or a farmer. It's not my fault you can't find your gluten free bread Barbra.
Bryndís Bridget Smith ME TOO! GURL PREACH💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️
Or when something is out of stock and they blame it on you...xD
Haha actually made me giggle
Things I wish I could tell my hairstylist: "I wish I was as charming/social as you; is it okay if I sit here and not talk? I'd be more than happy to listen though! I'm awkward af."
Yesss, yes yes. Same
Once when my stylist was talking to me shyness and introversion came up so I let her know that I have social anxiety and she told me that she hadn’t noticed and since then she just makes small talk for the first couple minutes just to check up on me or get an idea of what I want and then the rest of the service is in silence until its over and she asks me if I like it.
I say that if you feel comfortable with your stylist telling them what’s up and being honest is the best. Or letting the person who is making your appointment know that you are a bit awkward and make a note of it so you don’t feel too uncomfortable
We should match your energy
God bless you 😊
Neurotypical folks could really learn a thing or two from neurodiverse folks.
I love how blunt my autistic daughter is. She’s 5. One time I used hot rollers to curl my hair. I asked her how I looked and she said “What happened?” 😂😂
"It is not a life necessity to have a head full of foil highlights"

well, actually...lol.
@@elijames7742 true words lol

I know... but when u hve so little money and u can almost never do anything fun, it gets to you...
I'm totally not offended! Makes total sense! If I can't afford a salon I will either wait or go somewhere cheaper. Simple.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Don't listen to him. You aren't doing anything but telling the truth!!!! I'm a housekeeper. I'm not going to clean a 10,000 sq ft home for the same price as a 1000 sq ft home. And I actually get that request. The cost of supplies and my TIME aren't the same. Quit being cheap ppl!!! Luxury is luxury.
Honestly I didn't realize lifting my neck was bad for the stylist, I thought I was being helpful, so I won't do that anymore, this is super informative! Thanks!
thekelseyish U still can, just not all the way up....
Shampoo bowl etiquette: PLEASE DO NOT MOAN WHILE I SHAMPOO YOUR HAIR
Taylor Kathlynn 😂
Oops! I think I've done that lol it feels so nice! I don't full on moan though just make subtle sounds like when something tastes good.
oh my god... the awkwardness...
Lol. I take that as a compliment lol
Hahahaha 😂
Anybody who is "offended" is a perpetrator of the aforementioned crimes. Brittney you said everything just right! Be truthful.
NYCglt ?57
I agree
How do I get a stylist not to small talk with me without being rude? That’s sounds really horrible but Most times when I get my hair done I really don’t want to chat to the stylist, nothing personal to them I just prefer to use that time when I’m getting my hair done to relax I’m kind of introverted.
Robyn Findlay put your phone on your lap where they can see it. After the initial consultation start up a game or start browsing the web. Give them full attention when they are speaking but this should make it clear that you prefer not to talk.
just tell them you would prefer to not have a conversation, a lot of people use getting their hair done as their alone time, we're not offended :)
Yes!! Exactly!
I'm so sorry you have to deal with people like this
We work in the restaurant industry and let’s just say a LOT of people lack proper restaurant etiquette lol
TwoLaLa oml I work in the restaurant industry too and this is actually so true 😂 the amount of people who don't know/do basic things is insane. Someone has literally ordered an Indian in the restaurant and didn't purchase anything from us apart from a coke
AGREED! I work at a restaurant and customers can be so RUDE!
I work in a restaurant too... my guest are mostly very nice and very polite apart from a few weird people.
Yaaaaaaaaaas
Yessssss
Like how do you not even have manner?
I work in childcare, If I could tell parents anything it would be that the pick-up time is not a suggestion. I have literally had to stay behind 2 hours for children with late parents.
Kylee J what! That's sad! Come on now...some people. I don't get it...
Like this isn't friggin doggy daycare...and I'd be pissed when people did that with their dogs too! (I work as a dog groomer)
Smh.
CRINGE!
