This concert, with Dave LaRue on bass, is the best I've heard from Satch. Dave is an absolute monster on his instrument. All those years with Steve Morse gives him all the pedigree he needs. He's a class act all the wayy!
@@jeffreyalexander9274 i can cover many of his songs, Vai, Petrucci, Eric Johnson and many other guitar instrumental songs but i don't think i can perform 2 hours straight instrumental without making a lot of mistakes.. This kind of performance need lot of focus and memory especially when u have to play it like 90% on the record..
I’ve seen him do it for 3 hours. Crystal planet tour in the early 2000s. Flawless. The man is ageless. He’s been doing this for decades and no one can touch him. He and Al Di meola are god level players✌🏼
True statement. At this point Jeffhas been with Satch for a number of years but his sound on this recording and whole show and his playing is top notch.... total groove
Sorry, my English is not very good... I met a Woman at Deep Purple Concert, she was so tiny and sweet, I asked her: Do you see like me, nothing...? Oh yeah, I'm just hearing. - Oh come on up. After my shoulders, she saw all and I was happy 🙂
Paul, the harmonic scream is now part of your being, my friend. It will never leave you. All Hail, Lord Satriani...long may his harmonic screams and other ear candy reign and rule in the House of Awesomeness forever. Amen.
5:03-5:08 - I've seen him do that live maybe 8 times, and it's only occurred to me in the last couple of years that he's not vibing it, and that he actually plays the same arpeggios every time. It's an insane piece of playing!
I don’t think this is even in my top 10 favorite Satch songs yet it’s probably my favorite live performance by him. There’s just so much detail and nuance in his playing here, not to mention a ton of swagger. And that bass play and sound is utter perfection. The perfect guitar instrumental to light up a fatty to. Haha
@@nicolasavezou7345 Eh? I can't recall that he does anything in that song that is similiar to that "hammer-on, pull-off, mute strings with right hand" thingy that he does in Cool #9... There's some sweeps in there though (in Mind Storm) and he plays that song on a seven string; two things you won't find much of in any of his songs :-)
Yeah, it's not even so much what but HOW he does it. I saw him at G3 years back with Vai and Petrucci and he did it and the girl I was dating at the time was like holy crap because she'd never seen him do that. This had to be at least 16 years ago or so. Great showman, so emotive.
I last saw him in 96 with Vai, and Eric Johnson, on the first G3 tour at Boston's, Orpheum Theater. Adrian Legg played between sets. All were amazing! I would love to see him again this Nov. 5th, in that same place. He is so amazing to watch live, in person. Much better than what you hear on his recorded albums.
Been Satriani fan since 86 or so. Got all the records and this DVD of course. But one of my happy places isn't necessarily with Joe. It's with Jeff Campitelli. Even after a crummy day at work I can watch him play and I can't help but smile. It's as if he isn't just in the pocket but also having the absolute best time of his life being there.
GREAT MIX OF TWO OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD.THROW PAUL IN THERE AND THAT WOULD BE WELL THERE IS NO WORDS THAT I CAN THINK OF.WHAT IS AFTER GREAT OR AWESOME .🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
acdc did when i was 8 but i hated my guitar so didnt officially start till 19 starting to get pretty good now with some good old satriani hope to make covers sometime soon.
I was at the show of that tour in Mexico City, 2006 one of the best concerts I have attended to. It is a great pleasure listen to all these musicians do their magic!
Ahhh que envidia jajaja yo tenía 6 años :( algún día veré a satriani en vivo… ya vi a Vai pero falta este master. “Lo voy a disfrutar… como no tienes idea”
I was there also at the concert in Mexico, I was living in Taxco Gro, for 20 years working in the silver business, and now I'm in the Philippines making shell jewelry and selling in Hawaii and California.
Grande Joe...aca se juntaron 2 grandes...el bajista es un capo tb....creo que es el que mejor acompaña a Joe..y le sigue en la misma onda...Stu Hamm tb era increible pero éste solea igual de bluesero que Joe...Gracias!!
C'Mon Joe! Come back to Summerfest, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is the LARGEST music festival in the WORLD! I saw you there back in the early 2000's. Come back!
It must be 8-9 years ago when I saw Joe at Hammersmith . Bruv and I we’re too close. The bass drum went right through me. Still- it was a brilliant concert.
This performance is incredible. 🎹🎸🎸🎸🎹👍♥🎵Extremely difficult to play for the lead guitar, base and especially the drums to keep the rhythm and harmony with the mind blowing Satch’s melodies and rhythm changing. Almost impossible for others to play!
Wow what an innovator this guy is, nothing like him in the world I think he is the best!! he started out as a drummer. Im a drummer...so...just saying...
i watch this every week
a few times :]
Todos lo hacemos entonces 😂
Man this NEVER gets old. Joe makes it look easy and that bass. That bass is just groovy
Your channel is mint mate, hope to see a return
Cud of been a 80s porno theme song 😂 grooving and a shredding to a down and dirty 3-note black and blue cranker 😊❤
Yep, Dave La Rue is a fantastic bass player....
Amen about my 1000 time...😅
Now why?
You getting older 😂
Joe & friends at the utmost
Such a great vibe , so good
Jeff Campitelli on drums is so dang good

