Who is still listening in 2024?
I'm leaving this comment here so after a month or a year when someone likes it, I get reminded of this masterpiece.
Best ever.......forever . 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
🤠
🤚
Here, 2 more days to go to 2024! Love this.
I am bless Ulf taminin for the music of satriania blessed by Jonathan tha White X
Who needs lyrics when you make a guitar sing as well as this man... simply amazing
well said. my thoughts exactly.
Melody, technique, storytelling, precision, shredding, rock n roll, drama, emotion. Perfection. Satch is the master.
Went to the Satch/Vai show two nights ago in memory of my father who passed away on Halloween and didn’t expect Joe to make me cry with this song. I lost my contact and had to squint the rest of the show, but it was totally worth it. Thanks, Dad, for giving a 15 year old boy a lifelong passion and a well-loved Ibanez.
Beautiful and kinda funny too. Respect.
My late husbands favorite song, he was a great fan of yours. And he also loved to play the guitar, This song is so beautiful , we played this song at his funeral at his request. Thank you Joe Satriani. ❤🍀
* Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and greet Mr. Joe Satriani at the special Club Joe VIP Q&A!
For my brother, my son and myself, this was a memorable, unforgettable moment!🤗Besides being a virtuoso on the guitar and a great musician, he is also a very humble and kind man.!
The concert was amazing !! (And of course "Always.. was our highlight)❤ 💥Thanks again Mr. Satriani!❤
All of us are sorry for your loss. Wish you all the best
Thank you for your kind words.
Always wanna keep someone happy.
@@antjack5776 , well you guys did, it is great to hear some guitar music in the house, i really miss that. I heard daily, Neal Schon, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. This song still gives me a smile, 🤗
I request my beloved wife to play this at my funeral.. If she becomes my wife.. she will have the same comment may be years from now..😊
My brother passed away last week. This was the first Satriani's song that he learned. This was in 1995. Now I can finally understand the meaning of "always with me always with you". I love you brother.
So sorry for your loss.
🙏🙏🙏
I know the feeling of losing a brother.. more power to you Jorge
I pray that your brother rests in power! God bless
I’m so sorry
Bless you Jorge. Your brother and my daughter have returned to our Creator.
What a true lesson in dynamics. Amazing.
I’m still listening in September 2023 and been for decades now, one of my all time favourite pieces of the musical art of guitar, Joe, you are a legend ❤️🇬🇧

I was estranged from my older brother for 8 years due to personal differences compounded by childhood trauma we both suffered that affected us both deeply. As young boys we both loved this song, it was one of the first albums that he ever owned.
I randomly decided to share this with him a couple of months ago and after absolutely no contact from him for years he actually messaged me back and then called me. We have started to forgive one another and we are rebuilding our relationship.
Cheers Joe.
That beautiful, deep down beautiful. God bless and congratulations! 💜💜
truly a steve and snot moment
Rock on guys life’s too short
A beautiful story you have there, wish you both all the best!
Wow! Parallels there for me... 7 years and counting. Something to think about. Thanks for sharing man. Hope all works out. Peace and healing to you!
Plenty has been said for the guitar, but the quality of that drum sound is IMMENSE man! Give that drum tech a medal or something. My word.
FrostmourneFK DW!
i agree
Drum... bass guitar
all the videos from this show have amazing high quality sound
Nothing but the best quality for Joe. XO
Listening in 2023
It's almost 2024

Makes me think of how beautiful life can b with someone you love
One of the greatest guitar performances of all time.
Absolutely agree. Probably THE greatest

Who is still listening in 2024?
Me love it !
i am, every single day, its amazing
Going tomorrow to see him. ❤
Me a d always will just like dokken and and a few others!
Me amazing
Easily the most amazing performance of Always I have ever heard Satch play. The extension at the end is very moving.
The most beautiful piece of music - timeless and soul bearing
Going to go put flowers on my mother's grave. She loved this song and when I was younger Satriani was one of the few rockers who had her seal of approval, lol. Love u mom and thank you Joe for an amazing song.
Floyd Kemp Your mother had great taste. All the best brother.