I was a tattoo artist and that shit happened EVERYDAY. And people ARGUE with you about it and try to insult your skill to try to get a hook up. Nahh
Sometimes tattoo shops do have discounts though
Marie Maldonado if a shop is doing a discount don't get work done there... just saying. Any shop worth a damn will be booked enough to not have to give discounts.....
lisa jones I’ve gotten all my tattoos at the same place and they’re all clean, sharp and look like I got them done yesterday when it’s been 4 years and they do discounts around the holidays. My sister gets them done there too 🤷🏻♀️ it’s called Atomic Tattoos.
When I lift my head up at the shampoo bowl it may be because its so uncomfortable and making my neck sore.
SAME. I don't know if it's the way i sat in it or what but every time I get my hair washed, my neck seriously hurts.
Here‘s my card, give me a call on Monday.“ He looks shocked and tells me: „But you’re not gonna need more than 15 minutes to look at it and tell of there‘s a problem, right???“ 😂
Let me tell you how it works.
Omg girl I am living for this side convo you're having with your man. 😂
"Your gonna offend a LOT of people" LOOL Sounds just like my man butting in when im speakingg lmao
Miss54321GOOO oh wow, the last tip is very resourceful. I will remember that!
Miss54321GOOO thanks for the tips
I did not know about the toilet paper thing wow!
INSANITY.
shirleen t Girl that's terrible I do hair and makeup too ,that is some serious bullshit btw your makeup is on point girl!
Jloofaz thank you so much 💖💖💖 i appreciate it. Yes tht client was truly the worstt 😂😂😂
shirleen t No problem and yea ugh that client frustrates me.
My god people can be so ungrateful and rude. Don’t waste your time with people like that girl! X
shirleen t I wish this is fake!! Cuz it’s horrible
One thing I'd like to say to a few hairdressers is.. SINCE WHEN IS 3 INCHES, 8 ALL OF A SUDDEN?
"A trim is a cut."
Well damn, that explains why y'all keep chopping all my hair off when I ask for a trim. 💇
Nadia Kismet RIGHT? Lmao, hate that
Lol, I have ass length hair, all my hairdressers are scared to cut my hair. So I always end up with longer hair than I want in the end.
Not every hair dresser does that
This comment!!!! Yes 🤦♀️💚
I don’t understand how people would expect a free haircut...
"I love Walmart. I got a futon from Walmart one time!" 😂😂😂 I don't know why I laughed so hard at that. I think it was the "one time" part of it. Lol.
Shakira Jones Haha so did I!!
same!! lmao
Same!
Lol I laughed at this too!! Idk why; it just popped out
I was laughing so hard 😂😂😂
dude in the back must be a discount king. he’s so offended lol
Lmao
Also, love the argument at the end. You made total sense and I love your strength.
i work retail as a sales associate, so heres a few things i wish i could tell customers. i got this all organized too.
ETIQUETTE:
- if im busy and clearly uninterested, dont try flirting with me and following me or any other employees around the store
- there is NO excuse to come into a store minutes before close acting like youre going to take your sweet ass time shopping as if you didnt see the hours posted on the door. theres NO reason we should be ringing families out 30-50 mins after close. call and ask when the store closes, or google it. it takes 2 seconds
- for the love of god dont try prying the doors open or try banging on them before the store opens. dont bang on them after we close. dont wait in the parking lot to ask "can you guys just open a register real fast and let me grab something?" ...no.....
- we are all tired. my managers are extremely tired. we barely have control over things and we dont get paid much.
- if i have to put on a bubbly, perpetually happy retail persona for 8+ hours straight, then please put on a bubbly, perpetually happy customer persona for a few moments
- as a cashier, we hate asking if you have a rewards card, if you want to sign up, if you want a warranty, if youve heard of an upcoming sale, if you want this or that. but we have to or corporate takes it out on management, who takes it out on us
- if im on the floor, i hate having to bug customers asking if they need help, or want a basket, etc. but we have to or we get in trouble. one time i worked at a place that required workers to check in on customers every 100 seconds.
- if a store offers a reward program and its free w no strings attached, pls consider taking a few minutes to sign up. cashiers typically have to do x reward sign ups per shift/week and we can lose hours or get yelled at if we dont meet the numbers. (ive had a manager scream at all of us at 6:45 am to "quit and work at mcdonalds" if we couldnt get sign ups. mind you, the store i was working at is going out of business soon and its really hard to get sign ups)
- if theres a chance to complete a survey and the cashier was doing their best, please give a 5/5. where i work now, a 4/5 means failure and no one benefits unless its a 5/5.