Agree
LaRue gives me arthritis just watching him!
Agree!
Yes, Satch.... really great !!
Yea he’s equally ,musically talented as joe
Who ever can pull off 2 hours of live magnificent instrumental guitar performance without any mistakes is not an ordinary people..
Well said...well said perfectly!

Oh they make mistakes arlright. Their mistakes just sound SO GOOD that you can't tell that is what the are lol!
Satch never makes a mistake

Ain't no 9 that is cooler than this 9
Indeed
it is spinal tap. all the way up to 11
Love the candy red apple Ibanez and the video
jeff Campitelli is the perfect drummer, the guy is a metronome!Maybe one of the most underrated drummers in the world.
And the smile on his face
he works for joe satiriani not justin beiber what did y expect ?
Way underrated!

NABIL HAMZA 😂😂😂😂😂
Best Alltime Guitar Player. Ever
3:17 look how dave larue stop and retuen to play post tune when joe started to play.
This is Unreal!!...
I can’t believe it, after 13 years, here i am still amazed by Satriani’s bluesy things and efficient technics. Such an exceptional musician!
That bass though 🔥
All is so perfectly done here, but the groovy bass maaaaaan!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to meet Dave LaRue. He's a cool guy and one hell of a bass player!
@ he seems to be so humble and such a simple guy! You are definitely a lucky one! 👋🏻
06:31 features the favorite bass part, but he was out of the camera frame during this section.
I saw Joe hit one of those harmonic screams, from about 6 feet away in Glasgow, Scotland... Stunning! That noise has never left me. Love this!
Sorry, my English is not very good... I met a Woman at Deep Purple Concert, she was so tiny and sweet, I asked her: Do you see like me, nothing...?

Joe is simply the best.... maybe because he is a Persian 😎
This is what a guitar should SOUNDS LIKE!!! Supreme MASTER!!!
I stood 12 ft. from Joe in 1990 "Flying in a Blue dream Tour" for 2 1/2 Hrs. 30 Years later I'm still God slapped!!!!
This record was killer.

The fact he does it so smooth while muting it makes it even better
He also does that for the mystical potato head groove thing
All these years and I never considered that he played those mad whammy bits with a pedal!
Percussion, bass, rhythm, and lead are awesome. Hats off to all you guys.
It's a thing of beauty to watch Joe wail on the Guitar 🎸😊❤
For me the best performance of this song, the best lineup, but the bass and drums sound amazing like in the studio.
Joe feeling while playing guitar was my inspiration to start to play guitar. I want to feel that too one day 😅
Dave LaRue is a beast on that bass!
Didn't he play with Steve Morse for a while?
Very good bass player. I'm a Stu fan through and through.
Is Stu still alive? I thought I heard he died a couple years back.
Yeah, Stu's still alive and kicking. Still belting out the bass and is still active playing..
You mean Carlos Puyol?
I don’t think this is even in my top 10 favorite Satch songs yet it’s probably my favorite live performance by him. There’s just so much detail and nuance in his playing here, not to mention a ton of swagger. And that bass play and sound is utter perfection.
The perfect guitar instrumental to light up a fatty to. Haha
Joes intro is just sublime!
in the last 10 years somehow the internet lost/deletet soo much good music.. glad this one survived
My favourite rock bass player by a long way
The bass sound is so good here.
4:58 Still one of the coolest things Joe have played, in my opinion :-)
He does the exact same thing in Mindstorm ! :)

Satriani a big one!
One of the best live instrumental songs. Amazing musicians. Just superb.

A good use of a bass player! Finally some love.

"Not of This Earth"!
Um dos melhores guitarrista do mundo.
One of very few "musicians" who came where he is not because he knew someone, but because he became the music.
....such is...THE POWER COSMIC....😎💯
This some of his best work.
Pure cool class!
Never gets old this stuff
Joe the master and his band of legends
The teacher
Love that bass solo. Lead and bass trade places. Satriani on rhythm. Awesome.