Sorry for your loss man. Beautiful track though and one of the few of Joe's I can actually play lol
😢🧡🙏😊
Sorry for your loss. I think of my friends and family when I listen to this song. The second half of the song makes me think of seeing them again. Resurrection of some sort.
I recognize you're story. My mother hated all te metal i was playing, with the exception of Joe. Our mothers had great taste and Joe is an exceptional musician
One of the most beautiful songs. Ever.
Truth
Himanshu Karmacharya when I flew to New Zealand.i listened to this track many times.its amazing.
Comment Freely yet here you are.
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!
Himanshu Karmacha HE is wonderful with any sonh
Have you ever heard something so pretty it brings tears to your eyes I cry every time I hear it such an amazing song 😍🔥
Check out a song by the name of karekare by Andrew white, I feel that song like this one invokes a lot of emotion. Also acsend by the doo on UA-cam amazing songs
Anyone with the least amount of musical taste is still listening to musical genius of Satrani
I see many comments about people remembering their lost ones in Joe's songs on UA-cam, meaning people have emotional connection with his music and so it marked as an invaluable sentimental value to those around. Truly powerful and inspiring. Thank you for your beautiful music for the world. Rock on! \m/
Very very beutiful
@Steven Zin - So true! Look at any video of this song, and the comments are filled with emotional connection and memories of such personal moments. This song has touched so many people lives, in so many ways.
Mr. Zin is spot on in observation.
My firstborn! God rest her soul!

Not going to sob this time. My eyes are only damp from the beauty. FknJoe can play!
So much music, so little time. Incredibly beautiful.

Joe's guitar speaks a language... either you get it... love it ... and respect it... or... are completely lost...
I have absolutely NO musical talent... but truly love & cannot get enough of what Joe is conveying...
Thanks for the years of it, Joe !
Joe Satriani’s Best Tone ever
One of the most impressive live I've seen with a guitar.
I always heard this song too on the weather channel.
he made few mistakes though
@@zanthony1286 I'm confused. I realize that this comment was initially written for his live of "Made of Tears".
The auto-play switch was probably "on".
Check his student called Steve Vai
The first time I ever heard Joe I was smoking a joint in the middle of the night at my job on the docks. One of my friends had brought the hash and the tape. The sound just blew me away. I had never heard anything like this before, the way it moved me was like nothing else I’d ever heard. I was so excited. Been a huge fan ever since. I absolutely love this track. I played it at the funeral of a buddy of mine who was killed in a motorbike accident. It can still reduce me to tears. There’s so much emotion in it. We do a ride down the west coast from Perth every year to commemorate our fallen comrade. I always have this blasting as we mount up at Kings Park.
Thank you Joe.
Respect 🙌
amen, mate. Amen. 😔🎸🎼💪🤘
Beautiful tune, beautiful story. All the best mate.
i can imagine getting high and then this tune just hits u...OMG..goosebumps..like those feelings are priceless
Fuck yeah man
There is only one Satriani. A humble, giant of a musician. A Guru.
Guru is right, he taught many famous metal guitarists.
I had the please to meet him years ago. One of the nicest & most down-to-earth people I've ever met!
@@riffu Many people don't realize that about him..
Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett.. Most don't know the extent of his reach...
2024 someone???
For as long i live imma come back to this video
Yes Joe Satriani is still the man!
3:32
Yup😊😊
❤❤❤
Seeing Joe was my brother's 35th birthday present to me in 2018.
He was brilliant.
Awesome Satriani!
good memories.
I still don’t think there is a single guitar player who can match Satriani in the area of story telling. He’s truly incredible!
I think Satch and Steve Vai are on the same level.
stevie ray vaughan could shred with them@@jl123ist
@@paulwallis1366 SRV was truly a blues master. He made jaws drop when he played at the Whitehouse.
Steve Morse is also good album high tension wires
Alip bata
THOS TAPS>>>> melt
wow. The mother is love.
For me, the slower Joe plays, the better he sounds. He is like Clapton. The fast legato runs and shredding are fine. But his slow runs breathe life and soul into the guitar that transforms it from a machine into something truly organic. That is his true mastery.