- we really do appreciate it when someone is kind/empathetic to us directly after dealing with someone rude and nasty.
- i cant say this enough: we have NO POWER. complaining, screaming, projecting onto me wont change anything. take it up with someone WAY higher than me.
COUPONS:
- if the coupon isnt for the store i work at, we cant use it
- if the coupon expired 400 years ago, we cant use it
- if the coupon has nothing to do with what youre buying, we cant use it ("wow why cant i use this 20% off online orders for an IN STORE PURCHASE?")
- if you bring in a purchase thats a year old, asking if you can apply a new coupon to it we most likely cant
- dont act like you didnt know the coupon wouldnt work. everyone knows coupons have exclusions listed on the front or back along with an expiration date.
- sales associates dont make the coupons, we all know the exclusions/restrictions suck. take it up with corporate. we have literally NO power.
ORGANIZATION:
- if you pick something up and set it down 3 inches from where the display is instead of simply putting it back, ill haunt you in the afterlife
- if you see me meticulously front facing displays to make them pretty and organized, do not come over and start messing everything up without putting anything back
- if you decide you dont want something, give it to the cashier. ive seen ppl literally stand in line and shove things into the impulse item section. ffs just hand the goddamn item to me im RIGHT HERE.
SALES:
- read the damn sign. its as simple as that
CHILDREN:
- we are not your FUCKING babysitters
- keep track of your kids. idk how many times ive seen ppl let them run free as they shopped. if they run around the store breaking things or they get kidnapped thats entirely your problem
- why on earth would you let your kid suck on the shopping cart, or on any of the items in the store? why why WHY why
- if you let your infant suck and drool all over an item and you have the nerve to HAND IT TO ME WITHOUT WARNING, i really think i reserve the right to knock your teeth out (i really had this shit happen to me and the mother was OFFENDED that i was disgusted and i sanitized my hands immediately and then used a disinfectant wipe to clean the item?? you let me stick my hand in dirty, warm, thick baby drool you vapid bitch)
- no customer or worker wants to hear your child/infant screeching at the top of their lungs the entire time youre in the store
ok i could keep going but im tired lmao
g rytty We had a pair standing at the front of the store, had already checked out, but refused to leave a space that amplifies sound until their baby had stopped having a full blown meltdown. It wasn’t my kid, and I knew what was wrong - she was fucking tired and over being carted around, take her the fuck home!
meiori I feel you sooooo much, I also work in retail, if there's not at least three tantrums it's not a normal day.
i work at tjmaxx and i relate to every single item you posted! i hate asking customers if they want to open up a tjx card and asking them if they need help!
mei so I worked in tiny little ups store and this lady decided to get on her hands and knees on the floor right next to me with her baby, and decided to change its diaper right then and there. She didn't even have a blanket under the baby she just change the diaper, threw the dirty one in our flimsy little trash can and got shit all over the floor. Wtf
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO im sick omg...
This shouldn't offend anyone. Lol I'm only a customer but this just makes sense. Thanks for the shampoo bowl tip.
Ditto. This sister and others with their own businesses are tryna make a living just like the rest of us. I ain't mad at her.
Call them instead of arguing with me
If you’re picking up your medication don’t walk away from the register to start a conversation just because I turned around to grab your prescription
Don’t be upset we can’t fill your controlled meds a day early every month It’s federal law.
Raquelle Rose umm.... she literally said in the video to comment what you wish you could tell customers or clients at your job.
Nyssa Swearingen-Mallada How much of that did you get to keep? And how much went back to the corporation you worked for?
Okkkkkk I agree with all of these!!! You missed one though! IF YOUR GETTING YOUR HAIR DONE, especially red, DONT WEAR WHITE!!!!
Nina Belle no no no. Part of your job as a stylist is to properly drape the client before beginning. It’s not their job to not get color on themselves, that’s your job.
@@kelleyaccurso1 i think she means afterwards maybe the colour even after being washed might rub off on a white shirt.
I would think that was obvious.🤷🏼♀️
@@kelleyaccurso1 I agree! I am training to be a stylist and you just have to be super careful not to get color on your guest. A cape and careful color rinsing should prevent bleeding onto shirts.