Yes. Phrasing is everything and at reduced speed it is easier to appreciate, savor and remember.
I was a cargo pilot in the 80’s and when I was flying in the early hours a Pittsburgh station always played this beautiful song. I picked it up on low freq radio. I loved it…and they played it every night about 3 am. I still love it almost 40 years later
same kind of thing for me with this song: ua-cam.com/video/Xox9J0FNjZ8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Santana
This song didn't come out until 1992.
@@captainmodulus Please look up the release date. 1987.
@@mtb3743 I stand corrected.
@@captainmodulus No problem! Great song & artist.
Joe, is untouchable... No one else can make a guitar 🎸 Sing, Talk and Dance, like, Satriani ✌️🌹💜💚
It is just so amazing what a wizard this man is with a guitar in his hands🤗. I've seen this version of "Always with me, Always with you hundreds of times, and I don't really need to watch anymore. I just take a hit, close my eyes, and let his perfection take me to a new place every..single..time! This is just soooo good. Thank you Joe❤!!!
My uncle Jerome died playing this song. Collapsed on stage. RIP big man.
what a way to go to heaven... my respect and big condolences.
A hell concert is going on in heaven..... RIP dude.
Lol I don't believe you?
Lol
@@Ezshaigrehn Why in hell would he lie about it? How callous.
He never sang or said a word and yet his guitar is saying all what meant! As Joe stated once “this is a love song” and oh my God it is. He is communicating with the souls in this masterpiece.
May God bless you Joe and anyone who enjoys your melody’s charm
He tried singing....it didn't work!
This masterpiece talks more than words..
the most beautiful love song I ever listen . fantastic melody .
I Dedicated this Song to My Mother a few weeks before she passed into Heaven,.....she liked the Song. I wish I could still reach out and touch her and hug her close to Heart. When I hear this Song it brings me back to 1994 When she passed on....such beautiful melodies and captured emotion,...INSPIRED by GOD....and brought to us by the Great JOE SATRIANI .....THANKS JOE !!!
This was new when my brother died. Always in tears by the end.
bless ya, bro 🙏🙏🙏
God bless you , and your mother!
Blessings my friend.
This universe is comprised of fractals of vibration. There are 'perfect vibrations' just as there are 'perfect numbers'. There is real science on this. And I have heard 'the perfect voice". From the time she started speaking until she finished, I could not move. And I can't tell you a single word she said. I only need to experience a thing once to believe it is real.
So,Trust, every time YOU light a candle and play that song, your Mom hears. Do you need to know how to build an airplane to know that they fly? Same deal here.
This guy has the ability to lift you to a spiritual higher ground to bring you back to earth at the end of the song. Wow
totally agree
Thank you for your sweet comment Soraya. Hope you enjoyed all my songs? ❤️🎸🎸
Lost my beautiful husband in Jan.....feeling him with me as I listen. Thank you, Joe 💞
So sorry for your loss.
The bassist is phenomenal. Joe is a guitar genius. The drummer is awesome.
Jeff Campitelli on drums
The first time I heard Joe Satriani, was back in the early 80's. Big Bad Moon! I will never forget it, and I am now 59 years old. God gave this man a gift, and we should all be thankful for this kind of raw talent. If no one noticed, at 6:40, they are all jammin hard, and then Joe looks at them, and they ignore him. Then all hell breaks loose!!! 😎
Никто там не джемует, всё отточено годами репетиций, Джо знает с кем работать. 🤘
Satriani the only guy who can make you cry at the same time his guitar is crying....
That’s a nice compliment, but he’s not the only player who can evoke that reaction. There are many.
Steve Vai was taught by Joe. I just listened to whispering a prayer.....check that one out dude....brilliant music :)
When Steve vai was being taught to read music Joe told him to memorize all the notes. Steve said he couldn't in a week. Joe wrote in his book " if you don't know the notes you don't know sh**" Joe knows the guitar Steve knows about playing guitar
There are many guitarists who improvise at the end of their songs doing meaningless solos. When Joe improvises he makes incredible melodies, riffs and solos, with feeling, definitely Joe is one of the best guitarists that ever existed.
I’m sure our friend Johnny Moore is still listening as well as all of us ! Bad ass !
Everyone put their heart & soul in the performance. Especially that drummer. There is no need to mention how incredible Satch is. ❤
Only piece of music that's ever brought to tears without a single lyric sung.
, ,
Bro, try Polyphia too. They’re also a decent band with no vocals.
Try Shawn Lane.. Its similar
You should try this Rachmaninoff dude. He has some next level shit
You forget Carlos Santana letting his guitar speak instead.
Why are you this good man? I’m crying at 1am here. No it isn’t reminding me of anything sad, just because of how good your playing is! Be blessed master Satch!
I'm the same, listening to someone so talented brings out the emotions 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Gotta Love Playing from the soul! Gary Moore, Cover of Rou Buchanan's "The Messiah Will Come Again" Live. Same caliber performance! Highly Recommend
Roy not Rou
Ahhh this song is going way to far❤
The one thing I like almost as much is Joe's playing is an appropriate comment on his playing. Bang on !
We buried my uncle Mike today.
Joe was his idol, and he made sure to instill an appreciation for Joe, and all the legends, in all of us.
I remember him telling me "kid, Satriani is going to blow your mind!" And he still does to this day. This song has extra special meaning to me now, because no matter what, we'll always have Joe.
That's beautiful
This song is one of those rare pieces of genius that requires no words. Just beautiful. Thanks Joe, you are a god.
Indeed
No words all message
35 years (!) after buying the Surfing with the Alien album, this song is still amazing. A must learn composition for any young guitar player to study.
Only Satriani can have a tone that is both clean and dirty at the same time. ❤💎
Solo lui può sporcare x che e semplicemente immenso❤
Sick
That’s a great way to put it. And the “clean” part is just clear and sharp to the point of being haunting.
shivering music
We all know Satch is the man ! But let's take a minute and appreciate what an amazing team he has ! Especially the bass player and the sound engineer ! Those drums are out of this world , too !
Wow... No cell phones up in the air, no crowd rushing the stage, the audience is just listening and absorbing. Pretty awesome.
Super classy show ! We saw him last evening in Cincinnati. Such an amazing event. Theater venue . He’s all business .
to be fair this was 2016/17, right at the beginning of the hyper locked in internet experience my brother.
i went to see marrilion a week or 2 ago and at the beginning they asked people not to hold thier arms up and film while blocking the view for others and just to enjoy the show
Just saw him last night at Atlanta Symphony Hall. Same thing. I think he chooses venue to create a setting of calmness! It was really cool, nice small venue.
Yes that's what I like with Satriani.
One of the greatest guitar performance and a song…. So many things happening here yet so beautifully put together ❤❤❤
Man that second solo must have been such a treat to the audience. Incredible story crafting through just instrumental guitar, not to mention shredding all that live
And they show the same Samoa looking kid in the crowd both times.
The builds and the gentle float down are truly felt in his storytelling.
I love Satriani of course, have almost all works & videos, but Igor Paspalj is out of this world also !!
That was a journey. Holy cow, so moving. It's like the guitar is an extension of his soul. So much feeling, so much skill. ...and on that note, if Joe Satriani can only get 159K subs, I'm throwing in the towel right now.
Magic Jones so true
One thing I always enjoy about Satriani is that, out of all the blistering virtuoso "out there" guitar stars, he still manages to keep it musical, and still about rocking for the people.
Totally agree, he doesn't sacrifice melody for the sake of cheap pops.
Agreed 100% !
@@fattboyzz1355 HE IS A ROBOT TRUST ME PACO DE LUCIA WAS A GUITAR PLAYER NOT THIS GUY
Uncle Owen this is for you , you tuned me into this man and i have never forgotten, and i never will .
beautiful.
Joe Satriani. The man who proves decisively that being great doesn't mean playing scales fast.
There are musicians that are crazy good... And there are truly Virtuosos like Satriani. Come one you can hear, you can see the love for the guitar in this man. This is level of Chopin or Bach in music.