I wish stylists would be honest like you about if they can do what we want. Good stylists are but as a client you don't always know if they are good until it's too late.
I had to cut all my hair off because of a bad hairdresser that badly bleached my hair
But my hair is growing again thank god
I disagree my ex salon stylist would argue with me with how I wanted my hair cut. It irritated me. I even showed a picture. It’s about the client and what the client wants. They are working for you, you are paying for their service. I don’t need her opinion, I can understand advice, but not opinion.
Advice and opinion are the same thing. You don't want either and that's totally within your rights. Just know that the end result may not look like the result you envisioned due to circumstances beyond your expertise.
As a client, I can’t stand when i’m getting a physical service (nails, hair, spa) and the worker leaves to eat, mid service.
I hope this helps you understand and maybe have a little more empathy toward the stylist taking a minute to eat.
there’s plenty of times i don’t get a sit down lunch and have to take bites here and there between clients
danielle rosa you’re so right and i appreciate you. What I was referring to was halfway through, no warning, just stop and eat? Seems unprofessional to me
Natalie Potts i truly do! But with no notice, your service provider leaves you? Not quite the same thing as a mid break with the client being aware
Oh my god.
Briana Zapien 😶🤣😂😂😂👏
Yes!!!!!. Tell me about it👌🏽
I was working at a beauty/ fragnance counter and that's my list of things customers should know:
I don’t cut people hair for a reason 😂
exactly. Detangling matted hair = more time which is more money you could've made on another client. time = money. period.
i get it i was a cosmetologist..... but there were a ton of things i wish i could have told my coworks and most of them centered around being a little nicer and focus less on the beauty outside and more on not being so ugly inside..... im so glad im not in the industry anymore yall are demons
oh n they prob staring into ur eyes thinking ur eyes are so nice lmao that color tho
Lana DelGay but we’re demons.....
Clients who come into the salon and say "Do whatever you think is best." so you do whatever and they get upset over it 🙄😂
Rebecca K that's me😂😂😂😂 but it always turn out great bc my hairdresser is wonderful😍🙌👑
I just ask them because hairdressers usually know what they're doing and I don't have any ideas
Giving Vanessa Williams 2017 vibes
I'm work in makeup. My favorite request is, " I want a full coverage foundation, but I don't want it to look like I'm wearing anything." 🤨
I am not a hairstylist but I totally agree with everything you said. Some people are sooo rude and expext service to be free..
Lol
Golden Carter 😂😂😂😂 me too
I overthink everything. I purposely try not to look at them while getting it washed. You can bet I'm closing my eyes while their playing with my bangs and their crotch is right in front of me 😅
Stephanie Weston yep... I close my eyes too 😂😂. But I understand the OP's point, I space out when I'm trying to think figure out my problems.
Psychologists would make so much money, if they had a side job as a hairdresser 😂
Just say exactly what u said to her!
If you have curly hair, your stylist should know not to put texturizing products in it, it's already texturized. That is, if they were taught that at least.
SO MUCH YES!
B.B. they just randomly hack off whatever pieces they think will help it look shaply and nice...but it’s not level or even and you can’t straighten it because it will literally look lopsided and like shit
Thank you for being yourself and being honest.
People are going to just stare in your eyes brit sorry haha. My husband has a similar color and isn't in a job like yours but people are weird with him all the time because of them. Y'all beautiful eyed people are blessed but get unwanted attention.
Yes stand up for yourself and your work! I respect it!
I love this cut and color on you. As far as tacky people go, people have NO awareness about what things cost. No matter what field you work in, someone is gonna think they are owed something for free.
Girl I don’t look people in the eyes often, but yours are so gorgeous i couldn’t not look.
Kamiliange guay gurlllll yes she's got the prettiest eyes everrr
Kamiliange guay yeah I am thinking they just do it because her eyes are just so pretty haha. I probably would too.
We love 💖 you being honest and truthful. That’s why we subscribe to you channel honey xx
Just wondering would you mind reacting to some videos of people doing their own hair gone wrong or hair makeovers?
Kstepballa i think she already did!
Send me videos!