No. Exceptionally good perhaps, that's top pro's today for you . .. not not Bach Joe is brilliant I know but he just bores the pants off me, no offence -like he is so cool but too smoooooth, no sharp edges. Agreed, one of the best about, like Mamlsteen, Rhoads, Moore, Blackmore maybe, just don't get it. peace :)
Brendan O' Neil i get your point about the edge, moreover when you talked about Blackmore... but then... what do you think about Vai ? And im not talking about edges here
I believe I have watched this video at least 200 times, and it gives me chills every...single...time!!! Joe, you are so supremely talented it turns me into a puddle, and I just weep! I honestly don't think there is a finer musical performance on this platform. It is simply astounding!!! Thank you so much for this one Joe🙏🙏🙏!!!
So true. I bought this tape when it first came out, and wanted friends to hear this song, and they were like, Joe who? :)
more than 1000 times, this is like a daily routine for me
This has to the best live guitar performance of all time no doubt
Easily THE most beautiful piece of music ever written!
well . . . . here's a candidate, the start is perfect, the drummer isn't even done setting up yet lol
ua-cam.com/video/7uAUoz7jimg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ChicagoonMV
If a guitar solo can be synonymous with the phrase, "All is right with the world, " it's this one.
This song is simple proof that the soul exists, and humans have them. There is no other explanation.
Thank you
If you say so. I only see proof that Joe practiced his scales and knows his modes/intervals, and therefore has a solid musical knowledge at the base of his impressive techinque. The only soul I have ever seen is the Kia Soul. You call it soul. I call it a lot of practice and knowledge of music theory. Like, good old fashioned hard work bearing its own fruit. I doubt Joe would be flattered to see all his study and hard work minimized and played off as "having soul" or "evidence of a soul"! Despite having good intention, that remark is insulting to those who know how hard it is to achieve this level of craftsmanship in music. No one know that better than Joe Satriani. He was a teacher himself, notorious for the
high standards he held for his students. He left a veritable holocaust of dismissed former students in his wake while at the same time taking great pride in former students who had been disciplined enough for his lessons to go on to greatness. Alex Skolnick comes to mind as an example of one of Joe's best students. He was pretty good before he took lessons from Joe. But after, he was one of the great ones.
Again, I doubt Joe would agree with your well meaning sentiment. But hey, what do I know? I'm just an old guitar teacher and someone who knows a thing or two about Joe.
So what's your point?
@Oh yeah yeah No, we are not stupid, are you? By asking stupid questions we could easily think you are.........
@@imvandenh This is one of the most patronising comments I have ever red on YT. Who are you to judge whether one can or can't make the comparison being able to make this kind of music and having a soul. This person tells us he is touched within the core of his soul by this music and to him/her is it proof humans do have a soul being able to make beautiful music like that. Oh you know "a bit" about Joe Satriani? So what? It is about the personal perception of someone and nobody else can make a judgement about that.
Always with me my old mate introduced me to Joe satriani bak in the 80s n I've never looked back apart to remember my good friend 💖 Paul Preston
Back for another fix. wOw ......just wOw blows me away every time. Thank you Joe and Co.☘💚☘

Let's all take a moment to appreciate the wonderful Galen Henson (rhythm guitar), the unsung hero of this concert.
Yes sir... He's spot on as always. Great guitar player in his on right.
Thank you, it took forever to find his name!!!! Galen Henson. I absolutely love his perfect rhythm playing! Cheers Brent!
The reason I clicked the live version was to see how he mixed the guitars live. I'm glad I did. Saw him live in Melbourne 30 years ago and he's still got it

This masterpiece changed millions of lives... mine included. I embraced playing guitar as my purpose of life in 89. Thank you Satch! We love you.
Satch is my favorite guitarist and he's a master for so many reasons. But his performance in this video is above and beyond. The extended solo section is pure joy, and the little octave riff at 6:02 gives me goosebumps every time.

When is somebody gonna make a documentary about this genius?
Joe Satriani... you are an individual worthy of notice, of attention... that can be noticed; appreciable... that stands out for its property that determines the essence or nature of a being or thing. The base of the song Always whith me always whith you... is the most significant base in the world. You have a peculiar quality; specificity, imprint. Itajaí Valley, Santa Catarina.