Shit. I'd watch the hell out of that. 😂😂😂
Reaction videos are so stupid .. youre gonna sit there and watch someone react to something. Weird.
But let's not pretend there are hairdressers, nail salons take advantage of people's ignorance and overcharging them 😣😣😣 so I agree 100%
chellie343 Amen!!!!
Sounded very sassy but I’m honestly grateful for the truth telling. Opens my eyes to better understand.
Christelle Ashley Sangrado preach
Your man offended because he low key one of those people
Omg I need to make a video like this, but about wedding cakes!
I love the short hair on you!
1. Hair is poppin!
2. Preach girl, and yes! begging for a discount on non essential services is rude lol and I ain't even a stylist!
Retail especially dressing room when people walk out and leave all the clothes all on the floor. We judge you . It's nasty
09876vickii SO NASTY
Emili Lucia right!!!! Them have the audacity to smile when they leave
yessss HATEDDD this
09876vickii yesssss!
JPA yeeessss giiiiiiirl!!!!!!
Your hair looks sophisticated and classy
I'm sorry for you. Maybe you should say that "Hey, I'm professional artist. Just trust me the result will be gourgeaus."
I don’t think I’ve ever related more to a thumbnail
SAME
What’s a thumbnail?
PaperPriest just close your eyes. Aspie here and it spares all involved awkwardness.
I always close my eyes
Hi my son has Asperger's too! You are SO right about the boob thing....I just close my eyes
I close my eyes
I just close my eyes
I'm sorry but your man was annoying tf out of me I was like let the girl talk lol
I hate when my hairdresser gossips like I feel like it’s so unprofessional!!!
Niyah Nicole girl that's the best part of the experience. Smh
Niyah I know right!!?
That’s why I don’t go to hair salons. There are hair salons here called Sola Salons and each stylist has a private room. I liked that layout and privacy so your appointment is only you and your hairdresser. But, even after going there a couple times I heard the stylist gossiping about their clients in the break room, so I haven’t been back there either.
WOW. So unprofessional!!!
it depends on the gossip for me. if it's about life outside the salon, im cool with it, but if they talk shit about other clients' looks then I feel uncomfortable
No one should be offended, if they're grown up enough to get services at a beauty salon they should be grown up enough to know proper etiquette!!!
Some are just more sensitive than others
Be nice
NO! She's right! Why should she give things away! she had to go to school and all her overhead! She's 100 % right!!!!!! It's not Walmart or anything like that!!!! NO discounts!
ALSO!!!! Being a hair stylist is a demanding career. Most people don’t realize how many hats we wear! Scientist, therapist, athlete, artist, etc, etc.
Victoria Hilton preach
In beauty school I would have people ask OFTEN if their service would be free.
Like constantly "you're only students, why are you charging?!"
Now at the salon I work at, the cuts start at $30. I answered a call one day of a dude who word for word asked "What's the difference between you and sportscut. Why are you guys more expensive?" Straight up trying to start an argument 😫
Brooklyn New York in a decent neighborhood is $10-$20, cutting bangs is $5. Seriously LOL.
You're not being offensive! #truth! Thanks for speaking up for all of us cosmetologist!
yeah she's not being rude. She's speaking the truth. And sometimes the truth hurts!
Omg, your husband couldn't get what your point was, lol. I understood completely and agree with you. He should be proud that you are honest and true to yourself instead of worrying about stepping on someone's toes or hurting someone's feelings. What kind of life are you living if you always care about what other people think? Great video
I know right!! Her partner really annoyed me jeez.
I found it cute and funny. He was just concerned about her negatively effecting her business, that's all. xD
I feel like she's a fire sign and he's water. She's sag & he's cancer :/
Ahhw E-Any -- I was thinking she had to be a fire sign too, but she's actually a Cancer.
Though you never really know if a person acts the exact same way off camera.
Blades and Flannels OMG he was reeeeeeeaaaaally getting on my nerves in that last part of this video 😒😒😒😒
Brittney, your hair looks KILLER this length. It highlights those cheekbones!😍
Cheyenne Wyckoff na', that's the 40 pounds of contour.
Nichole Arielle You probably aren't wrong about that either😂
friggin LOVE YOU!!!
Shelly Loran if it's during the same sitting I don't get the point of double charging
